I am such a fan of Tricky Fish. I can honestly say I love most things on their menu. That changed on this visit. I NEVER paid attention to the fact they sold oysters. So I was excited and expecting them to be delicious. They were so bad and made me sad. I love new experiences, but this one made me want to cry. These oysters were awful and the WORST oysters I have ever seen and eaten. I really should have sent them back. I instantly regretted them once I tasted them. The presentation was off with the dark burnt cheese. They were SO bland and flavorless. Where was the garlic butter???? Smothered in parmesan cheese that was burnt. The saving grace was my side of okra. It was delicious as usual. Well seasoned and tasty. Service was good and waitress was pleasant. Ambiance is always good, with a fun energy and vibe. I love sitting in the big booths. It was clean and comfortable. Overall the experience fell short for me. The oysters are a NO.

First of all I like a new experience. So, I am glad we tried it out. I am going to start with the service. We sat in the bar area at a booth. The bartender has such a sunny and sweet demeanor. I am giving her a 6 out of five. My drink was the painkiller, I am giving that a five out of five. So wherever I go I order fried green tomatoes. Now I am conflicted. The green tomatoes were almost ripe. However, the seasoning, the breading, and the shrimp on top were seasoned to perfection. So altogether I will give a 2.5.I didn't order red fried tomatoes. I had the Haddock and Linguine. I don't have to have it again. The Haddock tasted burnt on the bottom. Now I know it could have been delicious because when I put it in the sauce with capers it tasted much better. I am giving the dish a 2. My partner had the oysters they said they have had better broiled oysters and gave them a 3. However, their main dish they give a 4.5. Total experience is an honest for me 3.8. I will round up and give them a four. Try it for yourself you may like it.

I split a giant 6 count broiled oyster appetizer. The shells were huge. The oysters not so much but broiling them made them smaller. The dinner special that night was a soft shell crab Po Boy sandwich consisting of 2 soft shell and home made cole slaw which was delicious. The romelade sauce was delicious and perfect for the sandwich and for dipping the side of French fries in b

Tricky Fish did not disappoint! We started with broiled oysters that were absolutely delicious, and the shrimp and crab bisque was rich and satisfying. For our mains, we each ordered the fried catfish and shrimp platter, which came with well-seasoned fries and a decent coleslaw. The ingredients were super fresh and everything was well-seasoned in my opinion -- my fiancé felt the catfish could've used a bit more seasoning (he's a big fan of Aunt Irene's heavily seasoned style), but agreed the quality and freshness were on point. For drinks, I went with a refreshing mocktail made with coconut water, guava, and lime, while my fiancé grabbed a coke from the self-serve soda fountain -- a nice, casual touch. From the moment we walked in, the experience was seamless. We were greeted and seated immediately, and our waitress Ashley was friendly, attentive, and great at guiding us through the menu. Food came out quickly and arrived hot and fresh. Would definitely come back -- highly recommend if you're looking for a solid seafood spot!

I've been coming here since 2019. Never disappointed. They should add this on the regular menu. It's so good

This is an awesome spot in CityLine. It's a very casual, sit down restaurant and they are really reasonably priced with speedy and kind service. I got the shrimp po boy and my wife got the shrimp tacos, both with fries. They were delicious and only about $30 total. Our table also got some snow crab with coleslaw and hushpuppies. They were really tasty and accompanied by butter and cocktail sauce, but they were pretty spicy and there was no warning. Other than that it was a great evening with a good ambiance, great food/service, and filling for the price, I would easily come back if I'm feeling seafood.

I first came here a year ago and wanted to come back this visit as well. I really like this place located in a nice area with plenty of parking. This time I got the soft shell crab poboy without the bun and the batter was light and crispy. I really enjoyed it! I remember liking the fried oysters last year as well but this time it was a bit overcooked. Batter was too crunchy and dry. Slaw was tangy and fries are great. I also recommend the key lime pie. I definitely remember it was last time! A little pricy for the size you get but I love the tartness and tanginess of this pie! Definitely worth a try!!

