We have dealt with Tree Pros for three years now. The staff is always friendly. Every time they have been prompt on time and the quotes came in fair and after the service was done the cleanup was excellent. We have three palm trees they have skinned and pruned. Tree Pro's did an excellent job in meeting all my tree trimming and feeding needs. The Arborist was timely, friendly and knowledgeable. I will say the price estimate was a bit on the high side but now that the trees have been trimmed the look great and should do well through the summer Monsoon weather. They also did a very good job of feeding the trees and making sure there was plenty of coverage for the roots to get adequately fed. Couldn't be happier with our arborist (Kyle), and project lead (Ricardo). I have used Tree Pros now on 3 separate occasions. My most recent engagement with them was because I had a 75+ foot sissoo tree that was partially uprooted from the recent wind/rain storm. It was right on my fenceline and being propped up right next to another sissoo tree. It was a rather complex job given the size of the tree, but Ricardo and his team were highly professional. They left the work site spotless and even made sure my neighbor's side was clean for them. I highly recommend Tree Pros. On my first project awhile back, given the size of the project, I interviewed 7 tree companies and ultimately decided on Tree Pros. They did not disappoint then either! read more

Tree pros is hands-down the best company I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. They've earned our business for the remainder of my life with my most recent experiences with them. I had my irrigation system replaced as well as the valves earlier this year. The original job was done perfectly. Nick was on site and explained everything that would be done and how we would proceed. The new Hydrawise unit was amazing and I was taught how to use it and set it up that very day. I was promised that if we ever had any problems with anything to reach out. Well, we left for vacation and came back with a pressure issue on the water flow in our house and irrigation system. We had a plumber come out who changed the main line valve and went on his way. We continued to have pressure problems so we contacted Tree Pros who promptly sent Nick out to address the problem. He worked through every possible cause of the low pressure. He explained how everything work and why it may or may not be a cause. After checking everything, he determined it wasn't being caused by the irrigation system. Nick went above and beyond by offering to check the main line. I was so incredibly thankful that he did as he found the main valve to the house was practically closed and thus the cause of our water pressure issues. Nick spent an hour at our home diligently looking to get to the bottom of our water pressure issue. He could've stopped at any point as his company's work was not the problem but he didn't. His kindness and willingness to help a frustrated homeowner was a breath of fresh air as it's a rarity these days. Needless to say, he turned the water back on and boom, problem fixed! Stress relieved. I cannot say enough that if you have any irrigation or tree needs, you absolutely must have Tree Pros out to get the job done right. read more

