I normally go to this location, all the workers that I have encountered have been great, tonight I went through the drive thru, they were steady, I waited 15 mins to get my order. When I received my order, they tried to rush me off, I hadn't even paid! I told the girl at the window I needed to pay. I went to this location today. I placed my order with Wendaeza at 1:22. I was never asked if my order was for here or Togo. I ordered two kids turkey and cheddar wrap meals, on the menu it showed that they were 3.99, but my total was 10.80. The cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt and since it didn't print out automatically I just said no. I sat down and waited for my order. I previously visited a different location on Saturday and they brought my order out to me so I assumed that would be the case here as well. As I was waiting for my food I could see that the cashier was on her phone the entire time I was waiting for my food. After about 15 minutes of waiting I get up to ask if our food is ready and the cashier looks at me and says what? I repeated myself, is our food ready we've been waiting quiet awhile for it. Long behold it was just sitting behind her on the counter. Who knows for how long. While I was waiting I went to the tropical smoothie app to see if I was being crazy about the price difference. I know some places charge a little extra when adults order kids meals. So I just wanted to see and hey I had the time. On the app it said my total would've been 8.64. After she hands me my food I ask her about the price discrepancy. She very rudely cuts me off and says that's the price for the kids smoothies. Mind you I'm not asking about smoothies. I'm asking why the price on the menu and in the app states 3.99 but I was charged 10.80. She says I'll tell my GM. Okay I walk away and put my food down. I come back and she is still on her phone and now she is talking to the other employees in her headset I'm assuming about me. I know that when you're talking amongst coworkers the head set flashes and when you're taking an order/talking to the drive thru customers it's a solid color. In this case hers was flashing red. I asked her if she was going to get that fixed now because I was overcharged by about two dollars. She says OUTLOUD "oh my god" rolls her eyes and walks to the back. At the point I'm extremely frustrated I have never been treated like this at any tropical smoothie let alone any restaurant in Lubbock. So I ask to speak to the manager. The manager, Cynthia, comes out phone in hand with her airpod in her ear. I start explaining the situation and she just seems like she could care less. She's like the pricing is my fault I didn't fix it. I'm like okay but it says the same thing on the app. She responded with I'll be sure to tell my district manager. She doesn't even apologize once. Not for my food just sitting there. Not for the rudeness of her employees. Not for the pricing discrepancy, nothing. So I flat out ask her are you even going to apologize for anything? I go to this location about once a week and rarely have any issues. The workers are friendly and apologize for any wait time. It seems as though they are frequently slammed and are doing their best to remain positive and inviting. The food and drinks are always on point! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because, on one recent visit, the employees informed me that they didn't have any turkey defrosted. I pull up to the window and ask the young, very short haired white cashier to run my leftover gift card and use the remaining amount, because I was "not sure how much was on it". She then starts to get a nasty attitude with me and says "what do you want me to guess?" I then said, "no please just check for me?" So she throws the card back at me and said "it only had one dollar" still with an attitude. I then give her the rest of my payment and wait for my smoothie. While I am waiting I am trying to make room for my smoothie, so I pour out my WATER from my yeti cup to make a cup holder free. The crew at Tropical Smoothie is the most unprofessional group I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. We have frequently, in the past after workouts, gone by for smoothies around 8:30 PM. They close at 9. The attitude that we are regularly met with is enough of a deterrent that I have essentially stopped going there. On a recent visit, with a grand total of two cars in the drive thru, they still managed to hand me the wrong order. If you can get them off their phones long enough to get your order in, you can expect to be greeted with a snotty attitude and exasperated, eye rolling sighs to make sure you are well aware that you are inconveniencing them. This is primarily the evening crew. I have had slightly fewer problems with the lunch time crew. It's a shame because I really enjoy the Chipotle Chicken Club and the Island Green Smoothie. Visited earlier this afternoon, went through the drive thru and ordered a Pom plunge, they were out of banana but the gentleman at the window recommended some substitutes which ended up being pretty good! Dined in. Doors were locked to other customers trying to come in. Opened the door for the customers and was yelled at to stop by an employee. Apparantly, the lobby was closed but they forgot to lock the doors before we got in. There were no signs on the doors saying it was closed for dining in. We were locked in the restaurant while we ate while other customers tried to come in to eat. They never explained to the other customers and just let them stand outside with the doors locked. However, if you're going to offer a drive through you should encourage people to call ahead or come in lest they get tired of waiting 15 minutes for their order. Maybe more staff is needed or better prep is needed? Also- if you are going to offer club rewards- which I love as the food isn't cheap here, but worth it- I suggest fixing your pay to scan machines! Consistent problems and when told sorry it just isn't working, I feel ripped off as my points don't get logged. I raved when you all first opened and brought friends and family in to try it out.
