Just had a pool installed by Tribal Waters. Jerry, Randy, and Yolanda and their crews have been great. Any issues that we had, they fixed immediately. At this point i am extremely dissatisfied with Tribal Waters. I hired a pool company because I did not want to deal with the details and having to oversee every step. This has been far from what i expected. As of now Nick has been the only person at the company that has been able to communicate effectively. He was great and worth mentioning yet after the initial portion of the build i was passed on to the next step where the issues started. Originally It started off with lack of knowledge and attention to detail which has since created a lot more issues. Long story short i currently have an empty concrete shell that overall has an elevation significantly higher than my patio. Then it also has steps at 5inch drop 12 inch drop then 6 inch drop. I can see it now, my 4 year old falling down that significant variation every time. These were not plans i approved yet tribal waters will not admit to their mistake and poor communication to resolve the situation. This company is not worth the hassle. I would recommend avoiding and going with someone more knowledgeable that will not make these mistakes. I also would like to add, this pool is a simple rectangular pool with a baja step and 2 additional steps, very minimal and few items to mess up yet it was! On average i have to send 2 emails, a few text messages and 2-3 calls to even get a response. I have over 75 emails and uncountable calls and messages due to the poor communication and lack of knowledge. I am at the point where my next step is filing a complaint with BBB/ROC or even hiring a lawyer. Not sure how else to work with a company that blames the customer for their mistakes. read more

Very disappointed purchasing a pool with this company. They have gone beyond the timeline that we have been told. The Companies they have doing their work(excavating, tiling, etc.) are not reliable and it makes them look bad. There is also a huge lack of communication between the contractor and the office. Many days have been wasted from the tribal workers not relaying messages. I do have to say, they always make time to pick up their payments. I recommend Dolphin Pools and if I am Ever in the position of purchasing a pool, I will go to Dolphin. Very disappointed. read more

This company was a huge disappointment to deal with and if I could give them no stars I would. Their website shows great pools and I had contacted them to get a quote. After contacting them a month ago to request a quote and design with a possible model design provided to them we still have not received a design or quote. We provided the designer with a diagram and they misplaced it, then were told they would have a design and quote by Thursday the 28th and still had no word. Then today we received a text from Jerry Smith staring the design was completed but they couldn't get it to us until Monday because he had already left. He was very unprofession and if they have all these delays in just the quote and design of the pool I would be very concerned using them to actually build a pool. I will definitely be finding a different builder to complete my pool project. read more

First off, I'd like to say that I've never posted a bad review, however I've become so frustrated and disappointed with Tribal Waters and their lack of professionalism, poor communication and quality that I need to say something. I can site specifics that erode trust in the competency of the company. 1. Site plan submitted with incorrect measurements. 2. Incorrect information given regarding the # of waterline tiles required for the project, with no mention of the need for bullnose and 3x3. 3. Wanting to charge me to rehang the access gate and not letting me know that it could have been rehung immediately after the dig. This is a security/safety issue for me. 4. Change of construction supervisor in mid project with no communication. 5. Shoddy workmanship from hired crews that leave their trash left behind. My biggest frustration is the implication that the delays were my fault. Really? Who is the professional here? I understand COVID has affected people and service (hey I'm in health care) however I believe my small project has taken a back seat to other larger projects and that if I do mention a concern, it will further delay the completion which has been a much, much, much longer time than promised. I do not think I could be more frustrated than I am with this process!! We signed a contract in 4/21 after interviewing several pool companies for our project. We decided to go with Tribal Waters as they were quick to get back to us and while not the least expensive we wanted quality and to make sure we had someone to have our back in completing the pool in a timely fashion. Jason our sales rep. was accommodating and answered all our questions and we thought all was going great. That was UNTIL the the project started and since it has been my worst nightmare!! In September of 21 our permits were approved and while we had an issue with our tenants moving out we were on their schedule. When they finally excavated for the hole it was completely off and thank god I was down there at the time and called my husband in a panic. The pool was completely off. Delays to get that fixed and was told the wrong drawings were submitted. That was fixed and the hole sat for many months. We were told workers would show up and they didn't or they would for about an hr. and leave. Do these guys ever work? Then we were told our pool was 14,000 gallons when we signed a contract for over 17,000 gallons. It was explained that the Baja shelf takes away. Well why was that not explained and if were paying for a 17,000 gallon should that not be what we get? Finally we were on the schedule for shotcrete and that was 6 weeks out but, wait there is more. They did not show up! We flew down from Washington to make sure we could spray the pool down and check on production because at this point with the incorrect dig and the constant delays plus lack of communication there is absolutely no trust. So we paid for a trip down for nothing as they did not show up, we were rescheduled after I explained we came down and were told they would be there 2 days later. Nothing no show again! It took 2 more weeks for them to finally show up and then apparently the Baja shelf was dug to deep and they had to do some sort of corrections. Finally that was done but guess what? These guys like to leave their garbage everywhere and in the wind it blows everywhere my neighbors have been so pleased.. not. I have asked Yolanda now 3x to tell these guys to take their garbage with them. When they install the materials they rip open boxes and just leave them with the instructions everywhere hence also blow everywhere. To make it even more comical we brought a shovel down for our usage and the shotcrete guys took it! Also, asked our Super, who was Jimmy and now is Wade, to get our shovel back please. Not yet. Then I was told we were on schedule to have the forms put in for concrete patio. Again, did not show up when they were suppose to but they did come and worked for no more than 2 hrs put forms just around the pool and left and have not been back. When I emailed today to find out why I was told the wrong plans were left at the site and they had to resubmit them on Friday. WHAT??? I hope the owner gets this we are beyond frustrated, have absolutely no trust in this company any longer, so tired of all their delays, their contractors are a joke and wish to all the heavens we had gone with someone else at this point. We had a great experience with Tribal Waters. Lesa listened to exactly what we wanted. Both Kaitlyn and Yolanda were always available and even worked after hours when necessary. We were always able to contact Randy, the Superintendent was also always available if we had any questions. We sold the house 6 months later and moved to a lager house and lot with a dirt yard. Decided to call and give them a second try with design and presentation. Called them to set up an appointment and no one called me back. New yard budget was 100,000.. what a bunch of fools I guess my potential 160,000 in business wasn't worth a call or visit. read more