I'm a bit disappointed in the communication with the job. The pricing was fair, but when I called to confirm my stump removal (after they removed the tree), I was told it was the next day (on Saturday). Friday afternoon arrived, and I received a call to confirm that the crew would be there between 7am and 9am. After 10am I called to see where the crew was and was told that they were not working and would be there on Monday between 7:30am and 9am. I was also told I would get a 10% discount on the stump removal. The crew arrived on time on Monday, but when they charged my card for the 2nd half, it was for the full price. I had to contact them to find out why they did not give the 10% discount. They simply said it was an oversight and would refund my card in 7-10 days. This is the worst tree service in Phoenix. They called us about a special and we did it and the guy came out asking what we asked him to do. I told him and looked outside and he was gone. The trees were butchered not trimmed. The crew did not follow the path of the pictures or what I talked to your Arborist about. I asked the crew leader about the process of trimming the trees before they started and he assured me he had the pictures and was going to trim the tops and sides, then remove the extra weight as needed within the trees. NOT even close. They were not trimming the top and sides instead the trees were being butchered from the bottom and interior with out a hint of what they were doing, they did not touch the top until I told them several times how to trim the tree. That was too late for the trees and the one in the back was still not trimmed on the top properly now it is top heavy with no good center brush. Your company may need to change your name, being called Tree Pros is not how I see your work. How is it that if I am paying to have my trees trimmed , asked or explained how I what them done , and yet my wishes are not granted. I am so disappointed, I am sure that you do not care about what I feel. Hopefully some one there will learn how to trim a tree and pass it on to the rest of the crew. My trees suffered the price of a crew that is not trained properly, do not listen to the customer because they are doing it their way. They did not ask me if I needed or wanted them to make adjustments during or after. They were in a hurry to leave. The only reason part of the tops were cut is because I had to go out there several times and tell them - I explained to them how I wanted it done and it fell on deaf ears... Imagine your cutting someone's hair, it needs a trim the ends of your hair are trimmed to the desire length before you proceed to shaping the rest of the haircut, you do not start by shaving the scalp and expect it to become a desired trim, if I wanted my hair shaved off I will buy a razor and do it myself. From start to finish, Tree Pros is absolutely THE BEST!!! Kyle Thoma is the arborist who came to my house and was SO knowledgeable and informative. I had a 40 foot jacaranda tree removed from my very small backyard, as it had taken over the space of my home and my neighbor's. The crew who removed the tree was finished in about one hour (which totally amazed me!) and their clean-up was to perfection. Trust me, I'm extremely picky!! We met Tree Pro's at this year's Home Show. We bought into their pitch...and bought $7,000.00 worth of product. All went well...until an issue was discovered that Tree Pro's acknowledges was their fault and their responsibility. We have been attempting to coordinate Tree Pro's and our turf company to determine what needs to be done to fix Tree Pro's error. It's been five weeks since we started this exercise. Yesterday, my wife called Nathan...who is supposed to be a Manager...and he PROMISED that he would handle it today. As night descends...we have gotten no word from Tree Pro's as to what happened. I was unhappy with the quality of the work done by Tree Pros on two palm trees and one orchid tree. The arborist came out and we discussed the trees in question and he promised that Tree Pros would schedule a return visit and take care of the problem. This never happened. I called the arborist a second time and again I was promised a return visit. No one called to schedule. I called for an estimate. They came out and left an estimate on my door. They said for $150 they would deep root fertilize. I never had a chance to speak with the arborist directly, but the diagnosis didn't sound right. Anyhow, one of the employees followed up the next week to see if I wanted to go ahead with the service. When I asked what exactly the deep root fertilization service was and why they thought that would cure the huge branches that were dying, we got disconnected. I think the disconnect was legitimately a dropped call, but the guy never called back. He then called back 2 days later and I said, "When we were disconnected, why didn't you call back?". He said, " I thought you were annoyed and hung up on me." I said, " That wasn't the case at all, but if that were the case, why would you call me again?". So, as you might have gathered, I didn't feel comfortable going with their diagnosis. I ended up pruning back my dead branches myself and found that my tree is actually suffering from sooty canker fungus and powdery mildew. It's actually pretty easy to see just by looking at the tree, but I didn't know what I was looking at until I did some extensive research. My final synopsis. I don't think these guys know what they are doing. Their diagnosis was incorrect and if I would have paid $150 for the recommended treatment it wouldn't have helped a damn bit. Unfortunately, you have to cut out the infected branches, so I will either have a tree trunk with few branches or the most common recommendation for this condition is tree removal. Sad, huh. I definitely will not be calling this company again. Too bad, because I have 11 trees in my backyard as well. read more

Found this company at the Tempe Arts and Crafts Fair. Checked them out with BBB and they seem like a solid company. Called them up and they came out and gave me a bid which seemed reasonable. These guys came out on time and took down this overgrown Palo Verde tree that was leaning against out concrete wall. The next day, another crew came out and pulverized the stump and roots. You can't even tell there was a huge tree there. My wife and I planted some queen palms in its place. read more

Just another update on how GREAT Tree Pros is. We have contracted with them to take care of the 67 trees on our campus. While chatting, I asked about purchasing a new tree... a memory, for a student we had lost in Aug to a brain tumor. She wanted something colorful that would bloom flowers. They suggest a plum tree. We had to wait for cooler weather, but on the day of the memorial service with all the kids from the school and the family of the child lost, they were there to take care of everything. Daniel Olivare was the crew manager for the install. The crew, understanding the gravity of the situation, was so respectful, quiet, thoughtful, let us film, and stayed for the memorial service. Not only did the company provide a plaque for the tree sharing Taylor's life on earth, TREE PRO's DONATED the tree. This is a BIG tree that would have cost us over $1000 for the tree, a prior stump removal and installation. Now, that's a company with a BIG heart. We had done a fund raiser for the tree and for the family. The family was able to receive all we raised because of Tree Pro's generosity. I was in major need of having a couple of palm trees on my property trimmed. I contacted Tree Pros about three weeks ago after doing some research. A lot of landscaping and tree trimming people come to my door and leave me a business card, but when I try to look them up none of them have their own websites or are accredited. So I reached out to this place after finding them online. I think I've heard radio spots for them too. I heard back from them the same day and they said they would come out to do a free estimate. That person came out about a few days later. I got a quote of $160. I'm sure it could have been cheaper from one of those other unlicensed places, but I didn't want to risk them doing a crappy job. I told them to proceed with an appointment. They came out about a week and a half later to do the job. They arrived this morning and I met with the crew very briefly. They were out there for about 40 minutes and they did a spectacular job. Our palm trees were out of hand. They cleaned it up really nicely and cleaned up after themselves. I'd definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future. read more

