Ordering here was super quick and easy thanks to the self-service tablet. The staff was also incredibly helpful and efficient, especially when resolving a small issue: the My Man Go dessert, the one I was most excited for, was unavailable on the tablet despite a full tray being in front of us. They quickly smoothed that out and managed to get our very large order out within minutes. My group of ten was able to secure seating inside to enjoy our feast. We practically ordered the entire dessert menu for a total of $140. While it's definitely pricey, their impressive marketing really worked on me, and I was eager to try everything as I have been anticipating for MONTHs now. I ordered the infamous mango dessert and boy was I disappointed. I don't know if I just got a bad batch but I love mangoes. They're very delicious and they're naturally sweet. I felt like it had a bitter filling in the middle. But let me tell you that little tree was the bomb. It was so good. It was complex. It had a very nutty hazelnut as well as a creamy kind of toffee flavor. The ice cream I feel was OK to me. I feel like they had the size correct with the little blackberry one it is bite-sized when you try to eat the banana or the strawberry sometimes they're too big and it's kind of falling all over the place. I was disappointed that I couldn't get more desserts. Came on a Saturday night and they were sold out of a lot of their specialty fruit desserts. The line wasn't too bad, and there are two kiosks to order at. Parking is hard to find, but there is a sign at the front door that tells you where you can park for free. - triple berry: 7.8/10. They are quite underwhelming considering the hype around the desserts. They are very tasty, but not worth $15 in my opinion. I wish there was more of the filling in the middle. We have been wanting to try this place that we found on tiktok, so our expectations were pretty high. We wanted the mango and peach, but unfortunately the peach was sold out when we came around 3pm on a Friday. You can order with their cashier or kiosk, which is what we used. The mango was delicious! It tastes like a really ripe mango fruit with a crunchy shell around it. The raspberry also had a crunchy shell, but the inside wasn't as spectacular until you reach the pistachio filling. We also bought their toasted genmaicha milk tea with boba at half sweetness. The toasty tea flavor was robust, but the boba was bland and on the harder side. The effort that is put into the desserts is really commendable, and service was friendly and quick. The restroom was clean and there were about five tables to sit at. Parking lot is on a grassy lot half a block away from the storefront (you can search for Tu Cha Free Parking on Maps). My first visit to Tu Cha was in May this year to try their summer specials which consist of the "Just Peachy" and, more notably, the "Devil Fruit," inspired by One Piece. The surrounding area is not the nicest, but the inside of this dessert shop is modern, sleek, and a stark contrast to the urban graffiti and chain link fences outside. A handful of items such as the Berry 3 had sold out by 7pm on a Wednesday night, but luckily the Devil Fruit was still available. To be honest, the Devil Fruit was good, but probably the least exciting out of what we tried. A blackberry center with tangy blackcurrant mousse and a white chocolate shell. Still yummy, kinda yogurt-esque. The most interesting aspect about this dessert was its visual appeal. This was still an enjoyable dessert, but I just thought the other two I tried were better. The Just Peachy was my favorite. I was surprised by the strong Earl Grey flavor. I thought it was delicious and paired very well with the sweet outer shell. I do think the tea was overpowering any peach flavor. I didn't really get much peach and wish there was more peach filling. The My Man Go I think is one of their more popular desserts. I remember seeing a TikTok where Catherine said they started making more of it to meet demand. I definitely get it. The mango tastes very ripe, especially since we're coming into mango season. The hazelnut praline kinda took me by surprise, adding an almost savory element. I had to take a moment to process and warm up to it before deciding that I liked it. I am unsure of how others would perceive it... but I guess since it's a best seller people like it. I returned at the end of summer to give Tu Cha another try. This time, we got the Berry3, Citron, Camellia Milk Tea, and Four Seasons Oolong Milk Tea. I can see why the Berry3 was sold out the first time - it's very good. Visually, it's stunning and vibrant. The inside mousse is raspberry with a pistachio