How have I not record TMBC yet?!? They are amazing, and an "O.G." of the ABQ brewery scene. The beers are always good (I highly recommend the stout) and the food is also consistently good. There's almost always a wait for a table so be prepared for that(and parking can be rough but is better now than in the past) but once you are seated the service is always prompt and dependable. They are kid friendly and the kids meals are reasonably priced and include a drink. I'll save you some time....order a flight and a pretzel and you will be happy. read more

Ate at new location Friday night for dinner and left feeling sick. Ordered Fried pickes and pepperoni calzone. The pickes were over fried (practically burnt!) and our Calzone was completely cold on the inside. Ended up having to order appetizers for dinner and we were still asked to pay full price! Extremely disappointed and the manager never came to check on us. The waitress kept trying to talk us into ordering a pizza and we didn't want pizza. We will not be returning! read more

So they have beer and wine only here so I went outside my comfort zone and had the Apple Pear Cider, and it was pretty good. No complaints from me, and I don't drink anything but liquor. They also have some of the best appetizers I've ever had and I've been to a TON of different breweries. We tried the calamari, nachos, buffalo wings, hummus and a pretzel. All of them were really good. The calamari in particular was ridiculously delicious. The one really odd thing about this brewery restaurant s that they don't offer table service on the patio, which means that if you want to take advantage of their generously sized patio and the glorious weather you have to get a menu, figure out what you want, go back inside, flag down the bartender and place a food order (not easy to do when they are busy) and then wait for them to bring it outside. I honestly don't see why they can't support hiring a waitperson for the patio...? Anyway, that is the one odd glitch about this place, otherwise I'd recommend it. read more

Turtle Mountain is one of those places that you can choose anything from the menu and just know that it will be superb. Their pizza is excellent and if you haven't tried it before, you should really get one with their Italian sausage. It's spicy, chunky, and full of deliciousness. My go to is their Shiprock which had Italian sausage, mushrooms, pepperoni, oregano, and mozzarella. This time we ordered their fish and chips, and a burger they call The Chuck. The burger had beer battered onion rings, thinly sliced grilled jalapenos, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce. It was so good! The fish was hot and flaky and served with their house tartar sauce that I would drink if it was socially acceptable. I love the capers that they put in it. I can't tell you what else is in that tartar sauce, but it's totally different than any tartar sauce I've had elsewhere. There's usually a wait of at least 20min to get in no matter what time I come here, but the service, beer, and food are so worth the wait. read more

Great place to eat and get a cold beer! I come here about once a month, and I've eaten the Animas alfredo, nachos, the phillu cheese steak, the burgers and the pizzas. This last time I got the Chimayo pizza and the child was hot! I love hot chili, but this time it we almost too hot if there is such a thing. Our waiter was great, had a good attitude, only complaint is we had to wait a while to order since he was so busy. All in all I really like this place it is a true asset to Rio rancho. They have GREAT beer to choose from. Other breweries who feature beer from other places sometimes have beer that doesn't seem as fresh and sometimes is flat. Not TMB they are in point. Turtle mountain is a great place to stop for a beer and some dinner. Their pizzas are top notch and the beer can hold its own. My wife always gets the buffalo chicken pizza (I forget their name for it) and i, inevitably, have food envy! Its really delicious with a nice amount of toppings but the flavors don't get too crowded. I do not have a regular but have yet to be disappointed (Honestly, I should also order the buffalo chicken but I like to get something different). When we go, we often end up at the bar. They tend to be surprisingly busy. I will say, my only real complaint is that of the two patios, they only allow dogs on the one. And that one is the smokers patio without real waiter service (you order at the bar, they bring it to you). It's certainly their prerogative, but if i am planning to dine with the puppy, I will choose somewhere else. read more

I was kind of torn between 4 and 5 stars, but finally went with 5 stars because our server was absolutely excellent. He really made our visit. I wish like heck I could remember his name! My husband and I haven't been here lately. Our last visit was well over a year ago and a bummer so we just haven't gone back, but we did stop in on Friday afternoon for a late lunch. We had the pretzel appetizer. It was okay. The best thing about it was the kickass horseradish-heavy mustard. We both loved that! We both ordered calzones and mine was made incorrectly. Our server immediately took it away and got another one started for me. As he said, calzones take probably the longest of any of their menu items, but the cook put a rush on it and it came out pretty quickly. It was correct the second time. We both ended up taking home half of each of the calzones ~ they're pretty large. My husband's cup had a crack in it and his orange Fanta was leaking on the table. We pointed it out and it was replaced immediately, but I'm sure our server was thinking OMG can anything else go wrong at this table??? We aren't the type of people that blame the server for everything and he still got a great tip. :-) We'll try this place again soon someday. read more

The wait time for a larger party has always been and still is out of control. I understand that Friday nights are busy, but even when they weren't slammed it took over an hour to be seated. After being seated SERVICE WAS GREAT, but again the wait for the food was horrible. It took at least another hour to get our entrees (including the food for the kids who were starting to get upset because they were so hungry). Into the good stuff; the beer was delicious. I tried the seasonal Oktoberfest and it was a nice blend of hoppy and smooth. The lager was the best though! Food is always incredible and this time didn't disappoint. The amount of green chile they put on stuff is delightful. I have missed spicy chile and they didn't disappoint. If seating/food service was faster I would definitely give a higher rating. read more

Waiter wasn't concerned, didnt bother to say "let me check on your food, it's been awhile" Nothing at all. When we did get our food, everything was dried out. Burgers, dry. Here is a tip for the restaurant...most restaurants put au ju in a bowl that the sandwich can fit in, not in a small plastic container. Now the reason for three stars. I definitely consider this spot an "old faithful" with breweries that I like to visit. The food and beer options are solid, with my favorite being the pizzas and calzones. The portion sizes are huge and you won't leave hungry. We did have a complete mix up with our food on one of our visits and the manager made sure to make it right, and great service like that makes all the difference in the world! So a bit of mixed review. Food has always been good on my numerous visits. It's a bit pricey for quantity and quality. However, the biggest challenge of TMBC is the length of time it Consistently takes to get our food. This time it was 40+ minutes before we got our food. Usually it takes about 30 minutes which is well above normal restaurant standards. One of my cousins that lives in neighborhood also mentioned this and these lengthy wait times are a deterrent as to why they don't visit more often. I recommend it as more of a casual local watering hole for beer and drinks with food available while you're drinking. read more
