Yay! A Trader Joe's closer to riverpark. I actually find some pretty cool stuff here. But the main reason I come to Trader Joe's are for their flowers. They're decently priced & I like to pick my flowers out, and create my own bouquet. Rather than just buying one already curated for me. However at this location their flower selection is lacking. We love Trader Joes and walking into this one made us have a bit of dejavu because this location is set up very similarly to one we've been to in Arizona. We were stocking up for our trip to Yosemite and needed a bunch of food from here. As always Trader Joes delivered for us. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but I'm still pretty annoyed over the relocation of this particular TJs. I used to be a regular customer, and now ironically, the store is actually closer to me, but I refuse to shop there. Now I go to Vons and Wholefoods. I'm sure this store will do fine in the new location - but it sacrificed its long standing customer base and the community it served for more money, and I think that's a pretty sh*t thing to do. I love this store! It's always so busy and crowded when I go but it is soooo worth it. Every employee there is so friendly and welcoming. It's right night to CYCLEBAR which I go to everyday so this could mean trouble! I was confused if this store was Abercrombie and fitch or was it a Trader Joes, cause the chic's and dudes that work here are like genetically fortunate, almost model like and fit looking too probably from all that trader joes goodness. Its not just the people that are good looking, even the store is cute ! If you ever look on their walls and take notice, you will notice how unique this store is from any other stores, it has the beautiful painted mural of the Fresno name all over its high 15 feet wall, ALRIGHT! Im getting off track here, to put it simply the Trader Joe's brand is diversity on steroid, Trader Joe's is a quiet, private and savvy grocery retailer that everyone falls in love with. Their store isn't that big, but their selection, oh my god, can anyone say "amazing" everything from exotic ingredients to basic asian ingredients to even gourmet foods, they even have really good selection of non toxic cleaner and non toxic toiletries and beauty products. If you live in a big city, and there's a Trader Joe's nearby, you probably know that rush hour there is a madhouse. Since so many urbanites like shopping for cheap, healthy (or at least healthy-looking) food in a nautical-themed atmosphere, peak hours such as weekday evenings and Sunday afternoons find the produce section packed, the aisles clogged, the refrigerated sections swarmed. Luckily in Fresno, that only happens on weekend, so most of the time, Trader joes is a grocery heaven. Their non-conventional culturally-tailored approach and attitude is one that is deeply embedded in the roots of their business model and that makes them so unique: from their packaging, product selection, store layout and graphics, to their vendors, employees and management. Dear Trader Joes. I love you for the following reasons: your delicious, yet healthier versions of chips and snack foods, garlic hummus...YUM, inexpensive brown eggs and milk, great selection of quick frozen appetizers and pizzas, grilling and marinating sauces that make my cooking experiences a whole lot easier and tasty as hell, scones-cookies-and sweets to satisfy any dessert fiend and of course your fantastic selection of beer and fresh flowers. However, I do have one request...get a damn checkout COUNTER like every other grocery store! I can't stand waiting in line (and there is alwaaays a line) while not being able to unload my groceries. It would help the lines move faster! And for the life of me, I can't figure out what you have against checkout counters in the first place! But for now I forgive you. I want to preface this by saying that I really love Trader Joe's. It seems that they have a lot of the same stuff as Whole Foods, but usually at a more reasonable price, not to mention a lot of their Trade Joe's branded products are of a really good quality. But one thing I hate is the parking lot. It seems like every other person who comes here to shop, somehow automatically becomes befreit of all sense and can no longer do something as simple as navigate a parking lot. I can't tell you how many times I have yelled in frustration as someone seems completely unable to do such simple tasks as enter or leave the parking lot, park their car, or back out. It really is one of the worst parking lots in town, much like the inside of the store. This bring me to my next complaint about this location, the inside is freaking TINY. Everything is so crammed together that it makes just getting around inside the store a bit of a pain. And because its so small inside, the employees have had to be creative in how they stock product, because you find items in odd places, so items aren't always where you think they would be. (Protip: If you cant find what you are looking for, chances are its on one of the shelves over the refrigerated coolers.) Also because of the small size of the store, it makes likes at the register a bit of a chore. They never seem to have enough cashiers for the volume of customers, so the lines are always long, and they always run in to the produce aisle, making navigating that section a pain. Trader Joe's is one of those outfits whose entire concept is built around the accessibility and sheer enjoyment of great food--where it can come from (anywhere), what it can taste like (anything--take your pick), how affordable it can be (very) and how you can take it home to your kitchen tonight and really enjoy yourself. It is at once globally minded, organically inclined, but locals-focused. From a business model perspective and from a "customer as owner" perspective, it does not get better. You don't just shop there--you become a devoted follower. Some legendary TJ favorites: (1) Chariot and Black Mountain Malbec wines: the best you'll ever buy for less than 5 bucks. (2) Dark Chocolate Chip and Macadamia Nut Cookies. Criminally good and only $1.99. (3) Pita Bite Crackers: the unquestioned king of dipping (4) Cookie Joys: Please bring back these gnarled chocolate minty chunks of heaven. Where do I stop? Not everything is great but most is and they are always rotating out the bad and keeping most of the good. A total winner. I am all for democratic voting and valuing a diversity of opinions, but Trader Joe's is my exception. If you do not like it, something is seriously wrong with you. read more

