Nothing. Absolutely nothing waiting for ever!!!

Rude and the service can't be any slower. Waited 15 mins at the window. Watch people doing DoorDash over the window. This SUCKS!!

I stopped by HEB yesterday and decided to give their BBQ a try. I picked up 1lb of fatty brisket and 1/2 rack of ribs. You have the choice of ordering brisket lean or fatty. Fatty usually has more flavor so I went with that. The brisket was good and flavorful. It wasn't the best brisket but better than some. Moist, tender but no smoke ring. I would give the brisket a C. The St. louis ribs were on another level. Absolutely delicious. The ribs were meaty and fall off the bone tender. Seasoned perfectly. The ribs were an A. It came with a small container of onions and pickles and you can fill small containers with BBQ sauce. Definitely worth it. Will probably not get the brisket again but will definitely be back for the ribs.

Convenient prepared barbecue located right inside of the giant HEB grocery store. It's a full-service restaurant easy to maneuver and get into with easy ordering via kiosk or at the window where the server is. The food is fresh, hot and ready quickly for you to eat.

For what it's worth, it was a great meal, and I loved the Texas BBQ vibes. The Poblano and Queso sausage was delicious. The lean brisket was tender, but it was just okay. I also enjoyed the sidewinder fries and brisket beans. I'll have to return to try their other sides because they didn't disappoint. The service was excellent, and the cashier was very friendly and made great recommendations. They have plenty of seating options and a few TVs for you to watch while you eat!

    Regular Chopped Brisket Sandwich

No Contact or help at front counter! When my order was called guy at counter did not acknowledge me and I got my food myself and then had to get his attention to get my drink cup. I paid for a 22 oz cup but was given a 16 oz cup. After getting fountain drink, BBQ sauce and napkins, I picked a table. I can honestly say I just don't understand how people think Texas BBQ is so great, I must be missing something. No flavor kind of bland. I purchased a chopped brisket sandwich and was very disappointed. Looked good but no taste. I have now tried several Texas BBQ places and just don't get it! Maybe just me because it's not the type of BBQ I am use to. Wasn't very busy maybe just a couple people maybe it's not just me, so to be honest I really can't recommend or not recommend, you will have to decide for yourself, however I can say the service was very bad.

We went on a Saturday evening for dinner & now that the initial HEB madness has slowed its roll, there was only a short line. That said, it does not move quickly here. We ordered the brisket nachos, Texas brisket cheesesteak, and the Texas torpedos. The main thing I want to say here is that you are not going to one of those old-school, smokey, line of patrons waiting to get to the guy with knife to place your order kinds of BBQ joints. Your expectations should be in line with where you are, right? For what they are - a grocery store BBQ restaurant - they do a good job. They will never be confused with some of the more famous Hill Country digs with dyed-in-the-wool pit masters. If the three items ordered, only the torpedos disappointed. The sausage exterior was rubbery. The cheesesteak was amazing. The use the tip, rather than the flat, and it worked perfectly with the rest of the ingredients. The brisket melted in our mouths. The only downside to this item is the board said it was a limited time item. Finally, the nachos were huge all well-proportioned. I believe they also have a drive thru, so if I need a quick BBQ fix, that could be the answer. In any case, it was better than places on a comparable tier, such as Dickey's

I'd put the his BBQ up against any other BBQ in Texas and it would win hands down! Went yesterday and it was so good that I brought the whole family with me today. The lean sliced biscuit was moist and full of flavor, plus it has a delicious sweet peppery charred crust. Love their BBQ sauce too. Thick enough to stick, with a sweet bold flavor. The people there who who work at the counter and in the kitchen are all very nice, so the service was great. The ambience is Texas country. Gotta love it. I am going to tell everyone about this place because it is fantastic!!!

Best BBQ in Texas? I think not. More like "slowest BBQ in Texas. It took 40 minutes for our food to come out. Never returning again.

The food was good, but a little overpriced. They had a good variety of sides. Fast service.

Barbecue 2 meat plate was expensive and small. The turkey was not good and the sausage was dry. Worst barbecue I've had in Texas.

After getting inside I could tell why. The BBQ smell hits you as you open the door and it smelled sooooo good. They had a giant menu written onto the wall. Some of the meats were sold out. We debated for a bit and then decided to do a group order. Our Group of 7 people ordered the Cattleleack Platter and sides of burnt end beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and Mac and cheese. Oh and don't forget to ask for cornbread too. Inside tey had large tables and benches to sit at and we secured our spot. The food was delicous. The Beef Rib was huge and melted in my mouth. The brisket was amazing and seasoned well. Everything tasted great. Everyone ate til they were full and we still had leftovers. I ate them later at night and they were still good. This place is pricey, definitely worth a visit.

The food was good, if not the greatest BBQ I've ever had, but the overall experience was much fun. The restaurant is in the form of a large barn with ample seating and a walk-through line where you can pick out your meat and then any sides and drinks you'd like. I enjoyed having the "conundrum" of trying to figure out which of the meats to try as they stare at you from the smoker, all saying, "Pick me!" My first visit to any BBQ place is nearly always to try the pulled pork, figuring that if they can't get that right, nothing else is likely all that good. That's not always true, but since pulled pork is one of my favorites, it's a good approach anyway. :) I took my platter laden with an abundant amount of pulled pork and then selected corn on the cob, cole slaw, a slice of custard pie, and a sweet tea. After paying, I made my way into the main dining area and selected a high-top wooden table along the wall that was, shall we say, very awkward to sit at based on how the stationary stool was positioned in conjunction with the table, so I moved to a nearby regular table that was just fine. There's plenty of outdoor seating, but based on the temperature that day, I chose to stay inside. Digging in, I found the pulled pork to be good, but it was a little dry and salty. The standard house BBQ sauce was good, though, and the corn on the cob was very nice. The cole slaw was about what you'd expect, and the custard pie was tasty, even if it wasn't the best I'd ever had. The sweet tea was excellent. What I probably loved most, though, was eating all this in that environment, with the Texas-American paraphernalia hanging on the walls and a radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s country music over the speakers--the years when I loved country the most. I wanted a BBQ experience as big as Texas while I was here, and I got that. For that reason, my visit to Hard Eight was a hit, and I will happily visit again on a future trip.

The high note for us were the ribeye steaks cooked to order, we love the lemon butter that the steak comes covered in. If you can wait in line, Hutchins is better, but this place is far from bad.
