It was my first time here and honestly it did not disappoint! I didn't expect the food to taste so fresh and healthy. I ordered the chicken parm not realizing it came with pasta, once I tried it, the pasta was super light and flavorful. I ended up finishing the entire plate, it was that good! As well as for the burger it was really juicy. A must try is the Margherita handmade pizza, you can really taste the difference! It was my favorite thing from here so far. Not only that but when I ate it, it didn't make me feel heavy, it was super light as well and it wasn't oily. It was just perfect. Joey, our server, was amazing. Excellent and healthy cuisine. Well prepared and very flavorful. The times I've been here the wait staff is attentive, personable and very friendly and quite knowledgeable. It's in a shopping mall, but has a very pleasant atmosphere and quite comfortable. My server, Shawna was quite friendly and eager to help and engaging. I enjoy visiting TFK during the week to avoid crowds and enjoy a leisurely meal in a relaxed environment. This evening we arrived at 5 pm and were seated promptly. Our server greeted us, introduced the specials available, and patiently answered questions about ingredients to which I am allergic. He check-in regularly and ensured that each entree was just right. To start we had the guacamole (no cherry tomatoes) with flatbread crisps. It was salted well and tangy, pairing nicely with the peppers. I ordered the spicy Panang curry bowl with blackened shrimp and my friend had the lasagna al pesto. The curry had an enjoyable spice-level and was complimented by the sweet potato and bok choy. I would have preferred more black rice and a firmer sear on the shrimp, as I requested them blackened. The lasagna was reportedly fair but not an order my friend wanted to repeat. It was cooked perfectly medium, the tomatoes were good, but the greasiness of the patty ruined it. On top of that, the bun was dry. It was a very disappointing meal. read more

My first thought about True Food Kitchen is organic and health conscious. They have an open dining room with ample seating and a patio area. The servers are super friendly and accommodating. Today we ordered a lettuce wrap with shrimp as an appetizer with a Thai sauce and veggies. I started with a cup of tomato soup that was dairy free and not acidic at all. I had a burger and upgraded to sweet potato chips. Note: the burger had a fair amount of Parmesan cheese that was a little overwhelming, so if you don't like Parmesan cheese, you might want to ask them to hold it. Cheese pizza for the little one and Teriyaki Chicken Powergrain bowls for the ladies. The food is moderately priced but compared to a lot of organic restaurants, the portions are more substantial. Only my second time here but each time has made me wish I lived closer so I can dine here more frequently. Maybe El Segundo isn't too far from where I live but it's still a trek. Both times, the staff was amazing. Both times, everything we tried was amazing. I don't know how they manage to serve beyond delicately delicious Edamame Dumplings, and scrumptiously hearty Grass-Fed Burger (the one with mushrooms, arugula, onions and cheese) in one place and makes you feel like they specialize in burgers or fine dining dumplings. Whatever you end up chompin' down on, remember to try a drink - whether it's high quality tea or one of their refreshers or craft matches, try it. And definite yes to one of their dessert offerings. I visited this restaurant with co-workers and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food served here. I visited the restaurant years ago in another city and forgot how delicious it is. The service was great as well and very welcoming from the time we walked in. I ordered the SZA Caesar and added salmon. It was very tasty and left me leaving the restaurant feeling healthy and not weighed down. I even like that they have deals listed on the menu which makes me want to return and try. I had a delightful time at True Food Kitchen. The inside was huge and a nice vibe, and our server was lovely. Got the OG refresher juice and was obsessed with it. Want another real bad. Also had the two vegan pizzas, seasonal squash and spinach mushroom. The crust was fierce and they were both unique and tasty, but I could have gone for a nice drizzle of hot sauce on top, or maybe a touch of salt. I'd get either of them again though. So happy there's another place we can eat with the in-laws. What's special here is they're not only focused on delicious tasting foods for omnivores, herbivores and everyone in between, BUT they really about about the quality of the ingredients they use and how it's sourced. You'll see stuff here that you won't see at typical sit down