If you decide to go with Tribal Waters please have everything in writing that includes EVERYTHING needed to complete the project if you don't their favorite thing to say they need an addendum because something was figured wrong which means more money out of your pocket. It took us 14 months to complete the project but were not able to get the materials we had chosen that were in stock when we chose them. The general manger and sales manager do not return calls, answer e-mails or texts. We started with a great superintendent and ended up with a terrible one. He never showed up unless we called him or the workers or if he wanted more money. When the job was completed per them we had to have them out to repair items that were not working properly. They would show up for a couple of days maybe a week and then we wouldn't see them for weeks. Please be careful if you do go with them. read more

We contacted Tribal Waters after another company had left us with an unfinished, sloppy, discolored stamped concrete mess. They were the third pool renovation company that we had spoken to, and the only ones willing to take on the project. They put together a plan with such organization and vision we were very hopeful for the first time in a year. Within a week, the pool was retiled, the unfinished edges smoothed and tiled, the stamped concrete patched, recolored and sealed. Everyone on their team was prompt, polite, neat and most of all skilled. They gave us a wonderful new patio and pool. Every detail was finished. We feel blessed to have met the team at Tribal Waters. Back on 2015 I decided to go with this company after interviewing a few, BIG MISTAKE! One of the worst companies I had to deal with, from the very beginning of project they screwed up, demo was done on the wrong date, they poorly communicated among each other, had to call each time there was a problem, only when they want to collect payment, they were prompt other than that they lack professionalism and were always shifting blame with one another, they claim they had all in-house workers, was big lie, they sub everything out, they did such horrible work, in the process they damage my property damaged and had go after them to make repairs over and over, they had me so stressed out, I ended up getting sick, they did such poor work in the pebble tech and the cool deck. It was truly a nightmare. I got so sick I ended up with 2 surgeries because of the level of stress, their employees are arrogant and behave ruthless. Do your homework before hiring these pieces of scums all they do is rip you off. read more