Honestly, I don't understand all the great reviews here. If we are reviewing the food, I definitely would have given this place more stars but my review is solely based on customer service. A lot of reviews are stating that the workers are so nice and friendly but when I went on a Sunday evening, none of the staff were helpful. They did not even acknowledge my existence. I passed by several workers when shopping and not one asked me if I needed help. I went to the same aisle 2 or 3 times trying to look for something and the staff that was stocking items on that aisle did not say anything to me. Where's the great customer service reviewers are talking about?! After several minutes circling the store and trying to find stuff, I was ready to check out. The male cashier (wish I could remember his name) had no enthusiasm. He sounded like a robot just reciting greetings."Hi. How are you today?". I felt as if he didn't even want to converse with me. It could just be that he was tired but then again if they had such *great* customer service, he should still try to be enthusiastic and friendly. Overall, I was severely disappointed with the workers at this new location. I don't know if they are just stuck up or racist but I won't be coming back. Such a shame because I love the food and snacks that Traders Joe's offer but I am not going to allow myself to be treated like I'm nothing. read more

I love Trader Joe's. They have a good selection of wine. Their Charles Shaw is pretty good, and it's only $1.99!! I like their salads and sushi. They have good prices on their dried fruits. Terrible, rude service. First time coming here, and it'll be my last. Went up to pay at register. Moved my mask down for 1 second to itch my face and the employee told me to move my mask back up above my nose. Last time I checked I had the right to reposition my mask. I love shopping at Trader Joe's. I go there every Sunday afternoon and do the majority of my grocery shopping there. I love the selection of items that they have including some of the finer things and organic products at very reasonable prices. I genuinely look forward to grocery shopping, as the store puts me in a good mood. Nothing like a free coffee sample, taste of a new food (samples in the back of the store daily) and an actual FRIENDLY cashier to make me feel like customer service is in fact NOT dead. I am sure I will shop there for years to come. Buying my groceries at Trader Joe's (and getting some of the big name brand stuff at Target) has cut my weekly grocery bill significantly. read more

Trader Joes has a broad selection of organic foods, frozen goods, and desserts. I like everything with the exception of the breads. Unless you eat entire bags of bagels and loaves of bread in two days or less, don't buy them here. If you do, prepare to wake up on day three looking at white fuzz and green spots on what should have been breakfast. I'd give them five stars if not for that. BTW is there a Trader Joes on the planet that isn't overcrowded with lousy parking? Haven't found one yet from here to Portland and Beaverton Ore. I was in town for the weekend staying in a local hotel and wanted healthy munchies to keep in my room, so of course the first place I thought of was Trader Joe's! Trader Joes carries a variety of fresh fruits and veggies. They also carry dairy products like yogurt (Greek yogurt is my favorite) and cheeses. They also carry beer and wine; they are known for their affordable yet quite drinkable private label wines known affectionately by the nickname "two-buck-Chuck". For quick and easy hotel munchies it's hard to beat their nuts and dried fruits. They carry a good selection of bakery products, breads, muffins, and pitas. You can pick up humus and tzatziki to go with the pitas or pick up sandwich fixings to go with the breads. Their Zen muffins are one of my favorite no-fuss breakfast items. For quick no-prep/no-cook simple meals they have pre-prepared salads (my favorite is the light Greek salad with crumbled feta), sushi (California rolls), and wraps. Trader Joes is well known for carrying ethnic foods, organic foods, and gluten-free products. What may not be as well known is that they also have very affordable prices on these an other items, unlike other stores like Whole Foods that charge a premium for these items. There was ample parking at this location, so that's not a problem either. I give this Trader Joe's a big thumbs up! read more

