When I first came here the owner told me that this place is similar to Nando's in London. Having been to Nando's, I was a bit skeptical because that place is delicious. However, once I tasted the food I realized that Tribos is actually BETTER than Nando's. Why? One word, white sauce! Nando's doesn't haven't any and Tribos does. I would have given this place 1.5 But that's not an option. When we arrived the tables were dirty. Once you have placed an order they will clean a table for you. We order food (2 half chicken, rice, fires, corn, and chai) our food arrived 45+ mins later. The food was cold I mean I was expecting it to be hot since it was made on order but it was cold. The rice was desi basmati palou rice. The corn was out of a can. After finishing my meal I asked for my chai (which was ordered when I ordered my food). I was told it was coming right up they have made it. Then 30+ minutes later I was still waiting. Excellent food! Great ambiance! This is the first time I actually enjoyed eating at a halal restaurant, specially owned and operated by a desi person. I forgot the owner's name but she was very friendly, professional and helpful. Really great customer service. The only negative is that (which is not their fault) desi people travel in herd. Literally family of 15 will show up with 9 kids who actually belong in a zoo. I absolutely hated the people around because kids were running around. Desi people can be really loud and paindu. Obviously the food here is excellent that's why this place is always packed even on weeknights. If they increase their prices, maybe they'll get better quality customer. Less headache, less screaming, less work and more money. Next time we will do take out to eat in our car instead. But please do go there even if you don't like loud obnoxious desis, specially with annoying kids. Because the food and service will not disappoint you. Just eat in your car. From the perfect tender texture to the smoky light char to the addictive finger licking marinade (we had 'lemon herb' and 'mild'), I'm not sure how the chicken could've been better. I love Tribos. It's my all time favorite place to eat peri peri chicken. I recently got my food catered through them for a party. The owner helped me in narrowing down the menu. They also had great vegetarian options for my vegan friends. Food was ready in time and everyone at the party loved it. The owner was so accessible and easy to reach. This is my second time going and the food is delicious. I am giving a 4-star because the portions are quite small in comparison to the prices. Mac and cheese bites were frozen also. Meals don't come with sides or drinks so it gets very pricey very quickly. Fries were 2.75 each portion- size of portion was sooooo small!!!!!! wings were tiny as well. Kids meals drinks had run out- she had one drink I had two kids meals ordered. I chose a bottle of Soda to replace and she said bottles cost her more so she can't replace it for the drink that they don't have. She then demanded that my daughter have orange juice bc that is all she could offer us. They have to do somerhing about their staff, they seemed inexperienced , food came first before the appetizer and drinks. This was our first visit...we heard it was new in town we wanted to try it out. First of all they had no chicken breasts whatsoever at 5 pm. I believe it was the owner that was sitting across from us he went over to the people and table in front of him to chat but he really didn't show any interest in us and continued doing stuff on his laptop. The Good- The lemon chicken was top notch. The cole slaw was excellent. I think it was the owner (a woman in her mid-late 40's maybe) who was attentive visiting our table and was helpful/nice. She even endured my cousin lashing into her about a couple minor mistakes which really was not deserved. (brand new restaurant to be expected) The Bad- The chicken portions are not meant for men...noticeably smaller than chicken from boston market to give a gauge. The 5 of us went and spent close to one hundred dollars and i left hungry. We ordered the family thing they have that comes with 2 chickens, plus we got 5 appetizers and an extra large side. The chicken wings were possibly the smallest wings i have ever seen and seriously not worth it. I would pay a couple extra dollars for an extra meat option with my main course, but for the money the chicken options should have larger portions. Lastly, I asked the girl about the carb/sugar content of the lemon sauce and coleslaw because i am on the atkins diet. I know they keep their sauce a secret, but i would have appreciated if she could of just named the ingredients that would be problematic to my diet so I could count my intake for the day, but she had no clue. Why are you calling yourselves "Tribos," but still using the Portos flags and logos. This place is a knock-off Portos. It got worse when we ordered the food. First of all, the fries were soggy and gross. How do you mess up FRIES? The chicken was bland, bloody, and raw in the middle. The rice looked and tasted like the rice from Halal guys. The fries were average fries with some seasoning on them that had a little linger of lemon on them. Self serve drink machine - you get a mason cup and it's unlimited refills. There are utensils available at the table, but no napkins available at the table. Had this place on my list to visit for some months now and decided to check it out. Right off the bat we had questions about the menu and the person taking our order was very unhelpful. She couldn't explain what the sauces were and what they were made of. She just kept repeating what they were. We went ahead and ordered and walked to get a table. All the empty tables were dirty, we asked to get the table cleaned but waited about 15 minutes to get it. We finally sat down and then waited a total of an hour for our food to start coming out. To make things worst, the first thing to come out was wrong! After another 10-15 minutes the other things came out. Immediately I let them know we were missing an order of fries. They apologized and said they would bring it out. The half chicken in mild sauce was REALLY good. The chicken was moist with great smokey grill flavor. The yuca fries were good as well. The order of lamb pita with lemon herb sauce was good too. We were close to finishing our meal when I noticed we haven't received the fries. Had to walk up to the counter to remind them again about our order. Unbelievable. I have to say the food was really good, a little expensive but good. The service is crap. Walking into the restaurant, the first thing I notice is the interior decoration. It has a really nice rustic vibe going on. The only con I'd say is the seating area is a little tight but that wasn't a big deal. The food was really good! It did take a while for it to come out but this is a relatively new restaurant so I'm sure they're just getting the hang of things. I wish I could remember the name of the dish I ordered because it was great! (lemon and herb chicken platter maybe?) The corn on the cob was the to die for, though it was a bit on the spicy side.
