Vegan and veggie lovers can rejoin without missing out. The chilaquiles here have never failed us nor has the very attentive staff. Great location within Sam Hughes neighborhood. Parking is limited but there is street parking nearby a short walk away. The flavors are savory and meld together well. The jackfruit in our dish had all the flavors of the real deal and the tortilla chips remained crispy which I swear is some kind of secret. Beautiful wall paintings on the inside. I would definitely recommend to anyone. read more

Wow! Everything was delicious and I didn't miss having meat at all. The food is fresh, well prepared, and delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is friendly and the food comes out lightning quick. If you dine in, they have a small area for kids to play with toys. Brought my vegetarian friend here while she was visiting from California. We both enjoyed our meals, but would try other items on the menu next time. Service was quick & friendly. It's a casual place with plenty of seating. It's a "walk up and order then take your seat" kind of place. Don't be dissuaded by the vegan/vegetarian labels, as an omnivore this was one of the best Mexican meals I've had in town. Simple counter-service atmosphere, with about 9-10 dining tables and cool art on the walls, a daily menu plus regulars, and a good variety of coffees, teas, and juices. I ordered the tamales because that's what I order if it's on the menu. The tamale was a perfect sweet and savory ratio, always appreciate the green olives, and it had a bit of heat from the jalapeños. I like that they serve "all powers", so you get rice and beans, both delicious, AND a side of greens. I was surprised they were raw/cold at first but they actually paired really well with everything. Pico, guac, and I think pickled onions also accompanied. Definitely a fresh, unique, and healthy-feeling meal. I also should've ordered chips and more of the guacamole as well. The cashier was super friendly, greeting regulars with a "welcome back" and going over the menu and restaurant concept for first-timers like myself. The service was attentive and also very friendly. Very surprised this is my first time coming here but I will definitely be back to try more. read more

I drove an hour from Eloy to get some good vegan food after having mediocre food options for a few days while visiting from out of town. The place was packed, with a line out the door the whole time I was there. The reviews definitely reflected the passion for food that this place has. I have found that healthy food options are less frequent in AZ than what I am used to in CO, so I was grateful to see kombucha being sold, along with fresh juices. I got both. I also decided to get two meals, one for now and another for later. Ropa Vieja Plate - 10/10 - amazing! The jackfruit was succulent, mixed with poblanos and mushrooms, was coated in lots of sauce, boasting lots of flavors! I finished the whole meal and enjoyed every bite. Tamale Plate - 8/10. Now... mind you, I took this home and reheated it later. So that could 100% have an impact on the food. I found the tamales to be quite dry, with lots of starchy veggies inside. There was good heat and good flavor, but difficult to eat because there wasn't much moisture or sauce in them (and I made sure not to over-heat them, and covered them to retain moisture when reheating). I found that the olives were a little weird with the taste in general - doesn't seem to fit in with this type of cuisine (but what do I know?). Unfortunately, not the best tamales I have had, but I cannot tell you if that's the same experience when they're fresh. Overall, the service was super fast. Portions were enormous. The healthy options were so welcoming. I enjoyed all my food and I could feel the care that was put into making it. The place is packed, so take your meal to go. There's a park 1 minute's drive away from the restaurant where you can eat outside and get some fresh air. That's what I did. Definitely recommend it, whether you're vegan or not! Cannot say enough about Tunerico and La Chateria!! I love going there and if it was closer I'd live there! I do not know what they do to make their salad so damn good!! The food was delicious. This was my first vegan meal, and the entire dinner was delicious. To my surprise, the Cuban tacos tasted like they had pork in them. When I ordered it, the person at the counter asked me if I wanted cheese or jackfruit. I told her I didn't want any jackfruit, so cheese was good with cheese. She then told me that the Cuban tacos were made with jackfruit and were not meat. At first, I was going to cancel (as I like meat) but decided to go with it. The tacos were fantastic, and the rice and beans were also delicious. I would definitely go back if I'm ever in the area. read more

Love the flavors at this spot, and that I can get gf food and share a meal with vegan friends. But the first several times I ate here, I was hungry a hour later, even though the meal was quite caloric. Well, today I found the trick. I got the chilaquiles brunch, which was flavorful with great texture. But it a real winner since it had eggs on top. Sure enough, I wasn't hungry the rest of the day. I stopped at Tumerico's truck at the gem show and was blown away. Their barbacoa was so tasty and tender, the corn tortillas were thick and moist and didn't break. I always love to try new and unique places to eat. So when we made a trip down to Tucson recently we decided to give this place a try. My dad had seen this place on Triple D and knew my daughter was a vegetarian so he recommended it to us. First off I can't say enough good things about the staff. They were all super friendly and welcoming. Plus they were helpful explaining the menu to us and they constantly made sure we had everything that we needed and if everything was ok. Great service! I've had vegan food before but this food was unique and delicious. It's amazing how the jackfruit had such a similar texture to shredded chicken and pork. The menu looks like it changes daily. My wife and daughter got the Cuban tacos and I got the Chiken Enchiladas. Everyone really enjoyed their means and were shocked at how good they were. If you are Vegan this place is a must try. If you are not Vegan give this place a shot and see for yourself how good Began food can be. read more

