Stopped by with some of my friends for a coffee before brunch! The atmosphere was nice, the people were friendly, and the menu was also explained to us! I ordered a Honey Lavender Latte, and I can't lie, it might've been one of the best coffees of my life!! It was super refreshing and the perfect sweetness. The lavender flavor was bright but not too strong, and I think the bee pollen on top was a fun touch. Even as the ice melted in my drink over time, the coffee didn't lose its flavor and I enjoyed every sip til my cup was empty :) GAH I can't wait to go back for more!!

Service was incredible. The young man who helped me was super hospitable and went above and beyond. Since it was my first time, he walked me through the menu, recommended their most popular drink which was the Son of a Sailor and even told me about their protein pastries and donuts. I ended up getting the protein coffee cake and a burrito. The coffee was great, the burrito was stuffed and actually nutritious, and the coffee cake was packed with nutrients too... maybe a little hard to swallow but still tasty overall. Awesome first experience I'll definitely be back

The coffee was very good! I usually don't like coffee too much but their horchata drink was perfectly sweet. The drink did take a lot longer to make than I expected but it's a small shop with minimal staff so it makes sense. Cute interior and small seating area

My family and I were staying at the Hotel del Coronado for the week and we wanted to find a local coffee shop for breakfast. Trident Coffee came highly recommended, but sadly it did not hit the mark for us. We ended up going to Better Buzz the following days for our coffee and breakfast fix. This place is not cheap for a quick brekkie and coffee. I ordered the Daily Rations Cold Brew with Cold Foam ($7.70) and a Breakfast Burrito ($13.95) which came out piping hot. The burrito is not hefty by any means, but this is Coronado and not San Diego proper so I don't hold that against them. Think of it as more of a wrap. My one complaint about the burrito is that the filing is chopped up and coated in sauce so it's just a mushy experience (see picture). I was stoked when I read that it included hash brown, but since it wasn't a whole crispy hash brown, you couldn't tell the hash brown from the egg or the sausage coated in the cheesy sauce. I hate to say it, but it just tasted sloppy. The 2 gentlemen working are passionate about their craft and very friendly. This place is popular with the locals and military community and I respect that. They do offer a military discount for those eligible. Thank you to all who have served and are currently serving. I'm glad I visited and supported a local business, but this place just wasn't for me.

My pittie, Cali, and I popped into this adorable coffee spot on Friday afternoon. I'd just gotten some gelato down the street & Cali was feeling a little left out of treat time, so we were in search of a pup cup! We bopped into Trident Coffee which is one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever seen! Cool nautical looking light fixtures, an Octopus mascot keeping watch over the place & lots of interesting coffee, tea & nibbles options. There are a few chairs inside & few tables/chairs outside as well. The kindest barista ever was so excited to see us, especially Cali, and he made us feel so welcome. He kindly offered her a pup cup and he delightedly gave it to her. Cali loved every aspect of this interaction & I really appreciated how nice he was to my pup. This interaction really warmed my heart so much and I will definitely stop by again the next time I'm in Coronado! Mahalo!

Solid choice for a coffee fix. We tried the salted caramel cold brew and hazelnut latte. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the cold brew coffee was. Usually I'm not a fan of cold brew because I like my coffee a little more on the creamier side. Very unique flavors. Service was also good. They have military discount as well. We didn't see the sign until after we've already paid. But good to know!

super cool store known for their specialty cold brews! we tried the Honey Lavender Latte and Blackberry Cobbler Latte, and they certainly add enough cream/ flavor that they taste more like lattes, but with the cold brew bases. drinks weren't insanely sweet, definitely recommend if you want to be adventurous!

My friend wanted to go for a birthday run in Coronado. I wanted coffee right after the run which was something I looked forward to as I pushed myself to finish the run LOL. I found this shop with a variety of cold brew options which also included nitro cold brews on the tap! As a coffee drinker, I definitely had to check it out. The location that we went to is located next to some local shops on Orange Ave in "downtown" Coronado. There's a lot of free street parking around the area but could get very hectic and almost impossible to find during holiday season, dinner hours, and weekends. My boyfriend and I wanted to try their cold brew flight, however, they only had 2 sets for the flights which was already taken by another couple. Whaaat sad. Instead, I got their New Orleans Cold Foam, one of the cold brews, annnnd it was kind of sour. It was kind of confusing, giving sweetish taste but with the sourness kept overcoming the coffee bitterness that I was looking for. I personally don't like sour cold brews but that's my own preference. Some people might enjoy them sour, but I don't think they should be sour... However, my friend and boyfriend both liked it though. My boyfriend got their Mexican Mocha, not sweet at all surprisingly! It was quite good, and the aesthetics of the drink were beautiful! Definitely a lot better than the one I got. I was bummed that I couldn't try their cold brew flight but after trying the New Orleans Cold Foam, I was a bit glad that we didn't. Maybe it was a one off day where their cold brew was steeping too long... I definitely will give it another go in the future to try their flight in the future though.

I got the trident cold brew with oat milk and my bf got the turmeric latte with oat milk. Usually i am a fan of sweeter milky coffee drinks but i was pleasantly surprised with my cold brew drink! It was very smooth and didn't taste bitter at all. Normally I add sweetness to my drinks but the cold brew was super refreshing on its own without any sweetness. The turmeric latte was sweet and had a cinnamon taste and my bf loved it as well. Would love to come back the next time I am visiting Coronado!!

