We live close by and hve been wanting to try this place- the fact that it's on Inkjnd app was a plus. We happen to go on a night they were celebrating their anniversary so free margaritas and an appetizer mix. Was a sample size and the appt mix was pretty cool - jalepeno popper, guacamole, ceviche was all really good with warm chips. I ordered the birria tacos (3) with rice and beans. The tacos were perfect and tfe consommé sauce was fab! A surprise was the rice was not typical Spanish rice it was yellow rice still tasty and fresh and the beans were good as well. Hubby ordered fajitas and was very please either portion sizes and flavor but he is used to being serviced on a sizzling platter - these came on a warmed plate. We were served by someone who seemed to be the manager- service was good. The choriqueso was pretty good (a little cold) and really loved the chips and salsa. It's pricey here, but I thought they would have happy hour specials. Nope. My issue is that they clearly advertise they have happy hour, yet when I ordered a house margarita at 3:15 on a Tuesday it was $12. I was told when I asked at the beginning it was on a happy hour special. $12 is not special. It's robbery, especially as it wasn't top shelf and was weaker than my last ex. My wife and I came back, just by ourselves, for dinner. It was equally as good. I had the Enchiladas Al Sazon: Three enchiladas, stuffed with your choice of queso, brisket, or chicken, and smothered in your pick of salsa verde or roja. Topped with lettuce, tomatoes, crema, and queso fresco. Served with a side of rice and beans. I chose beef, cheese and chicken with verde sauce. It was delicious but I wish it was served hotter, temperature wise. I like my Mexican food served "too hot to eat" where it needs to cool a bit. She had the Cod Fillet Al Coco: Pan-fried cod fillet, breaded with coconut and maseca. Drizzled with mango chipotle sauce and smoky chipotle aioli. Served with garden vegetables and basmati rice. This was served at just the right temperature- HOT! And it was absolutely amazing. Service was good, the place is spotless clean, and did I mentions the chairs are comfortable? Not those trendy metal chairs like you would fine in your 8th grade wood shop back in the early 70's. I HATE those metal industrial chairs. This eight month old Restaurant is a hidden gem in a strip center with multiple ethnic restaurants. Do not let the simple decor fool you. This is a family owned restaurant and the Service is very attentive. The meal started with complementary homemade chips and salsa. The chips were very crisp and not over salted. The salsa had a great flavor. We ordered homemade guacamole, a very large serving that was very mild and tasty. We split two main courses. The first was the chili relleno stuffed with brisket. I generally gauge Mexican restaurants by their chili relleno, this one gets 10 stars on a scale of 1 - 5 stars. Not fried, and served in an amazing sauce. The second entrée was the Sazon Pollo. An amazing rolled chicken dish stuffed with chorizo, cheese and poblano peppers in a light mole type sauce. Served with fresh vegetables and basmati rice. Wow wow wow! This place is a GEM. I'm worried people are going to find out about it and I'll never be able to get a table. I started with a strawberry margarita and it was the best margarita I've ever had. The strawberries tasted so fresh and it was perfectly balanced. We had incredible queso, I had the beef quesabirria tacos and they were outstanding. I tried a bite of my son's Pollo Sazon and now I have no idea what to order the next time I go back. I don't know if you can go wrong with a dish. I know they opened not long ago and are trying to get traction, but their food tastes like it's been around for generations. The server was really nice, but missed several things. I asked if the TV could be turned on to Sports Center, it got forgotten about. I asked what the wifi was, there was a delay with that and I had to ask several times, and I still didn't get the wifi. There were delays where I was waiting 10-15 min. between when he came to the table, and he was the only server in the restaurant. I asked for a kids' quesadilla, and he asked if I wanted cheese or chicken. I said chicken. Then a shredded beef one came to the table. I knew I wasn't imagining things and asked the server if it was chicken. He said, "I think so." I said, "Are you sure because it's brown?" And he said he would go and check. Another 10 min. He said he was sorry in a hushed voice and could get me a shot. Bill comes and I'm charged $16 for a brisket quesadilla instead of the $7 for a kids chicken. Server apologized and said that's what we got and that's how much it is on the menu. Owner/chef then says he was able to fully feed my kids and that the kids quesadilla was small and wouldn't have been enough for both of my kids, basically justifying a completely different charge and bill for something I didn't order. I explained that I would have ordered an additional one if I saw the first one come out and if I thought it wouldn't be enough. I also told him what I told the server about it being the wrong meat. The owner kept cutting me off. Then the owner was skeptical when I wanted to use my inKind app certificate, eventually telling me to leave and, despite the complete overprice for what I ordered, that it was "taken care of". It went from being a $25 certificate in which I only ordered $16 worth of stuff to the server telling me I owed $2. And the owner said next time I come to bring cash and that he's not using inKind anymore. No worries about that, because I would never patron a restaurant like that again. read more