As a meat lover, I typically avoid ordering vegetarian dishes unless there are no other options. However, my husband suggested that we try this place, emphasizing its fame. We ordered a burrito, tacos, and a breakfast item, and to my surprise, the common ingredient in all of them was jackfruit, which effectively replaced the missing meat. Vegan food heaven! The whole restaurant is vegetarian, much of it fresh and homemade, including house-made vegan meats. They do use dairy cheese - no vegan cheese available - so when you ask for vegan style, they just remove the cheese. The service is fast and great, both for take-out and dining in. Fabulous Mexican with a twist! The twist being, it's mostly vegetarian!!! Huevos rancheros is the best, served with black beans, rice, pico de gallo and salad. I would eat here regularly, but I unortunately live 2000 miles away. Another thing I love is all the interesting coffees. I had iced coffee with cardamom. Yum Yum Yum. The lack of adult seating, using the cheapest, not very ergonomic chairs available, says exactly what owners don't care about. If a dining experience is based on 3 pillars of food, service and ambiance - Tumerico falls down on this one. The exterior makes it look like it'll be a small, tight restaurant. What a pleasant suprise it was for us to find it open and spacious, especially since we had a stroller! They even have a kids corner with a table and bins full of toys, so it's definitely family friendly. The service was lovely. We told them it was our first visit and everyone was helpful and friendly. Now to the food...we had high expectations given the reputation of the restaurant and those expectations were definitely met. Big portions with amazing flavors. I got the chilaquiles and I love that there was so much more to taste on my plate. They deserve the hype and I would visit again! read more

This place lives up to its reputation. This is the place you drag non-vegetarians to for vegetarian food. This place flips it: it's not vegetarian food that happens to be great -- it's great food that happens to be vegetarian. They hit it out of the park. I recommend anything on the menu. Parking is a pain, it can be crowded...all of which points to the fact that this restaurant has its own posse of regulars. Tumerico is one of the best restaurants in the city and I'll stand by that. read more

This was my first time trying vegan tacos and they did not disappoint. We ordered the Cuban and Al pastor tacos. I believe they were both made out of jackfruit and although it didn't taste exactly like meat, they were super tasty. Of the two, I enjoyed the Al Pastor tacos more. The tacos came with a generous amount of cheese, guacamole, and some yellow pickled onions on the side. It was super delicious!! Each plate came with a nice portion of refried beans, rice, and a salad which is a nice touch. All the sides, unfortunately, was somewhat lacking in flavor which was why I docked a star. The greens needed a tad more dressing and the refried beans were pretty bland and needed some salt/spice. The rice also did not have too much flavor and tasted like it was just boiled and mixed in with some spices. Overall, the star (tacos) were super delicious so I would still wholeheartedly recommend this place for some vegan food in the area! Service was friendly. Parking is in the front of the restaurant and you first order at the counter before you find a table. There is ample seating inside. read more

Tumerico's cuisine is, in its essence, vegetarian, but it goes further and beyond veggie fare. When you bite into and savor her food you can taste the farm-raised girl in every dish she puts in front of you. Rich and profound flavors emerge from not just the rawness of the ingredients, but , the care and use of the spices she likes to indulge in. "I love, love using spices.... "To me, spices are soul. It not only brings out the flavor in the food but it can be healing as well. What makes Tumerico so unique is that there is no menu. Not a traditional laminated or even a take-out type. Visited the restaurant couple of days and I feel they were taking good care maintaining the precautions due to covid. The restaurant was very clean, , staff and patrons were wearing masks and tables were cleaned after the table was used.

Despite that our food still came up timely. Every one was served at the same time and everything was the perfect temp. It was nicely presented and tasted just as good. Even the hard to please were pleased. Generous portions. Great taste. It was fun listening to the mariachi and watching people dance and have a good time. Far as desert. Who had room. When we got frustrated enough to speak with the hostess seeing that other people were seated for tables that arrived long after us we noted that we should be seated as it was well past our reservation time. They said we can sit at the bar but in fact had a table open. When we pointed that out they said that table was for the first couple to arrive which was in fact us. When we noted that they seemed confused but looked at their sheet of names and had no rhyme or reason to the order they were sitting people. Finally we get seated, food was changed last minute to a pre fixed menu with high price. We paid $260 for food that tasted like it cost $30!! Tables beside us were complaining about the food as well, over cooked and rushed. Plates were taken off our table before we were done with them and service was rushed and unprofessional. We have been trying to go here due to high reviews however I strongly recommend not going. In fact, the steak house next door has much better service and food combined for same price. 10/10 do not recommend if I could give 0 stars I would. Please improve not only your service but the quality of food you present to your customers especially for that high of a price tag!

Next time I see it, I want to try the cachapas which seems to be similar to Cuban style arepas wish a softer corn masa, stuffed with cheese and grilled.
