Town's End is one of the best brunch spots in SF! All of the ingredients are incredibly fresh and the food has great quality. We had the chicken fried beef steak, sweet tooth pancake, and the Giants burger. Everything was delicious, the sweet tooth pancake was not too sweet and had great balance of taste and texture. The chicken fried steak was delicious and I understand why it's a favorite and a must try! The Giants burger was huge and so satisfying and the curly fries was delicious! You can enjoy your brunch with amazing views as well. Sam consistently provides top notch service every single time we visit. The care he puts in the restaurant is reflected in the quality of the food and the excellent service. We loved every single dish we ordered and will be back to try more! If you're going to make people wait 45 minutes for a table, the food and service should probably be worth the wait. Unfortunately, neither was. After we were seated, it took another 15 minutes just to have our order taken, followed by more than 30 minutes for the food to arrive. When it finally showed up, it was cold. The pork chop was so dry and overcooked it was basically pork jerky and completely inedible. They also managed to get the toast wrong on both orders. Service was nearly nonexistent. No one checked on our table, we didn't have enough forks or sharing plates, no jam was offered for the toast, and we had to repeatedly flag someone down anytime we needed something. Even at the end, we asked for to-go boxes and the check, received the boxes, and somehow the check was forgotten too. I can forgive a long wait when a restaurant is busy. I can forgive one mistake. But a 45-minute wait followed by slow service, cold food, incorrect orders, an inedible entrée, and zero attentiveness is a lot to overlook in one meal. One of my family members who is local told us about this spot. I ordered the Mr Breakfast, which came with eggs, toast, hash browns, and meat (I chose chicken apple sausage since they didn't have turkey bacon). The eggs were the best part of the meal. The toast came soft and soggy. The hash browns were undercooked, especially since I asked for them to be made crispy when I ordered. The chicken apple sausage was way too sweet. The fish and chips my friend ordered were way better. The fish was crispy and seemed fresh. The salad that came with it was delicious. The tartar sauce on the side was amazing. The sign when we walked in said to wait for the hostess to seat us, but we were then told to take a seat anywhere we wanted. Our waitress never once came back to check on us or replace our water carafe. We had to flag her down anytime we needed anything. At the end, however, she was very friendly. We found out that her husband makes the delicious strawberry jalapeño jam that the restaurant serves. She was just busy serving all the tables and closing down the restaurant for the day, which was why she was less attentive in the beginning. The portions are huge here, so you can easily split a plate if you're not too hungry. The inside of the restaurant gives a classic diner feel, with a collection of bobble heads on display. read more

I started coming to this restaurant when it first opened (around 1990) because of the muffin tops, menu selections, complimentary mini size bakery basket and food quality being consistently good. When the area developed (high rise apartments and Oracle Park) parking became insane. The restaurant and area lost its charm, so I stopped coming. So when I happened to be in this neighborhood, I decided to try the restaurant and see what changes were made. The only difference inside of the restaurant is that the bakery area is now replaced with a bar. The small pastry display looked pitiful. The pastries didn't look appealing - muffins were below the cup line topped with sugar sprinkles and the slices of cake look like it was just sitting there. Other than that, the decor looked the same. I was greeted by a friendly server and sat at a table with complete views of the bay. Food was served temperature hot with a smile. Server came frequent to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. The Dubai chocolate pancake was absolutely delcious. It looks awfully sweet but it wasn't. The pancakes were fluffy with nice brown bottoms. Presentation was awesome. I definitely would order this again. The chicken fried steak was good but needed more gravy. The server bought me a bowl of gravy and once I had that, it was more delicious. The gravy was homemade, creamy with bits of sausage. The over easy eggs were cooked perfectly - not too runny nor hard. The hash browns were the best I had for a long time - it wasn't greasy and was crispy as I like it (I did ask for crispy hash browns) - not overcooked or dry. The muffin was too floury and dense for me. It was not what I remembered it to be - fluffy, soft insides with a semi crispy outside. Overall, if you are in this neighborhood, give the restaurant a try. The food is just as good as I remembered it 15 plus years ago but I would definitely would not recommend the bakery goods. read more

Great small local brunch spot! Never heard of it but stopped by after a 5k run. Had to wait about 30-40 minutes on a weekend but not bad cause the area is great for waiting if the weather is nice. The portions are HUGE and I got the chicken fried steak. It was SO SO SO delicious and tender, typically I only eat about half of brunch plates but I ate the whole thing. Food was ok, the hollandaise on my eggs Benedict was cold and congealed-very disappointing. Hashbrowns were completely burnt on the bottom so I was only able to scrape off the top layer. The bacon was chopped up into tiny pieces making a very chewy consistency, I prefer crispy. Service was ok, but it was so loud in the restaurant. Waitress asked if I wanted a 2nd mimosa, I said no thank you and she brought one anyway. Very convenient location before the game. Probably won't be back. read more