restaurants like avocado oil, sweet potatoes, quinoa, pistachio pesto, and sourdough. You're eating the rainbow when you come here, which is ideally how we all should be eating for optimal nutrition. The butternut squash soup was delicious! And dairy free! The two picky eaters in our party got the ancient grain bowl with chicken and loved it. This is a big win since they're notorious for sending food back at places we've been to. One said she gets this bowl all the time and it's always consistently good. We also got the butternut squash pizza. It had no cheese whatsoever and was AMAZING. I've been to true foods a couple of times and always forget to write a review, but I enjoy the food here. I usually come after SoulCycle. I come every other month or so because I like to try their seasonal stuff and I also like their drinks Today I came in around 11-11:30 and had a coconut foam cold brew very delicious. Also love the kale aid. I ordered the tofu scramble today and it was different from what I expected. I probably wouldn't get it again, but it wasn't bad. I asked for chili crunch hot sauce to go with it bc it was sortof bland. My friend really liked it though.. The steak burrito was cooked perfectly slight pink in the middle, the salsa with it was the right touch. The didn't care for the potatoes that came with it, but paired it with a salmon toast, and that was a nice pair. I like how big the restaurant is and its ambiance. Have had good lunch experiences. Recently tried to have dinner there arrived 1.5 hours before closing) and it was a complete fail. Everyone nice but not up to the job. They took our number to wait, we were never called, and then host was surprised when we asked about it. 15 min later. He then seated us near several occupied tables but the server waited other tables and never even made eye contact with us. After ten minutes of waiting , we handed back our menus to that same server, who was apologetic, and said we were leaving. We went to another restaurant. While there and about to start eating, I got a phone call from TF telling us there was a table ready! This was about 45 minutes after our initial arrival. Came here on a Sunday night around 7pm. There was no wait and we were promptly greeted and sat by the host, however, we left after 10 minutes because we were not greeted or acknowledged by any service staff, despite there being multiple different servers tending to tables near us. A busser was resetting tables around us, and even though we made eye contact with them, they failed to notice that our table did not have silverware -- if the table was never ready, why were we sat there? What's more concerning however, is that we observed a server "abandon" a service tray with multiple glasses of water on it by leaving it at an unoccupied table near us and never coming back to deliver them to a table. This is extremely concerning from a consumer safety standpoint because the waters were left unattended for at least 3 minutes before we had left, and could have become contaminated without the server or guests knowledge. Ultimately, due to the combination of training issues for steps of service and food safety, I have to leave a 1 star review. read more

Parking: Easy, free lot. I was surprised by how much I actually liked True Food Kitchen. I think I had the assumption that it would be like Tender Greens or cafeteria-style. I came in for happy hour and ordered: -Edamame dumplings -Meatloaf sliders (x2) -Buffalo tenders -Buffalo cauliflower The edamame dumplings were more like ravioli in wonton skin. It was a super delicate dish--creamy and delicious. I only ordered one serving, which I think came with six dumplings for $8 during happy hour. The meatloaf sliders came in pairs and were topped with a delicious horseradish cream/mayo. I think I loved these the most because I loved the kick. A bit expensive for what it was ($10), but I ordered one plate, liked it so much, and got a second. The buffalo tenders ($8) and cauliflower were both really good, but nothing too extraordinary. We ordered two cups of the butternut squash soup. Very watery and luke warm. I'm guessing they didn't want to make anymore, even though we were there at 6:30pm. nowhere need closing. My husband ordered the American Burger, didn't say whether it was good or bad. I ordered the Chopped Salad with Chicken. The chicken was dry and chewy. Most likely cooked hours before. Then there was trying to find all the micro size cheese, dates and more. I asked for another dressing, just to try to make it easier to eat since it was so dry. My daughter ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl, which was a very small serving which our server had mentioned. The service was exceptional, the food very mediocre.
