Trader Joe is my go to place for food; especially this location! They have recently enlarged the space and make it very comfortable to walk around & shop. My favorite food is the whole wheat pita bread with pockets. Another of my favorite food is salads. They have so many choices that you can pick; you will never get tired of it. Also like their fair trade organic Colombian Coffee!!! I will also buy their coffee creamer (French Vanilla) for my coffee. Absolutely delicious!! Hello, I always buy from this store Trader Joe's and I put up with them for a long time because I finally want the products, but today I got to the point of putting up with it more. I was in line, the boy saw me and moved to help the other cashier. They were laughing and looking for me with their eyes to see where I went. I reported it to the manager and he did nothing. I felt discriminated against because I was a Latina and because of my age, I am an adult of 60 years old and I am not going to allow this abuse. Staff are always so friendly here and willing to help. This place gets crowded on weekends but if you come at the right time (later in the day or early morning) you have a better chance of missing crowds. Product selection is also great and the lines move pretty quick. I really do love the quality of products offered here too, it's a nice change from the regular supermarkets. read more

I love Trader Joe's, but not this one so much. The parking lot is the worst and the existence of this store is the reason why. This location is small and always so incredibly crowded! With long lines. I don't blame the employees, it's not their fault. Shoppers just behave as though there isn't another Trader's Joe's for hundreds of miles. And when they check out, they block the small entranceway out with their shopping carts for who knows what reason. Restroom: None. Parking: The worst! But free. read more

Helpful staff as always, and they seem to be taking the pandemic seriously. There was a staff member sanitizing shopping carts out front and one standing at the door to enforce masks. It's a smaller store so it's hard to distance but they didn't let it get too crowded either. The shelves are well-stocked though the best items are sold out as usual...My love, the pecan pie bar, why hast thou forsaken me?? Dramatics aside, I've never had a not good experience at any TJs and this location is no exception. Thanks to Craig for the Trader Joe's gift card! I was able to use it on gifts to bring home! Trader Joe's products are highly valued in Hawaii because this company will not come to The Fiftieth State. The shipping would put them out of business! That's why I'd rather not tell my family that I'm going to the mainland because they will give me their Wish Lists and ask me to shop for them... haha! My mom likes the Kitchen Towels. They're reusable and washable. She gave so many away as gifts to her friends. My nieces like the Butter Wafer Cookies; my sisters like the facial wash; my clerk likes the chocolate covered/peanut butter filled pretzels; and my neighbor likes the Trail Mix. Too bad they stopped making the soft green mango - that was really good. I like to look at the fresh flowers and $1 greeting cards. I can't take the flowers home, but I'll get a few cards if I have space left in my luggage... LOL! read more

This is one of my stops whenever I'm in search of trail mix. There are few places that actually sell good quality mix, and this is definitely one of them. I would expects just that from Trader Joe's. This store, much like all other TJoe's locations I've been to, is clean. But it can get very packed at certain times. The good news is that the cashiers keep the line moving fast, so I am on the road in no time. There is a plethora of other merchandise here, of course. And I like to get the peanut butter and jams here, as well as other sorts of snacks for the more arduous hikes. The staff here is friendly, and I haven't run into problems here. I love trader joes! You can never go wrong with this store. They are always well stocked with food, have good samples of coffee and random food (which I usually end up buying). Everyone here is nice and cheerful despite the rush of people they always get. They usually have seasonal items which make this store exciting around the holidays. In the fall season where they have pumpkin spice everything, they have pumpkin spice cream cheese thats good with a bagel and in december, I dont even bother with starbucks hot chocolate, when they have hot chocolate packets that taste exactly the same. They also have these fresh flowers outside that smell so wonderful. But keep in mind they do run out of these come mother's day. read more

Called the store and the lady asked me to bring back. When I inquired more about how they maintain food fresh, she got impatient. ehhh. some thing about this location is always disorganized and frazzled. I've been coming to this location for nearly 8 months now and it is a very popular one. However, today I went in just to grab some fruit and went into a line. The associates are known to just call you over when their line is free. I got into a line and another lady proceeds to park her basket right behind me and I am waiting for the cashiers to call me . I let the lady know that I'm going to one who's done checking out the previous guest first and the older women behind me start laughing and saying i couldn't make up my mind which like to get into . NO. I was here first. And there's literally no type of organizational skills for Trader Joe's lines. That's one thing that's always annoyed me about Trader Joe's. So then I get to the cashier and I let her know every time I come into the store when it's time to check out there's confusion because you guys just grab whom ever is waiting. She proceeded to tell me "oh, yeah, it's just the lines right here." .. that would be lovely but there's no real way to determine how the lines are going to form especially if it's busy and the store is crowded. so nice associates but really Trader joes could improve where to stand in line so you aren't in shoppers way and it's a CLEAR distinction of where to stand for each cashier. read more

