There really isn't enough bbq in the San Jose area and we went down to Morgan Hill to visit friends and were pleasantly surprised by this place! I've been craving Texas style bbq for sooo long, but haven't found the right spot. This isn't exactly that, but it's the closest I can get! Brisket was moist and fatty. Burnt ends were good. The ribs were fall off the bone. The sides were pretty good too, but I wish they gave bigger servings. The garlic bread could have used more garlic and the jalapeño cheese sausage was promising, but a little dry. I liked that they served their platters with pickled onions, pickles and peppers. They also had a self serve bbq sauce - regular and spicy! You order at the counter and then buzz you when the food is ready. There's also a fountain soda machine. There's a lot of tables both inside and outside!

Came to Trail Dust for a late afternoon meal. I ordered a brisket sandwich with beans as a side, and a half salad. Our food came out quickly and the place was almost empty, the brisket was delicious. If we are in the area again and in the mood for BBQ, we might come back!

Used yelp to find this place doesn't disappoint. The little spot hard to find parking free parking next door in the structure. Bbq chicken they use a rub the smoke is not to strong flavor a bbq flavor not overdone you can taste the chicken and it was tender. Tri-tip. Yummy seasons just right again the smoke is not over powering or salty tender more like a light medium pink with no blood the flavor is just right you can still taste the flavor of the meat. Bbq beans must try potato salad was in the sweet side with a touch of bbq sauce different flavor all together. Corn bread or garlic toast both equally tasty. Seating inside and out order your food then have a seat. Service was very helpful and patient for the first timers giving some great suggestions but of course I am sure all the food is delicious. Don't forget to take a walk after your meal cute little town

Quality food in this location is served with high customer service. They deserve 5 stars forsure...We came here after a long day and they were very pleasant. We ordered Chicken bbq with cold beers and also two sides (coleslaw's and potato salad) and they were all pretty delicious...Ambiance was fun and i loved all the writings on the wall...As you see even i captured them to post here and also keep it as memes to send to my friends...Lol my fav one was this: " If a man is alone in the woods and speaks and there is no wife to hear him is he still wring?" And also i loved that in front of door (entrance) they quoted If you have a reservation you're in the wrong place!!!! This place is smth else...There is also street parking and paid parking so dont miss it....

I wanted to try a new barbeque restaurant, so we came here. It became apparent that this place has the same menu as restaurants we have gone to in San Jose and Mountain View; maybe thay have a common owner, although the restaurants all have different names. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. And the food is pretty good. Meals come with your choice of garlic bread or cornbread and include a bit of garnish and an Andes candy. I had the tri tip meal with beans and coleslaw. My husband had the chicken with potato salad and beans. They have 2 price choices for regular or large meal portions, and we both got regular. We also got a garden salad, which came with more bread.

The place can use some new furniture, but the food is good. The corn bread and brisket are delicious!

Came here with a friend on a Sunday early evening after hiking in Henry Coe. I ordered the tri tip sandwich with beans as a side and my friend got burnt ends with Mac and cheese and potato salad. Our food came out quickly. There were plenty of tables for indoor or outdoor seating. I'm glad that my sandwich didn't come with BBQ sauce on it and I was able to add it myself. Food was salty, but tasty. We were both hungry and ate most of our food. If we are in the area again and in the mood for BBQ, we might come back!

We were in Gilroy then stopped by Little Bean's Cat Cafe before fueling our body. We were hungry and was a tad bummed we were told the wait would be 25 min. due to folks ordering over the phone or via delivery third party apps for the football game. Service was excellent. Ronnie ordered ribs, mac and cheese, and a baked potato w/o the chives. I ordered their special (turkey sandwich w/ garlic aioli. We also ordered 2 fountain drinks. The wait was barely 15 min. The mac and cheese was creamy and saucy. I tried Ronnie's massive baked potato; 'twas very good.. soft, but not overcooked/mushy. My sandwich (though I only ate half and brought the other half home) was succulent. I loved the pickled red onions. A very satisfying meal after a week of consistent workouts and diet. Loved the decor. They have outdoor seating as well.

I have always enjoyed trail dust, the pulled pork sandwich is my go to but everything I've had is good. It is a place my entire family enjoys. It's a fun place to dine in, the decor goes with the theme. Or it's easy enough to call ahead and pick it up to dine at home. I've always had friendly service.

Mmmmm... BBQ Great serving size, tasty food... best BBQ in Morgan Hill! Service was fast and efficient, made excellent suggestions. The place is super clean with a little 'Ol' Western' look and feel. Lots of seating and right behind a huge parking garage. Just go already!

If you're craving good bbq, definitely check this place out! I always get their brisket and steak and it's always tender. My favorite side of theirs is the corn bread and it pairs very well with their meats. Service was fairly quick and there's lots of seating indoors and outdoors. They have parking out in the back but there's also a free public garage nearby.

Pleasant surprise with Trail Dust bbq! I don't eat a ton of bbq but my partner is pretty particular so decided to take him here to try on our way to Spina Farms. Came for lunch and there wasn't a wait. I got a kids meal because bbq is usually heavy for me and my partner got a brisket sandwich. The bread is delicious, the corn bread included, and the meat was super tender! Sides are yummy too and they have beef ribs right now as a special! Will be back to try the other items! Kids meal size is perfect if you want a light snack.

My husband and I stopped by this spot after visiting a nearby pumpkin patch and we were starving. This place hit the spot. My husband both decided to get platters. I got the brisket with slaw and potato salad. The brisket is everything I wanted it to be. It was tender, flavorful, and delicious. The potato salad was pretty good with the right amount of acidity and tanginess; same with the slaw. The restaurant is very cute. The decor is something I would find in an old saloon. Service was good, nothing extraordinary. People taking our order were fine. Food was delivered to our table after 10 minutes.