praline adding a savory element that I've gotten used to in Ms. Zhang's desserts. My new favorite, however, became the Citron. The passionfruit center surprised me and went well with the cheesy inside. I think Catherine Zhang is very creative and her desserts are interesting and delicious. I would definitely come back to try other creations and the boba. The parking situation makes me a bit apprehensive to return. There was a sign that said "free parking 2 minute walk away!" that was definitely illegible from a driver's perspective on the street, but even after I read it, I had no idea where the parking lot was. I will say, the texture was better than I expected of a white chocolate coating with a mousse-like interior. They aren't too sweet (the best compliment ever) and they're fun to look at. TuCha was founded by a group of Hong Kong natives who also partnered with Catherine Zhang, the renowned winner of Zumbo's Just Desserts Season 2. TuCha is all the buzz right now with the viral fruit pastries taking over social media. We were just lucky enough to be in town to check this out. But it was actually my girls that wanted to stop by here to check it out. Ha. They are totally my kids. We drove 1 hour from Redondo Beach to Downtown LA. Yikes! Parking was not fun and we drove around for like 10 minutes looking for metered street parking. We got lucky and snagged a parking spot directly across the street. Of course as we were walking in, they had a sign outside that said "Free Parking" and gives you the location down the street. Oh well. The space here is very minimalist and modern. They sell the beautiful fruit pastries and drinks. We got the Just Peachy, Citron and Berry3. At about $13-14.50 for each pastry, it's pricey!!! We were incredibly sad the Mango was sold out as that was our first choice. We ordered at the kiosk and the staff packs it up and calls our order when it's ready. There really wasn't much service as that was all they really did. Out of all the pastries we spent at a whopping $41 for 3 pastries, the only one that was worth the hour drive and money is the Citron! The passionfruit and lemon yuzu flavors really shined with the light cheesecake texture. We really wanted to like the other ones but were not fans at all. We all agreed. The Just Peachy and Berry3 had this mousse texture that was off, just did not like how it tasted or the feeling of it in our mouth. I also did not love the Earl Grey flavor in the peach. The jelly centers were not great either. Sorry but that's the honest truth. I think if the Peach and Berry had the same light cheesecake texture vs the mousse, it may be better. I kind of wished I ordered a drink because I noticed after we left that they had some unique matcha flavors and would have loved to try the Orange Americano. My daughter also mentioned TuCha is a competitor to Aurora which is another local bakery that offers similar desserts and all over social media too. If you visit TuCha, get the Citron. Beautiful beautiful desserts but IMO very overpriced and overhyped - we got the bing chilling fruit ice cream and the mango "cake" and the total came out to $40 including tax....yikes. I understand there's a lot of work that goes into making these desserts but they are so so small for the price. The bing chilling fruit ice cream was great - the texture of the chocolate and the ice cream together was wonderful. We waited 10-15 min before eating it and that was definitely a mistake towards the end - they started getting super goopy and runny. The outside has a strong piss smelling odor, parking is tough, and we ended up leaving our car in a plaza about a 10 minute walk away (the Lee Ga plaza). The desserts here were absolutely incredible. I had low expectations coming in, but man they were definitely exceeded. My friends and I tried to gamut of different desserts. We got the peach, devil, fruit, mango raspberry, and Matcha. The Matcha mouse was by far my favorite. The Filo dough that was present at the bottom was incredible, Rich, perfectly sweet, and an amazing counterpoint of crunch to balance out the soft fluffy mousse. 