We decided to try this place at 6pm on Saturday 3/8/25 for a quick date night dinner. Everything was great. Good selection on the lunch/dinner menu. There's no drink menu, but they have a full bar. I got a Don Julio Blanco margarita and absolutely loved it. It didn't taste like a margarita full of syrupy sugar mix and acidic, but was extremely light and refreshing. Would definitely sip on a patio in good weather. My husband got Don Julio reposado on the rocks. We tried the choriqueso for an appetizer and were not disappointed. It was a good mix of cheeses, so it wasn't watery like at other places, and generous with the chorizo. For entrees, I ordered the enmoladas and he got the quesabirria. The mole in the enmoladas was a nice balance, not too rich and by the end left you with that delicious mole taste. The only thing I could recommend to them would be to have just a tiny bit thicker of a sauce. I also tried the quesabirria and it was perfect. Not too greasy but still fried and the dip was spot on! Overall I'm so happy there's such a close place with my favorite food and we will DEFINITELY be back! read more

Fantastic food preparation. Delicious queso chorizo and guacamole, but served in small portions. Never got iced tea refill till I asked for the check after a long wait. Very very slow service from a nice older gentleman. I had to ask for a straw. I had to get my own silverware and napkin from a nearby table. No spoon to stir my tea. Had lunch today at the new location in Plano on Renner Rd and enjoyed everything! Especially the service and attention of the owner Mr. de Loa. He joyfully explained his dishes that he has thoughtfully crafted. He is a chef who creates dishes that are delicious and meaningful to him. This is NOT Tex Mex so don't go expecting to get what you find everywhere else. I enjoyed the Chile relleno today and a fresh, yes fresh, lemonade. We had a wonderful time. We ordered the chicken relleno, brisket relleno and the chicken enchiladas with the Verde sauce. All of them were good. I especially loved the sauce for the brisket relleno. Upon arrival we asked for the lunch menu but the owner/waiter refused to give us a lunch menu or offer any lunch choices on a weekday during the lunch hour. We had to order from the dinner menu which was expensive. Chips and salsa were not brought to the table. We had to ask. The food we ordered was good. When we left we noticed a big sign outdoors by patio advertising $10 weekday lunch prices. We did not notice the sign when we entered the restaurant. I understand it's a place new place but it was quite empty on a Sunday at 430, with the exception of two other patrons. Even so, there were at least two tables and an area at the bar that had not been cleared or cleaned. We sat at the bar and bartender/waiter came and cleared the area next to where I sat, but there was a pool of water left on the counter near me, and when he came to take our order, he noticed it and put his hand in it and pushed it towards the inside of the bar with his palm. I kept thinking he would be back over to clean it thoroughly and I finally had to flag down another who popped up behind the bar (who didn't understand English well) - she looked around the bar area for a rag and couldn't find one and had to go into the back of the restaurant to get one. she came back and cleaned the I noticed our server go to the back at one point and just before going through the door to the kitchen, he stopped at a patron table and grabbed something from the table and put it in his mouth as he walked to the back. I do not want to see my server picking up food and shoving it in his face and then turning around and serving me. Our meals came out timely and were OK but I ended up being up half the night. When it was time for us to get our bill, it took him forever to walk over to us, even though he came into the bar area and checked on another patron, but he never even looked over our way for 2 to 3 trips. Based on the uncleared tables and lack of a cleaning behind the bar plus watching him stuff food in his face while he's on the job, AND my discomfort later that evening, I am suspect as to how clean the kitchen or cooking areas are. Margaritas were very weak and not tasty at all. Will not be returning. read more