Today I went there and we got a new server, now I realize there is a training period but we've seen him there for at least three weeks. I had to repeat myself at least two / three times on getting the order correct, simple things like BBQ sauce on the side. When the order came, it had sweet potatoes fries instead of shoe string fries. Again, simple things but the order was incorrect. His name is Christian, I would not get him again period! The ambience is pretty nice, they have nice animal pictures throughout the restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating, a full walk up or sit down bar, and TV's. 3 stars. #3. The service was fantastic, glasses constantly being refilled, asked us if we wanted more bread and butter and our server made some great recommendations "5 Stars" The Food: #1. They gave us 2 nice warm bread rolls with a room temperature salted butter cube. The bread at first tasted salty but then my palate caught up and oh snap! this bread was good!! 5 Stars! #2. The server recommended the beef Wellington. "I ordered it med rare, it came to me med rare" it comes with mashed potatoes and longstem broccoli with cherry tomatoes, and a wine/vinegar reduction for the Wellington. The broccoli had a nice crispness to it and were seasoned perfectly, the cherry tomatoes added some brightness. The mashed potatoes were silky smooth and paired perfectly with the Wellington. NOW THE BEEF WELLINGTON: OH MY .....GOSH!!! My eyes rolled back into my head, it was so good!! The beef was as soft as butter, I could have used a butter knife to cut it (not kidding) and it melted in my mouth. The seasoning with the dough and the spinach with the mushrooms inside nearly caused a wet dream (if you get my point) "and don't even get me started on their reduction sauce for the Wellington!" The waiter walked up to me and smiled and said "and I quote"... gives you goosebumps, right? Oh he knew, HE KNEW!! 5++++ Stars! #3. Wifey ordered the Grilled Salmon salad. She ate the Salmon so fast that I barely had a chance to taste it. She said she really liked it, now I did get a chance to taste the salad and I must say that it was so good that it could have been a stand alone dish. Again 5 Stars. #4. And for dessert we had tiramisu. It came plated beautifully with a raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, whipped cream, and a beautiful orchid flower. The flavor while not the best I've had was still pretty darn good 4 Stars. Overall food and dining experience at the restaurant easily hits 5 stars! Total bill for said food - tip $124 pricewise I felt it was well worth it. Oh I will be back!

Positives - have never had a bad meal. The food was good…read more Negatives - The service was very slow and our server seemed like he didn't care very much about being our waiter. He came to our table just after we were seated and before we had a chance to look at anything. Stood there looking annoyed as we scrambled to look at the menu for drinks and appetizers. We very quickly told him we would need a few minutes. The few minutes though turned into 10-15 before he came back to take our order. The appetizer took an extremely long amount of time to get to table. The young man who brought it wasn't our server and did not check to see if we needed anything else. When our waiter eventually came back with our cocktails. He just held them out to the nearest person and made us pass them down the table. Eventually after another long wait, our meals arrived. Server nowhere to be found. By this time our first drinks and waters were empty. Server didn't come by for quite awhile after. Some of our party asked for more drinks and water. We never got more water. Server never came by mid meal to ask how we were doing. If we needed anything else. I would've ordered another drink if I had a shred of confidence that it would've been delivered before I finished my meal. Speaking of the cocktail. YOU DO NOT MUDDLE THE CHERRIES IN AN OLD FASHIONED. It was just a mash of fruit floating around at the bottom of the glass. We finally saw our server again when he came by to ask if we wanted desert. He dropped off the menus and then disappeared for another 10+ minutes. At which point I had to go find him to inform him that we wanted to order dessert since we were celebrating my father's birthday. When the other young man brought our desserts we had to ask for new plates and clean utensils. We again had to ask for more water since it wasn't brought when previously asked for. Our server then eventually showed up for the check. He told us the first card didn't go through. He did not do this quietly or with tact. He came back after the second card didn't go through. We did not get any banking notifications about these and inquired if perhaps their system was the problem. It wasn't until the third card didn't go through that he admitted they were trying to fix the problem on their end. He did not apologize. We've dined at this restaurant multiple times a year for several years. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had here. If you care at all about the service you pay for then I would suggest you avoid this restaurant. Very disappointed. Next time we'll be dining elsewhere.

When I went to the bathroom, I noticed one of the slushies was non-alcoholic so I might try that next time. We ordered the Bourbon Bacon Burger with Chili Cheese Fries and the Supreme wood-fired pizza. The burger was fantastic! The BBQ sauce was delicious, the bacon and onion rings were crispy, and the fries were great. I enjoyed the chili, but I didn't think the cheese sauce or sour cream really stood out. I thought the crust on the pizza was perfect, I really enjoyed the wood-fired vibe and fresh toppings. This would probably be my favorite pizza if they used better mozzarella. For now, Bizza is holding the top spot for me since they use Butcher's Son mozzarella, and in my opinion, it's the best vegan mozzarella sub I've ever had from pizza spots so far. Jeff and I had a great time ordering pastries to go and of course... ordering the burnt almond cake for the celebration a few days away. Jeff got a piece of the most dense/ingredient filled Quiche. Every bite was a taste bud delight and it was very filling! Good quality. No smoking and an excellent breakfast decision. We ordered some coffee cake and a cinnamon roll for others at home and I got a jelly roll that was this beautiful, fluffy, perfectly cooked roll with a bit schmear of a cream cheese/butter icing on top and the apricot jam they crowned it with was stellar! OMG. I'm going back for another one of those. That was an incredible decision. Pictures next visit I promise!!! The restaurant is clean and airy indoors and they have a beautiful seating area with tables and umbrellas outside.
