In our quest to drive thru Hana, we were looking for food after having stopped at the Black Sand Beach for like 4 hrs. We were actually coming here to eat at another place, but it turns out this is a little food stall type of place with multiple food options. There was a fish and seafood type place, a Mexican place, coffee place, a shaved ice place, and this place I ended up ordering from. The lady working the counter was super friendly. I asked her what their specialties are. And she went thru about 3 or 4 dishes. Eventually helping me chose their BBQ pork dish. They served it to me right there on the spot with no wait. I also ordered a passion orange drink and total bill eith tip (lady was so nice and helpful), came out to a little over $21. Food portion is huge!! Lots of shredded pork. Sauce is amazing. Pork is tender. All over a bed of white rice. Just sitting their soaking up all that yummy goodness, making sure no excess sauce goes to waste. Macaroni salad was good too. There's bench style seating all over the place. A somewhat large gravel parking lot to the side. So even though you see the limited parking off the road, don't fret there's more around the corner. A nice atmosphere and vibe. My friend says the fish and seafood cart was also really good. I would recommend stopping here, to get some food, stretch the legs and take a quick break along the road to Hana. Only thing it's missing is a public bathroom. But a must stop along the road to Hana.

Possibly one of the best places you can stop for lunch on the Road to Hana (if you make it on a Tuesday or Wednesday!). The lady working there was super friendly and gave us great suggestions to try. The stuffed fish fillet was one of the recommendations - was not expecting it to be fried but it was very good and flavorful. The bbq pork plate was also delicious but slightly too sweet for my liking. Overall the quality and taste of the food was a 10/10!

After travelling Hana Hwy all day, hiking multiple spots and just being Hangry.. we stumbled upon this spot. Located on the side of the street with a few other vendors, he had a pretty long line and it all looked really good. As I am writing this review from Las Vegas my mouth is watering wishing I was eating this plate of food again. I was really hungry and it was really good. The owner catches his fish locally and it was all fresh. I got the stuffed fish, salad and pork. Wow, so good. I highly suggest if you are in the area and like food to check it out. If for some reason, you don't like what he has, there are other vendors there are well. But damn, it was good.

Want a taste of Hawaii on a plate? Well look no further because Troys Plate Lunch will hook you up with the tastiest meals to fill your empty stomach. I got the Sirloin loco moco plate with brown rice and macaroni salad. The plate came with 2 perfectly cooked over easy eggs. The eggs oozed over the sirloin covered with brown gravy. Sirloin was flavorful. It paired very nicely with the macaroni salad. Ngl, I was sad when I took the last bite of the meal. It was so delicious and also very filling. Definitely worth checking out.

Yummmm. This place is very good! I only wish they were open longer (for "dinner" hours). Tried the Korean chicken (so soft it falls off the bone) and fish tacos. They have a small picnic area behind the food truck.

Have to say.. I had the bbq pork plate and it was the tastiest and leanest pork I've had in a long time. The brown rice was good and the Mac salad was delicious. My husband had the fish tacos and he has been eating a lot of those since we got to Maui. He said Troy's was the best he's had. Wow! If you ever find yourself in Hana, you have to eat here.

Mixed plate, fish & chips, new item on the menu - some kind of sandwich (super delicious too)

OMG! The food here was AMAZING! After whole morning at red sand beach, we picked this place for lunch & each ordered different items. Fish & chips: freshly caught by Troy, the owner. I was told it was one of the best. Burger with Hawaiian deer meat (sorry I forgot the name of the burger) looked & smelled so yummy. The boy inhaled it. I ordered a mixed plate that someone shares on Yelp before. Both their chicken & pork were great! Sandwich - forgot the name too... new item on their menu, also with couple of options, including there vegetarian. We ordered the one with meat. OMG, so good! I like it even better than my mixed plate! lol Both owners are very friendly. They also have plenty of well spaced outdoor seating area with sanitizing station right by their ordering window. Highly recommended!

Troy and Diane are the greatest! Was visiting from LA on the Road to Hana trip. The BBQ mix plate was . Customer service was excellent and their dining area was welcoming and located in the shade. Make sure you try this place before leaving Hana. You will not be disappointed!

Their poke bowl is one of the best! The place has beautiful fruit trees and outside seatings. We ordered fresh cut to order pineapple and lilikoi. They cut lilikoi fresh from the tree!

