I absolutely loved this place! The prices I felt were very reasonable for the amount of food I received. I had the chicken fried chicken and felt like the batter was perfectly cooked, flavored, and crispy, which I love. The chicken was also juicy, which was really nice. I had the brussels sprouts and macaroni and cheese as my sides, which were both fantastic! I especially loved the fried deviled eggs as an appetizer. Customer Service was super friendly and helpful and the service was very quick. I love the atmosphere and outside patio area. Overall, I will definitely come back.

+Customer service was excellent. +The 8oz chicken fried chicken and two sides ($16.00) was delicious. -The large beef and bean chili with rice and onions ($9.50) was okay. -The complimentary bread was meh. If they improve the complimentary bread, this place would be 5-stars.

Let's come right to the point Shrimp étouffée delicious good flavor lots of vegetable In order to make it more flavorful, you do have to put their sauce the hot sauce, one of the best you can even use Tabasco fried deviled eggs oh my God, so delicious and then we had vegetable soup all this food you need to add sauce to it to bring out the flavor go ahead enjoy that southern style. Best food you won't regret it. very reasonable price good quality good quality

This is the best location for Treebeards thanks to the ample parking and the hours. The food is excellent. If you're sitting in the bar area there is a waiter, but otherwise it is a counter service and then the food is brought to you. You can get your own tea and fountain drinks and also silverware. The red beans and rice are a staple and something I get every time I am in town.

Treebeards was amazing! Beautiful Ambience Lots of Good Choices Amazing Desserts. A nice spread for a reasonable price and lots of parking! They have a garage. We went here for our couples dinner and stayed until closing time, the service was quick and easy and the food was delicious, the wait staff was nice and accommodating, only thing is you have to remember to order before you sit. Worth a try!

I got the daily special chicken fried chicken with dirty rice and French fries. The chicken was crunchy and tender enough to cut with a fork. The dirty rice has banana peppers or some sort of yellow pepper that I not a big fan of but still was very good. French fries were fresh and crispy, if it was hit with a little more salt fresh out the grease it would be perfect, still good. The gravy was also delicious. Plus they gave complimentary bread, although I did not try it. Overall I'd give it a 7.7/10 for taste and 10/10 for price. This meal was only $11.20 and with tip $14.50!

Ordering was a breeze. We sat our self and waited maybe 15min if not less then our food was served. All the staff were nice. Love the indoor / outdoor seating. Fried deviled eggs.....over priced but the flavor was a 10/10 Mac n cheese 9/10 Greens 8/10 Bbq shrimp and grits 8/10 Shrimp étouffée 9/10 The food needed to be served hot and not room temp.

I wasn't sure what to expect as this was an impromptu visit and I hadn't looked at the menu in advance. I had the chicken pot pie, green beans and mac and cheese. Everything was delicious!! Good, solid southern food. I'll definitely be back to try some more.

I have a super helpful Yelp Elite mentor who lives in Houston. This individual says Treebeards is one of the three top foodie hot spots in all of Houston. That's good enough for me. My Yelp mentor says the service is 5-Star. Like all Yelp Elite folks, my Yelp mentor says, the atmosphere is perfect" Five Lone Stars! At Treebeards, every meal means time to celebrate! Go there and two-step and swing with authentic truly Western USA folks with can't miss scrumptious chow. Howdy Y'all Peace, Mark C

I used to go here all the time downtown. I haven't been in a long while so when they put this up on the meeting place for post church lunch I was excited. Now I probably went a bit overboard in ordering but I wanted my kid to sample a few things. The only thing we didn't get that I used to always order was the red beans and rice with sausage link. It's good but I only used to order it because it used to be the cheapest thing on the menu. My kid didn't like red beans and rice though (last time I got it at a food truck) so I decided to pass. Instead I ordered the seafood gumbo (a bit bland - their branded hot sauce helped), fried catfish with étouffée topping (the best of the lot) and a side of tartar, and the jambalaya (also a bit bland). For sides we got mashed potatoes (they have the variety that has chunks of potatoes and skin), jalapeño corn bread (a bit dry), squash casserole (also kinda dry), and fries (nice - best side of the lot). For desert we got the Italian cream cake (still fire), yellow cake (kinda dry but ok if you take a bite with the frosting), buttercake (super sweet like I remember it) and banana pudding (which was arguably the best of the dessert bunch). The staff was super duper nice and not rushed like downtown. Overall the food was decent but not like I remember it downtown in the 90's. I think maybe eating is all about being in the moment. So while the nostalgia will live on I guess it'll never be quite the same.

This was a random walk-in for me, but Treebeards was a VERY pleasant surprise! Inside, nothin fancy self-serve order and spacious ambiance. I wasn't expecting much given the smaller menu. What stuck out to me, was that the food was simple, homestyle, and just plain delicious. Southern comfort done right. The price was very reasonable given the location, I did not feel like I was getting charged a premium 'trendy food' price. I was most impressed by the cakes of all things. Very simple, but moist and you could taste real strawberry chunks in the cream, reminded me of my wedding tasting times. Ordered: Country fried chicken, bbq shrimp grits, strawberry cake, carrot cake Would I Recommend to Try? Yes Ambiance- 8/10 Food Taste- 10/10 Service- 8/10 (no real service, but very friendly staff) Date Worthy- 9/10 Value- 10/10

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.

Premium Grilled eel dosirak set - 9/10 eel soaked in grilled onion with unagi sauce, sweet & tender with tasty complimentary banchan. Premium Galbi Dosirak set - 10/10 galbi cooked to perfection & taste better than most Korean BBQ place we tried. Hearty grain rice compliment the meal. Banchan within the dosirak set - I wish there's more kimchi included. Egg omelette, fish cake, bean sprout, steamed broccoli, Japchae, and salty anchovies - what can I say, everything made sense & cooked with love. Making this set healthy, homie, and hearty. I wish I could try the tempura (cannot due to allergy), but my family tried it & said it's tasty too. Overall, if you're in Houston & in the Spring Branch area. Stop by to try this set to eat at home since there's no or very limited seating space. Trust me you will not regret stopping by to try this authentic Korean food place.

The design details, from the rustic beams and large-scale vases to the pretty dishes and comfy stylish chairs, Latuli knocks it out of the park for ambiance. The servers were equally impressive: attentive, warm, welcoming, and very considerate. And the food? OUTSTANDING. Most of the passed appetizers were delicious. We both thought the one we didn't prefer (carrot) had too much lemon. The bread service was lovely as well. The remaining four courses were truly stellar... crawfish toast was savory and complex. The fish course was fresh and bright. The Wagyu was impossibly velvety tender and seasoned beautifully. The showstopper Baked Alaska was an over-the-top ending - sweet, creamy, and delicious - to a truly remarkable evening. Bravo! I had actually never heard of Latuli prior to this event, and, based on our experience, I will definitely be back.
