Our first time was pretty good. Sushi happy hour was good At $3.50 per roll but they weren't huge rolls. Chicken lo mein was so good we got some more for takeout. Chicken dumplings were fantastic. House soup was just ok. Next time we will try the miso. But overall it was good enough. They should turn down the lights a bit because it was too bright in there. I love this place the sushi is to die for I have ordered everytime I go different sushi rolls and honestly I haven't tried a bad tasting one they all taste different and delicious. Also last time I went I ordered from the lunch special salmon teriyaki with pork fried rice and it was so good they gave me a good portion of salmon. This is a super cute, clean, and tiny location with friendly staff. (One of the ladies is hilariously loud, but provides excellent service, nonetheless) Every time I go back (which is often), I am just as pleased as my first visit. As others have stated, the sushi happy hour is great! Lots to choose from for a low price, so you can mix and match to get a fun variety for the table. Sadly, the happy hour is only available for those dining in, and we tend to get take-out more than anything else. Tao Asian is close to our house and the sushi is yum. Shopping center is quiet and it's easy to park close to the door of the restaurant (which is great when I'm picking up take-out). Service is standard - nothing notably good or bad. Tao Asian menus will remain a staple on our fridge! Update: You can now order Tao Asian online, too! Pretty awesome. They still have to call you to confirm the order which is a little weird, but I must prefer ordering online versus reading a long list of sushi orders over the phone. Yay! read more

We visited Tao Asian last night based on the reviews we read here!! And we were not disappointed!! We all agreed that we will be visiting this restaurant again! I was in the mood for Thai food but I hadn't yet introduced my family to it, so taking them to an Asian fusion style restaurant was perfect! The restaurant was packed when we arrived, and we probably saw about 5 people picking up to go orders, so we knew we must have found a gold mine. We ordered miso soup (which I loved but my mom found to be a bit too salty) edamame, shrimp lover roll (amazing, like a flavor explosion), sweet and sour chicken and Thai panang curry. Everything was amazing and we ate everything family style which honestly is ideal because nothing came out at the same time. I was actually surprised by this, because earlier reviewers had mentioned this as well... I would have thought they would have remedied that issue by now. If we were each only eating what we ordered we would have been eating in shifts, not all together. The atmosphere is beautiful and the servers are kind, but I still think they have some kinks to work out. We will definitely eat here again, but always when we are not in a rush and we have some time to just enjoy all of the fantastic food. read more

My family and I love Tao asian. The staff is wonderful. They love playing with my one year old. The sushi is fresh and delicious. We love going to happy hour for $3.50 rolls. They have some great options for happy hour too. I was able to get everything I wanted for under $15! My favorite is the dynamite roll. Worst Customer Service. I came to dine here for the first time with my wife today. They sat us at a small table in the middle of the restaurant, which we did not like. We noticed a a booth open and asked if we could sit there instead. The hostess said, "no, we reserve booths for larger parties", however each occupied booth only had two people each. I pointed this out that they already sat couples in booths and why couldn't I have one. They gave the same answer again. We asked the elder waitress and she gave the same answer. Another waiter chimed in that this was their rule. At this point, I decided they did not need my business if they wanted to debate the fact that they already went against their rule at all other booths. Last time I ate there I said it would be the last after seeing the sushi chef go outside, smoke a cigarette and come back in and start making sushi without washing his hands. Fast forward to tonight, my husband picked up sushi, panang curry and pad thai without my knowledge.... the sushi smelled bad, was LOADED with tempura flakes (wasn't listed as an ingredient in the specific rolls, they must add because it's a cheap filler) and overall inedible. The pad thai was loaded with fish sauce and it smelled like rotten fish as well. The panang curry was bland and just plain not good at all. We had been looking forward to the opening. Finally made it there on Saturday. My wife ordered sushi which is a great deal in happy hour. I ordered a dish i had been longing for while: beef chow fun. We also ordered a couple of soups as appetizers. Food came in random order and some nebpver came. After my wife was done with her sushi, which she loved, it took a good 20 mins for the rest of the food to arrive. My guess is they forgot about it because when it arrived it was setaming hot and it felt as if the food was prepared in a rush. We liked the flavors and will attribute the issues to how new the place is. Will definitely give it another try, specially for sushi. read more

I'm so glad we tried Tao Asian. We've had to deal with Summer Palace for far too long. The food is pretty good. To a huge fan of the pad Thai, but I did like the lo mein. I also enjoyed the veggies. Received the menu in the mail...thought we would try it. Food was awful! Not worth the price at all! Customer service was terrible. Tuna was missing from the the sushi roll and I was told it was there. I literally pulled the roll apart and there was no tuna! Szechuan Flaming Wok has a tingly, chemical taste to it. The food was ok but the attitude from the servers made the place being excluded from my choice of dinning in my own neighborhood. Well used to love this place. Went to get sushi and a trainee was working on it. Two orders one shrimp tempura and one crunchy spicy salmon roll took 50 min. Oh then I didn't feel like giving a tip. What was there to give a tip for. The waitress was busy talking to family then sweeping the place while we were waiting for food. Didn't even ask if the food the good or how I was doing. So I thought wait this is a family business and missing out on a 3$ tip wouldn't be a big deal nope that was a bad idea the owner just walks out asking wait begging for a tip. First time someone just walked out and confronted me for a freaking tip. Seriously first the food was shit second the owners family was just talking all the damn time for $21 food begging for a $3 tip.
