I love everything about Trader Joes! I love their food! I love their prices! I love how friendly their cashiers are! (People stocking shelves are another story) I love their free samples! Parking could be better, but that's not Trader Joes fault. But one thing that bothered me on a recent visit is that they had an electric scooter blocking the fire exit near the restrooms. This Trader Joe's has a big lot and there's also a Safeway, Walgreens, Baskin Robbin, and Slider's nearby. Whenever I go to TJ's, I go all out on the snacks: soy crisps, veggie chips, white cheddar popcorn, Hawaiian BBQ potato chips, etc. The list goes on and on, but those are the ones I mainly get, and costing about $2 (more or less) per bag! Now that's a good deal! Snacks (excluding fruit and veggie sticks) are never "healthy" but at least TJ's snacks are "not as bad." Mainly baked, air popped, reduced fat, or kettle cooked. Some of their frozen foods I've tried include Morningstar Farms products, other meatless products, gyoza, naan, pizzas, and pastas. Pretty good if you're in a rush and don't have time to cook up a meal. One TJ's product I don't agree with about the price is their plastic boxed candies above the frozen/refrigerated foods. They're delicious and addicting, but not worth $5+. Oh, and always go to the free sample station before you leave! read more

The TJ crew here is super friendly and goofy...I love it! They joke around with each other and are very friendly and approachable if you need help with your selections/finding a particular item. This location feels smaller in that they stock less than other TJ stores, but more spacious. There is hardly any congestion between aisles or in lines compared to the Stonestown location. And I have to agree that the samples here are better than the one at Stones. Usually at Stones, it may be a salad or something from their frozen selection, but here, I'm usually rewarded by cheese samples like the ultra creamy brie they had today...I even asked for a slice with more of the rind and the sample dude was impressed that someone my age had an appreciation for it....and noted how sad he is that he typically has to throw away the rinds. read more

Nice little store, but the parking lot is horrible. This place gets packed and are always full of people who cannot drive on top of that is a narrow lot. Avoid the parking in front of here and on the other side towards Starbucks. Avoid buying the mystery beer. I made the mistake of buying a bag today. The bag was filled with 6 cans of beers and 4 bottles. The can beer was their cheap $3.99 6 pack beers and the bottle stuff was about the same quality. All this for $7.49. read more

I'm rating 5 stars b/c I love TJ's and their concept, however, please note that on the weekends, their parking is hellish. I take my gramma there to buy groceries every few weeks so that she can stock up on food. It was raining that day and who knew that on a rainy day, everyone and anyone was out there. It can get pretty busy in the store at certain times. I've tried to note when are the busiest times and when it's slow. So far, everyone comes in the afternoon. Noonish isn't too bad. Every cashier stand is open so it makes the line go that much faster. With Trader Joe's you can get your essentials cheaper than at the regular market for milk, butter, cheese, tortillas, peanut butter, etc. I'm so relieved that they moved stores b/c the original one was just too small to accomodate the customers, however, because they're redoing and upgrading the plaza with more mainstream and hip stores, the parking has become a nightmare. read more

I love TJ's at this locale, convenient and easy parking if you don't mind a walk, which I don't. That said, their bathrooms are horrendous. It smells like someone threw up and urinated all over..but doesn't look like it. Perhaps they clean up, but let's disinfect too please. I always try to leave a bathroom cleaner than when I came in i.e. pick up stray towels and tissues and wash my hands vigorously! But I can't do anything about the odor. I give it a 3 because the frozen meals and some desserts just doesn't seem to taste right to me. I mean, I understand why they have those products but it's just not my taste. However, I do like their fresh produce. They also have a nice staff... the manager was kind enough to help me look for some stuff on my list. The majority of cashiers are either professional or indifferent but not mean. All, I would have said, EXCEPT for the girl who wears the dumb-looking neck scarf. She definitely plays up to the male customers and employees but is quite rude and unprofessional to the female population. The few times I've witnessed her behavior - seems to have a dislike for women of color. Store manager, take note, this could present a liability for you and the company so get her into some sensitivity/diversity training quick! I do not buy produce or meat from this location because of the spoilage factor - too quick. They do stock up well on all their non-perishable or dry/canned goods and parking is relatively easy to find depending on the day and time of day you visit. read more