Service: terrible and inexcusable. Crawfish boil: dry as hell. Smh Will never return.

Since I work in the area, I get lunch here from time to time. Today I ordered the gumbo. Noticed this while I was eating. Disappointing. I understand things happen but this really turned my stomach. Not sure if I'll be back for a while.

One of my go to seafood places around. The 'tricky fish' blackened is absolutely phenomenal. Drinks are a bit pricey and ALL of the wine is cooled, even the cabarnets... they need to stop that Management allegedly is the reason for that. Every dish has been awesome though and service is good. Also some of the best hush puppies we've ever had. Bacon wrapped shrimp are amazing. Crawfish etouffe is also fantastic. Ambiance is chill, mostly casual. Will return anytime I'm craving Cajun seafood.

5 stars for the salmon! I could've licked the plate. Everything went perfectly together, veggies were cooked nicely and the mashed potatoes were full of flavor. I would personally skip on the boil but will for sure be back for the plates. Hush puppies were yummy!

My friend and I met here for dinner. Our server was friendly and made our visit enjoyable. I had the seafood tacos which were a nice medley of flavors, hot and fresh. The fries were nicely seasoned and hot. This was an overall great meal!

We had the deviled eggs and lump crab cakes to start, and both were SO good. Prices were great too. Our waitress, Staci (or Stacy), was AMAZING. Sweet, funny, great at banter, and incredibly attentive. Even when she was busy, she never made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. When she was at our table, we had her full attention, she checked on us the perfect amount, and we never had to ask for anything twice. She was on top of her game! My only complaint was a really awkward interaction at the end. I wanted to ask Staci two simple questions: whether they carried an olive gin I'd had in Europe (they didn't, but I haven't found it anywhere) and whether I could buy a roll of quarters because we were going to play pool. Somehow this turned into 5-6 staff members gathering around, plus this random blonde lady in a white T-shirt and jeans joining the conversation. Aside from Staci and the blonde lady, no one else even acknowledged me. They just stood there looking at me. It was weird. It felt like a lot of unnecessary attention over two simple questions and made me pretty uncomfortable. Having another customer involved was honestly the weirdest part. It was disappointing because we'd had such a great experience up until then. I went from thinking, "I need to bring my friends here!" to leaving feeling pretty unwelcome. Food: delicious. Atmosphere: beautiful. Prices: great. Staci: WONDERFUL. I just wish the interaction at the end had matched the rest of the experience. I changed my rating from two stars to four stars because I didn't feel like one bad interaction was worth two stars and I was a little flustered when I originally wrote my review.

Ambiance: Parking may pose some difficulty due to the presence of multiple businesses nearby. Upon entering, I was welcomed by the hostess; however, the loud music from the DJ made it challenging to communicate effectively. The entry doors remained open, which raised concerns about potential insects affecting the dining experience. Service: The staff provided a warm welcome, and our server, China, demonstrated excellent hospitality and attentiveness, readily answering all questions. Communication was somewhat impeded by the volume of the music. Additionally, I noticed that silverware and napkins were not offered prior to the meal being served. Food: I ordered wings as an appetizer and needed to request additional napkins, as well as plates suitable for sharing for which I thought this would be a standard process without asking. The margarita was served in a plastic cup rather than glassware, which was unexpected. My pasta entrée was flavorful, and the salmon shrimp Oscar was equally enjoyable. It was concerning that, although my reservation was at 8 p.m., the restaurant had already run out of sautéed cabbage, an item on the menu. I would appreciate advance notification from staff regarding unavailable dishes. Overall, the quality of food and beverages was commendable. Overall: While the restaurant offers excellent cuisine, the loud music significantly limits opportunities for conversation during dinner. I recommend this establishment to those seeking good food, but not to those looking for a quiet dining environment.
