The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the staff was nice. With that being said the place looked disgusting. The walls are grimey, gym had about 4 machines that were old and the gym itself was out of service, they had wha appeared to be abandoned cars in the parking lot, some areas of the parking lot (like near my room) were dark. No lights and with people hanging out in their car made me feel like someone would break into my car as soon as I went to my room. The hotel was clearly missing a sign which made it look unprofessional. As soon as I stepped into my room I felt like I would get infested with bed bugs, the room smelled weird, it was super dimmed, the lights to the bathroom were outside the bathroom. I absolutely couldn't stay here. I had to book my stay elsewhere. Overall, this place needs to be repainted, get their signs and lights fixed, tow the abandoned cars in the lot, and update their rooms. The whole place in general looks tired and worn. read more

Don't get fooled by the pictures, this place is absolutely filthy . The rooms have a musty, damp feeling when you walk in. It smells absolutely horrible. I'm pretty sure there was mold in our room. They alsOne of the ladies that checked us in was really rude and gave us attitude. They have a pool and a hot tub, DONT USE IT unless you want to catch a disease, I don't think they have ever cleaned them. The pool had a layer of dirt on top of the water. Alexis (the guy in the front lobby), was very kind & helpful. Other than that, this hotel is like a catfish. The actual rooms/hotel looked nothing like the pics provided on the website. The rooms were stuffy & outdated. They could definitely use a deep cleaning & a paint job. The pillows were hard & uncomfortable. The AC kept shutting off. The pool & jacuzzi were both grimy looking. There were groups of nasty flies everywhere & the location was not desirable. Definitely would not return. read more

Well, I had reservations at Doubletree down the road. I thought. Booked wrong day. 8:00 at night, in a panic. Dodger stadium not far, playoff game. Everybody is booked. I go on Expedia and see travel lodge. 160.00 with taxes. I book it! I'm going to say, I have stayed at travel lodge driving cross country and having three parrots, 4 cats and a dog. They weren't the best 13 years ago. Aside from very firm bed (I like soft) pillows that weren't super soft, the place was pretty decent! The bathroom was super clean. Tub nice and clean! Towels were decent. Mini fridge and microwave. I would stay here again. It was quiet (I was on back side, they have plastic blinds on the window that are way better then raggedy curtains. The only one setback here as I see it is the smell. They use those older ac/heating units and the smell is not great. Bring your favorite wall plugin you will be fine! ADDENDUM:Just going to add that we moved over to the Doubletree for today. Disappointed no mini fridge or microwave. Kind of wish we would have stayed put at Travelodge. read more

We arrived at 6:30pm and the door was locked and a sign on the door that said "Out to lunch" so we couldn't check in and we were running late for the event we were attending. We came back to the hotel at 10:10pm and the young man said that there's only 2 people and when he goes to lunch the door gets locked. When have you ever seen a hotel that closes the door for lunch? That is ridiculous, these people need to take some hospitality classes. BTW the website says they are open 24hrs and it doesn't mention anything about the hotel closing for lunch. read more

From the outside the motel looks run down. They also charge a $100 room deposit at check in and there is no hair dryer, ironing board nor iron in the room. Also there are no clothing hangars nor a clothing rack in the room. The swimming pool looked neglected, the elevator was broken down, the bathroom is tiny and the laundry room only has one washer and dryer which always have someone else's laundry in them. Suspicious characters in the motel as well. Only things I liked were the trendy seats in the room as well as having a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker in the room. In addition the place was quiet and I was able to get a good night rest with no interruptions. In summary this place is bad value for money and i would not come back again! read more

My friend and I stayed at this Travelodge in Commerce from 8/8/18-8/12/18. I was a bit skeptical because the pictures on the website are so outdated... but I called and asked if their rooms were updated and the man on the phone told me that they were all updated (great!). First, we were checked into a "non-smoking" room that smelled like a room full of lit cigarettes. So I told the woman at the front desk and she didn't have a problem switching us rooms (first room was 216, then we got moved into 217, facing the pool). The room was pretty average. Everything was clean. It had a microwave and a coffee maker but no fridge or blow dryer. At first the bed looked as if it only had a thin sheet on it, but there was two sheets with a blanket in between which kept us warm. The A/C worked amazingly... woke up cool. The tubs could use an update and the walls need cleaning. But nothing really worth complaining about. I was also scared of our room having roaches or bed bugs, (seems like a lot of hotels/motels in California have that problem) but there were NONE! I checked every sheet, every corner and found no bugs. Overall, we had a good stay. It was worth the money ($455 in total--4 nights). We would stay here again. read more