5/5 The peach and raspberry were both amazing, but I was especially impressed by the artistry on the peach. The sheeting, the color, and then the delicious, gelatinous Center with bits of fresh fruit was just amazing. As far as flavor goes, the mango is my next favorite, the raspberry, and then the devil fruit last. Nonetheless, you can taste the fresh fruit flavor that is gone into each of these. They're not overly sweet, perfect for an Asian palate. Yes, all the desserts are expensive but there is a lot of effort and work that I appreciated when I ate these desserts. The only downside is that because of the popularity, seating could definitely be challenging. We got lucky because we were able to grab a table, but I could see how not having enough space could definitely be a challenge for patrons who want to eat their orders in the shop. Finally tried tucha after it's been trending and blowing up on my for you page and because of all the mind blowing reviews trying it was very underwhelming. They are all well made and crafted fruit cakes but I wouldn't order multiple and maybe just 1 of your favorite fruits since I felt they were very one dimensional. They all have similar textures, structures, and flavors however I can appreciate the more Asian inspired flavors and techniques in these cakes. The mango cake reminded me of a mango pudding from honestly any Chinese dim sum establishment. The fan favorite of the 3 was the berry cake since it had a complimenting flavor of pistachio with the strawberry so it wasn't as one dimensional. I loved the fresh mango filling inside the mango cake probably my favorite filling of the 3. The peach was very floral more than peachy which I didn't like since I don't prefer floral flavors. I was curious what the hype was all about. The first time my friend and I went, there was no street parking. I saw someone's Yelp review saying there was a free parking lot, but my friend and I struggled to find it. After circling around a few times, we finally saw the banner high up above the metal fence of a gravely parking lot moving with the wind. It looks like an abandoned lot. No clear markings of each parking space. It is like a 5-minute walk from the lot to the store. I've tried the berry3, my man go, Dubai matcha dream cake, Dubai chocolate dream cake, just peachy, devil fruit, and bing chillin' bites. At least the few times I went in the first half of 2025, they were usually out of something if not most things by late afternoon. The seasonal devil fruit was my favorite. I also enjoyed the Dubai dream cakes; they were not too sweet. My least favorite was the mango. The filling was so runny be prepared for a liquid mess. Bing chillin' bites were tasty, but I wouldn't pay $23 again for it. Overall, pretty desserts, but the flavors don't justify the prices and waiting in line imo. read more

The dessert here is so beautiful and delicious! My favorite out of the lemon and berry one was the lemon. I liked that there were hints of passionfruit and citrus in the filling and I enjoyed the cheesecake mousse texture a bit more than the berry one since it was more creamy. The berry was also good though and I thought the pistachio and almond filling was interesting. The desserts are also made in the fridge up front so after ordering, you get them pretty fast. They also last a good amount of time out since I walked around for a couple hours with them. The reason I'm giving 4 stars would be that I also got a hazelnut latte and it was way too sweet. It tasted more like a milk tea than a coffee/latte. There's not many tables inside to sit at but people come and go so you can probably find/wait for a table after ordering. Very very cool and beautiful but I can see why some people say that it is overhyped. It's trendy and viral and very instagrammable but not mind blowing nor worth the price tag. Absolutely agree with those that say the pistachio matcha cake is the best thing here. It was so good!!! And fun to eat. I shared with a couple friends and one who doesn't like sweets absolutely loved it and kept going back for more bites. I found the citron to be too tart. It's not bad tasting but too sour for me. If you like tart then you should enjoy it. The devil fruit was cool and yummy. The bing chillin bites were over $22 for a tiny little pint of baby ice cream filled fruit. Very tasty though. We only tried the citron in the shop and the rest I tried after an hour drive home (they sell ice packs if you need and they provide cold bags without charge so plan accordingly). Yikes D: I've been seeing this place all over my social media and found the time to visit this past weekend with my sister and a friend. We decided we wanted to try quite a bit so we ordered: Bing Chilling, My Man Go, Dubai Pistachio, Berry3, and Devil Fruit.. all of this for $100. I will just state as an overall: yeah they're pretty, but let's talk about taste! Bing Chilling: their newest addition I think, and it's fruit-flavored ice cream covered in white chocolate. Honestly, not bad! The fruit flavor was lightly there and it was probably the best out of everything we ordered. Not sure about the pricing. My Man Go: Very gooey inside that was oozing out. I appreciated the ripe mango