Our experience started off great with the sales guy, but went horribly downhill immediately after we signed the contract. We were promised a phone call as soon as our permit for the pool was received, but no call ever came. It was not until we called 31/2 weeks later that we found out that the permit had been received long before and construction could begin. The pool was dug approximately 3' too large, thus cutting into and ruining our irrigation system. Plumbing was laid around this too large excavation, cutting an even larger space that cut into the roots of the tree that we were trying to protect with the smaller layout. During excavation, our gate was ripped off of its hinges and the metal mangled and cut. It was put sloppily back in place and no one mentioned what happened, possibly hoping no one would notice? The irrigation was fixed weeks later and the gate took about a month to fix completely. The stabilizing posts for our trees were ripped out and never put back in. Our waterfall feature was slapped together with gaps that weren't repaired until today (a month later), although they left concrete or paint on it that needs to be scraped off. We were told that we'd receive extra paint for our decking for touch-ups, but never got it until today (again, a month later), and it was given to us in a Gatorade bottle!!! So, about a month after the pool was "finished," it's still not finished. At one point, I had submitted a BBB complaint but agreed to mark it as "resolved" after promises of quality by the sixth employee they passed me to. Stupid mistake, as nothing ever got better and the only compensation we really received was a free tile upgrade. Worst contracting experience I've ever had, and one I plan to tell as many people as possible about to save them the same headaches. read more

It was during regular buisness hours so you would of expected more people to be there or for them to be able to answer a couple questions for ya. Nothing! I have waited to long to write this review. First of all our pool was completed in March 2018. A friend of ours referred us to Tribal so we called and had them out for an estimate to build our pool . We also got two other bids and two others didn't even show up. Tribal was not the cheapest but they offered quality equipment and gave us choices of water features- UV- cyclone filters etc. Things we knew nothing about and being our first pool in the desert it was a good education to make our investment easy to maintain. The in floor cleaning system works flawlessly now for four years and the pool is always sparkling clean - it's a must have. My wife was called by Yolanda every day during construction for an update. Randy was our superintendent for the job and I can't tell enough what a pleasure he is to work with. Kaitlin is inside and has always been awesome to get us any answers and help if we need anything. Our project was a great experience from start to finish and still is four years running. Quality work and professional people - you definitely get what you pay for !!!!! read more

Too bad that I can't give them minus stars. I called their offices to schedule a visit for a quote on a pool renovation. Michelle told me that they were all booked up. Two days later she called and said that there was an opening, so we scheduled for Tuesday at 2pm, with Greg Hutchins. Tuesday at 2:00 pm came and went with no contact from Greg. I called Michelle at 3:00 pm to find out where Greg might be and if he was coming for our 2 PM meeting. Michelle said that she would contact Greg. She got back on the phone and said that Greg had mistakenly NOT PUT IT ON HIS CALENDAR. He called me right after her call and told me that he had just forgotten to put it on his calendar but that he had time on Wednesday. I explained to Greg that I would be booked solid from 8:00 am to about 7:00 pm. He acted like this sort of thing happens all of the time and that it's just the way business goes. He seemed very surprised when I told him that a meeting on Wednesday would not be possible and that I would not be interested in scheduling a meeting in the future. His approach was laisse-faire and he told me that he was already back in Mesa and would not be able to come on Tuesday as promised. I told him "live by the sword, die by the sword" Goodbye. What an arrogant approach to customer service. Please do yourself a favor and not call Tribal Waters for anything . read more

Disappointed. I've postponed rating Tribal for a number of weeks hoping that our issues would somehow get resolved. Unfortunately, they haven't. Overall, almost everyone we worked with treated us as only a job, not as our backyard oasis and only pool we've ever had built and will likely ever have. The sales person Jason gave us very little help or input in our design. His pat answer to any question was "whatever you want". We have never designed a pool so expected more input then he provided. In addition, once we signed the contract and paid our deposit to begin the process, he sat on the paperwork for 7 weeks. Once the work did start, the excavators ripped up our front yard and destroyed our lot drainage from the back yard to the front yard. When we attempted to have this corrected, the company refused to fix it. Our foreman Oliver was good, but under a lot of pressure. He did his best but with the limited control he had over the subcontractors that Tribal had hired made his job that much harder. He tried to keep us informed but there were many times that it was out of his control. Do not expect very good communication from the company from the beginning. Time lines are unrealistic! The only exception with our project was Yolanda which was an angel and the only person who seemed to really care about us and our pool. While the finished product came out good, there are some details that show how unimportant the overall product seemed to the company and the subcontractors. Unpainted and chipped decking, missing grout in tile, incorrect measurements on steps, among other things. Some of these items were corrected after the fact but only because we kept a close eye on every step throughout the project. WE had to watch every step of the process. Perhaps hiring them during the busy time of the year effected them and our project too much. read more

