We stumbled into Truck as we passed by one Wednesday night because it had some good reviews on Yelp and we were very pleasantly surprised . All fresh and local ingredients; homemade tortilla chips; and excellent margaritas. The flautas were great and the Truck burger is my go-to entree. We've been back twice since and quality is consistent. Only issue was the Sunday night at 6:30 when the place appeared to fill up all at once and the kitchen couldn't really keep up. Went there on a Friday night in August and the place was rocking. Loved the decor. Service was friendly , but super slow. Took a long time to get drinks and water. We ordered chips and guacamole. Portion was on the small side, but homemade chips and guacamole were delicious. We ordered fish tacos for dinner with a side of black beans , also delicious. The coconut cake , which is my favorite was also very good. So if you don't mind slow service , a noisy restaurant with delicious food check it out. read more

I really love this place! I especially enjoy the tacos and margaritas. The margaritas are CRAZY good and I have always found they are generous on the tequila (haha). Keep in mind they are also pretty pricey. $12 for a regular margarita and I believe the flavored ones are $14. But they are so good! The fried oysters are also delicious. The service is decent but if you go on a busy Friday or Saturday night you will definitely have to to wait a bit. The bar is small, maybe 4 seats? Excellent ambience. Food is all organic. For instance they have grass feed beef (though don't all cows eat grass as i assume hay is a form of grass) There tacos are a great bargain at $3.50 a piece. When you look at their combo plates it is often the same price to order a-la-cart. Meals can be dirt cheap if you want, like just order 2 tacos. But realistically gonna be about $18-25 per person. Very reasonable Also deserts. They have regular ice cream cones. But better than regular icecream cones is their mini-ice cream cones. Went there last Saturday night and the place was hopping. I don't get it. They charge for salsa and chips. Neither being that good. I had tacos and my husband ordered burritos. He got one burrito. I got three tacos ... that's it. No rice or beans. Waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Mediocre food, poor service, overly noisy and overpriced. So I always liked this restaurant until I went there last week with my 3.5 year old daughter. I frequently eat out with her and she loves to drink out of the cups the restaurant provides with a cover and straw but sadly I was told by the waitress that the restaurant no longer offered this. Than I ordered a beef taco for her and specifically asked for only tomatoes and Cheese and they both be on the side. When the food showed up there was lettuce and tomato mixed into the taco. My daughter refused to touch it when she saw the lettuce mixed in. I would NOT recommend this restaurant if you have children due to these reasons. read more

If you get there without a reservation the hostess will let empty tables sit while you .stand there waiting, saying the table is for a party with a reservation. I've given this place a few tries since it opened in the hope that it would improve. Unfortunately it hasn't. Many reviews here have discussed the incredibly slow service. I ordered two tacos and they took more than 45 minutes to get to the table. I was dining alone for a late lunch. There were only four other tables occupied at the time. This isn't so far off from my previous experiences here, and I should point out that I don't think it's the server's fault. She was keeping busy and paying attention to her tables. There just wasn't anything coming out of the kitchen in a timely manner. Bear in mind that I'm not expecting fast food here. (Far from it in fact when they charge $10 for chips and guacamole.) If you want to spent too much money to wait too long for food that's just OK, come to Truck. Otherwise seek other options. read more

This place was really disappointing. I appreciate the farm to table concept however I think everything was so poorly executed and outrageously over priced. I enjoyed the atmosphere our hostess was friendly and our waitress was very attentive. I had no problems w the service. My issue was with the food. I ordered the chicken with Monterey Jack cheese and was completely disappointed when my taco came with just that. No sour cream, no tomatoes no lettuce nothing just chicken and cheese. Now maybe that would have been okay if it had some flavor! I don't even think my chicken was seasoned with the basic salt and pepper! The chicken was also SO dry I was shocked. Next I ordered a fish taco which was $7.50 so I expected an amazing taco. It came with a blue corn tortilla that completely fell apart I ended up eating the taco with a fork. My fish, which was salmon, was cooked to DEATH. Hard as a brick. It was honestly just a crime. Also, I was a little annoyed because in the description it said the fish taco came with an Asian slaw but then it came w lettuce, onion and tomato, definitely not an Asian slaw. The two tacos were $13 total. Totally not worth it. The only thing I liked here was the guacamole. But felt for $10 they should have given double the portion size. I will most likely not return. This was our second time at Truck within the last two years, small parking lot that is always packed, the restaurant is decorated really nice, great service, the food is just ok. The last time we went the tacos were smaller, but better. This time the tacos were larger, but still dripping in deep fryer oil, as were the chips that came with the salsa. The food is pricey for the size of the portions. Will we return, probably not, I'd rather spend $20 at the supermarket and have leftovers with no indigestion. read more

