It caters to people with gluten allergies as well as Soy and several other things. We met some friends down here and we're seated quickly everyone wanted a drink and they have a fabulous selection. We ordered an appetizer of hummus and it was served with flour tortilla strips which were gluten free. I ordered the Spicy Penang Curry and my wife ordered the Spaghetti squash Casserole. Both dishes looked amazing when they came out. My Penang curry was not spicy at all and I was really glad they asked me if I wanted chicken or beef to go in the curry. The curry had some kind of forbidden rice, which was a black rice that was very very small grained. The curry was creamy but not spicy. This was my first and probably last time eating here. The food took a very long time to come out. I had ordered the lasagna it was completely cold not just slightly. The waitress took it back to get it hot. It took a long time again to come back out the edges were warm the rest totally cold again. Really cute place. I had the Brussel sprouts app... odly they came out with my entree and they were cold. So we sent them back and the second one they brought was on a really hot plate, but the Brussel sprouts weren't any warmer than the first set. So really disappointed. And they really lacked flavor. Wouldn't recommend. For my entree, I had the butternut squash pizza. It was good, the crust was crunchy and thin. Yum! Wish it had a bit more of a garlicky taste. But overall I'd give it a 7/10. Came here for my birthday brunch on a Saturday morning. Wasn't sure how busy they would or wouldn't be but turns out we were the only table at that hour. I've been on a very restricted diet so it was nice feeling like I could eat anything off the menu and it be safe. I ordered the crustless quiche and yummm. So savory with the Gouda cheese. Iced coffee is delightful as well! The restaurant itself is just off of the Town Center Mall and has a large indoor seating area. For being such a slow morning, we were a bit surprised to have felt forgotten about by our server to the point of having to ask the hostess to find them so we could pay our bill. This was our first time to a True Food Kitchen and it was a great experience. We had a large group (9 of us) from 6 years old to 93, and it's hard to satify everyone, but TFK did it. I had a gluten free Margherita pizza with a small Chopped Salad - medjool date, dried cranberry, jicama, organic apple, manchego, farro, marcona almond, champagne vinaigrette. The pizza was very good (not easy with GF crust) and the salad was a fresh variety of fruits and vegetables. My wife had the full size Chopped Salad which she enjoyed. I wasn't paying close attention to what everyone else had, but they all seemed to enjoy the meal. Service was also good. We live in NJ and there's a True Food Kitchen there as well, which we'll be trying soon. read more