Not only did it get finished on time but here were my favorite parts of working with this team: *daily updates from the office gal, Yolanda, who told me what occurred during that day, and what the next step would be. Selected Tribal for a small custom pool for my back yard. Tribal does a good job and provides a quality product. Gary, the sales advisor spent a lot of time with us helping to decide the many details involved in a pool project. The materials are high quality and their subs do a great job. Yolanda in the office does a great job at communicating as the process goes on and Rob the foreman did a great job at organizing the project. I was quoted 6-8 weeks for completion but we had a lot of rain and it took almost 4 months. Like any large construction project, there will be mistakes and delays but what makes this company stand out is their commitment to make things right which they did. We were interested in adding a water feature to our pool. Tribal Waters' website invited us to visit their showroom. It was nothing more than tiles on the wall. We asked the receptionist if they had any photos of their work we could look at and all she would do is direct us to their website (which has very few photos) and make an appointment with "Dane." When the appointment day arrived, Dane emailed us that he couldn't make it that day due to a medical condition. We understand things like that happen, but when we asked to reschedule for later in the week he wrote that he could "maybe do Friday." He wanted us to do a phone consultation and to send him a photo from the internet of what we were looking for so he could use his software to design something. Our space is limited and we really need someone to tell us what is and isn't possible. He didn't seem interested at all in coming to our home. We told him we were unable to find a photo on Pinterest or elsewhere on the internet, and described what we were looking for. Friday came and went, no design came and we never heard from him again. The customer service from this business is PITIFUL. We'll go elsewhere to find a business that is responsive, a salesperson who will actually meet with us and will keep an appointment, and who won't ask US to do all the design work. read more

Refurbish pool companies want big multi-thousand dollar jobs and so when you have a broken plaster boulder-it's tough to get help-they know there's not a lot of money in it for them once they pay there subcontractors to do the work. That's why when I have called companies to get this fixed I ask right away, can you help me with a small job? This company was not honest about that issue. A call into Tribal Waters directed me to Michael who then said someone would get back to me that subcontracted to do that, no call. Texted him...wanted me to schedule with Michelle over email, did that, no response. Got a text from him and called him a week later. Bizarrely he tried to come a day earlier than the appt. we set. It was becoming clear that my job and my time was not valuable as a potential customer. So I was not surprised that he suggested taking out half my pool's perimeter to convert it to travertine to just do a boulder fix-probably cost on that, at least $5,000! Again I had honestly told him on the phone I just wanted a solid but economical fix to a broken boulder, not a new pool. Anyway, he wanted out of my home fast...gave me the number of Mark a subcontractor who does boulders...it was clear to him there was no money to be made on my broken boulder! Coming from the Pacific Northwest where rain filled potholes are considered pools, we needed a lot of help and someone we could trust as we looked to install the perfect backyard at our new home in Arizona. Like most others, we went to several other companies, however Tribal was by far the most comfortable for us to work with as they put our minds at ease and managed to make a very big project easily understandable. During the design phase, Dane did an amazing job with listening to our wants and desires, and then carefully balancing our budget and delivering a pool and hardscape layout that exceeded our expectations. Rob, our site supervisor, became a regular fixture in our backyard as he executed the plan. He kept our build on target and his communication was second to none. Even when issues came up, we had the complete confidence that Rob would handle them and keep us informed. Yolanda was like the air traffic controller, and her communication to keep us informed of what was coming each week and day was impeccable. At the very end, Luke came to set up our pool and get us started. His calm demeanor and professionalism helped two pool rookies understand the basics of pool ownership. Karli, the pool warranty coordinator, also is easy to work with and delivered excellent customer service as we got the equipment up and running. When people ask us what was the most important aspect of why our experience with Tribal was so good, the short answer is always communication and safety. The Tribal team kept us informed every step of the way, and most importantly, I never for a second worried about my families safety as several crews of people worked in our backyard throughout the build process. They were all professional and extremely nice. You have an amazing team and should be very proud of the hard work, dedication, and excellent customer service your company provides. Let me start by saying my husband and I are both in sales and not the easiest of clients. Our expectations of the contractors we select are very high but not unreasonable. We went to Tribal Waters with a CAD photo of what we wanted our pool to look like and I have to say, not only does our finished pool look identical to the CAD but the process was practically seamless. The pool was completed within the timeframe initially established and Tribal's communication was excellent. Of course our project was not hiccup free, but the glitches were easily worked through. In the process of obtaining quotes to built a new pool & spa, we met with the West Valley representative/Pool designer for Tribal Waters. Instead of the predicted 2 weeks to receive an initial design, it took almost 5 weeks. Revisions took another 2 weeks. The initial consultation took place outside, in the back yard of our home; social distancing was not an issue. Today, we had an appointment in the designer's West Valley office, located in Goodyear. We were appalled to enter the office building which Tribal Waters, shares with health care providers, insurance agents, and other businesses frequented by the public, and not one of the individuals whom we encountered, was wearing a mask. When we voiced our concerns, the Tribal Waters representative, said he 'could put on a mask if we wanted him to'... clearly not the objective of Maricopa County's and the City of Goodyear's mask mandate. There was no evidence of social distancing, sanitation or other common sense measures one would expect 10 months in to a pandemic. Due to the representative's blatant disregard for clients' health, we have excluded Tribal Waters as our pool contractor. read more

