    1/2 chicken combo
    Abby S.

Stopped in around 1pm for lunch on a Saturday. There was a line of about 15 people when we arrived but it was moving at a steady pace. I waited about 10 minutes in line to order and another 10 minutes for our food to be ready. Triple crown BBQ definitely lives up to its glowing reviews! For $15 I got the 1/2 chicken combo meal that fed me for two days. The chicken was a big portion & delicious. The baked beans tasted like Smokey apple cider which I loved. And the potato salad was standard. My friend got the pulled pork sandwich combo for $18 which includes 2 sides and a drink, he was very satisfied with his meal. Although it was only 1pm they were already sold out of their corn muffins, I'll have to come back to try them! Seating is all outside, with limited parking on the premises. They do a great job at wiping down dirty tables quickly and emptying the trash bins. Everyone working was very nice and this location is dog friendly! Definitely stop by if you're in the area and hungry for some good BBQ!

Outdoor restaurant, allowed dogs. The employees were very helpful telling about their menu since it was our first time there. The food was soo good and the sauces too! I would recommend getting the sampler platter. The pulled pork was cooked nicely and not dry at all. Would go back!

Wow, small gem with amazing smoke barbecue food in Luray VA. The smokiness of the meat is so good, the meat is tender and falls of the bones. The sides are delicious ; good prices a lot meat with impressive sauce. The sausage, was so good had to get it twice. Definitely RECOMMEND to s

We came all the way down from Chicago to enjoy the beauty and the exquisite scenery of the Luray Caverns and to find this place.. The Food just WOW.. so delicious and made with love. The juicy chicken with mustard bbq sauce, that was a perfect combo. Their corn muffins just wow, so good. The food was superb! Hopefully we can visit this place in another time.. Cheers from Chicago!

Corn muffins and Cole slaw. Three types of BBQ sauces we chose.

Found this place during me and my boyfriends visit to Shenandoah. This place was realllllyyyy good. As out of towners, we weren't sure what to expect and couldn't decide what to order, so we ordered the sampler. Unfortunately, they were out of the chicken and so we had to substitute for sausage. Personally, we weren't big fans of the sausage, could have been cooked a little longer. It didn't really have that smokey taste we were hoping for.The ribs, pulled pork, and tri-tip were top-tier. The sides we chose were really good too. They were out of the baked beans too, sadly. Overall, yes it's a food truck, but a very good one. The service was quick and the employees were very kind. If I ever visit Shenandoah again I would come back for more.

Tiny little place with all outdoor seating. Food is delicious and decently priced. The staff are incredibly friendly and the owner walked around to check on everyone and introduce himself. If we lived in the area this would be a regular spot with us for sure!

This is a really nice pit stop before visiting Luray Caverns! It is only 4 minutes down the road. When we pulled up, the owner (I'm pretty sure that's him) waved to us and said hello. He was super friendly and you could tell that he enjoys what he does. I am not sure if it was family owned and operated but this little BBQ spot is wonderful and feels like it is! It's always a good feeling to support small businesses. There is an area to sit outside with tables equipped with umbrellas to keep you cool in the summer. FYI-- there are no restrooms on site but just a stone's throw away is the subway attached to the gas station and they let you use the bathroom in there (I'm sure they are used to it with this BBQ place right next door). When we went on a Sunday around 12:30pm, it was not busy-- only us and a few other people. We ordered the sampler for 24.00 and the pulled pork sandwich for 10.00. I am not really a BBQ lover but I found this place for the rest of my family. The sandwich was really good-- the bun was so soft. My mom really enjoyed their corn muffins. We even took some BBQ to go!

Shannon, the owner and I chatted for quite awhile on how "Ollie Cat Cafe" came to be. The restaurant location on how many different things it was previous was quite fascinating, soda shop, pharmacy, opera house. Loved, the vibe and feel from this small town cafe. The atmosphere, passion, and dedication of Shannon , as one of the owners is something; I personally haven't seen in quite awhile in a restaurant. I ordered the Panko seasoned flounder sandwich that was outstanding, delicious, light and flavorful. The sandwich came with the side, and was delighted that they were fresh vegetable medley with the perfect amount of seasoning. Wonderful staff and dining experience. The waitstaff were very friendly, and the place was really well kept clean and presentable. The down side... right off the jump, the water they served us was not drinkable. I'm not being pretentious here, I was legitimately concerned after taking that first sip if I was going to spend the night over the toilet. I did not take another sip, and told my family not to ether. The food took a while, and I don't mind a wait for good eats. But the other reviews on here were right, it was tasteless and seemed to be served right out of a frozen food box. I had the chicken parm sandwich, the scolding hot marinara sauce was burnt by every measure, and the fried chicken patty was still cold in the middle. To the restaurants credit, they did not mess up the fry's. My family's meals were similar, with my wife having the cordon blue with similar results in the fried chicken, and my daughter who loves chicken fingers, not eating more than the one. Overall I think this place has the potential to be good, but they need to fix their kitchen before they do anything else.

It was cozy, welcoming, and actually pretty quiet, which made the whole dinner feel relaxed and special. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server started us off with fresh homemade focaccia, and my lord, it was delicious. So soft, airy, warm, and basically impossible not to keep reaching for. We all ordered the filet mignon, and every steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Tender, seasoned beautifully, and genuinely melted in your mouth. You do get a choice of sauce, so we tried their house-made steak sauce. The steak honestly did not need a single thing, but the sauce was impressive too. Mild, a little sweet, a little smoky, and really well-balanced. My husband had the mashed potatoes and boldly claimed they were better than mine. I regretfully had to agree. My son and I had the goat cheese macaroni and cheese, and I am not exaggerating when I say it was the best mac and cheese I have ever eaten. We even asked for seconds to go, and I will absolutely be attempting a copycat version at home. We were too full for dessert, but I can promise you this meal did not disappoint. We will be talking about this dinner for years. We even said that if we were younger, we would totally plan an entire weekend around eating here again.