I'm a cold brew kind of guy. Trident is a big W for me because they offer several varieties of cold brew, fancied up versions with added flavors and sweeteners and even cold brew flights. Swoooooon. Quaint little shop right in the thick of it on Orange Ave in Coronado. Close to the beach, tons of people watching and very walkable. Clean establishment and friendly service.

If you are going to open a coffee shop two store fronts down from Starbucks you better bring your A game. How is it so hard for mom and pop shops to brew a decent cup of coffee?! I ordered a dark roast from this place and received a cup of luke warm milk. I went back in and very politely asked for a different coffee and the dude came back with an americano, also week asf, albeit hotter. Come on guys. Figure it out. We stopped in yesterday to try out some coffee and tea. This was my second or third time in the shop and both were impressive. Michael was very helpful and recommended a hot chai tea latte. I got the chai tea latte with oat milk and it was delicious. It was not too sweet but I could taste all of the chai flavors. We also got the damn the torpedoes nitro cold brew. This was really great and well-balanced. It came with a strawless lid with a sippy top. The store was super cute and very clean. They had a bunch of tasty looking pastries that I will have to try next time. If you are walking down Orange Avenue you definitely need to stop in and grab a coffee. They also have a bunch of canned coffee options to take to go. read more

Ok so I found this place just walking by I was actually looking for a Starbucks but saw this place instead. So I yelped it and the reviews were outstanding. Went inside and man the inside was awesome I love the ambiance of the place. I didn't know what to get so I asked the barista (yesenia) what she would recommend and she told me some of the popular drinks so I got the son of a sailor. I got to give it up to this place it was better than what I expected. I completely forgot to take a pic of it because I drank it so fast . Delicious coffee made here. Got a cold brew damn the torpedo, fantastic flavors with a hint of rich notes of the beans. Also got a mocha cold brew in a can which had a nice smooth taste. Location is central to downtown Coronado and has easy parking in front . Service was prompt and fast and I loved the outdoor seating in front. read more

I loved the selection of cold brews and thought the the taste was on point. There was also a trendy and pleaser atmosphere. Trident is a cute place and the coffee is good. There is a lovely octopus mural and cool light fixtures and the veteran-owned vibe is apparent. The storefront is small (just one small table and a counter inside and two small tables outside). There is no bathroom on premises. There are no decaffeinated options and I found the menu unnecessarily cumbersome. I was also unimpressed that the server let me and my daughter twist trying to make sense of the menu rather than just welcome us and explain how their service worked. Overall, I'd definitely come back if I were in Coronado and I wanted and strong, cold brew coffee, but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Eric J.

Serving as a Naval Officer, Eric Johnson started brewing his own cold brew coffee during his final tour of duty in Iraq. He noticed how coffee and tea act as a bridge between cultural differences. All of the chaos of conflict would pause between him and village elders for a brief moment while enjoying a nice cup of coffee or tea together. Two cultures born a world apart were communicating on so many levels without saying a word- that was it! Eric had found his calling and thus set out to create Trident Coffee Roasters.

Seeing flies inside a closed food display is already unpleasant, but the casual response from the employee made the experience even more disappointing. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses the sanitation issue, as well as how concerns like this are handled with customers.

The outside was soft, and the toffee and pretzel inside gave it a nice crunch. I really liked the combination of the soft cake with the crunchy pretzel toffee. The bun was a bit toasted, so it wasn't super soft and had a slight crispness to it, which I liked. The flavors were really well balanced and it was honestly so good. Service: The best service! Even when it wasn't a staff member in charge of our table, we were frequently checked on and everyone was super attentive and conversational, which made the experience a lot more personal and better. I love being able to share a laugh and have a conversation with the staff. The staff member responsible for our table was Heider, and he was super attentive, helpful, conversational, and patient. We also loved meeting Sasha! She's super nice and conversational as well. Thank you for having us! Ambiance: Such a nice restaurant inside and outside. We got the patio high top seating and it was really nice. It was hot out, but the big umbrella helped. It's super busy, but it still felt nice outside, and everything looked super clean and aesthetic. Really nice vibes overall.

Get your act together, this is an embarrassment to the Bird Rock name.

When employees take the time to get to know their regular customers, make recommendations, or simply make you feel welcomed, it adds so much more value to the experience. Overall, Portal has some great food options, a nice patio, and reasonably priced coffee, but I think improving the customer service and creating a more welcoming atmosphere would make a big difference.

There's two locations as far near the convention center as I know and this is hands down the best one. SEATING: There is plenty of seating but during convention time, you'll be either standing waiting for a table or just heading off to the con with drink in tow. SERVICE: Li helped me twice over the four days and remembered my name. That was really sweet!! There is always great customer service here! I always have a pleasant experience! I love how every year they pick a theme to go with SDCC. Last year iirc was superheroes and this year's was SpongeBob! FOOD: All the drinks are fantastic!! I love how hearty the coffee is. It was always consistent in quality and quantity. I always debate on getting two drinks every time I come because it is only 4 times a year I get coffee from here. The food is always yummy too! I usually just get a bagel! OVERALL: The highlight of my July and of SDCC in general. They are the real MVPs!

On a good note, the little breakfast sandwich was quite good. The sandwich came with one fried egg, bacon, and cheese. You can choose sausage, too. The hospitality was very good. The young lady who took my order was nice and service was efficient. The sandwich was made to order and came out in a timely manner. They offer some comfortable seating outside.
