Zero stars is what this place ACTUALLY deserves. The so called "manager" lady is the rudest person I have EVER encountered in the food industry! I went in to buy food and to give my application to them and she acted like I didn't exist. After waiting for 5 minutes, I said "excuse me." And she acted as if I was the one being rude. She responded with "I'll be right there." I waited ANOTHER five freaking minutes and when she finally came to take my application and order, she was acting annoyed and inconvenienced that I was there. The next day, I came in for an interview and she purposely had me wait 45 minutes to start the interview. She waisted my time, I supposedly was going to get an "email" for a response about the job and never got anything. She was a complete careless jerk and SHOULD NOT WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

Love this place! My favorite used to be mocha madness, but these days I am loving the bahama mama and the peanut butter cup. I have always gone through the drive thru, so I can't say much about the inside! Customer service is decent but could definitely be improved. Went in not knowing what to get. The lady was very nice and asked if I needed recommendations and gave me some and asked if I had allergies to make sure she recommended something that I could drink. She then was very nice when she paid me out, there were very quick for being late at night! Would definitely go again!! Also, the price is reasonable, minimum wage is going up, and they are made fresh with real fruit. They have to make a profit somehow. Yes, 9.65 might be a lot, but it's worth it for the freshness, and there one size is a large! It's literary the price of some Starbuck drinks that are the same size. read more

That's it. I can't do it anymore. I tried and tried to give this place a chance. Despite their 15-20 minute wait time at the drive thru and despite their many mix ups on my order(s). Last year, 2016, they came out with a flatbread called, "chicken apple club flatbread." I was obsessed. I order this every single time I come to this cafe. Which isn't often, but when I do, that is my order. Now, because I don't go there often, I go once every month and a half, I couldn't recall the name of the flatbread sandwich. I would just tell the employees what's in it, and for a while-they knew what I was talking about. I actually had to google the name of the sandwich in order to write this review. Two weeks ago. A certain employee got it completely right. They didn't have all the cheese the flatbread recipe called for, so she gave me options of cheeses they currently have available and I chose Swiss. It was delicious. It was worth it. TWO DAYS AGO, I mentioned I wanted a flatbread that normally came with apples, chicken, bacon, and cheese. The woman at the drive thru said, "oh. So a chicken flatbread?" My response, "is that what it's called?" The employees response, "yes. I'll have your total for you at the window." I paid. Of course, since they don't have enough people on the floor, (I'm assuming), it did take around 15 minutes for me to get my order. And the wrong order to be exact. They handed me a flat bread with chicken, some white sauce, apples, walnuts, and grapes........... ok........... it was whatever. I drove off because I wasn't going to wait another 15 minutes for them to get it right. I come in today. I made sure to mention that I wanted a flatbread. I ordered it all the time - in this specific location. I mention what I wanted in these exact words - "hi. You used to have a flatbread on the menu that had chicken, bacon, cheese, and green apples. Could I get that please? The flatbread?" The employee replies, "the chicken flatbread?" My response, "I don't know. It has chicken, bacon, and green apples... and cheese." The employees response, "yes. (Says something inaudible)" my response, "thank you." When I got to the window I got my smoothie, I always get the Bahama Mama. I paid. I'm guessing the employee making my sandwich said to the other employee charging me, "flatbread?" The employee taking my money says, "yes. Flatbread" Low and behold!!!! I drive off with a cold WHEAT bread with the same darn thing they handed me a few days ago. Chicken, grapes, walnuts, apples, and white sauce....... WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUNKNASTYYYY!!!! I turn around back to drive thru and mention FLATBREAD!!!! WITH CHICKEN, GREEN APPLES, CHEESE, AND BACON!!! Of course I'm just expressing my frustration and irritation through my caps lock, but I was kind, calm, and collected when I repeated my order back to the employee. She was so over me by the way. She didn't even deal with me. A different employee did. I gave the cold WHEAT BREAD SANDWICH back to the employee and she's like, ".... did you want me to throw it away?" I was like.... "well.... I guess. I'm giving it back to you because it's not what I ordered." In the nicest way possible of course. I even said THANK YOU! So the OTHER employee who was very nice, trying to make my order right gave me my flat bread. I said thank you and parked in the parking lot to look it over. Sure enough. It was a darn flat bread with GRAPES, WALNUTS, CHICKEN, WHITE SAUCE, AND APPLES!! IS THIS A JOKE? WHY JESUS?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!? I really wanted to give them a piece of my mind. Instead of guessing what I want without even putting the correct ingredients in the sandwich, which, by the way, I've mentioned time and time again what I want INSIDE the sandwich........... NO FREE-KING CLUE!!!!!! Please just tell me NO! FLAT NO SO I CAN MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE, INSTEAD OF GOING OM YELP AND EXPRESSING THE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME I HAVE ON MY HANDS!! .... ugh. (Eye roll) So I go inside the cafe. Like, inside the lobby. Ask for a refund, and returned my sandwich. The woman at the register (that took over the employee who didn't want to deal with me at the drive thru window) had to go in the back and ask her boss if she can refund me. She said they don't do refunds, but she can write my name in a book so I could get a free item next time or something of that nature. WRONG! She assumed that I would be back in to their cafe for whatever reason to utilize the "free" offer. NOPE! I told her NO! I would like a refund. Of course, I'm still extremely nice. She gave me $5 and some odd change. Her response, "sorry about that." My response, "it's ok." My REAL RESPONSE GOING THROUGH MY HEAD, "ajsjcoejfjgjdkfjfhf(censored)ddkcodjehfhf!!!" Moral of the story. Check your food before you leave the drive thru. Remember sandwich names and ingredients. Repeat several times at the speaker box and at the window. Don't ever go back to tropical cafe smoothies AGAIN!! read more