GOING ORGANIC!!!! I always saw Trader Joe's but never walked in here. Until one day I was in search a bottle of Grey Goose. Safeway was out of GG so I thought Trader Joe's may have it. But then it hit, everythings organic. I started try one item here and there. From time to time I started to find my self shopping here. And sooner then you know it, my diet is 80% organic/all natural. Who knew searching for a bottle of Grey Goose can change your ways. haha. The prices at Trader Joe's is amazing. I love almost everything about this place. EXCEPT... they lack organic rice. I had bought a pack of Organic Jasmine Rice from Thailand and I loved it. Parking here at this location is much easier than parking at the one on Masonic, and I happily come here even though the trek over is further out for me. This store also seems more spacious and I'm not easily irritated by all the bumper to bumper shopping cart traffic that usually happens. Super cool friendly staff and one even got a kid sized cart for my little one, that was super sweet and she was so excited. My only gripe is that I wish they offered a bigger selection of organic produce, like packaged organic butternut squash, zuchinni, etc. But nonetheless, I'm happy with their selections and still a happy shopper. read more

I like the way social distancing and capacity is enforced here for safety. You can find a lot of niche products you can't find anywhere else. Prices are good and service was nicer than most other stores I've visited. Safety is a priority here, and I feel more comfortable while shopping. Parking is more available here than in the city. YAS! Love, love, love this Trader Joe's. I swap back and forth this location and Stonestown TJ - but have come to prefer Westlake due to larger space. Because this location has more shelf space, I feel like they are better stocked. I mean - if you come on Saturday afternoon, that's your dumb ass for going at a popular time. I don't know what else to say about that. But weekend mornings or early evenings, I can usually find many things on the shelves - something Stonestown was having issues with. In addition, parking is never an issue. You might not find close parking but you can always find parking further back near Chipotle. Unless you are obese, this walk is totally manageable. As for the patrons... I mean, people are people. No one cares wtf you're doing because they are just as confused about where TJ keeps things. BUT, this place is roomy. My favorite grocery store! The staff is very helpful, and they usually restock items pretty quickly. I love the variety of frozen foods and desserts that Trader Joe's has and their variety of healthy options. My dad always brought us here way back then (more than 20 years ago was my first time here and the location was on the other side of the mall.) My sister and I always love the Fruit and Nuts Cadbury's Chocolates but they don't sell them anymore. Still, it has not change our love for this company. Not gonna get tired coming here everyday because the crews are awesome plus their coffees and varieties of samples are delicious. Aaaaaaaaaaand I'm here to tell you what the absolute best Trader Joe brand coffee is, after trying many of them, we are stuck on SHADE GROWN whole bean organic DARK FRENCH ROASTED. This is probably the TJ's that I shop at more than any other. On today's shopping trip I was calling my wife to see what I needed to pick up and while I'm on the phone my daughter tries to get my attention; Dad! Just a minute hon, what else do we need? Sea salt? OK. Daad!! Stuff for the kid's lunches? OK check. Daaddyyy!!!! What else? Yeah, I got the milk and the (what is that thing she's holding??) Soyrizo and creamer and...... DAD I FOUND THE TIKI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told my wife I'd call her back and hung up the phone. The Tiki is important mojo. For kids under 12 they have a Tiki Idol hidden somewhere in the store (do they do this at all TJ's? I have no idea) so that when a kid finds it they get to go up to the customer service counter and pick a free prize out of a basket. The treasure to be had on this day was a roll of TJ's brand pineapple lifesavers. I really liked the way the folks in customer service smiled when my daughter was marching up there with her trophy in hand. You make my kid happy, then you make me happy too. Lesson #1 Not all Trader Joe's are created equal..... Not sure if they are catering to a particular market or what but this location had a godawful selection of trail mix - they were only like 4 or 5 varieties yet there were shelves upon shelves of the same bags. Had to go to a different TJs to find the Trail Mix I was looking for & that kind of defeats the purpose And that's not the only thing they seemed to be lacking - I was proud to score the very last box of Veggie Masala Burgers so at least the trip wasn't completely in vain Lesson #2 Bigger doesn't always mean better..... Because I despise shopping and value my sanity, this is the Trader Joe's to which I would make special trips when I used to live in San Francisco. Now that I live much closer, it naturally is still the TJ's that I most often visit. They have an actual (free) parking lot right in front. And if that one's too crowded, there's the backup covered, multifloor garage (also free) across the street. Ahhh the American burbs. We've got sprawl folks, and it comes in handy in times like these. Recently, I've noticed they're making an attempt to increase the amount of organic goods they sell at this particular location. Nice. I'll support that. Current TJ's favorite products? - Tofu blintzes (way better than they sound, top with sugared berries!) - Dried wild blueberries for oatmeal - Peanut butter sandwich crackers - Nigori saki Come for the parking, stay for the good, inexpensive food, leave with your cognitive abilities still intact. read more