Tons of salad choices, good samples, lots of meat and a decent selection of booze - which being in a hotel I'm usually limited to twist off of whatever I get! This Trader Joes has the worst parking lot ever!!! I'm always afraid of someone hitting my car. It's very tight and busy. This location is always packed inside, too. It's a small store and all the people bustling around inside makes me just want to hurry up and get what I need and get out ASAP. However, even if I want to get out ASAP it's a little difficult since the lines are always astronomically long. At least the cashiers are always cheerful and entertaining. My cashier was singing the whole time today. The TJ brand 100% cranberry juice and Dixie Peach juice are my absolute favorites!!! There is also a wonderful selection of cheeses, hummus, and Pita chips. read more

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite grocery stores. I think this location was one of the first stores. The employees are always very nice at this location and helpful. I have always liked this one the best (back when it was the only one in Fresno and also now even when there's another one in the area). It gets kinda crazy in there though when it is really busy. The parking lot is a pain to park in. But still like this location the best. The bread at TJ is dry and doesn't last too long in the fridge. It also tastes too sweet than what I like in bread. But as for the cheeses, convenience foods (sandwiches, salads, wraps, etc), freezer items, fridge items, fridge juices, shelf staples, and shelf juices are all excellent tasting and at a good price. read more

I had made the trip from Visalia to Trader Joe's and it was worth it, but would love to have one in my town to save on gas, auto emissions, and 99 traffic! Plus, it would be great to bring the revenue to our fair city. The very handsome young Asian gentleman who politely encouraged me to his station for checkout was a pure delight! He engaged me in conversation, was amazed I had driven there just for the few items purchased, and would be the reason I'd return! His spirit is beautiful, and he's an asset to TJ's! read more

I usually go to the location in Clovis however on Thursday I was in Fresno & I decided to stop and do some grocery shopping. Everything was going good until I was done and was going to the register to pay. This employee that was on the register literally made me stay all the way to the back to almost the wall & wait to pay but didn't do the same to the individuals that were before me. She had a very upset face the whole time an gave me attitude. Trader Joe's on this location should really look into who they bring to work to their store. Don't think I'll be coming back. read more

I can't comment about the old Blackstone location because I never went to that one. I can say that this location is nice--which it should be given the fact that it's brand new. It also helps it's located in one of the more affluent areas of Fresno. Plenty of parking, and never feels overcrowded in the lot. The store itself is comparable to every other single Trader Joe's I've been to. I've been to all of them in the South Bay Area (San Jose area) and the 2 locations in Fresno/Clovis. They all have some layout difference, but for the most part have the same Trader Joe's feel across the border. Staff is also as expected being courteous and nice. With all of the same, there is a reason why I deducted a star. I've been to this location a few times--since it's closer than the Clovis location, and in those few times they always seem to be running out of something. One occasion it was eggs, another it was the Cookie Butter Ice cream! Those are important things! Then I go to the Willow/Clovis location and they are in stock. It could be because this location not only serves NE fresno, but pretty much everything west of it. And we all know North Fresnans love their Trader Joe's. So yea, thats why the minus 1 star, because it seems like this location can be prone to missing crucial products. read more

They turned their back on central Fresno (Old Figarden, Bullard, Hoover neighborhoods) by relocating the original location north of Herndon (now BOTH stores are north of Herndon). Very disappointing considering there are many locations and empty buildings in the central area that could've been remodeled/designed to fit Trader Joe's needs. It's convenient to my house and has a lot of good food. I like the produce because it tastes more like what you'd get at a good Farmer's Market. The check out is fast enough for me. I've never waited more than 5 minutes. The staff is courteous enough. Only the ones at the register are chatty though. The customers are another story. If you don't look like you live well north of Shaw or in that neighborhood east on Barstow, they scatter like rose petals in a Santa Ana wind while clutching their handbags tightly. Trader Joe's is awesome. I wish they carried everything I needed. I love their gorgonzola gnocci, peppered turkey lunchmeat, all of their juices, vitamins, yogurt, and lots more. I have had very few products I didn't like. Unfortunately this store is small, and parking is terrible. Maneuvering the store is akin to playing Frogger, and despite the great atmosphere and positive attitudes of the workers, I never seem to fail to be stuck behind some rude people. Checking out is also a gigantic pain. Some days these minor detractions keep me from shopping there, but I normally shop there as much as I can. read more