The big unfortunate thing about why this meal got 3 stars was that the avocado was extremely green & the corn tortillas were very stale. I pointed this out to my waiter & only got an "I'm sorry, I'll report to my manager". I actually stopped in because the entirety of the meal sounded appealing. However instead I got a very tasty tofu scramble and a very weak supporting cast. The atmosphere always feels right, and today was no different. I felt quite comfortable and centered. I'm always on the lookout for new and healthy restaurant options, and since I go to the Town Center Mall often, True Food Kitchen has been on my radar for some time. We stopped by at 3pm for a late lunch. The staff was very friendly and seated us quickly. The dining area is pleasant, airy and comfortable. The light and noise level were perfect and helped create an ambiance that was chilled out and conducive to conversation. As for the food, love the concept, the execution not so much. I was really excited to try things here so we ordered a cross section of offerings including the edamame dumplings, the sautéed brussel sprouts, the spaghetti squash casserole, the burger and the pizza margherita. I was disappointed with the dumplings right away. The edamame filling was a bit cold and the broth was tepid with barely a hint of flavor. It felt like a poorly reheated afterthought. The brussel sprouts were properly cooked but the spicy kick the waitress told me about from the vinaigrette and chili threads was non exisistant. It wasn't even a 1 out of 10 spicy. Booooo. As for the main courses, I really liked the spaghetti squash casserole. I was looking for something on the light side and this gave me the feeling that I was eating a rich and delicious pasta dish without actually having any pasta. Well done. The pizza was good. Nothing to write home about, but simple, fresh and well-executed. The burger was absolutely terrible. We asked for medium and it came out completely well done and over charred. Also, what kind of place doesn't serve fries with a burger? I get that this place is all about healthy eating and I'm 100% on board with that ethos, but seriously, fried potatoes eaten in moderation are not unhealthy. They're arguably healthier than the burger. And the the mediocre kale salad and sweet potato hash sides aren't cutting it, folks. Overall I was disappointed with our meal here. That burger was absolutely atrocious and the dumplings were really sad and subpar. And our bill came to $80 for this meal. In my opinion, it was not a very good value. Seven adults in our family came here for a Sunday dinner. The three ladies in our group ordered the same spaghetti squash dish, and I ordered the meatloaf based on the recommendation of our waiter. Several minutes later our server comes back to tell us they're out of the spaghetti squash dish. The ladies go back to the menu and choose something else. The server then comes back and says they're also out of the meatloaf...groan!! He returns again and says they Now have the spaghetti squash dish, and I out of desperation decide to have the sliders...but can't because they are made with the meatloaf. I love restaurants that focus on wholesome meals and True Food Kitchen did not disappoint. The menu covers all the bases but isn't overwhelmingly huge. I had a Sparkling Prickly Pear Tisane to drink, the Spaghetti Squash Casserole for my meal, and finished with the Squash Pie for dessert. The drink was nice and refreshing, and I was very happy with the food! The casserole came out piping hot and all vegetables were delicious. The layer of mozzarella on top made eating this the same comforting experience of digging into a bowl of baked pasta topped with gooey cheese. The pie was even better than expected, and I was expecting it to be good! The spice blend was similar to traditional pumpkin pie but the squash they used gave it a slightly different, more earthy flavour. And the heaping of coconut whipped cream was awesome and delicious on its own. The prices are pretty good for this sort of place - the casserole was $16 and made a relatively light but complete meal, the pie was $9 and big enough that I could have shared, and the drink was $5. I like the aesthetic of the restaurant, which I'd describe as modern-rustic if that makes any sense. I was alone so I sat at the full-service bar and got to enjoy a view of the open kitchen. The patio also looked welcoming. Service was good. There were two bartenders and the one that helped me was attentive and friendly. My casserole came out pretty quickly, but the wait for the pie was a bit longer as more people were starting to arrive and the kitchen was getting backed up, but eventually the bartender came by and told me she'd go and take care of it, and I saw her go and get it a few minutes later. Although it was a longer wait than I would have expected, I've certainly experienced worse, but my bartender was very apologetic and when she brought me my bill, I saw that the dessert had been comped which was very generous. The food is just okay and the healthy component that they push is questionable and the restaurant lacks any ambiance. The best dish was a waiter recommended Meatloaf and we should have quit after that. A Pesto dish had a simple subtle taste and was not bad but it was lacking in a clear fresh pesto taste and the overcooked pasta didn't help. We also ordered Trout and I didn't like the fish and I know it's probably dumb to order Trout from a chain restaurant in a mall but we all make mistakes. On a recent trip, we came to celebrate Mother's Day and try the Mothers Day Brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I made a reservation via OpenTable as they tend to get busy since their reopening. Our table was outside, and perfect for this time of year. For this special occasion- they offered 2 fun flower cocktails and a healthy take on strawberry pancakes with Quinoa. The vibe was bright and cheery and our server Lindsey really was great at looking after us and cracking a joke or too. I LOVE their plant based straws meaning no single use plastic! Managment walks the walk and am thrilled about that so I modified my one star rating, which believe it or not has effect on eateries who have fallen behind on the Eco Memo. Went today for lunch. My friend ordered a burger, tomato soup, and chips... I ordered a turkey burger. Arrived at 2:10 and it was not busy at all. After waiting almost 40 min our food finally arrived. The burger was extremely rare and very greasy. Had to pay a $1 up charge for the "chips" which arrived in the size of a coffee cup which wouldn't have been horrible but the chips were tiny broken little pieces straight from a bag of Terro chips. The soup was horrible. It tasted like it was poured from a bottle of Ragu tomato sauce. The turkey burger was mostly filler and I'm betting bought frozen premade. Safe to say we will never return. Went expecting a healthy lunch and left wasting $50 on tasteless garbage. read more

This is the second time we've come to TF for dinner where the service has been unacceptably slow, despite the fact that the restaurant is not full. We arrived and were seated outside. We waited a while for our server but when she arrived we ordered everything, 2 entrees, a beer, a wine and 2 glasses of water. 20 minutes later we get the beer and wine....still no water. We ask for the water and it arrives after about 5 minutes....along with the entree. We had requested the sparkling water but got still. The meatloaf entree was excellent. This experience is just about identical to our last one. Although last time we were seated next to an unruly table where parents allowed their child to literally run around the restaurant and walk on the banquette where people sit. This time the music seemed very odd and while a few songs were OK overall it was distracting and annoying. I have no idea if this is happening to TFK everyone or if it is a Boca issue. But it's sad. We have been going to TFK for over 10 years and it was always a favorite. I'd do takeout from here but the dining experience is terrible. read more

We have had TFK in other cities and it's usually good. This time was not. We had the bison sausage pizza - the crust was not done and it had maybe one small piece of sausage per slice. The Chinese chicken salad was terrible. It said "toasted quinoa" - I think they forgot to toast it and just dumped raw quinoa on it. read more
