I ordered the veggie burrito with a side of sour cream. They gave us chips and two types of salsa; both were spicy. I did not realize I had to pay extra for cheese or I would have done so. As it was, the burrito, although it had plenty of veggies, lacked flavor. My husband had the tacos dorados and he enjoyed it, though it was spicier than he would have liked. We brought back a to-go order of chicken fajitas for my daughter, and she loved it. If you enjoy spicy Mexican food, this is a great choice! read more

I have known about this place for years and I had never tried it until the other day. The restaurant is small and clean, with a few tables inside. The young woman who helped me was so sweet and friendly. And the food turned out to be really good. We did the nachos with extra cheese. We always ask for extra cheese on the nachos and nearly every place does not add extra. But, Tu Mero Mole did not disappoint. The chips were nice and fresh and they were loaded with cheese. I have actually never had mole so I wanted to try that. We asked if we could do cheese enchiladas with the mole sauce and they were very accommodating and said they would do that. The mole sauce was thick and flavorful. It has a slight sweetness to it, which would usually not be something I would like, but this was so flavorful and good. I will definitely be going back to try more of their food. I'm just sad I never went before. read more

Was craving a hearty soup and I remember such good things about this place years ago when I was still in a high school. Decided to give it a try, and wow I'm glad I did! The pozole was soooooo packed with ingredients. Especially the chunks of chicken!!! We also got the chicken quesadilla, and we loved the grilled flavor of the chicken. I go there to satisfy my mole cravings. I'm a vegetarian and the chef is very helpful in accommodating my requirements. I usually order cheese enchiladas with mole and side of black beans and cilantro rice. Cilantro rice is vegetarian. The mole sauce is very tasty and has a kick of cinnamon. Still my favorite go to place for burritos. Service is speedy and professional (and friendly!!) and the food is fresh and delicious. Hubby and I get two burritos. We love the carne asada and I wanted something different and have been doing the shrimp burrito lately. Anyway, we cut them in half and eat half for lunch and half for dinner (or the next day's lunch) I've been trying other places and my biggest complaint is you don't see the meat (or shrimp) when you cut it in half. I haven't found many that do a well filled burrito. That's why I keep going back to Tu Mero Mole. Plus, they put in chips when I do takeout. Other places don't. And charge more. We were bowling yesterday and wanted to give this place a try. I called and placed an order for 4 burritos for pickup. The woman that took my order was brief and a little short w/ me on the phone. We were quoted it'd be ready to pick up in 10 min. Gavin and I walked over and waited over 5 min. in line to be tended to. There was one cook in the back and one staff running the front. There were only 2 tables occupied (they have their food), and two waiting for their order. The gentleman that took care of the front did not speak English. He did not understand what I was telling him, a patron walked up to help me. Seems to me that my order was not taken. He glanced over his receipts, but it was apparent no order was placed. Hate to post anything negative on THIS place as their pozole is THE BOMB! But we had so much soup during the flu, that we ordered otherwise. My wife wanted Chile Verde and they were out, so she opted to an enchilada. She didn't notice the alternatives (of enchiladas) and opted for the Mole which was too much for her, probably a "preference thing", but wish the cashier would have offered up the alternative enchiladas. Now for the fish taco, that was the problem. It seemed to have been deep fried, but tasted "steamed" when it got to my place. No salsa offered (I had to request) and nothing much but cabbage with it, so VERY disappointed. NOTE: We go here regularly and everything has always been the best, even orders other than pozole, so I was kind of stunned at these tacos. I find it hard to find good burritos that are not from a food truck (not sure if it's the stove that helps make a difference), but I love how they cook the burrito meat here! COVID-19 visit. The cashier and both cooks are wearing masks. Hand sanitizer is available on the counter. If you call to place an order, you still have to pay in site, use their Credi card machine and pen to sign, so not completely no touch pickup. The Sunnyvale location was actually sold since Jan, so this is their only other location. It's a small shop, quite narrow with seatings, only about 6 tables if they open. Slightly wrong in the ordering as I want double rice and no beans for my mole but it came with bean and rice. But the mole is rich in flavor and I could taste the chocolaty in it. Good portions also! Carnes Asada is delicious and the order came correct with double rice. Juicy onion and piping hot tortillas. The guacamole was in darkened green but tasted good. I am glad I got the Mexican rice fixings but the beef was slightly dry. The taco of al pastor and carnitas are good! Good flavors. Their Jamaica juice is also excellent with real fresh fruit meat inside. Overall a satisfying tasty dinner! read more

I got a cheese quesadilla from here which came with a little guac and cream. It was below average sadly since I was really craving a good quesadilla after having an awesome one the day before in Watsonville. The guac was a little dark and overall it was fairly underwhelming. Probably one of my more favouriter places to eat. However, it is with torn Heart Strings that this is now the only standing location. The other one, which was much more central to everything important and more importantly, my work, has been permanently closed. I couldn't believe my eyeballz when I looked into the Google Machina and found that it was no longer serving the good and fat people of the South Bay. First time, I ordered the mole and cochinita . Second time I order the gorditos and al pastor taco and third time I ordered the pollo asado. The cashier is friendly. The prices are reasonable. They give a bag of chips and three salsa (tomatillo, peanut, and roja) in a container after you place the order. The food is brought to the table. Al pastor tacos - the meat to tortilla ratio is appropriate. The al pastor was flavorful and had a char. The plate came with three tacos and beans. Cochinita Yucateca- The cochinita was a flavor bomb and served with pickled onions, rice, beans and tortilla. The meat melted in the mouth. The cochinita paired well with rice and tortilla. Gorditos Chorizo - was a star appetizer. The masa was filled with delicious chorizo, pico de gallo, and queso. The portion was adequate. Mole de Pubelo- the mole was flavorful and the peanut, chocolate, and other spices were pronounced in the dish. The chicken was nicely coated in the sauce and paired well with rice rather than tortilla Pollo Asado Maya - the chicken was cooked in a flavor rich tomato sauce and served with rice, beans, and tortilla. The grilled chicken didn't get lost in the sauce. I could eat here everyday because of their service and flavor. They play energetic music which brightens the space. Aargh! Is there new ownership here? Who messed up my most favorite Mexican place????? The shrimp tacos used to be unsurpassed and my regular jam here. I was so disappointed the last few times I ordered these - there are a measly 2-3 shrimp pieces in the taco and a whole lot of potatoes in it!! Whaaat? Why mess with perfection? The upped the price which I wholeheartedly support, but there's simply no excuse for nickel and diming customers by stuffing fillers into the taco and ruining it. The time before they picked chicken instead of shrimp in my takeaway order of shrimp tacos and I thought it was a mistake but now I'm not so sure.