I had a gentleman from Tribal come to my house and do a quote for either renovating my pool or a complete demo and rebuild of my pool. He said I would have a quote the following week; it's been almost 4 months. I just saw a social media ad for quotes from Tribal. I posted saying I was still waiting, and from what I can tell both my "like" and comment were deleted as they do not show up in my activity log and I can't find it anywhere.... I guess they're doing so well they don't need my business. All good though. Plenty of contractors in the Phoenix area and my construction loan is burning a hole in my pocket. read more

We originally did our full pool build out with tribal waters and they did a very good job although it did take quite a long time to get the pool fully finished even though they committed to a sooner deadline. Fast forward a year and we decided to add onto our backyard including a fireplace and Pergola met with our original designer and put together a plan a cost estimate and a proposed timeline. After several weeks there was no word on getting the project started even though I had reached out to the designer several times but I was told they're just too short staffed. After pushing quite a bit we finally were able to get another company under tribal waters to come out to do the work. On the day that they were supposed to start nobody showed up to my house after asking my designer what was going on he told me that the price was going up quite a bit and he would work it out. That was on June 20 same day he told me he would call me to get everything squared away. Never heard a single word back since that not an apology, not a "hey, give me some time" , nothing!!!!! I would think after paying for our original pool a very big price and going back with loyalty to our same designer we would maybe at least be given some consideration as a good customer. The fact that nobody could even follow up with me and give me one single bit of follow up information when I had planned to start the project it's absurd. Just completely poor customer service and not a way to run a business especially when you know referrals are so important. Go find someone else for your pool!!!!! read more

If I could rate them a big fat 0 I would. There are too many reasons why you should NOT use Tribal Waters for any portion of your pool. Worst mistake of my life. They are absolutely horrible communicators. Don't show up when they say they are going to. My back yard was a mess not to mention the trash the workers throw in the bottom of the pool. They had string across the yard in sections. I had 3 dogs at the time and if one of them had run out of the door they would have been decapitated. It took me threatening them to come fix things that were wrong. Why would you put a piece of travertine in that has a big chunk out of it. The tile in the pool had the cement in all of the lines and the cement that goes above the tile in the pool was missing in several places where you could just stick your finger in there. They did not grade the travertine correct so now when it rains...the water sits there on my travertine but they said it was done right. I BEG YOU DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID....Go with someone else, it is not worth the frustration of dealing with this company. The time came and went and finally at the end of October, after we reached out to cancel our project, to our "surprise", we heard that the approvals were done by the structural engineer and work was ready to begin the next week. We decided to make it work instead of starting over, with a promise that the project would be done February 1st. Boy, did we make a mistake. We are still in the midst of the project with no end in sight. We have been told, time and time again that we will have workers at the house, then no one shows up. The project manager has no clue as to what the proposal was suppose to include/not include and constantly trying to fix things that should not have been a problem. When spending over 100k on a backyard, one would think that there would be some urgency and some decency extended. Instead, we get pushed around from one person to the next with no one actually taking ownership. read more

We had Tribal Waters build our pool 8 years ago. They built it exactly how we wanted, made sure that during the process we were kept informed of everything and the build was done on schedule. We are satisfied and enjoy our pool. During the construction we used the landscaping company they recommended and they did a great job as well. They did get a little dirt in the pool while the landscaping was happening and Tribal Waters took care of the pool being acid washed. Over the years there have been the typical small problems with owning a pool, and Tribal Waters always takes care of any issues. Recently we had some trouble with the A & A in-floor cleaning system and the parts were replaced at no charge to us in a timely manner. They knew we were going to be out of town and we were concerned that the pool would not clean properly, and made sure it was taken care of before we left.
