America's Tire

America's Tire

(1k reviews)

America's Tire is a great family business that is trustworthy. We frequently choose this business…read morefor tires and appreciate the straightforward service and their sole focus on tires. It reminds me of other family run businesses like In and Out and Chick fil A where you're valued as a customer, the prices are always fair, and the quality & service stands out. First time at this Mountain View location for tire rotation and it was relatively quick as we had an appointment.

Earlier today, America's Tire even sent me an appointment reminder confirming that everything would be ready for my 8:00 AM appointment, including instructions on where to park when I arrived. That level of confidence would be fine if the store actually had the order ready. Instead, the night before my appointment, I received a call telling me that not all four tires were in stock. That is unacceptable. This was not a same-day walk-in. This was not a last-minute request. This was an order placed almost a full week in advance with a scheduled appointment. If inventory was not complete, that should have been identified and communicated well before the night before the appointment, not after I had already planned my Saturday morning around an 8:00 AM installation. The most frustrating part was the handling of the call. Luis was unable to provide a clear timeframe for when the fourth tire would be available and came across dismissive instead of solution-oriented. When a customer's appointment cannot be honored because the store failed to have the order ready, the bare minimum should be clear communication, ownership, and urgency. I had to escalate the issue to Robert, a senior manager, who was finally able to provide a more realistic update and estimated the tire would be available around 10:00 AM-ish. I appreciate Robert stepping in, but it should not take escalation to get basic accountability. The issue is not only the missing tire. The issue is the breakdown in process: America's Tire confirmed my order. America's Tire confirmed my appointment. America's Tire sent an appointment reminder saying everything would be ready. Then America's Tire called the night before to say the order was incomplete. That is a failure in inventory control, appointment management, and customer communication. If a business is going to ask customers to order ahead, schedule an appointment, and follow specific arrival instructions, then the business needs to honor that process. Otherwise, the appointment system is just theater. Very disappointing experience from a company that should know better.

Service, Quality, Value = 5…read more Been going to America's Tire for decades and my past 3 cars. Except for the few times I went to a warehouse store or dealership, America's Tire is my go to. For my most recent experience, it was time to change due to tire age & ensure had new tires for a long drive during the Christmas holiday storms. It was super easy to search, compare shop & check tire inventory that met my budget, driving specifications using their online portal. Equally easy to search & schedule an appointment that fit me among the various local sites. The automated tracking & reminder ensure I was not late as well as managed my expectation while waited for service. Check-in was easy, quick & personable. The joyful raucous and music playing in the service garage makes me believe the staff are enjoying their work. Ample waiting room space to kick back while waiting for service and completed service quicker than I expected that allowed me time to squeeze in a holiday manicure that I didn't think had time for. For lifetime of tires, includes rotation, inspection & patching.

My low tire pressure indicator came on while out and about so decided to stop by to have it…read morechecked. I waited about 25 minutes before someone came over to check the tire pressure. The waiting part isn't a big deal, it's the fact that there were a bunch of workers standing around socializing in the garage rather than working. A worker finally came up however didn't say a word just started checking the pressure. At the end, he told me the tires were fine but that was the extent of his update. Prior to his update, I did hear him and a coworker laugh and mock the other person that had been waiting to have their tire pressure checked. I have been to other locations where they send me a tire report to let me know how the health of my tires are doing and actually have good customer service skills. I have been a long time customer and have purchased tires from various locations. I can say that this location has been the worst one. To the manager of this location, please train your employees better and remind them about professionalism.
