    House Pasta with Chicken

After talking with a few folks, I've been told that as a senior, I was perhaps, there at the wrong time. Saturday night at the Townhouse Detroit is a whole vibe, with loud house music, dancing ladies, and a bongo player circling the dining area! A bit hard to enjoy my meal, but it was great for the younger crowd! As for my meal, I got the house pasta with chicken, and the crab beignets. The pasta was a rigatoni, and it was undercooked and chewy. The pasta sauce was great, as was the chicken. The crab beignets were excellent. I dropped a star for the pasta. Service was great.

Came for a birthday dinner, party of 6. The weather was extremely cold out & we were seated in the closed in glass area. Everyone kept their coats on, it was uncomfortably cold. The manager politely moved our seats to the inside. We didn't want to complain too much but, there was a window to our back...and another frigid breeze. Some of our drinks had to be remade. Our bill wasn't accurate, and (3rd party) Valet broke two charms off of my keys, tried to give me the wrong car, and didn't offer more than an apology.

I had a great experience on Monday night at Townhouse Detroit. I was craving Branzino and the restaurant I would usually go to is closed on Mondays. So, I went to see if Townhouse brought back their branzino to the menu and boy did they ever! It was even better than before. Butterflied and grilled to perfection. Crispy charred skin, flaky and meaty underneath. The peanut cabbage salad with fresh vinaigrette was the perfect compliment to this wonderful dish. I enjoyed every bit as you can see I always enjoy their big eye tuna (tuna crispy rice) and their signature Gin and Juice cocktail. I also enjoyed the Venice Beach cocktail. It was the perfect level of "not too sweet" involving pamplemouse and pinot grigio. 10/10 visit to Townhouse. Sit at the bar. It's never too busy, bartenders need love too and the service is swift!!!

Great food, great service and I loved the ambience at this restaurant, I went here for brunch prior to my lions game and they were excellent!! I would definitely say you should try this place if you're in downtown!!

Classy and delicious downtown Detroit. Service at the bar is always good. Coffee is made to order, so expect to wait a moment and enjoy your fresh cup of Java! We enjoyed a quick bite and shared the Crab Beignets and the Nashville Hot Bao Buns. Fresh and delicious, and all we needed to get us back in the game!

Amazing atmosphere and interior with awesome decor and design - excellent food as well such as the egg sandwich plus the dumplings. They also offer various beverages - alcoholic and non-alcoholic including iced tea, pineapple juice and sparkling water. Service was also exceptional and attentive. Overall an outstanding dining destination also open for dinner in the evenings.

Yes, nice, classy place. Outstanding bar with photo worthy setup. If you think of a spirit, they have it. Had Egg Benedicts. They were really tasty. Well presented. Staff accommodating. Location good.

We had amazing time during Saturday dinner at this Townhouse location! Yes, it wasn't cheap but the experiences, atmosphere and the food made it worth it. The open sky, greenhouse feel of the dining room was amazing, with this very Miami feel. Wait staff dressed in tailored uniforms and very professional and attentive. It took a bit too long to get the food out but it was compensated by restaurant serving a few "on the house" appetizers while we waited. But once the food arrive - it was worth the wait. Burger was delicious! Thinly sliced beets were amazing, just as was the mushroom appetizer! Chicken schnitzel dish was a good size portion and also tasty. And you cannot leave this place without having their trade mark double cherry shaped dessert. Absolutely finger kicking good! Best eaten with a cappuccino. To top it all as the night went on we were treated to an amazing show. DJ spinning music that made it hard to remain seated, dancers walked around dressed in sexy outfits with beautiful props, a drummer drummed to the beat as he walked around the room. Dinner and a party rolled into one. The best!

Very cute trendy place. Very good cocktails. Good was mid and it took a very long time to get our food. Ordered appetizers first and entrees later but the appetizers took 45 ish minutes to come out. It was a painful wait. Mac and cheese and salmon dish came out super salty. Fried mushrooms tasted like just fried batter. The bread that came with the burrata was too smokey/charred tasting it was overkill. Truffle fries, the fries itself was soggy and dry and needed more flavor, maybe just even a bit more salt. Fried wontons could've been better. With the richness of the foi gra, it came with a really sweet sauce but I feel like something with more acidity would've been better. Friends got chicken and waffles and it was really dry and already really sweet so maple syrup would've been overkill to add on top. Bao buns were good overall but not spicy what so ever. Didn't really seem like a Nashville hot chicken bao bun. The pickeled jalapeño it came with was actually super sweet. Calamari was good. I would come back just for cocktails and the aesthetics. Not really the food.

