Stopped by here for a late breakfast with my five year old nephew after his swim lesson down the street. He got the California scramble and I got the breakfast burrito. He really enjoyed his scramble with avocado and bacon and ate almost the entire plate including the toast and potatoes. The burrito was the perfect size for a breakfast portion filled with potatoes, eggs, cheese, bacon, and tomatoes. Adding the salsa made the perfect bite. I also had a cafe latte. Breakfast is served until 2pm. They also have baked goods and a lunch menu. The service was friendly and helpful. You order at the register, pick up drinks when your name is called, and food is delivered to your table. There are tables inside, a few couches, a communal table, and outside seating. Wifi is also available for those wishing to get work done. Located in a plaza with other small businesses on the corner of Chapman and Newport. Plenty of parking available. read more

Staff was nice and drinks were mediocre, but the atmosphere is weird. The whole place gives off a creepy Christian vibe and everywhere you look there are posters advertising Bible study. I LOVE this place. Their coffee to their food. It's all amazing. The staff is kind and accommodating. The wait for your order is good. The bathrooms are clean. The only thing I cannot stand about TruBru is you can almost never find a place to sit. People walk in their with their computers and sit and occupy tables for hours. Hours!! For those that would like to eat lunch or breakfast, they can't. But those that get one coffee sit there for hours. I really wish they would set a time limit on tables, so that others who actually spend their money there and support them, have a place to eat. read more

Went here one time. It's a total yuppie hangout. Not my kind of place. My drink order took 8-10min to get. Wasn't anything special that I ordered. Parking sucks, the staff was nice, just not very engaging. The crowd seemed to have their noses a bit in the air. But hey some people like that stuff, just not me. We arrived here as a family on a Sunday morning. The cozy coffeshop was very busy but the line moved fast and the staff taking orders were helpful and friendly. There was a couch next to a fireplace, a community table and individual seating for smaller groups. It appeared to be a place where you could sit down for a couple of hours to work off the laptop, just as well as grab-n-go post workout. We ordered the following which all were flavorful and well portioned : mocha latte, avocado toast with lemon pepper, Denver scramble, oatmeal topped with berries, and buttermilk pancakes. Their vegan turmeric and zucchini muffins along with the other fresh made pastries looked fabulous! If we make it to the OC again soon - we'll circle back here for more delicious items. read more

Nestled in a charming shopping complex in Orange, this restaurant has a very neighborly feel to it. I came here early on a Sunday morning around 8:15, to avoid the crowds. The place was filling up with cyclists, families with young children and a very active crowd. I went to the checkout and ordered the vegetable omelette and buttermilk pancakes with an Americano and a latte. The omelette was excellent. Cooked to perfection. I liked the buttermilk pancakes but they were nothing out of the ordinary. Tru Bru roasts their coffee fresh everyday. You can taste it in their coffee drinks. The service here is good. They were friendly and helpful at the counter. The place is appealing. If your in for a nice, casual weekend or weekday morning breakfast, check this place out!! read more

Recently stopped in for a breakfast burrito plus a vanilla latte. Both were yummy, especially (and surprisingly for me) the burrito (which I had with bacon). The service was quick too which I appreciated. L, especially because this place was super packed. The person that helped me, I think he had red or light brown hair (actually I can't even remember now lol) and possibly wore glasses (good thing I don't need to identify this guy in a lineup because I'd be terrible at it) was super friendly. read more

We love coming here for breakfast during the weekends. It does get crowded and you might have to settle with a table under the sunny Southern California sky. Coffee drinks are great. The lavender latte is excellent and not sweet at all (a personal plus). For food the usual go-to's are breakfast burrito and lox on bagel. read more

