I was in the area looking for apartments for the week and saw this place close to my hotel. I am so happy I have it a shot as I have always been interested in trying the strawberry sandwiches I've seen on YouTube. Japanese sandos made by Tres are to literally die for. They're THAT good. So soft and fluffy, so fresh and crisp, I have literally no complaints about the way they make their sandos. The katsu sandos are amazing. I don't know what sort of sorcery they're using to allow the katsu to be crispy even hours later, but it's amazing. The cream sandos are soo fresh and are filled with fresh fruits like strawberries, blueberries, or bananas, and cream (your choice of original, chocolate, or matcha, depending on the fruit type). They also have flavors like okonomiyaki, yakisoba, egg salad, and so much more. There's so many sweet and savory options, meat and vegetarian; basically everyone can find something delicious here. There is no seating in the store. You order at the counter with the staff and must leave to eat your sandos. We always eat them in the car because the earlier you eat them, the better they taste. They open at 8 AM and sell out very quickly daily. They close at 2 but can sometimes close as early as 12 if they're all sold out for the day (which happens)! Went here on a Friday after placing an online order for 2 Miso Katsu, 1Tres Special, and 1 Okonomiyaki sandwiches. Very glad that my wife mentioned ordering ahead due to the restaurant apparently selling out fairly frequently. Over all the sandwiches were delicious, especially the Miso Katsu! I stopped by today and got the shrimp sandwich and egg salad sandwich. I was shocked when I opened the packaging because both sandwiches smelled like cologne. I hesitantly tried a bite from each, but the strong cologne smell was so off-putting and unappetizing. Whoever prepares the sandwiches needs to lay off the cologne. I was in the area and excited to see that TRES was less than 10 minutes from where my appointment was, so I stopped in. I was immediately greeted by staffed and helped moments later. I took a minute to look at the display case and finally decided on getting the Shrimp, Ham and Cheese and Strawberry Cheesecake. I was offered hand wipes as well, which was a nice little touch. When you arrive, you'll see all the menu with all the sandwiches on the wall and the sandwiches on the display case. I love that the sandwiches are already made so the long moves pretty quick. If a sandwich you want isn't in this display, you can still ask to see if they have it in the back. The staff is super friendly. I got the miso katsu, pork katsu and strawberries and cream. The miso katsu was good. The katsu was crispy and delicious. I personally, thought the miso sauce made it sweeter so I decided to get the pork katsu since I liked the katsu. The pork katsu was superb. It even comes with shredded lettuce. I would definitely recommend it if you want the katsu without miso sauce. I didn't expect to enjoy the strawberries and cream as much as I did. I think it's the best sandwich there. I think it's the perfect dessert to get. It's not too sweet but still sweet enough. Been wanting to try this place for a while but I work late everyday and can't make it by 2 pm. I finally had a day off and came around 11 am. It's pretty small inside so not many customers can wait inside. There was a line out the door. The wait was maybe 20ish minutes maybe more, I don't know, I wasn't paying attention, it was hot outside and I was melting. When it is your turn, see what's available on display and your done. Strawberry cream: I have to say the 90+ degree weather made the cream not so whip creamy anymore. I'm not one to waste, I still ate it, and I survived. So I'd recommend eating it sooner rather than later. It was still good and simple. Could I make it myself sure. Would I? Probably not... Black Sesame: It was different, creamy, strong in flavor. It was ok. Shrimp cutlet: It was not exactly my cup of tea. Took a little bite and meh. Miso Katsu: It was ok. Egg salad and cucumber: I liked it, it was simple, light. I would get it again. Overall: I was able to try several different sandwiches and Some were good and some were ok. But you never know unless you try. read more

Went here for lunch on Wednesday. We walked in and it looked kind of dark. There's only a small space for customers to walk in. TIPS: come here before lunch otherwise you'll miss some of the sandwiches that get sold out. Also, if you want a sandwich before it's sold out, you can order online 24 hours in advance. The service was great. They answered all my questions as someone that hasn't been there before. I got the veggie croquette and the strawberries and cream. The way it's wrapped, there's an arrow showing you how to open it which I thought was nifty. The bread itself was so light and fluffy. The veggie croquette was thick but a good croquette to sandwich ratio. The flavor was just enough and wasn't in your face. The strawberry cream was AMAZING! Again the bread was light and fluffy, there was a good amount of cream but not too much and the cream wasn't overly sweet. The strawberries were ripe although I'd love more throughout each bite. There was a total of 3-4 slices in each sandwich. They also gave you a wet napkin which was cool. Overall, definitely coming back to try the curry croquette and the burger in meat sauce! read more

Worth checking out if you haven't yet, but be prepared for a line of you get there early, and be prepared for items to have sold out of you get there late. I recommend coming on a weekday or preordering online to avoid sold out sadness. While the sandwiches are tasty, they are also fairly expensive and you are going to want a few. The fried chicken sandwiches are my favorite, along with red bean dessert ones. Family likes the strawberries and cream and egg sandwiches. You can get a bunch of bread end pieces for $1 if you're into that kinda thing, just ask. Just know that there aren't preservatives so they will mold pretty quickly. read more