On-time crew. Generally professional all-around. Disappointing work for the price. Aggressive quoting of costly (and questionably necessary) add-on services. A couple of our trees - both ~20ft tall) needed some fairly significant trimming back. Called and set up an estimate. Their arborist came out on time a few days later and provided an estimate for trimming and told us one tree had some kind of insect issue and both needed soil treatment - the latter of which I found surprising given how healthy-looking and rapidly growing the trees have been for many years. When I saw the actual estimate on paper, I noticed almost third of the cost were for these add-on treatments (soil and insects), so I called to ask a couple of questions. I did not get much of answer, but did get an aggressive/impatient pitch to schedule an appointment for the work and put a deposit down. I told them I need to shop around a bit. So, after having a couple other outfits out (neither of which mentioned anything about an insect issue or needing any kind of soil treatment), I compared notes. TreePros trimming estimate was on the high-end, but not out of line. Confused on who to trust, I split the difference and had one outfit do one tree and Treepros do another. I called to schedule and was told I'd get a call back in a couple days. Indeed, in a couple days, a scheduler called to setup the appointment (50% deposit required). So, I scheduled the work , did the credit card deposit, and told the scheduler that we pay the remainder in cash to the crew. The crew showed up on time and performed work on the correct tree. I was not home and my wife was not able to really communicate with the crew (she doesn't speak Spanish), so I'm not sure if instructions were clear (or conveyed as the quote just said "trim"). Anyway, the crew completed and left. When I got home and looked, I honestly couldn't really tell if any actually trimming had been done. The crown looked thick and full just as before and reached just as broadly. There might have been some internal pruning to clear weak/dead branches out, but at least one was left sagging with brown needles hanging low over the neighbor's fence. Disappointing for the price for sure. The same day, the scheduler calls to ask if I wanted to charge the remainder of the work on the same credit card. We had paid in cash just 2hrs before, and it was actually the same scheduler that I had told that we would pay in cash - I know this because when I explained, I got "oh yeah, you were the ones that were going to pay in cash... they haven't updated it in the system yet...". In general, it was a disappointing experience. I share responsibility in that I wasn't present on the work day to provide real-time input (figured the original requests would have been conveyed). I won't likely be using TreePros next time. Your mileage may vary. BTW - The other tree? I had it done by my regular lawn service (independent - not an arborist), and it actually came out quite nicely - though I get that it was potentially risky to the tree's health, but it has been a few weeks without issue. . read more

They quoted me a cost, said they would be out the end of the week, and when they got there, the crew told me they could not do the job as bid, that it would take more hours that was originally bid. I pleaded with them, to no avail...we eventually lost the 25 year old trees within a week, as soon as the next storm came in. All we wanted was an aggressive trim. I recently had 9 citrus trees, 1 cyprus, and some other funky-thing-who-knows-what removed from my property and I am very happy with the work that Mike, Jose, and their crew did for me. Mike (the owner) has been out to my property now 3 times to take a look at the situation, quote me pricing, and offer suggestions for taking care of the trees I've decided to keep. I was never charged an estimate fee or anything. A couple of scheduling snafoos notwithstanding, they've completed the work in a timely manner and I'm very impressed with the finished product for what I believe is a very fair price. Mike has continued to give me advice on my remaining trees, and has even offered to come back in Oct and take a PH reading. I will continue to utilize Mike and Tree Pros in the future for maintaining my "grove". read more

