Not sure what happened here in the past 3 months, the cooking is terrible. Every tine we've ordered food even a small order such as a simple baked potato, it doesn't get cooked or its cold in the center if it's a calzone....everything comes out sloppy looking also. I understand that I live in nj and they can't deliver but I told the girl twice where I lived and they waited 30 minutes after I ordered to tell me they can't deliver there. When I asked the manager I would presume y would they make me wait when I told them twice where I lived they stated the girls don't know . First off let me say I've been getting food from this place since I was literally born. The food is extremely good and my family frequently orders it usually on Fridays. We only usually order or cater from here and it is very good. The food and service is unmatched with any other place. The unfortunate reality about this place is that the location is horrible, there is never parking to eat in and if there is good luck getting out of the parking lot. However I strongly believe that this place is good enough to be competitors with fast food franchises as long as you have at least $20 in your pocket. My experience at Town Deli in Tottenville was good. The remodeling looks Great. The addition of a dine in area is a nice touch. The space is a little tight and during busy hours seating becomes scarce. They have an assortment of cold drinks to select from all the favorite vendors. Tonight I tried the Mess the sandwich friends have raved about saying it's a must try because of the size and flavors. I ordered the Mess as a Sub. The bread was excellent absorbed the oil and vinegar with out becoming mushy and falling apart. The pairing of Salami, Cappicola, Mortadella, Roast Beef, Peppered Ham, Turkey, Provolone was good. The Sub itself unfortunately was missing Mayo which I had to add at home since it was missed in my order. As for the buffalo wings which come with (7) of the smallest wings I've ever seen not only were they over cooked but I asked them to make them extra hot very spicy and that to them I guess translated to throwing some red pepper flakes on them with little hot sauce. My last gripe with the wings is how does one order wings you get 5 out of 7 being drumsticks? I'm not bashing Town Deli as I've eaten here before and the food is always good, but with the prices higher, the small nickel and dime on taking place will hurt customer business relations as well as my thoughts on a return visit. If you'd ask me if I'd recommend friends stopping in. I would say yes as the food is good but to me I would not go out of my way to return. I understand as a consumer there's a fine line between quantity and quality but I also believe if I'm paying good money everything should be in proper order. Again the Mess sandwich left me feeling good. I can't say the same for the wings which were a big disappointment. Hope for a better visit next time. read more

They have a lot of kinks to workout - but the food is pretty good. Usually do not write reviews but feel the need to now. My family and I ordered from Town deli weekly and always order the same thing. For some reason my grilled vegetable wrap was messed up and I got some other "vegetable wrap." We called up and asked if they could take back their wrap that was not eaten in exchange for the wrap that I had ordered. After playing games on the phone they finally said they would come pick up their wrap and give me mine. Fine makes us all happy.