Ordered 1 easy to make smoothie at the drive thru at 8PM on a Wednesday night. The line had 4 cars, it was pretty slow service but the drink was good. Would have given 4 stars if service was faster. I've been a customer for many years now and frequent the Surprise location as it's down the road from my house. I am getting fed up with the customer service though. Very long wait times (especially in the drive thru) and my order is wrong 90% of the time. I shouldn't have to repeat the order three or more times and I shouldn't have to wait longer because they still messed up. Last night we stopped there on the way home and after getting our food home I noticed the lettuce on my flatbread was brown in some parts so I removed it all. The tomato slices were see through thin and half of one was also clearly old. So much for fresh ingredients. Needless to say I had to deconstruct my flatbread sandwich to eat it. After last night I will be driving a few extra minutes to the Salad and Go in Surprise for a healthier and fresher meal. read more

I am normally a big Tropical Smoothie fan, we are military and have been to Tropical smoothies in Idaho and Oklahoma and always enjoyed the food, but this location in Surprise has been a huge let down. The food is hardly ever hot, I've had to take my food back a select few times because the order wasn't right or we ordered a Super green salad or wrap and it was full of romaine lettuce and no spinach or leafy greens (and my husband HATES romaine and was not happy), or even once had a wrap once that had close to nothing in it. I had to take it back to have it remade. I've tried to give chance after chance hoping it will be different but after my meal today (the ultimate club), the meat was dry and cold, hardly any Chipotle mayo or lettuce in it, and they got my side wrong. So I have decided I'm done trying and its time to find a different smoothie place. Good luck. read more

So over the years, I have continued to patronage this business. But the customer service, quality of food products, and overall condition of the store has deteriorated. Customer service is below par. Not personable at all. Like robots serving you. They are trying to grasp at some "healthy alternatives" for their food. However, all the products are pre cooked and sealed in bags for the employees to piece them together, then warm them up in the microwave. I've been going here for a while and getting the "Triple Berry Oat" smoothie which says it comes with whey protein and I always ask them to substitute the whey for soy, but today I tried to order it and the person taking my order told me it comes prepackaged together so she can't take the whey protein out. This is dangerous for employees to knowingly give customers whey when they've asked for something else as they could have a deadly allergic reaction. Just caught wind that this store is losing a lot of their crew & management team after losing most of their night crew last month. I'm assuming this is a issue with the hire up management. The girls in the morning are so friendly and it sucks to see them go. I've seen Tropical smoothie do better, been going too this location for about 2 1/2 years now and it's slowing losing it's service. The other night I visited this location and ordered a Paradise Point, it was not blended all the way and was flavorless. Went back in the next morning and spoke to the Manager Shae and explained to her what happened and she apologized and remade it immediately even though there were other customers waiting. I've only been here 3 times. Each time I try and give it another chance because my daughter likes it. Last Friday will be the last time. Each time I have come I am the ONLY customer in the restaurant. Each time there are 4-5 employees behind the counter. A customer would also assume that all 4-5 employees were all working since they are wearing uniforms and name tags and appear to be working. As it turns out some of them are just hanging out. They are eating ingredients out of the bag with their hands in full view of me without any sense of how disgusting that is while they concoct "crazy smoothies" for themselves and dare each other to taste it. They never wash their hands while they continue to eat and then touch other ingredients and the machines. You and your 14 y/o daughter are also privy to such loud staff conversations as "Mrs. (inaudible) is such a fucking bitch, I had her for English". On top of all this I'm pretty sure the strawberry and banana smoothie you gave me made me sick. This place is absolutely nasty. There is a manager who is employed here, her name is Libby I believe. She should be fired. The way she was treating her employees was horrible and the customers even worse. I saw her glare down multiple staff members and she was extremely rude and short with them. She had an attitude the entire time I was in this establishment. She had an attitude with everyone in line and when asked simple questions, she responded like she would rather be doing anything else. This woman should never be put in a position of leadership especially over young teenage children. I expect her to be at the very least demoted and hopefully fired. The wait time for one smoothie is longer than it should be. the routine they have going on needs to be modified to become more efficient. The staff is friendly, just slow if it's busy or not. This was my first time visiting a Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I was definitely underwhelmed. I was told the smoothies have added sugar in them...why? Fruit and juice are packed enough with sugar, I have no idea why sugar needs to be added. I went ahead and ordered a smoothie without sugar and it tastes like ice blended with one piece of fruit. $6 for a smoothie that tastes like water shouldn't be acceptable.