inside, but I was really confused about the hazelnut placed in the middle since it didn't really match the palette. My sister initially thought it was mango that had gone bad. Dubai Pistachio: I get the idea - I really do. But it felt like the matcha powder clogged our esophagus the moment it went into our mouths. It was also lukewarm so it just was not meshing properly. (We had the leftover a day later after it had been in the fridge, and this helped it taste better!) I think this one definitely has potential! Berry3: HmMMM the mousse texture + warm/room temp made it an interesting combination. We didn't enjoy this one. It had what I believed to be a colored white chocolate shell, a bouncy mouse-like filling and a jammy center on top of a biscuit/crust. You can see the desserts packaged and in the display right beside them. The only two options left at 8pm on a Friday were the citron and the Cherry Different. The staff pretty much called out our name and handed us the dessert right away from the display. Now, for the dessert: I tried the Cherry Different. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but given how cute the dessert is, I expected a bit more. The dark chocolate shell wasn't flavorful/tasty or texturally pleasant, outside of the initial thin, crispy bite. It didn't really melt smoothly, so the mouthfeel just wasn't great. The mousse was light but lacked flavor. The cherry filling did taste like cherry and made it a bit better, but the chocolate cake layer was dry, crumbly, and lacking in presence (flavor and ratio-wise). It felt and tasted like it had been made in advance, so it didn't seem fresh and worth the cost. Side note: there's one unisex bathroom that is kind of the first thing you see when you walk in and is also right next to all of the seating. While the lock seemed to work, the occupied (red) and unoccupied (green) markings just seemed to stay on red, even when unoccupied. So we waited outside of the cafe and watched the workers come in and out of the cafe. They were in the zone and I was really impressed how they maneuvered through with all of the supplies in their hands. We even got to see the owner in action. (She's so pretty) We got inside and the cafe was so small and cute! Like it was so pretty. They had 2 kiosks to order from and the cashier. I got all 6 desserts, and 4 drinks. Each dessert except the matcha cake were $14. Matcha cake was $22. I had a hazelnut latte. It was delicious. The desserts were pretty good. I really liked the Berry3. I honestly enjoyed these desserts with my guests. My mom was very satisfied and loved the Citron. Definitely skip the Dubai Cake. It's not it. It's overpowering and less dessert than anything. Bathroom was un stocked and dirty :( the parking wasn't so bad. The seating was perfect. I enjoyed the service of the staff. Super sweet and quick too. I've seen Tu Cha all over social media, so I was excited to try it, but honestly, it was a little disappointing especially for the price. The cakes are super cute for photos, but they don't taste that good. Service, however is super fast and they're really friendly. Tried the lemon one, which has a passion fruit filling, but it immediately dripped everywhere and was super messy. If you're going for the aesthetic, it's cute for pics, but if you're looking for good dessert, it's pretty overhyped. read more

I hate it when food vloggers highly recommend something, only to be disappointed afterwards, wasting my time and money. Or when they hype it up and again, you're left underwhelmed. BUT... this did NOT happen at Tu Cha. I've been following Catherine since...IDEK. Her desserts are always so easy to follow. So when I found out she opened up a DESSERT cafe in my home State, well, OF COURSE, it's going to be on my itinerary when I am in town. Note: I don't like driving in L.A. traffic. It is the worst having grown up here, it's just no fun. BUT... if it's WORTH the drive, I will do it over and over again. Was it worth the drive?! 100% Parking is further down toward Hoover St in this green covered fenced.... YARD parking lot labeled "Tu Cha Free Parking." After you park, turn left onto 7th St. It's a short walk to the cafe. We walk in and it's quite busy that we didn't know if we were going to be able to enjoy our desserts inside. After we placed our order at the self service kiosk, we found that most people were taking out and a table happen to open up, perfect! When I left the house, DD wanted to try the strawberry cube dessert (Berry3) and I had my heart set on the Mango . Upon ordering, the mango was sold out . We looked over the other desserts and the Citron was calling my name. Drinks were a must as well as I was sold on "Coconut Foam." I got the latte and DD got the Matcha Latte. The desserts came out by the time we sat. We immediately unboxed, took pics and delved right in with the Berry 1st since Citron was more tart. Love the strawberry chocolate shell. Filling was nice and not too sweet. Good flavor. The pistachio ball was flavorful and a great combo with the other ingredients. I just wished the pistachio ball didn't separate from the rest of the dessert, making it more cohesive in one scooped bite KWIM? Overall, delicious still. 