Sat outside for a business dinner. Food and drinks were good. Service was a little slow but they were busy so was expected. Would go again.

nice atmosphere, but there are a few drawbacks. First, there's no dedicated parking lot, so be prepared to find street parking or use a nearby garage(which expected for downtown). The service was amazing, our server was attentive and friendly, which was the highlight of the experience. However, the food didn't quite live up to the price. For what we paid, we expected better quality and flavor. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I'm not sure I'd rush back.

The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon. Service was great and we were seated right away at 8pm on a Saturday despite not having a reservation. Food and drinks came out promptly and timed perfectly. We spent about 1.5 hours here and we never felt rushed.

I returned to celebrate a friend's birthday; we had the experience I expected during our first visit. I arrived early for our reservation, and even though it was a Friday evening, I was able to secure the best seat in the house: a corner table by the window, great for people-watching. The upscale restaurant is nicely designed. There are short, plush booths and small tables by the window. I loved the modern pendant lights throughout, suspended from diamond-shaped architectural elements. Windows on two sides of the restaurant let in the late summer light. We started with unique beverages: a cocktail for my friend and a mocktail, Make it Snappy, for me. I savoured the taste of snap peas ("snappy", get it?) and orange blossoms in the drink as we caught up with each other. Then the parade of dishes began. We started with the Roasted Eggplant Toast and the Seared Octopus. We could not get over the medley of eggplant, pepper, and cheese flavors. They blended so well together. The seared octopus was paired with briny olives and toothsome garbanzo beans. Next up, my friend had the seared sea scallops, served with thick slabs of bacon, whereas I had the filet mignon, rare. I usually never have filet as I prefer the ribeye or NY strip cuts. However, the steak was tender and well seasoned. We enjoyed our entrées with some of the best-prepared fries ever and Lion's Mane mushrooms. Despite the large portion of fries, we made a huge dent in them because they were, as I said, so well prepared, crispy and tender. For dessert, I had the trilece cake (tres leches cake), and my friend had the chocolate and espresso torte. Both were exquisite. I was delighted with my cake and also enjoyed the intense cardamom flavors of my friend's. Service was flawless. The bartender/ server was friendly and professional; he made great recommendations.

While the carrot salad was good, I would skip next time in favor of trying something else. Similarly, for my main, I ordered the crab and saffron risotto but did not really like it. Our waiter noticed and asked me about it, so I was honest and said it was probably my personal taste so no worries but he insisted on taking it off our bill. Like I said before, service was 5 stars - Carter was very attentive without being intrusive, water glasses were never empty, plates switched out between courses, crumbs brushed from table, etc. They do a really good job here!

The menu lists them all, and you select one by one, along with options for different types of french fries. There are a couple other options, too, including a cup of clam chowder. Some favourite sliders we tried: BCT, Fish Fry, Corned Beef, Fried Chicken, Cuban, and truffle fries. The Cuban and Fried Chicken (with syrup) were extra good. We were well taken care of, and our server came to check in to make sure we could order more food as needed. The horse themed decor was fun, too!

After being closed a year the new owners opened it back up as a craft slider "bar". There is nothing fancy about this restaurant. Its decor is basic wood tables and chairs in the center with booths lining one side of the space and a bar on the other. The staff are casual about you being there - there is no fanfare. When we arrived, we checked in at the host stand to get our names on the wait list. They text you when your table is ready. The place was full when we got there but the turnover was quick. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes and were seated in a booth. The menu is all sliders on one side and fries, salads, and sweets on the other. Fairly simple and the prices are beyond reasonable. The server told us most people get 3 sliders and fries. I did that plus I got a Moscow Mule to drink - it was only $5! I chose the Double Cheeseburger, Spicy Crispy Chicken (with a slice of provolone added), Olive Burger, and the Truffle Fries. Everything is served as soon as it's made so your items arrive at different times, which was fine by me. Each slider was served in its own cardboard "dish". Again, nothing fancy. The Olive Burger was really good - served with green olives and cheese on top of a beef burger. I liked the saltiness of the olives - it added to the total taste in a positive way. The Double Cheeseburger was actually pretty big so I would just get the single next time. And the Spicy Crispy Chicken was recommended by our server. He suggested adding the provolone slice, which I did. That was basically a buffalo chicken sandwich. And it was good! The truffle fries were excellent - you could really taste the truffle seasoning/oil. I also liked that they were the skinny type of fries. This is the type of independent restaurant I'm always looking for - one that sticks to its theme and does an excellent job of it. I'll definitely be back!