We stayed here on a LA trip primarily because of the close proximity to downtown LA and beach areas. The area is very industrial just north of Downey. Hotel is in fair to good shape but the surrounding areas need landscape maintenance, -there were 4 foot tall weeds outside the parking lots. We had a room with 2 queen beds and it had a micro and a fridge which I liked. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. However, every time we ran the air conditioner, it had a slight mildew smell. It wasn't unbearable, but noticeable. I had mentioned it to the front desk, they said they could check out or give us a different room. Problem was, the rooms had one bed or they were smoking rooms and my kid has bad allergies. So we were stuck there. The good thing was we didn't spend much time here since we went to the fashion district, LACMA, and Santa Monica. It was about a 20-30 drive to downtown and 45 to the beaches. The pool was pretty cold even with the hot weather. They had a little jacuzzi that was not even heated. Guess it was broken. On a high note, the waffles from the continental breakfast bar- fantastic! read more

Nicer than expected! The room we stayed in (first floor facing towards the pool) was updated and had a fridge, microwave and small little table & cushioned chair. No blow dryer but the bathroom was clean. Stayed here in between a day of Disney and Universal and it was a good distance between each. Would recommend, especially for the price. Pool was closed though and there was no breakfast due to COVID (as of 07/23/21). read more

I loved it. We traveled from Silicon Valley and we just wanted to get a room for a night. We got very lucky with this location availability especially it was a 4th of July weekend. So much cleaner than the last hotel we checked into before we found this one. The room was cooler when we walked in. The bed and sheets were very clean. We checked for bugs and it passed . Thought would try this hotel. The price is ok but here's the thing. I'm not asking for any making it more luxury looking. I just need a safe hotel. If you see the picture of the door, it's VERY UNSAFETY!!! Especially this location is not crowded area and it's by the bridge were we see homeless people and doing weeds under the bridge. We see them walking around by the parking lot. I just need a hotel to relax after i go to a lot of places. I just need a hotel that is safe. Not like this since my day 1 to my last day, we used the stairs with all our stuffs. They have another elevator but you gotta go to the back side of the hotel which is almost same thing so we just took the stairs and we're on the 3rd floor and the dusty thing is from the ac cuz we notice it's not cold that much so when my brother pull that off, we're very disappointed under the bed there's white pen and a lid for beer.. we just need a simple, clean and safe room. Front desk was very friendly tho. And when we asked for another set of towels, they were fast and gave him tip. After all this, we still gave $$ tip and hopefully they will really clean the room for the next people that staying read more

Wasn't sure about this hotel, and booked it. The rooms are nice and look recently updated. However, the hallways have trash that's overflowing the containers on the entire floors, and the area is extremely congested with cars and semi trucks. It's right next to the 5 Freeway and Slauson Street. There is a diner called "Ozzie's" that's just a short walk away for food. Very good diner! I will look elsewhere when getting another hotel in LA. read more

Was double charged and was told the charge would go away when I checked out. Checked out and money had not been returned. Asked to speak with a manager and was told there are no managers on the property, that they all are at Corporate. Called Corporate and was told that there should always be a general manager at the property and I was misinformed by front desk person. Also advised I should get a call back from Corporate and my money in in a week. A week later no call from Corporate and no money back. Sent email and was advised to contact property by Lisa. Biggest headache and joke of a customer experience. I travel regularly for work and will probably never stay at Wyndham or Travelodge property again. Most misinformation, frustration, and circling around I have ever experienced by a major company. read more

Staying here for work purposes. I read the review about bed bugs and it freaked me out but I thoroughly inspected my room and found none. (Looked under the sheets, mattress, box spring, behind the headboard and all the furniture.) The rooms are clean, the decor is very ikea. The staff is friendly and attentive. This isn't a fancy hotel nor is it a roach motel. If you're looking for a decently priced hotel that's clean and decent to sleep in this is the place. read more

Room was clean and big. The reason for the 3 stars is cause their breakfast sucks. Most places I stay at have a source of protein. Here they didn't even offer boil eggs. Their is a bridge next to the hotel that homeless sleep underneath, and they usually come inside the hotel parking lot when they are bored. Be carful you watch were you park. read more

so my gf booked this room threw expedia ....lol. I had no idea about it. we got to the area and it was sorta dumpy. we got a 2 queen room up stairs on the 3rd floor in the back next to the elevator. anyways. the rooms were okay remodeled. so we stayed. Friday night and Saturday cause we weren't living in it in the first place,just to rest our heads while in town. I suggest if you stay there book it in the front of the hotel for the wifi service. it doesn't work in the back rooms of the hotel. 2nd be prepared to eat breakfast out. the only thing they had was bitter coffee,juice.cearel,oatmeal,toast waffles,and apples. it was priced okay 2 night 200 bucks. ohya. you have to ask for a blow dryer. the fridge,and microwave worked well. the mattress were very nice and clean. the showers and toilets to other rooms are noisey. the blinds let a lot of light in. and you do hear fwy traffic. read more

