PLEASE BEWARE ! Junk Cars & Terrible service . Sold me a used 2021 Kia k5 less than a month ago & assured by Geno everything was ok with it after they had to keep it an extra day or two. Come two weeks later, my brakes and rotors had to be replaced. Brought it back for the whole day after was told I needed a wheel alignment also. Interrupted work schedule. Now here we are two weeks after that, my struts are terrible and my car is making a popping sound everytime I go over a speed bump and my car may not be ready for one to two days . They are NOT providing me with a loaner car in the middle of a storm while I work way in San francisco. Not to mention was provided with a letter stating my loan was DENIED after ABID provided me with paperwork saying that I was approved and they could not tell me who is financing my car. Very very very upset ! Definitely going to take legal action . Can not fathom this terrible customer service ! Their used cars are lemons that you will continuously have to bring back to them to be serviced adding more and more miles on your car & having to wait for days to get it back because their service department is so "busy" which screams a lot ! *UPDATE AS OF 01/15/2023* So I was told that my car would not be ready for 1-2 days . Got a call right back saying that my car had a huge dent in the front and that I must've done it or "the person who dropped my car off". Sabbeth or however you spell his name was very rude & acted very ladylike and was disrespectful. Mike then called me back & told me I wasn't getting the car back because I WAS NOT APPROVED but they will give me a full refund. Left work early to get a rental car & drove to Tracy vw where no one had anything to say ( never even found out who sabbeth was because every employee that was there was too afraid unlike how they were on the phone)... however received my full down payment back & had them write a letter stating they will not charge me.. I know what is being thought .. if I put a huge dent in the car, why am I getting my money back? One nice guy who I didn't even get his name heard me out and assisted & I appreciate him. Recently purchased a used Passat from the dealership. I started the process online, so the car was ready to look at when my family arrived. The process was relatively smooth, when compared to my other Car Dealership experiences. I repeatedly asked for service records during the sales process and they weren't provided. The sales staff also verbally confirmed that the car was serviced when it was taken in. After a couple of weeks I decided to check the oil and filters and they were obviously not changed when the car was taken in by the Dealership. I proceeded to try to rectify this with the Sales staff and they haven't provided the records or the resolve the service that wasn't completed. I expect more from a Dealership. read more

I came down here on August 4th, 2022 to look at trading my car in for a newer, but used same model. They had it ready, warmed up, and out front before I pulled in. The staff was very kind and patient with lots of a good banter and rapport building, but unfortunately my heart and gut were just not in the car. I'm a picky guy and can be severely meticulous when it comes to my car, but this didn't phase either Thomas (sales manager) or Chad (salesman). They weren't pushy, totally understood, and offered to put me on a "wishlist" and will call me if they find any cars that meet my criteria. I usually severely dread going to dealerships to do anything. I'd rather pull my own teeth; however, I did not feel that way here. The day we bought - salesman Jonathan assured us that Tracy VW has a great rep, and an incredible service team, they go above and beyond to fix issues and inspect the vehicle before it is given to the customer. Told us all of the bodywork that was marked with chalk circles would be fixed, thinterior would be detailed, and mechanical any issues would be corrected. Gave us the confidence to buy... Van was delayed being delivered to us, but it was because Service went above and beyond to fix an internal check engine light issue. Very positive! We did not mind the extra couple of days of delay and we're thankful for TVW covering the est. $1700 repair that would have caused us issues later. Silvano oversaw this process. When van was delivered, we noticed the day after some shakiness while the vehicle is on the interstate and also, a big paint gash in the front bumper that we obviously did NOT do. Also, a circle on the pass-side view shows a repair that should have been completed. The van had been detailed but still had a lot of dirt in the vents and other areas. The tires were low. SHOULD have been ZERO glaring body / mechanical issues. Friday, 3/10 just before 5 pm texted Safi about the issues and sent photos. This brings up something else: no one was clear about who to contact if we had any issues. Somewhere along the way, the repairs and delivery process got handed off from Jonathan to Safi. So I reach out to Safi. No response. I had to message him AGAIN on Monday morning 3/13. His response... "Jonathan didn't get back to you"? Me: No. Safi: "Ok bring in tomorrow morning (To Tracy) and we'll take care of the paint and alignment issues" Highly inconvenient for us, but ok. Brought it back Tuesday 3/14 and Joe made a note to fix the supposed "alignment" issues and repair the bumper. They kept it until Friday afternoon... Silvano called back on