While the experience was still nice, it just wasn't the same. I mean, this TJ's had really wide aisles and unlike the last couple of times I've seen you, basil. Having been in SF most of the day, it was getting late and we knew we couldn't return home empty handed for fear of upsetting my kitties. I just LOVE this grocery store chain! I tend to come to this TJ (store #74) more often than any other location. In general love the quality and variety of products, so I always like to check the new products shelf. Also love the friendly service, the staff is really nice here. Really great convenient shopping mall location - shop at nearby stores (Walgreen's, Linens 'n Things, World Market, Home Depot, video rentals, etc.) and late dining options too (burgers, pasta, salads, fried chicken, Vietnamese pho, etc.), with plenty of parking. TJs got me addicted to so many things...veggie chips, frozen fruits, hummus, trying different cheeses w/ my pita crackers...and though I don't really like chocolate (pause for all the gasps), I still recommend the chocolate truffles here to all the normal people out there LOL. Now, I understand that this particular TJs can have some pretty crappy parking but (knock on wood) I always seem to find parking easy enough. But their staff are always helpful, they know their products and where anything is located in the store. I don't think I've ever waited unexpectedly long in any cashier line. And TJs eco-friendly grocery bags are the only ones I own. I'll always come back to any location, but particularly this one since it's more convenient for me, and am open to try anything from here...feel free to send recommendations. =) read more

I love TJs. I don't care if you put it in the far outskirts of SF or in another state, I love them. The parking lot here is a little rough, because they basically created a funneling effect in directing drivers down the small stretch of a shared path, but once in you are in. I'd recommend leaving your car and walking all over this megaplex. TJ's has great dried goods as well boxed items and frozen goods that are of good quality and relatively affordable. I'm a bit on the fence about their produce, since I have been in receipt of some tomatoes but one of them had begun to go soft. Despite this, TJ's is always great when it comes to returns and other locations have easily refunded or exchanged in the event the item is not up to par. Lines are long at times, but they are efficient and they move quickly. I walked out with a bag of their frozen green beans, threw it in my trunk and trotted over to DSW, located on the other side of the parking lot. read more

Even though the parking situation can get a bit whacked (I parked ALL the way to the back today), most of the time I go to this TJ's (mid-afternoon) it's not that bad. Most importantly, the patrons are the most chill at this TJ's location. Maybe it's because it's closer to the ocean. Maybe people in Daly city are more chill. Who knows? Even though the TJ's on Masonic is closer to me, there are tons of crazy house wives or absent-minded retirees there that try the patience of even this mild-mannered teacher. "Do you have to park your cart in front of ALL the produce, indefinitely?! And get off the cell phone and pay attention to your bratty little kid!" Okay, back to this TJ's.