4/5 Next was the Citron. The moment we cracked the shell, and filling flowed out like a dim sum lava bun, I just KNEW that this dessert was going to hit every mark for me. Indeed, it most definitely did. From the perfectly balanced flavors of yuzu and passion fruit to the cheesecake and crust. OH. M. GEE. I mean, I knew to achieve the combo of these flavors perfectly without being overly sweet or overly tart (with tending to happen in most lemony citrusy tarty desserts), there had to have been so many trial and errors to GET IT RIGHT. Like DAMN! The last time I remember having a dessert this refined, down to a science, was....hmmm... probably at the French Laundry or Per Se. When I say I will CRAVE this dessert from 400 miles away back home, I will have dreams about it, it was THAT good. To think, it was my Plan B when mango was sold out. 5/5 M'Kay. Onto the drinks. I mean, let's be honest, most boba tea places are like run of the mill for me in So Cal especially in SGG, where I generally frequent. But this changed my limits to venture out more toward the west side when I am in town. Coconut Foam wasn't just any Coconut Foam. Like the flavors teleported me back to South East Asia. The coconut flavor tasted like it came straight from a fresh cracked coconut and the juices were extracted to make the foam. That is the only way I can describe my 1st sip. I wished I ordered a larger size. Ugh. The latte part of the drink was bold, nicely sweetened with good coffee espresso flavor. 5/5 DD enjoyed her matcha. She liked the coconut foam. Her boba was tender. It was a bit on the mushy side for me. 4/5 I would not shut up about my whole experience walking back to the car and during the whole time we were driving to Grove. I cannot wait to come back and try the Mango next time. Probably should come early or preorder on my way to the café again. So happen Tu Cha exists! read more

Parking lot is about 1-2 blocks away from the store. Entrance is a little shady and the parking lot itself looks like a not developed empty dirt lot. It took about 30 minutes from line up to receiving the order. One thing that bothered me was that sold out items were still shown as available at the order kiosk, so I was forced to choose from what they still had available during pick up. The citron and mango cake were both aesthetically pleasing and photogenic. However, I was a little disappointed how it tastes. It wasn't too sweet but it wasn't anything deliciously memorable. Perhaps I was expecting a little more given its price tag. Overall, I'm still willing to return to try out other non-fruit theme cakes. If you are into cute looking desserts and are not too picky with how it tastes, then it's worth giving Tu Cha a chance. read more

I finally caved and tried these fruit ice cream bites after being relentlessly targeted by TikTok like the weak-willed person I am. Let me start with the good: they do taste good. The fruit flavor is legit, the texture is fun, and you can tell there's real effort and craftsmanship involved. No notes on quality. But. $25?! For this amount? I understand there's labor involved, and I respect the hustle, but at the end of the day I'm eating a handful of frozen fruit bites, not adopting a child. They're a fun treat, and I don't regret trying them once, but this is very much a "cute splurge for the experience" and not an "I'll be buying these regularly" situation. We were super excited to see if these desserts would live up to the hype and unfortunately it was a fail. The best thing was the ice cream bites that came in the cup; although I was hesitant to buy it for over $20 a cup. Turned out to be the best bang for the buck. We tried 3 more very small cakes and walked out spending a little less than $80...definitely not a cheap dessert place. The cakes have a mushy consistency filling and flavor wasn't all there. The chocolate pinecone was our favorite but still not worth the $15 we paid for such a tiny bite. I wouldn't recommend it, you can go to H mart grocery store and buy their ice cream desserts and cakes for a fraction of the cost and will taste the same if not better.