Went for a sunday brunch. I got the orange juice, which was definitely freshly squeezed and husband got the peruvian latte, which was also amazing. I got the combo for breakfast with waffle. The waffle was way too salty for my taste but everything else was quite good. Went to this place on our morning city stroll. Love the location! Very neat place. We were seated immediately and it was busy. Loved early morning giggle and chatters and the customers. There is a fresh juice bar with veggies and fruits meaning their juice is truly fresh squeezed. Our server was awesome. My husband and I were speaking in our manager and she picked on a few words. Little did I know this was gonna be one of the best acai bowls in the city! There ample amount of fruits granola and peanut butter and the acai was not blended with other additives just to stretch it out. And the whole thing was around $12! Which is such a steal! This is the place to grab brunch before a day San Francisco Giants baseball game at Oracle Park. Inside is a shrine of bobble heads of the San Francisco Giants , San Francisco Forty Niners, and the Golden State Warriors (originally San Francisco Warriors). There is also a juice bar along with an alcohol menu with alcoholic coffee cocktails , beer, sangria, and wines. I had to get the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and lightly battered and the fries were crispy. I also had the breakfast with golden hash browns which was tasty with bacon, biscuits, and eggs. Just because Pier 38 is across the street does not mean it's next to Pier 39 ( over a 2 mile distance) which I heard stories about tourists in SF making that mistake( Dodger fans usually). A good brunch spot for any and all seasons including the Holiday season. Way to ruin Mother's Day! I had made a reservation on April 17 on Yelp. Got the confirmation days before. When we get there, we weren't on the list. The host said that they had gotten rid of Yelp reservations weeks ago (I was able to check it a week ago so that's a lie). Nobody told me the reservation was cancelled. The guy said he would put us on the waitlist and get us in in about 10-15. We also changed from 4 to 5 (my brother surprised us) and I was told they would accommodate since they messed up the reservation. I saw him put 5 down on the tablet and got the confirmation text. Fast forward to 30 min later and they say they're clearing a table for us. 15 min after that I go up and ask what's going on. At this point it's 11:45 (our original reservation is was 11) and they're saying a few more minutes. They finally say our table is ready...it's for 4. I remind them it's for 5 and ask why we can't sit at the table that fits 5. They say it's because they have a reservation for 6. THATS HILARIOUS BECAUSE I HAD A RESERVATION FOR 11 AND APPARENTLY WE DIDNT MATTER. I will never come here again and I will be sure to tell all my friends and family to never come here. They didn't even care that I had prepared almost a month in advance and it is Mother's Day! What horrible people and service. read more

I had the Denver omelette and it was quite good. I was starving and needed to pack on the protein and carbs for what turned out to be a hot day in the City. Add to that lots of black coffee--our server kept my cup full--and I was ready for some baseball. My buddy had the Corned Beef Hash and I know I will have that the next time I am there. Unfortunately, our experience at Town's End left a bad taste in our mouths--and not because of the food. The first issue began when we asked a simple question about the crab cakes. Two different employees had given us conflicting answers about whether the crab was real or imitation, so a guest took it upon themselves to ask for clarification from the chef. Rather than responding with understanding or professionalism, our waitress appeared visibly annoyed by the situation. Her demeanor shifted noticeably, and the energy at the table became tense. Later, as one of our guests politely tried to get her attention by saying, "Excuse me, miss, may I ask you a question?", she audibly sighed and muttered "Oh god" under her breath as she turned around. That kind of response is completely unacceptable in a service setting. To top it off, even though we had a reservation for 1:15 PM and arrived early, the restaurant turned off the lights while we were still at our table gathering our things; it was only a little after their 2pm closing time. It felt like we were being rushed out rather than thanked for our business. As for the food--it was just okay. My own dish was bland, but other plates and drinks were said to be decent. Still, the quality of service completely overshadowed any positives. We won't be returning. Dining out should feel welcoming, not like you're a burden. Town's End missed the mark. read more

A great place to start the morning quick , effective and friendly service (that use Yelp Waitlist!) Decent prices and a good selection of delicious food. They even bake their now family recipe pastry and cakes. I had an orange coconut pound cake it was so good. We decided on an avocado toast and all was just perfect crispy bread and back on pieces with a nice avocado mouse topped by a perfectly cooled poached egg.