Wednesday or Thursday to inform us that there was actually a tire on the vehicle that was the WRONG SIZE and therefore causing the shakiness. Had to order the tire. It was completed last Friday around 3:30 PM. I insisted that they deliver the van to us because we did not feel like we had a quality experience getting it the first time. Friday 3/17 the moment the service guy dropped it off, noticed the front bumper paint issue HAD STILL NOT BEEN FIXED. He calls Silvano who tells him to communicate to us that we need to bring it back in Tuesday morning "first thing" to have it done and it would take one to two hours, and I could wait on it. 1) He should have called me back right away to apologize for missing such a clear and obvious repair that I took it there for in the first place. So I called Service back that same day because I wanted to express my dissatisfaction about the whole process with Silvano. No return phone call. 2) I Should not have been the one to call TVW. Monday 3/20, I call the service department again and asked for Silvano so I could confirm my Tuesday Appt and work to be done. Anything I need to know? E.G. TVW should have said "if it's raining, we are not going to be able to do the repair properly. Just a heads up...." He was busy so I left a voicemail. No return phone call. Tuesday 3/21, because I did not receive a callback, I came "first thing" at 7:30 AM because I was told to. I have a 10 am staff meeting back in Livermore so I need to get this done! Went out of my way to arrive early. Learned that their paint guy doesn't arrive till 9-9:30 am.... Because it was raining, was given the option to just do a touchup or, AGAIN, bring it back on a day when it's not raining so they can do the bumper correctly. I opted for option two as I want it done correctly. None of us can control the weather, but it was the lack of communication beforehand that was unacceptable. In conclusion, Tracy Volkswagen has done an overall poor job making sure our vehicle was in top-notch, mechanical, and aesthetic condition before delivering us the van. What makes it even more ironic is that we paid cash out the door for the van! Communication has been poor, and disjointed, and there appears to be no communication or coordination between the service and sales department, who I understand handles the paint jobs.... We have had to make multiple trips to Tracy at times that are inconvenient for us, be without our van for days at a time, and as of today, a completely wasted trip. As I stated at the beginning, I do expect TVW to make things right for us by finishing the repairs, but also going above and beyond to offer us additional or extended perks beyond the lifetime warranty and two-year free maintenance. Jonathan made it a point to talk about how much better TVW is than Carmax, who we have gone with so many times before but we took a chance on TVW. I have yet to see how the overall experience is better. At this point, we would return to Carmax and never shop from TVW or recommend it to anyone. read more

Won't do business here again. I can no longer trust the service department after recent events. I took in my VW Touareg for its 80k mile service, an $800 service. 1 week later, the morning after my wedding... I have to stop at a gas station because I'm running low on coolant and need to add more. The car took a whole liter of coolant. Didn't notice a leak yet just thought maybe the dealer forgot to fill it. Then exactly a week later the light comes on again. So I fill it back up and schedule a service appointment. Again in exactly one week the light comes on. Now I've never had a problem with the coolant at all, but just after a service appointment it starts having problems? And the service department is going to deny any fault?! Give me a break! I could go into more detail but don't see the point, they are caused this issue or missed it during the inspection, either way they can't be trusted to do their jobs. read more

So buying a car right now may seem a little scary, but interest rates are low! The entire process was quick and handled very well in the current climate. I was helped by Alex, if you want a painless process and someone that works hard - this is your guy. -Edit- If you want to be financed though, go somewhere else. I still don't have any of my registration papers, my trade in took well over a month for them to send a check for the buy off. I was told I would have 6 months deferred payments and now am being told I have to call in for 4 months and say I was affected by COVID, when in reality this isn't my job! I was shopping for a newer model Mustang GT and found that VW Tracy had one with low miles, factory warranty, lifetime Powertrain warranty, 1-owner, and all previous services listed on the CarFax. I told them I wanted to come down and test drive it but will most likely not purchase it unless there was some miracle they could get me out of my current lease from my 2018 VW Jetta, which I was very upside down because of all the miles I put on. Geno was the sales specialist that contacted me. Chill and relaxed guy. He told me we I could schedule a test drive through him. I gave Geno a call and told him I was coming and when I got there, the car was waiting for me to test drive it. Geno was very friendly and knowledgeable about cars, we spoke about what previous sports cars we've owned. Geno also gave me peace of mind, they have a Ford dealership across from them where they