Horrible service. We ordered the scramble and my husband asked two workers for salsa and was directed to the condiment counter. Minutes later, I saw someone with a breakfast burrito with a side of salsa. Second, I was waiting forever for my green tea & finally asked about it. Then was told by the worker that I should've communicated that. So rude. I cannot stand dealing with this OC type behavior. Manager came out to see what was going on. Didn't bother asking me. This place seems to be always packed. I mean it's close to a school so makes sense. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. Finally got a chance the person working the register was a little rude. I asked for a flat white, they asked what that was... you're kidding?? My wife and I got food I got my latte. We sat outside as I said this place was packed so finding a seat was a little difficult. We waited a long while for our food and my coffee. The social media manager that was taking photos of coffee noticed we've been waiting for a while.. she took the initiative to go in check on our food and coffee.. I'm sure if she didn't we would have been sitting forever. Overall experience was "okay" food was good, and the coffee Im sure was a very dark roast. Tasted a little burnt, but again it was probably an extremely dark roast. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just like more a medium dark roast. read more

Love Tru Bru one of my absolute favorite coffee shops. I love their delicious food items as well! Fun cozy vibe inside and you can occasionally see the horses walk by on the trail too. Service can sometimes take a little long when it's busy but the staff do well to accommodate. read more

Visited here for the first time. My wife had a pancake breakfast and she didn't care about it at all. Myself had the eggs and bacon which was just OK. Spent over $50 for a mediocre breakfast. We never had chance to get a refill for our coffee since they want us to stay in line for a refill while eating our breakfast. Won't come back. read more

One of my favorite spots to grab a latte & bite to eat for breakfast! They have a great menu for breakfast & lunch as well as a variety of delicious pastries. Everything is fresh & worth trying. Service is great- everyone is nice & it's fairly quick. My family has been a long time supporter of Tru Bru but we have been so disappointed by their handling of covid. They've offered spaced out indoor seating pretty much the entire pandemic - which is still ongoing. No one regulates how many people are allowed inside and there have been a number of occasions where people walk in maskless and no employee asks them to put a mask on. It's ridiculous and irresponsible at this point! I enjoy the coffee and some of the food items are great, but I just don't think it's worth possibly getting sick for! Tru Bru - do better! read more

Very long wait times on certain days (just means that it's popular for a reason, because it's amazing) I was visiting from out of town, and tried the açaí bowl place nearby and the owner recommended I try out the Tru Bru so I did and got the back breakfast burrito, which I added avocado to and it was AMAZING. I told my family "this is the best breakfast burrito I've ever had" Before leaving town, I went back the next day to grab another one for my drive home. The wait time was long even with me calling in my order but I still feel like it was worth the wait. Would you rather have McDonald's in 5 minutes or a delicious meal that takes 20-30 minutes? ‍ Try the breakfast burrito with bacon and add avocado!! read more

I'm not a fan of this place. There's a bomb açaí spot nearby, as well as cyranno's cafe in the same shopping center. I went to tru bru for the cinnamon latte and was shocked and disappointed by their offering of indoor seating- in the height of COVID- and people would just walk in and order with no mask on! I felt very unsafe and got out ASAP. On top of that, it's all basic and bland food and drinks at high prices. You get wayyyyy more flavor and bang for your buck at the other places I mentioned. read more

This is one of the BEST coffee and wine places I have been too. I have only been for coffee but prior to Covid, the wine bar and fireplace was a cozy location for a date . My favorite drink is the Chai Latte with Hemp milk. It is literally the best chai I have had. Everyone that works here is pleasant and genuinely seems happy to be at work. Disgusting. I bought a latte and went to go in and study, and these two men walk in without masks in sight. They were laughing with the two people working in the front and they weren't wearing masks or holding them. Also, the employee working in the back who makes the food was not wearing a mask either. How do you expect to walk into a place where no one wears masks and feel comfortable? I called the girl working there over and I asked her, "If you have a sign outside that says you have to wear masks, how come they're not forced to. You didn't even tell the two guys to wear them." Then she gave me some vague response. Then I told her "How come your employee isn't wearing a mask." I showed her the picture. She was speechless and did not say anything. I also said, "How do you expect me to not think that this coffee is contaminated?" I hadn't drank the latte yet, and I told her I wasn't going to because I didn't feel safe. She refunded it and as she was giving the money back, she and her manager were laughing at me. When she gave me my cash back, the girl behind the counter said "Feel better." So incredibly rude. So unproffesional, this place should be shut down immediately. Or at least, fire these horrible employees. read more
