First time going to this restaurant and I absolutely loved it. There was an employee at the door with gloves and a mask on opening the door so customers didn't have to touch the door which I thought was awesome and chivalrous. Our waitress was super nice and gave some great suggestions for entrees and told us about the upcoming brunch menu. So I definitely will be coming back to try out that new menu once it is introduced. The crab cakes were good and fresh. The mac n cheese was really good. I absolutely loved it and would order both items again. I also ordered the pineapple mule which was refreshing and they have some other drinks I can't wait to go back and try out as well. If you are ever in the neighborhood this is a definite must try . I was really craving ettouffe etouffe ettoufe??? However you spell it and I absolutly love this place for it. They have a good portion and the prices are reasonable. I came here once for a birthday lunch last year and haven't been able to come back till recently. The location is a bit far from me so I am not able to come as often as I would like to. The menu is extensive with lots of choices and lots of great drink options too. They have deals going on and sometimes they have unlimited make your own mimosa bar which is really cool. Last time I came, I got the crawfish ettouffe with blackend fish but this time I just got a bowl of it because its so good and I was scraping my plate for more last time. So far this is probably my favorite ettouffe place but I haven't tried too many places. Give it a try! Its a great place for lunch, to hang out, a little date, or get togethers. We wanted to find another seafood place to try and we found a good one here at Tricky Fish Seafood. This place is awesome!! The hospitality you get at the door is great! You get nothing but smiles from everyone in that restaurant, from the waiters/waitresses to the managers/owners. The staff makes this place delightful. We got there early for happy hour around 5ish and it wasn't that packed that early, but let me tell you this place started to get packed around 6 or so. We started off with some drinks and an order of calamari for an appetizer, and it was awesome! They threw in some banana peppers in along with okra and those 3 flavors just worked. I highly recommend it. Then we shared the beer batter fish and chips and the portions were perfect for sharing and it comes with a side of coleslaw. We will be coming back to this place if we're in the neighborhood, since this was a bit of a hike from the house, but worth it. read more

My dad and I went to lunch here last week. We sat at the bar. First thing we noticed was the bartender making multiple drinks and then grabbing them all around the drinking rim with bare hands to load them up to serve. Not a good practice for hygiene reasons as a bartender. The bartender was pretty good at customer service though. We ordered a dozen oysters, crab cakes, and a fried shrimp po boy. The oysters were some of the smallest I have ever seen and were $30/dozen. The crab cakes you could barely tell there was any crab in them, and the pork boy, which we split, in my half maybe had 2-3 shrimp in. The flavor was decent. All in, I won't be coming back anytime soon. Also, a draft beer was $7.50...come on now. The two of us splitting a lunch was almost $100. Not worth it at all! read more

My last experience was not too good but still decided to visit for lunch with co-workers a few weeks back. The experience was worse than the last. We were a party of four and we ordered, Fish & Chips, Fried Oyster BLT, Blackened Catfish Po Boy, & a Fish Sandwich. The Fish & Chips and the Fried Oyster BLT arrived first and we decided to wait for the other two items to arrive so that we could eat together. It took over 10 minutes for the Po Boy & the Sandwich to arrive meanwhile our food got cold. Surprisingly the restaurant was not too crowded. I am not sure about the sandwich and the Po Boy but the coleslaw served with the Fish & Chips and the BLT lacked flavor. The slaw shredded thick and it took some effort to chew. I gave up after a while and I really like coleslaw. I think I will give this restaurant a pause for a while. read more

It was a whole romaine lettuce, cut in half, grilled and toped with slightly spicy dressing and roasted peppers. The grilled chicken was very basic - not much seasoning (room for improvement here). I was expecting a bit of a blackened flavor in keeping with the Cajun style food offered here. Seating and ordering is a little confusing. A hostess meets you at the door, asks a series of questions about where you'd like to sit, then assigns you a table and tells you your table number. You then need to give your table number to the order taker when you walk up to place your order. It's not impossible, just a little complicated. My daughter and I used to eat at this place weekly between dance lessons. It was always special and the food was amazing. Today was a different experience. The waitress was sweet and my daughter's meal was good - fried shrimp, fries, and slaw. That was the 2 stars. My meal, the tricky fish, their signature dish, came out cold. I reported this to the manager. He took it to the kitchen, and a few minutes later the same plate arrived warmer. But still not great. I ate it out of hunger and my daughter almost being done. They admitted to microwaving it instead of firing up a new meal. The redfish got dry, the crawfish got rubbery and the rice was extra dry. Sad this place has gone so far down from when it opened. This place is the picture of mediocrity. I don't know how people can ever rate this place over 2.5 stars but since that's not possible, I guess I'll be generous and rate up. I had the etouffe. That's my test dish for Cajun restaurants. If they can't make that, then just about everything else will probably suck. First of all, the rice in the etouffe was undercooked and left out a little long. It was chewy and hard. The etouffe sauce itself was adequate yet oversalted. The crawfish tails were tiny and a bit on the chewy side. Definitely an also ran. We also had the peel and eat shrimp...to call it chilled was a bit of an understatement. It was borderline frozen. The cocktail sauce was good. Can't fault them on that. Quantity of shrimp was adequate but hardly generous. Definitely not a place I'd go willingly again. Save yourself the effort and go to Pappadeaux, their etouffe is definitel better and yet still a chain. My old go-to was Dodies but they've sufferred lately as well. If you're going in there for fried seafood, just go to Hook, Line and Sinker and get a side of the jalapeno hush puppies. Don't judge good Cajun food by this example. read more

We were seated immediately on a Sunday evening. It is a nice, casual dining environment. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. The crab cakes were average; however, the Asian cole slaw that accompanied it was some of the best I ever had. I highly recommend ordering some of their Asian slaw. I had the kitchen sink gumbo and felt like it was pretty tasty. Finally, I had etouffee which I really enjoyed with a little hot sauce on it. My wife had the fish sandwich which was pretty large. I did a search for best happy hours in the area and ended up here for their $5 Mules on Mondays. They have the original and 4 different flavored ones available. The mules were so good. Arian was the bartender and seemed to have fun working and had great recommendations and a friendly smile. I like all kinds of seafood, but the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich really stood out to me so I decided to try it. It did not disappoint! It even had some vinegar slaw on top that I wasn't sure about, but it turned out to be such a great compliment to the sandwich. The fries had a little Cajun seasoning and were hot and fresh and delicious. I hear they also have an amazing smoked Old Fashioned that I can't wait to try next time.