Once we were seated, I was shocked that they didn't offer or ask if a high chair was needed for my 2 year old. I am used to most places asking when they see small children. I saw the high chairs and just grabbed one myself. The waitress did acknowledge us once we sat down and let us know she would be back shortly. No problem, gave us some extra time to finalize what we wanted. We had 2 kids, 2 adults in our party. I ordered the caramel latte with cold foam, mom ordered a coffee, kids got a lemonade and also a strawberry lemonade. The strawberry lemonade is really good. The latte I ordered itself was pretty good but the cold foam threw me off because it wasn't sweet, it tasted like pure heavy whipping cream thickened. I added Splenda to the top to make that taste like something. I wasn't sure if that was on purpose. For food we had Sticky Chicken which is fried chicken between French toast and it's supposed to have sriracha on the chicken and maple glaze on top, mom ordered steakhouse omelette and the kids did eggs & bacon; French toast and bacon. My mom didn't enjoy her food at all, the filling was not much and she said it tasted very bland. The scrambled eggs for one of the kids also wasn't enjoyable. I didn't try the eggs but can only go off of their word and barely eaten plates. The chicken in my meal was pretty good, the French toast is on thick slices of bread. It was overall okay. I also had grits and they're made mill grits style in case you're a fan or not of that texture of grits. We had to ask for silverware, as did the table next to us I noticed. The waitress was nice nasty in way. Where she tried to be nice with a hint of rudeness, but she could've been just having an off day. We asked for more splenda for my mom's coffee. She never bought it. I got up and grabbed some from another table because we figured she wasn't going to do it. When it was time to pay, she did go over the items first to confirm if everything was good to go, but her delivery and rushing of it was off putting. Like she walked up and didn't ask if we were ready for the check, she just said okay who's taking care of the bill or is it split or together with her card reader. I felt like I had to rush to go ahead and grab my wallet to pay and it was a little intimidating how she stared during the tipping part of it, which I was going to tip regardless of the lackluster service. Overall it seems like this could be a hit or miss place. I probably wouldn't go back but definitely think others should form their own opinions from their own experience

Lunch: I ordered their meatloaf special - which comes with two sides. I chose mashed potatoes and corn. The food came out in about 10 minutes. The meatloaf was tasty - however, only the ends of it were hot. The center of the meatloaf was actually cold. The corn was terrible. It was chewy - I have no idea how you get corn to that texture. The masked potatoes were basic - but at least well executed and they were hot. No gravy was served with the mashed potatoes. I was in a bit of a hurry - so I did not ask them to "re-heat" the remaining center of meatloaf - and the corn was not redeemable. Breakfast: I went with their sausage gravy over a biscuit, eggs, breakfast potatoes and bacon, plus coffee. Everything was delicious - except for the breakfast potatoes. They were bland and at room temperature. I don't know how the potatoes were actually prepared - but texture-wise they tasted like someone had cut potatoes into cubes, boiled them, and then set them on a plate. The potatoes desperately needed some char/crispiness added to them, as well as some seasoning. I had wolfed down all of my breakfast - except for the potatoes - when my server came by to check on me. She asked how things were - and I relayed that everything was good - except for the potatoes. She offered to take the potatoes back and have the kitchen heat them up and add some char/crispiness to them. I declined - as at that point I was full. The successful components of my breakfast dragged up my overall rating to 3. I probably would have gone as high as 4 stars if the potatoes were better. The Men's restroom needs to be renovated and cleaned. Service was good - not sure if I would come back here after two substandard food-quality experiences. #BrooksideRestaurant

The inside reminds me of a Chili's or Ruby Tuesday, but a bit darker. I think it's a nice atmosphere, appropriate for date night, a group, a family, etc. Our server (who has worked here for 3 years) was friendly and efficient. To start, we ordered a bowl of yesterday's soup special (She crab) and a small order of boiled shrimp. The soup was excellent, creamy, and with small pieces of crab throughout. The shrimp (six in the small order) were prepared well and came with a tangy cocktail sauce. The server brought over a loaf of their complimentary bread, which is actually three breads together in a single loaf. The bread was good (I preferred the dark loaf part) and came with a peach butter. We were told that the butters change periodically. The butter had pieces of peach in it (!) and we enjoyed the novelty. Our server mentioned that they also have a pistachio butter and maple butter. Yum. I ordered a salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side. The salad itself was good - fresh, with crisp lettuce, tomato, cucumber, apple, almond pieces, etc. Then there was the dressing. Although I mixed the salad dressing in the cup before tasting it, when I did taste it, it was almost all oil with no discernible vinegar or other flavor. I kept stirring and tasting and nothing. So I abandoned the dressing. For entrees, my partner ordered the charbroiled salmon in herb butter with a side of broccoli. The salmon was prepared well and very tasty. I ordered the mahi-mahi, with the sun-dried tomato butter sauce on the side. The mahi-mahi was well prepared and tasty on its own. Honestly, I tasted the sun-dried tomato butter sauce and it was essentially whipped butter. I didn't think it added anything to the entree so I didn't use it. The potato came with butter and sour cream on the side. The potato was very good. Although we were full and not planning on dessert, the server came over with small cups of peppermint ice cream, calling it a "palate cleanser." It was very good and a nice touch. Other than the salad dressing and the sauce for the fish, it was an excellent meal in a nice atmosphere with good service. When we were leaving at around 7:00 pm, the line was out the door.