The place is compact. I thought that was fire! Most Trader Joe's aren't very big, but with only 3 aisles, as a man I felt like I could handle Grocery shopping for the first time. But nahhh it don't stop there. I get to check out and I see the alcohol was in expensive. My guy at checkout, RICK, schooled me on all the good products while still scanning stuff. My man was on absolute autopilot with the check out while dishing out some of the best customer service on this side of the Mississippi River. I've made another discovery! Yes! I was casually going through my Trader Fearless Flyer when I read that they're offering up Mud Pie. The best thing was it being offered for only $7.50. I knew instantly I'd have to give it a try. It has coffee ice cream, fudge and a chocolate crust. The first time I tried a slice of the pie, I didn't defrost the pie. Bad idea! It's hard to slice and the coffee from the pie seemed to be too strong (I'm not sure if it was an effect of it being frozen but nonetheless it didn't make a good first impression on me. The second time, I decided to try and defrost it for a 30 minutes. This time, the mud pie was much better and tastier :). I think I would like the mud pie better if it was vanilla based ice cream. The coffee ice cream is ok but once again can be a bit overhelming. The chocolate crust is actually pretty good. (This says a lot since I'm not a big chocolate person). I loved the chocolate crust on this though. It's like eating a cooking :). All in all the $7.50 is actually quite a deal. The mud pie is pretty big. I don't know if I'd buy it all the time since there are a lot of calories per slice and it is kinda sweet. It's not a bad item to serve at a party though :) read more

I'm very disappointed with this Trader Joe's (I don't want to tar all locations with the same brush). Approximately 4 days ago I called the store to talk to someone about my dissatisfaction with the wine I'd purchased. The woman who answered the phone said that she could speak to me. I told her that I had purchased 12 bottles of the Coastal Zinfandel about a month ago and that I had asked for a case but the bottles were taken off the shelf and packed in an empty box which was my first mistake. Who knew how long those bottles were on the shelf? I drank the first bottle and it was fine but the next 5 bottles all had some kind of residue at the bottom. After hearing this, the woman told me that alcohol could not be returned. I said that I was willing to exchange the balance of the bottles for something else. She told me that she didn't have the authority and would have to talk to a supervisor and call me back. Still have not received a call back. My suggestion to all who would buy wine or anything else from this store is to think long and hard; who knows how long items have been on the shelves? I actually contemplated calling the winery but decided that the ball should be in TJs court since the wine was made for them. Oh well, live and learn. Trader Joe's is not Nordstrom! read more

I've been going to this Trader Joe's since I was in middle school. I'm 29 now and the service always remains the same! Very nice workers and the products are fab. Today, right as I checked out my bag ripped and fell to to the ground. Two cashiers were quick to respond and gave me replacement bags during their busy rush. My almond milk was also damaged and they got me a new one. The sight was like a nascar getting their tires changed. I don't usually write a lot of reviews but they just impressed me so much I had to. Absolutely love everything about Trader Joes and this location in particular is phenomenal. I have been shopping here for years and the staff are always so helpful and friendly. Today I had a particularly great experience (which prompted me to write this review). I was stocking up on groceries and shopping with my 2 month old baby - needless to say I had my hands full and I think it was pretty apparent. All of the TJs employees were so nice and told me to let them know if I needed anything. As I was checking out, they insisted on helping me to my car with my cart load of groceries. As a new mom, they have no idea what this gesture meant to me and I am very grateful for their team. Looking forward to shopping here for many years to come! read more

Trader Joe's is one of those business establishments where it is very hard to review one location as opposed to another as they are all pretty much the same. They all have a staff that is nice and friendly and they each have pretty much the same STUFF. :-) This one has been around for quite awhile and I have been going here for years-upon-years. A few years back they opened a new location closer to me so I don't go here as much. But, this is a Trader Joe's. They sell what Trader Joe's has to sell. So, periodically I do stop in on my way home. If this location has a downside it is their parking lot which they share with a number of other businesses. It is one of those almost always crowed with crazy driver parking lots. Personally, I avoid this Trader's for that reason alone. This is no reflection on the store or the staff. You just need to be aware of what you are getting into if you plan to go here. I could pass along a few parking lot secrets about this location but that would take up too much space. Just be patient. Overall good business with a nice staff. read more

