Came here on a Saturday night and the place was packed with soccer tournament families having a good time. My daughter and I decided to order the food to go and we're glad we did. We split a large brisket order and it was some very tasty brisket, great smoky flavor and delicious BBQ sauce. Ventured out to downtown Morgan Hill for dinner and we decided on Trail Dust BBQ. I got the Pork Rib meal. I chose the 4 rib option for $20. You get two sides, plus garlic or corn bread. My wife got the tri-tip meal. I thought maybe I should have gotten the half rack, but I was pretty full with the four ribs. I LOVED those pork ribs. I am definitely coming back for those again. For the two sides, I got the Mac & Cheese and the Coleslaw. Mac & Cheese was solid, but the coleslaw stole the show when it came to the sides. I loved the freshness and the sweetness of their coleslaw. Since my wife can never finish her plate, I tried the tri- tip and baked potato that she ordered. Both tasted really good. The Cornbread was great, especially when you drizzle that honey on it. Only disappointment was the garlic bread. I would recommend ordering the cornbread instead. Service was great. Even though it's owned by the same folks as South Winchester BBQ, the food is wildly different. The Mac and cheese is better here but the pulled pork is so greasy and salty it was inedible. The good: Shame on me for waiting so many years to try this local gem! My family has been around in the area since 1997 and it wasn't until this Halloween weekend that I tried this place! I wanted to order catering for 16 people and was bored of Famous Dave's. I was surprised that the prices here were even better and they offered great easy and brainless package options for folks like me who don't want to go through each option and create a list. I loved how their cornbread and BBQ sauce wasn't overly sweet like at most places. The sauce is made locally in Gilroy. The brisket was so tender I couldn't even pick it up with a fork without it falling apart. The cole slaw wasn't grossly thick with mayo nor too sweet. It had a good level of tang. The meat quality was great and the BBQ chicken (something I usually don't order) was stupendous! It was tender and had great flavor. I got so many compliments from my family and guests saying that this BBQ was great and superior to others in the area. It wont be my last time here! Super soft and not overcooked. The Mac n Cheese was different but good. The adults liked it, my son did not. The baked beans aren't my favorite but my 9year old liked them. They say it's a combo of: picking good pieces of meat, aging of the meat, proper seasoning of the meats, slow roasting with the right mixture of aromatic fuel, and sometimes a good BBQ sauce - one hot and one not. Well, TD will do all that for you and give you a nice indoor and outdoor place to get down and dirty with your BBQ while not giving you a mess at home to clean up. As the name implies, there's a Western theme to this place: wood exterior and interior, funny cow-poke carving at the entrance, order at the counter, pick-up at a designated service station near the kitchen door and the beverage station, and take it to your table for chowing down. Lots of napkins which you'll need are available. We decided to go mid-afternoon to beat the Friday supper and after-work crowd. Only a few tables occupied at 3pm with no waiting at the order counter until I got up there. Yep, until I caused a line due to asking too many dang questions and having an elementary school reading panic due to the chalkboard-like black and white menu....Ha ha. There were three people behind me by the time I figured out and ordered and paid. Darn pilgrim! So I ordered to share with the Wifey - Two Meat combo of Pork Ribs (4) and Beef Brisket that comes along with two sides and choice of bread. We asked for beans and potato salad with a slice of indiscernible cornbread. By the way...You don't go here for the sides or bread, just the Q. Overall, we liked the brisket which had some fattiness to it while the pork ribs were ok.. tbh... had better. The side sauces are ok and not outstanding.