brought over that Mustang for inspection, and any necessary work to be done before it was listed for sale. The sticker price of the Mustang GT was raised when I got to the dealership, but I told Geno it was listed for a cheaper price and he honored that. He also gave me more for my trade-in to help get me out of the slump. We negotiated for roughly a hour and he got me very close to the payments I was looking for, so I pulled the trigger! I was very happy with the entire experience. He was very transparent with all the add-ons on top of the price on the car (GAP, Extended Warranty, Anti Theft Services, etc.) I told him I want to choose the add-ons and that's how we were able to get me a great deal. Justin, the finance guy was also very friendly! He made the entire process of filling out paperwork very smoothly. Great guy to have a conversation with! This company is a scam selling used vehicles (not sure about new one)! Bait and switch. Scam 1: The "complementary lifetime powertrain warranty*" is a lie. Please note that "*" = "see dealer for details", and when you arrived, the answer is "your selected vehicle does not qualify". This ad is just to lure you to go there, since Tracy is far from major bay area population. When you complain, the deal manager just say "I did not put the ad"... Scam 2: Dealer applied "protective coating" interior, applied a small piece of protective film at handle area to prevent scratches. Want to charge extra XX hundreds of the dollars on top of the ad price. When you complain, the deal manager just say "every dealer did the same thing, otherwise, we cannot compete!" I'll start by saying, I got into an accident that totaled my old car (which ran fine and I planned on using for another 5 years) prior to shopping for a new car. Needless to say, I was desperate for a car so I could keep my job that would inevitably pay for whatever vehicle I got. So when I first reviewed this place, I was caught up in the high of buying a new car. I thought I'd gotten off with a decent deal on a car that was pretty well taken care of, was newer than my previous cars, and had decently low mileage on it. The problem is I ignored all the red flags slapping my in the face because of that excitement. First red flag: the listed price for the car was $17,998. Understandably this was excluding taxes and fees. What did I end up paying for the car? More than $23,000. My excuse? The guy I worked with said they paid way more for it so they were losing money on the car and I felt bad. I should've went with my gut and walked away, but I didn't. Dumb of me. I'll take that. Second red flag: the add one. The reason why the price jumped so high is because they kept adding on all these "accessories" that they list as optional in the contract, but tell you they aren't optional because they're already on the car and can't take them off (they didn't tell me they physically couldn't take them off until the third time I tried to reason with them on the price). Well, I still bought the car. Fine. Dumb of me. I'll take that too. Third red flag (be on the lookout at other places too, common sales tactic): they do this play where as soon as you start negotiations, the sales guy you work with steps away for a second and tags in the "finance guy" and that's the guy who's job is to basically "logic" you out of your original negotiation. They'll pull whatever they have to, including running your credit under less favorable conditions to show you that what you're asking for isn't what they're going to give you. This is where my poker face failed me. I really liked the car, just not the gimmicks they were playing. But either way, I still bought the damn car. All because it was better than not having a job. Even after buying the car when I tried to get the guys to take off the "accessories" I clearly wasn't using, I basically got a "well either you keep the car or give it back", which I knew meant they'd still be getting money out of me either way, and I needed a car to get to and from my job, so no real negotiation there. So I'm stuck with a used car with 43,000 miles on it that I paid a "new car" price for. Now if you're reading this far in (thank you for your attention) you've probably gathered that this isn't where the problems end. And you're right. I'm still dealing with this place. Because there's a problem with the driver's side window that I've been trying to to get fixed since November. I bought the car at the end of October. I'm so over this place. There's like one good apple in this mound of bad ones. And I'm just trying to get my car fixed so I can be done with this place. But they keep giving me the runaround every time I go there. Honestly not sure where to go with this, so if anyone has any good ideas, I'm all ears. Wish me luck and thank you for reading my incredibly long and frustrating experience with this place. Rolando is a man of his word, very hard to find now days, he explained what was wrong with our car and immediately got his team to work on it. I purchased a used car...the process was pretty seamless so not to much to critique there. I had a minor issue with the vehicle after I purchased it that the dealership was happy to correct. I was able to bring the car back and they gave me a rental until they corrected it. Staff is super friendly from the salesperson Jonathan, to the managers Mike, used car manager Safi, and finance people. Everyone was kind, courteous, and professional.