Ahh... Trader Joe's....in beautiul Torrance at the Rolling Hills Plaza. Nothing but mostly (not all) old blue hairs walking around like clean versions of "The Walking Dead". Before Fresh & Easy, there was Trader Joe's. Orchids for $10?? NICE! A good selection of wine and other beverages? NICE! Freshly made foods? Hell yeah! What I really love about this place is that it's very well organized and clean as a whistle. It's so damn clean that if you took a crap on the floor, it would actually look like art on the ground in the form of the Philippine islands. The only thing that messes up this nice, clean, store is the fact that it can get ridiculously packed at times, especially since it's located on Pacific Coast Highway, amongst the AMC Rolling Hills Theater, Veggie Grill, Weight Watchers, Tilly's, etc. I've seen a bunch of old folks just look so pissed at the younger what they call "tricksters", "swindlers" and "whippersnappers" that skate into this place and treat it and the parking lot like a damn 80's cliche' mostly White-casted movie that features a random montage. All in all, I give Trader Joe's 5 stars because it's a throw-back to the oldschool markets that were very timeless, with some traces of the new generation's swagger/style along with great food, drinks and products in general. I'm all about customer service and this Trader Joe's delivers that every single time. This store is located in the Rolling Hills Plaza off of PCH. Yes, it's a busy plaza- but I'm one of those people that finds the furthest parking spots and walks over to avoid the chaos of busy parking lots. I've noticed that if you come here in the early morning or late evenings, the crowds aren't all that bad. Most TJ's are small, the aisles are narrow. It's inevitable- you'll be bumping into others. It is what it is. Everyone is there for the same reasons: great prices and awesome food finds. I personally don't buy produce or meat at any TJ's locations. I do buy nuts, cheese, wines, seasonal goodies and flowers. The pre packaged salads are perfect for a picnic or lunch. My personal favorite is the Broccoli Slaw & Kale Salad with white chicken. Love Trader Joe's but I would say that this location is my least favorite of all the ones that I have been too. For the size of the store location there seems to be limited amount of merchandise. I know that they seem to want to have that mom-and-pop store behind. But there is no excuse for not having more items for sale which seems to be the norm at other locations. Would I come back here? Although I get what I want whenever I come to this location, I always get the feeling of inadequacy at end of every shopping.I thought this store is not as stocked and huge as the other locations I always go to. My usual TJ visit would include a quick tour on every isle but this location seems boring. It's like a long stretch of goods and at the end of the box is the sample booth and coffee corner. This is not my neck of the neighborhood, but I stopped in for a few things after the Holidays. I parked around the corner because the front looked like it was too busy. When I walked in the store it was already like the que had begun; it was packed. You literally couldn't walk or go around people. You couldn't sneak down another aisle to avoid the masses. So slowly we go down the not wide enough aisles. The check out lines were 4-5 deep even with all of them open. There were even 5 people waiting for the coffee samples. Besides being small, everything else is standard TJs. I actually searched Yelp for a TJs on Hawthorne and many said it was the preferred So Bay location, might have to give that one a try next time if I'm down there again and need Trader Joeables. read more

I always buy my flowers here. The selection is awesome and extremely fresh so they last longer than most places. Discovered a couple of new stuff today but also by my regular things like candied pecan, walnut cranberry dressing, bags of salad greens, and variety of fruits. Today I tried the partially popped popcorn with sea salt and the freezer dried Fuji apples. If you're a fan of corn nuts and popcorn, then you'll be addicted to the partially popcorn. This has a slight bite to it but remains crispy crunchy, with a little butter and sea salt. The freezer Fuji apples are super sweet sounds great for snacking or even on a salad. Still bummed out about the discontinuing of my favorite snack, dry crispy green beans. I can find other variations at other markets but Trader Joe's had the best one! read more

RIP OFF ALERT! RIP OFF ALERT! PRICE GOUGING after an earthquake is really really bad form. I thought TJ's was better than this. Until yesterday, It was always my opinion that TJ's was the BEST market for cheese selection, and dairy and meat prices. I went in yesterday to do my weekly marketing and I wanted to purchase a few cases of water, apparently after the 6.1 Nappa earthquake yesterday there was a "run on" water and all they had left were the tiny 8 oz. size bottles and they wanted to charge me $8.29 for a 4 pack of 8.oz. water. This is so unlike your chain, but maybe you are now following in the greed of the big grocers. read more