Just got back from TRUCK. This was my second visit. I enjoyed the food, especially the pork and oyster tacos. There was something that bothered me. While dining, I could see the cashier. She was cleaning salad greens without any gloves. I saw her take two menus from a waitress, then proceed to keep picking at the greens. I told our waitress this was not sanitary. She went and spoke with the manager (who said nothing to the cashier who keep picking the greens). When leaving I spoke with the manager who told me "I saw her wash her hands, it's ok". Was really excited to try this place out and was pretty disappointed overall. Myself and my 2 girlfriends had reservations on a Thursday night a few weeks ago (just getting to my review now). The place was so packed we could barely get to the bar, let alone get a drink. They definitely needed another bartender. Long story short, we waited an hour past our reservation time to be seated. One full hour, standing at a cramped bar, barely getting drinks. Had to check in with the hostess 3 times to see what the deal was. They were nice about it, apologetic (but only after I kept checking in). The food was ok, for westchester mexican standards (I mean this isnt SoCal). Their enchiladas had good flavor, but they were served like a quesadilla, which was kind of annoying. Lets stick to traditional mexican, and not try and be "cute". My friends werent blown away with their dishes either, but unfortunately I cant remember what they had. They did however give us a free dessert for our wait, which was definitely nice, but really not much more was said. I just dont see what all the hype was about. I get what theyre trying to do- cool, fun, "hipster-restaurant" vibe, "cool" lighted letters on the wall, but I dont know, just missed the mark for me. Parking is atrocious - tiny lot is is often full - you'll have to park across the street and dodge traffic. Margaritas are delicious - a unique homemade mix with fresh juice, and they always have a seasonal special. Tacos are Terrific! Larger than traditional and very fresh. Desserts are kitchy versions of your childhood Hostess favorites, but dessert portions are small. They do take reservations (which you will certainly need), but they don't allow enough time per table and on a busy night you'll be politely asked to "move to the bar to finish your drinks". It's a small place and gets busy, and they are trying to manage that, but I don't like being rushed. Overall, the food and service are great, but this place is stupidly $ for what you get. Sadly, Truck has become more scene over substance. We have eaten here on several occasions and unfortunately, the last few visits have been less enjoyable. I never like to make a quick judgement, but this was the third and last time I will lay down so much money for unsatisfactory Mexican food, especially when you can venture out and about in Westchester and find high quality mom and pop places offering more flavorful and authentic Mexican at a fraction of the cost. So here are the food specific details: We have always ordered the tacos. They used to come out with delicious, perfectly spiced and flavored meats, fish or veggies, wrapped in a soft corn tortilla, that tasted homemade, even if it wasn't. The slaw on top, was fresh and clean, offering a contrast to the fillings. This last time my son ordered the brisket tacos. The brisket was tasty, but on top was a clump of slaw that could only be described as gooey and overly mayonnaised. It did not have the appropriate bite to offer that necessary contrast. The corn tortilla was gummy and lacking flavor. I ordered the Mexican salad with chicken. The salad was wilted and the chicken was dry and flavorless. We also ordered a veggie side. I'm a veggie person, so I'll eat whatever you put in front of me. For a side at a restaurant I would have expected some lovely toasted garlic and the kick of some chili to elevate their delicious organic produce. This was not the case. Perhaps they are cooking with a child's palette in mind. When the check came, I was astounded that for 5 tacos, a salad, a veggie side, a soda and a drink cost over 120.00. I don't mind spending my pennies on great food, so next time I'm taking my wallet elsewhere. read more

Fabulous! I came in last night with a small group of family to find a packed out restaurant. We were politely greeted by the hostess who told us there would be around a 5-10 minute wait but we could hang out by the bar and get a drink. She stated they would come grab us when ready. We went over to get a few cocktails and beers and I had one of the best margaritas! They have seasonal flavors to choose from and I chose the cranberry one... extremely delicious!! Strong and flavorful, made by a bar tender who knew exactly what he was doing and performed at a rapid speed that impressed me thoroughly. He was not at all stressed with the crowd and still remained pleasant with the customers. Once we were seated (in the exact amount of time they informed us of at greeting) we found that the bartender was also our waiter! He handled his workload like a pro and was excellent and attentive throughout the meal. He impressed us all. The corn chips and salsa are so fresh and obviously made in house. I appreciate that they use organic food items and put care into their menu. They also have vegetarian options which is excellent. We rounded off our appetizers with the chorizo con queso and that was to die for as well, served with soft tortillas. We all ordered different dinner items, but I can honestly say every single plate was clean before we stood up to exit the restaurant. I had the vegetable burrito with the cilantro rice (brilliant) and black beans. The plate was full of flavor and was the perfect amount of food. We were too full for desserts but this is definitely a place we will all frequent as often as we can! Wonderful establishment, great staff, great food. We had a great time! read more