I feel like I have finally fully unlocked the full understanding of what a Japanese sando can be. Back home in Las Vegas we have very few places that serve them, and the fillings are limited. Usually just katsu, tuna, or egg, and they are not always excecuted well. Here the amount of flavors is expansive. We visited twice, and between both visits tried about 10 different variations. The case has both sweet and savory options. Anywhere from the flavors that are more well known to California roll and Oreo strawberry. Every sando was made and packaged fresh with care. They sell them quickly and replenish often. Just after we ordered we saw more options coming out different from what had just been available. If I lived here I would surely come at least once a week. Everything I had was delicious, and some how lasts all day without getting soggy. Spicy miso katsu chicken sando was even worth me breaking my no fried food rule I have for myself. I would eat the fried sandwiches first though, as to experience their true magic. read more

Yes, their sandwiches are as simple as they look. As simple as they are, I loved them all! Pros: - No frills. Excellent for a grab and go type of meal as each sandwich is already individually wrapped. - Busy small little shop, so you know they're turning over their food quickly which translates to freshness. Don't worry, the line moves fast. - Their white bread is soft and fluffy, not dry or sticky at all. - 50 sandwiches on the menu! - My favorites that I tried were their shrimp cutlet, ham wrapped egg salad, and STRAWBERRY! Definitely want to stop by again to try some of their other items. Cons: - They will likely only have a small fraction of their full menu available in their display case, and what you see is what you get unfortunately. They make a limited number of sandwiches per day so once they're out, they're out. If you really want a certain item I suggest going in early or ordering in advance online. - Could I make most of these sandwiches at home? Yes, probably. As I said above these are super simple sandwiches with nothing too extravagant or proprietary about them. Have been meaning to try these sandwiches for a while and was pleasantly surprised that Asian Family Market is a third-party vendor that has these in stock. So quick disclaimer: this review is based off of buying them via this third-party vendor rather than in the actual store itself. Crispy Chicken Fillet: Was pretty tasty overall. I didn't expect there to be a big piece of meat inside, but also didn't expect there to be such a small piece of meat either. It was still crispy which was nice and the sauce was not too much, which is just right. Miso Katsu: Surprisingly still quite crispy despite the miso sauce. The piece of meat in this one was bigger than in the chicken cutlet which was much appreciated. Very tasty, the miso flavor was definitely there. Strawberry and Cream: The cream was so soft and smooth. It was definitely not too sweet, which I worried about at first. The strawberries were still nice and crisp. This place was recommended to me by a Californian; its fame is that widespread. I was told pre-COVID it was avg $2/sandwich and either that was a lie or the prices tripled since. I don't feel that I get my values worth out of a $5-6 sandwiches that barely keeps me full. On the outside, it doesn't seem like a sandwich you would splurge on or go out of your way for. But frankly, they really do make the perfect sandwiches. Every piece is delicately balanced, no overpowering flavors, beautifully constructed, no doubt fresh. If we looked at food as art these babies get a gold ribbon. There's absolutely no flaw to these things other than the price. The shop is also very standard and unappealing, but it shouldn't stop you from trying one! I've been eager to try this place as I've seen it all over my for you page on tik tok. I made sure to preorder the day before (at least 24 hours) so I could just pick up my order. I ordered 5 sandwiches total and got their coffee jelly and my total was $40 with tax. It was fairly priced. The store front is in strip mall which is nice cause there was plenty of parking. The place was quite small and had a couple of stools and a table in the back to sit. They had all the preordered food already in the fridges so it was easy to go in and get out. The ladies there were so cute and service was great. I was in there less than five minutes and the store was full when I was leaving so definitely recommend preordering or going early. I got three different types of sandwiches: fried shrimp, miso katsu, and their strawberries and cream. The bread is super soft and pillowy. I will say I enjoyed the sweet one over the savory. Their whipped cream is not too sweet but sweet enough to complement the tart strawberries. Their savory ones have a lot more bread than filling towards the back. I preferred the fried shrimp just cause it had cabbage and eggs in it as well, but miso katsu was still good. Both savory sandwiches still were crunchy despite being refrigerated, which I appreciated. The coffee jelly was delicious and not bitter at all. This has been on my food bucket list for the longest time. Since TRES Sandwich House's hours are toward midday and I live pretty far, I was excited when I had the chance to stop by! Each sando was about $5-6, ranging from savory to sweet flavors. We got 4 sandos - spicy chicken curry, shrimp cutlet, matcha ichigo, and black sesame. We really enjoyed the flavor of spicy chicken curry one. It had a nice subtle kick of spiciness and also had good overall flavor. The shrimp cutlet had a good balance of smoothness from the shrimp and crispy from the cutlet. The cream in both the black sesame and matcha ichigo were so light and fluffy. You could taste the delicious black sesame and matcha with each bite. One thing I noticed was how little filling each sandwich had. While the inner part of the sandos had filling, the other edges were just bread. As a result, I'd say nearly 1/3 of the sando was just bread and no filling. Other than this note, I enjoyed each sando and would come back to try other flavors! read more
