The service is great and the food is excellent! The service was fast and the food hit the spot! I'd love to try their breakfast next time!

This is a basic no frills breakfast spot in South Charlotte. We came at 11 on a Sunday and the place was steadily full the entire time we were there. We were sat immediately and service was prompt. Our server was a super sweet woman wearing purple kitty ears. Food was good and prices were reasonable. It's a solid diner experience. Basic breakfast (2 eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or hash browns, toast or biscuit) for around $10-hard to find a meal at that price in Charlotte these days. Food came out pretty quickly, less than ten minutes. My meal was good but I did need to add some salt to my scrambled eggs. I was actually impressed at how clean the bathrooms are. For a mom and pop restaurant that has been around for years, the whole place feels very well kept up. Located in a strip mall with a decent sized parking lot.

If you like a typical diner style breakfast, this is it. We ordered for pick up and I will say, it would've probably been much better had we eaten there, but that's to be expected. Classic eggs and bacon and hash browns meal. The hash browns were tasty and greasy, just the way I like them. The pancake was not great, but again, eating it at the restaurant when it was fresh and warm would've made a big difference. We will try again!

We came to Tryon house, expecting a regular breakfast place....we got so much more!!! The restaurant outside is very low keys, inside the European flavor is everywhere...really well maintained and coordinated decor. The breakfast is awesome, classic americana. It is a must stop...

At the southern pecan, I could've had a whole sheet of their cornbread -- it was pleasantly delicious. Also of note: Our server was prompt and kind. The vibe inside was really cool too. The bread was hot and soft. The cheese was delicious as well. Will definitely order this again. For the mains, we went with the Chicken and Dumplings and the Southern Fried Steak. The Chicken and Dumplings were amazing as well. I always worry about the balance of chicken vs dumplings but this was very well balanced and delicious. The dumplings were cooked well and the chicken was very flavorful. The Southern Fried Steak was fantastic and well. No complaints about this dish either. Every component was well made and delicious. The only complaint I had was the service really went down hill after we got our meal. Our server didn't check on us until she delivered the bill which was disappointing because initially the service started out so well. The Southern Pecan is a good spot. Stop in and grab a bite.

There were several "reserved" tables that remained empty until after we had finished eating, so I think the restaurant could benefit from a better reservation system with more accurate buffer times to accommodate walk-in guests. To avoid the wait, we decided to sit at the bar, and I'm glad we did because the food was amazing. The fried chicken and waffles were perfectly seasoned, and the waffle had a unique texture and flavor that reminded me of a combination of a traditional waffle and a soft pretzel. The cheesy potato cake was absolutely delicious. The fruit bowl was also good, but I wish they had been a little more generous with the blueberry pudding. The shrimp and grits came with large tomatoes, which may not be for everyone, and my friend felt the dish was lacking grits overall. She didn't feel like she got her money's worth. Would I go back? Absolutely. My meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return and try more of their homemade, fresh dishes. I also think it's great that they partner with local farmers to help curate their menu.

We tried the branzino, pot roast, broccoli, potatoes and the dip for an appetizer! Everything was a 10/10 in did. However, our food took forever to come. You have until midnight on Tuesday to email them with your order. Pretty easy process, especially if you live close by. So far we've gotten dishes from their BBQ menu (brisket, bbq beans, cheese and mac) and their Greek menu (moussaka with side Greek salad, gyro with fries). Everything is restaurant quality. Let me rephrase: everything is excellent restaurant quality! Like what I would expect if I went to a BBQ joint or Greek spot that specialize in that type of cuisine. Pretty incredible. We originally found out about HA's from a neighbor, and I added this business page to Yelp to be able to share my photos and experiences to help spread the word about this awesome local spot!

My husband and I were seated near a table that spent almost the entire evening talking down to one of the servers -- the taller guy with the tattoos down his left arm. At one point I genuinely felt embarrassed for the people at that table because of how rude and entitled they were acting in public.
