This has been my favorite local sushi place for years now. The spicy tuna is my favorite. So many delicious rolls with fresh fish. I usually get takeout but dine-in is also fun. Great service, great ambiance. Michelle is terrific. Daniel too. They always accommodate my preferences...light rice, no crunch. So far...I love the Triple Tuna, Crazy Tuna, Angry Dragon, Bullet, Pikachu and spicy tuna rolls. Patio seating (outside is dog-friendly) with inside bar, clean bathrooms and plenty of parking.

John and I play the what do you want to eat for dinner game a lot when we vacation- I jokingly mentioned Japanese Steakhouse and John jumped. The search was on for a place close to our hotel and with good reviews, especially recent reviews and I found Tsunami. I am very happy we dined here. John and I were able to split a steak and shrimp habachi plate and it was so much food! They plated it split for us- something I appreciate when restaurants do. Everything was delicious, the dining room was beautiful too. But our server was the best! Fast, wonderful service. I highly recommend if you are looking for a dinner spot.

Great food, hibachi and service. Waitress was very attentive to my needs. Very good flavors

It was still very fresh when it was delivered to my home. It was very delicious and satisfying. Next time I will bring my family and friends to try dining in.

We were in the mood for sushi so we decided to visit this location as they have a nice menu variety and never a wait to be seated. Everything was great from the rolls to the pad Thai that we ordered! The waitress was friendly, everything came in a timely manner, and overall we were happy. The only complaint I would give is the children's chicken strip meal was one chicken strip cut into several bite size pieces on a big bed of fries. It wasn't much protein and I'm not sure how that would be filling for any child over the age of two.

Sushi was fresh and very good and the service was excellent. When I sat down at the sushi bar, I was given a free appetizer.

Oy. This place was bad. I had to walk to the bar to refill my water, the food took 2 hours and the wasabi was brown.

I wanted a little bit of everything and that's what I got! I ordered crab wontons, the good time roll, and a chicken dinner bowl. My family ordered a cucumber roll with cream cheese, a dinner plate with shrimp (habachi style ), and a dinner plate with chicken (teriyaki style). The crab wontons were great! They were filled and a little sweet. It also came with a lot! The sushi roll I had wasn't my favorite but the chicken dinner bowl was YUMMMMY. So so tasty. I used a little "yum yum" that they provided and it was good but truly not needed. My family loved everything they ordered. I believe one also had a salad and said it was good just the dressing was not very gingery which they enjoyed. I definitely will Be back! I want to try some other rolls to get a solid opinion on the sushi , otherwise the dinner bowl was so tasty I could just eat that every time.

The hibachi steak with fried rice and veggies is a huge portion that I can get 2 or 3 meals out of! And it reheats so well! It's my favorite item so far. The hibachi chicken didn't have a ton of flavor, but the chicken pieces were moist and plentiful. I also wish their yum yum sauce had a little more of a spice flare, but that's just my preference. It's super easy to call and place an order over the phone. They are always very nice and super fast!! I've never actually dined in, but it's always crowded when I go in and they have plenty of tables for bigger parties. The sushi platters look beautiful and I'll definitely have to try them soon!

The broth was impossibly milky and deeply flavorful -- the kind that stops you mid-bite. The ambiance and service were a complete and welcome surprise. We were visiting Charleston from St. Pete, and having traveled to many countries around the world, I rarely feel compelled to write reviews. But this place moved me. They could easily hold their own as a full-service, five-star ramen restaurant on every level -- price, value, quantity, and the overall experience. The whole nine yards. Highly recommend.

Strangely, mine was brought to me packaged for takeout; I don't know why their in-house ordering would default to that but maybe I hit a wrong button? Maybe some room for process improvement there, but they didn't give me any trouble about transitioning to a dine-in bowl. Their vegetable ramen is promised with a citrus note and there were discernible little bits of yuzu in it. The tofu it comes with is marinated in something sweeter, which wasn't my favorite flavor combination but is typical to the cuisine. I found the flavor improved with tableside spices; they have both a black pepper mix and a house chili powder. The portion size was not huge, and even adding extra inari on the side just satisfied my cravings, and this was after I'd had breakfast. There were some Japanese-speaking people dining there who seemed to be slurping approvingly. I could imagine having had a better experience, but the quality of broth and noodles was worth coming for me.

I appreciated how they filled their spicy tuna rolls with chunky pieces of fish instead of the usual ground tuna used in other sushi restaurants. Their offerings and methods of preparation, paired with their higher price point, suggests they are a higher end establishment. However, the atmosphere was undoubtedly on the casual side, and their service, although friendly and knowledgeable, exuded a lack of experience and the same attention to detail that they put into their food. This was especially apparent after coming from eating at other restaurants in a similar price bracket, where you can sense the waitstaff had a lot of pride and passion for their craft, and it didn't feel like it was just a job for them. In contrast, our experience at Shiki felt far more transactional, and lacked that "customer obsession" and genuine warmth. That said, it's difficult to judge a restaurant's culture just from a single night, and maybe other customers had a different experience from us. Ultimately, if good sushi is your priority and you are willing to splurge a bit, Shiki meets and even exceeds that bar.

They exist, but some of the best are so unassuming you can walk right past them. Shiki is exactly that kind of place--a small, warm, inviting restaurant tucked into a strip mall that feels like a neighborhood secret. Loc, our waiter, greeted us as soon as we sat down with water, a friendly welcome, and a helpful walk-through of the menu. We started with wine and sake--always a promising beginning. The first course was seaweed salad with baby octopus, and I could have happily sipped that dressing like a cocktail. Light, bright, perfectly balanced, with tender octopus that added just the right bite. From there we decided to sample our way through the menu and ordered a lineup of rolls: Spicy Yellowtail, Spicy Shiromi, Rainbow, Spider, Lemon Salmon, and Eel. Each one seemed better than the last. The Spicy Shiromi was the clear standout--absolutely spectacular. What really sets Shiki apart is that every roll has its own distinct flavor instead of the one-note sameness you find at so many sushi spots. You can tell real care goes into the preparation. If you're searching for fresh, thoughtful, genuinely delicious sushi, don't overlook this little gem. Shiki is the real deal.