We ended up here because the popular and high Yelp-rated Braddah Hut's was closed... On a Saturday. LOCATION: Koki Beach. Look for the small hut with the neon "open" sign. ATMOSPHERE: The open-air hut has a gravel/dirt floor. The food is served out of hot trays on one side with table seating for about 15 on the other side, along with a separate gazebo off to the side which can seat about 6 comfortably. The ambiance is very relaxing and peaceful. Very clean and no insect problem. MENU: Chicken, pork, shrimp, fish. FOOD: BBQ Pork - $10 bought me a nice portion of tender pork. The pork wasn't seasoned much and relied mainly on the drizzled-over BBQ sauce for flavor, something I'm not a fan of. I like barbecued meats that are marinated. The single scoop of rice was a little mushy which is better than dried out, and the macaroni-pea salad was a bit thin and runny; not the best I've had but definitely not the worst either. RESERVATIONS: Definitely not taken as it's a food stand with seating. SERVICE: The owner Troy was very friendly, welcoming, and professional. He was serving and cashing. Ditto for the the lady working with him who I'm assuming was his wife. TIP: Cash only. OVERALL: Decent food, good portion sizes, nice ambiance, great service.

Overall a pretty good choice amongst the food trucks here! The staff is very friendly, and the food was good. We got the Korean BBQ Chicken and the Loco Moco. The Korean BBQ Chicken came with a lot of food, two big pieces of chicken, with rice underneath as well as more rice on the side, and I got this with macaroni on the side as well. The macaroni was a great choice and very good. There was a lot of rice overall though which I wasn't able to finish all of. I would totally recommend their Korean BBQ Chicken. The Loco Moco is definitely more of a personal taste, I do not think I would get it again but that's just of my opinion, it's a pretty heavy meal. It was prepared well! Overall would recommend this food truck if you're in the area.

Oh my gosh -- amazing! I had meal envy for sure - my wife got Troy's Stuffed Fish -- incredible!! I had the Chicken Katsu -- it was good as well, but the Stuffed Fish -- highly recommend!

My favorite local take out stand.... The stuffed uhu is my fav hands down. Troy and Diane are the sweetest!

    The burger was enormous!

If you're not starving, then there's enough to share for two. One of the best Loco Mocos we had on our trip. They're located in an area with multiple little food trucks, and they have plenty of tables in the middle to enjoy your food. There's a little parking lot nearby - we didn't have any problems finding a place to park. Their hours are not necessarily on a timetable - I don't think they opened until an hour after what they said online. But if you can make it while they're open, then it is totally worth it.

Both the wife and I decided on Joel's and for once we both decided on the same dish. With a quick order, we were spending some time finding a seat, and looking at some of the other vendors who are also here at the trucks. This is a great and casual place to get your food on. There are a couple of other places that you can go, but the food to choose from here at least for me is just too hard to beat. When we got our food, we were happy it's the portions of both the teriyaki beef and the garlic shrimp. I would suggest that if you get the garlic shrimp, that you have anyone else whom you plan on talking to or being closer than 2 feet from you also eat the garlic shrimp. These things are delicious but will keep vampires away for quite a while. Simply put this is a great stop to get your quick food on, easily eat in 10-15 mins and you can be on the road in 30 mins or less if your in a hurry, or like us, just soak in that glorious weather and have a great meal. The portion size was appropriate and the price is typical of what you will find on the island and keep in mind that you are also in Hana so just keep that in mind. No dollar menus here!! You find yourself on the road to Hana, stop in at the food truck area and stop and Joel's. You wont be sorry.

My husband and I each ordered a Huli Huli chicken deluxe plate which came with tons of tender, moist chicken, white rice, Mac salad and greens. We also decided to try one of their Kahlúa pork sliders, which was more the size of a regular sandwich than a slider. All in all we had way too much food, and we could have easily shared one of the deluxe plates, but it just meant we had plenty of leftovers to take back to our hotel with us. The server on floor was a man of many suits is what my granddad said. He juggled hosting, clearing tables, taking orders, food delivery service, phone orders, and serving meals. His service was very efficient and hospitable. Their menu is expansive which made deciding both easy and hard for most of us since their whole menu sounded great. We all ended up with their top sellers, the server knowing it was our first time to Hawaii recommended this famous Hawaiian dish. Something about hearing homemade gravy and burger patties along with runny eggs sounds too good to miss out on, with being name Loco Moco, what's not to try? Their famous smoked pork (what they are known for) glazed with this sweet pineapple sauce with a nice punch of heat was definitely a highlight for everyone at the table. We also got the Korean style beef ribs that's served on a hot skillets. The aroma filled the restaurant and definitely captured everyone's attention, this by far was my favorite thing on our table aside from the coconut cake which we had for dessert (Justin, tell your sister I need the recipe!).