Update 9/14/18 - PLEASE READ Here is an update on my experience with Tree Pros. Shortly after my original review from 8/9/18 (no one asked me to, however, I made the personal choice to delete it), I was contacted by a manager named Yesenia. She was professional, courteous and efficient and was sincere in her apology on behalf of Tree Pros short comings. She contacted another roofing company and had the owner call my husband that day. This company came out and did their job within 3 weeks (we did have a rough monsoon season so I took that into consideration as far as the amount of time goes). Yesenia stayed aware of the progress and ensured the situation was rectified. Robert, the owner of Tree Pro's, also reached out to me, expressing his apology. Even though all this started out rough, in the end, the repairs WERE taken care of and I am pleased. These days, I typically expect the worst from people, however, with the follow-up and full completion of the job, Tree Pros proved me wrong. Today I received a hand written letter from the owner Robert. It was an honest and well written letter taking full accountability for the entire situation and didn't make a single excuse. I give credit where credit is due. Tree Pros earned a few stars back. IN SUMMARY: 2 fan palms removed, damage to tiles on roof have been fixed. I am a happy customer. read more

I had to have a 3 story ficus tree removed. The trees roots and trunk were close to my gate and they were able to work around it without a problem. Kyle T. came out and gave me a quote that was $1,300 less than Moon Valley Nurseries quote. They scheduled promptly; charged 1/2 prior to the job and the other 1/2 when the job was complete. The workers were professional, didn't leave a trace of the tree behind, and the job was complete within a few hours. I also liked that they followed up afterwards to ask about the quality of the job and my satisfaction. I'll be using/recommending Tree Pros in the future. read more

Terrible communication issues. On June 16, 2014 Joe came out to my house for a free estimate on trimming an enormous tree in my front yard. I was home, yet Joe decided not to ring my bell and involve me in what I wanted to do with the tree. He called me afterwards and sent a work order. His work order included lifting the tree's branches 6-8 ft. off the ground. I did not want this and he said he would e-mail a second work order. It never came. I should add that he was really nice and helpful. He is a licensed arborist, but he would not be doing the actual work so I was concerned all the more that the work order be correct. I gave him the go ahead and he says that the amended e-mail would arrive shortly. It did not. One week later, on 6/23, Paul (?) calls me to set a date to trim the tree. I ask what he has available and he says that Tree Pro has an opening tomorrow, Tuesday. I ask what time and he says that he does not know, but that someone would call me back soon to tell me the time. I say okay. Two hours later, Autumn calls me and tells me the time will be between 1PM and 4PM. I tell Autumn that the time would not work and is there another day that we could do this? She immediately tells me that I will be assessed a 20% change fee since my appointment is less than 24 hours away!!! I tell her the Tree Pro JUST called ME 2 hours ago!!!!!! She connects me to "Customer Concerns". Really? I hung up. I am fuming at this point. I called back and spoke to Nate in "Customer Concerns" and told him that this customer service was unacceptable and that we would not be doing business with Tree Pro. This is a perfect example of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Tree Pro had picked tomorrow just 2 hours earlier, but did not have a time.Why didn't they have a time? Who calls to set a date, but does not have any idea what time on that date? Autumn calls me and gives me a time that does not work and then wants to BILL ME $ 60+ dollars for not accepting the time and asking for a change of date. Who does this? Why didn't I get an amended work order from Joe? Why didn't Joe bother to knock on my door and involve me in the process of trimming MY tree? Did he just do a drive by? I'm furious all over again. I was not impressed, after several attempts to have a arborist contact me to discuss my burnt AZ ash. I had given up on them. (Over a 30 day period) I sent a quick text to the gal I had been speaking with to informing her that I was going to leave a review on yelp, not only did she reply within 5 minutes, but an arborist called me within 30 minutes. We have used Tree Pros for several years and have been happy enough with their services. The Arborists appear to be well educated, are happy to answer any questions you have, and provide you with tips on how to keep your trees happy and healthy. The crews have listened to what I wanted and have done the work as expected. Unlike some of the other reviews listed, I personally have not had any issues with getting estimates or work done in a timely fashion. I have also not had a crew reject the bid price upon arrival. If that ever happened they would be fired on the spot and a BBB report filed. read more