I told management about it the gave me some discounts and I gave them another try 3 weeks later again I got bit with bed bugs I made a. My family and I stayed here twice .but tonight they flip the scrip they said we smoked in a non smoking room. Straight liar I'm not a smoker I have a 12 year old asthma child. She couldn't show me proof even tho I pre booked . I've never felt so much discrimination . Do not go here!!! My boyfriends and I stood here and him and I woke up with bites all over us! Not sure if it was bed bugs or spider bites but it's disgusting and I couldn't sleep cuz of the itching of bites. Bath tub looked a little dirty when we first entered. The bed creaks and is flimsy. There was only one good channel on tv, the rest were info commercials. Don't stay here, you can book a better room for less money! My friend and I stayed here because it was raining and it was very late and no other place nearby was available! No comforter on the bed , no other channels except for one no cable and internet only works for one person at a time either by phone or tablet etc! The room we stayed in was recently remodeled, but it smelled distinctly of cigarettes in spite of us being in a non-smoking room. The AC is a joke & sounds like 47 fans were going. The toilet ran out of water at least 3 times, we had to fill up a trash can with water & dump it into the back part each time. The pool was pretty warm... whereas the hot tub was lukewarm at best. I take baths warmer. The breakfast was ok, the first morning they had black tea, whereas the second they didn't. When I asked the woman who was working cleaning up & setting out food she just told me no. Really? There weren't anymore in the back or anything??? There's a cute diner across the way & a Starbucks, I'd definitely recommend heading over there. read more

I am giving this place 5 stars because it was way better than I expected. Hotels in LA, or its surrounding areas, with the same rate per night, are far worse. The room was very clean and we had everything we needed; fridge, microwave, AC unit and TV. Their free breakfast was an actual breakfast, not just granola bars and coffee like at other places. I enjoyed the pool and yacuzzi too. I did not mind staying a bit farther from LA because access to the freeway was very close to the hotel. Everyone from the receptionist to the house keeper were very nice. Would stay here again anytime. read more

The room that we stayed in looked remodeled. First thing I checked was for bed bugs. According to the Internet, you should check the bathroom first and then the bed. The bed fitted sheets covered the whole mattress so I wasn't able to check the crevices. I checked in between the sheets as well. The bed looked clean. Stayed there for 3 nights and we didn't get any bed bugs bites. Safe to say this room was clean. I did get bit in the leg, but that could have been from an outside bug since there's mosquitoes flying outside at night. You have to request for a hair dryer here. It's not installed. They do have a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker though. The shower head is very weak and the water doesn't go down the drain quickly enough. The water is above my feet every time I shower. The carpet could be vacuumed better. I food pieces of food on the corners of the walls and the day we checked out, my husband found a push pin. That would be dangerous if my toddler would have stepped on it or put it in her mouth. So for the safety reason, I deducted 1 star. My room keys seems to have gotten deactivated so I had to go back downstairs to reset them. Not very convenient to have room keys that don't work. On the outside, there needs to be some renovations. The floor looks like it's breaking a part. I was scared to walk across it. You can see the top layer gone. The size was about 1 feet by 4 feet long. It can get hard to sleep at times because you do hear noise from the outside like cars driving by. I didn't bother trying the breakfast after hearing poor reviews about it. I'm not much of a breakfast person anyways. I deducted another star for the outside appearance. Beware when you check in or out at night, they do close the lobby early so you have to talk through a plexiglass window. For a budget hotel, this place was good. The hotel is ok clean, but customer service is very bad! They will call you many times in the morning to ask you to check out, even is not the time for check out yet. More over, they don't want you to use their lobby even they will tell you they have a lobby when you check in. I am not someone who has no manner, I greet and smile every time when I saw any of their staffs during my stay. I am a normal middle class. They are just disrespectful!!!!! Do NOT go here!! I stayed here and was bitten by bed bugs all over my body!!! It is so bad that I had to go to doctor to get medication to stop the itching. I also can't sleep at night soundly as I am worried about being bitten by bed bugs even though I am far away from that hotel. This was the worst hotel experience ever. The receptionist at front desk was nice when I complained about it and assured me that the manager would contact me regarding this matter. I am a Platinum Wyndam member and will never stay here again. I obtained bug bites all over my body and attempted to speak with the GM. Amy said she would leave a message for him, yet I never received a call back. The next day, I attempted again. She said that GM was still not in and couldn't tell me when I could reach him. I escalated this issue to Customer Relations. It's been nearly a month and the GM has yet to remedy this situation. I have scars now from these bites and intend to escalate it further. read more
