Terrible. I just can't believe how bad this place was in so many ways. Where should I start? We ordered and split one Caesar salad and an "Ojo Caliente" pizza with pineapple, chicken and barbecue sauce. The salad managed to be overly garlicky yet bland, the lettuce leaves largely spoiled and the croutons were straight off Albertsons' shelf. Meanwhile, the pizza sauce was horribly sweet, the toppings seemed old and of low quality, and though the pizza had a good cracker crust, I prefer a thin sourdough. The place itself is rather run down and dirty, with greasy carpets and scraped up walls in the dining room and restrooms to match. On the good side, the beer was great, and the service was good. Our server kindly fixed the music--the same song playing repeatedly since we walked in--and even asked what kind of music we'd like. But now every time I hear "My Best Friend's Girl" by the Cars, I'll be reminded of bad pizza. read more

This review is for the brand new Enchanted Hills, Rio Rancho location. My husband and wet and I went there for the first time on a Saturday night 01/08 there was a 45 minute wait so we found two seats at the bar. (The bar was packed!) We just love the fact that to have this new brewery so close to home, we love the original location on Southern. Last night there was only pizza, calzones and salad available, as well as limited beer options. We were a little bit bummed out since we wanted anything other than pizza/salad LOL. We managed. :) I opted for a glass of wine which also had "limited choice" by the glass. Suggestion: perhaps a ciders on tap? Brewlab 101 has a delicious one called "drought" it tastes just like champagne!! So my first impression walking in is that it's open and bright with lots of bar area which we love! We also like the decor with the stainless steel touches. One thing I can say that needs improvement is the beer menu on the back wall - you just can't read it. (See pic). What would be helpful is to know what you have available on a list at the bar or on a bar menu. Other than that, we had a great time, met new friends and will return. Clean Not much atmosphere My personal gluten free pizza and an iced tea was $30 with tip. That's quite pricey - especially for not having a special environment. That would lead me not to go there since it is so expensive. read more

Well, we ordered salads as appetizers and watched the server pick them up, and put them back down under the heat lamps. Salads do not need to be kept warm. After seeing them sit there for 10 minutes, I flagged down our server and asked her to go get them. She said she was waiting for the rest of the order. Appetizers get served first, not with the entree. The kids side of French fries were served cold. I guess they did not sit under the heat lamps! Ugh! Get your act together! read more

As we wait patiently for the new Turtle Mountain location near Hwy 550/528, I thought I'd update my two year old review with some new pics and new excitement! Through the pandemic, Turtle Mountain was able to maintain the same high level of service and quality in person or take out! The same great offerings are available, and the service is always spot on! March 15, 2023 This seems like that local neighborhood bar that all your friends come to :) I came alone after a crap day and got a 'ya look like you could use a drink vibe', which was great. I only tried the Pils beer and I really liked it. Had two pints. For dinner I had the Santa Rosa fish tacos, the habanero sauce was lovely. I always think habanero is more a flavor than a heat indicator and I think this was true here. Is was hot but mostly it added flavor. Cad was cooked well. On my next visit I hope to return in a better mood. And I think I should include that my aunt and uncle, whom live in Rio Rancho, also like and recommend it! read more

This place has been saved in my bookmarks forever and I finally got a chance to go and boy do I wish I ate here much earlier! It's delicious! I love the vibe of this place it's relaxed and cute look. The food was amazing! I ordered a calzone and salad and it was delicious! The hubs got the hot wings and was happy he didn't go hotter because they hot was just hot enough. Ok, but nothing special. Decent "bar food". Good beer and good selection of beers. I had the fish and chips and was mildly disappointed. Just a bit too greasy for my taste. Cod is what you get here in New Mexico so that is certainly nothing special. Taste was ok and cooked well, and the sauce they serve with it was OK. Just had a bulky breading that held the grease. If they went to a corn meal based breading and drained it better it would be better. I ate it all so can't complain about the flavor or the portion at all. Service was just a little slow as well. I was by myself so sat at the bar. Waitstaff didn't seem too interested. So this place is probably a "one and done" for me. Very nice and thoughtful comments from the owner! They told us our table would be ready in 30. Over an hour later still no table. Sure it was Saturday night and yes we had 7 in our party. We watched everyone else get Dottie while we were completely ignored. They would not make eye contact with us. We hate you too! We left. The past time we were there, the service was also horrible. Since we use to be regulars I figured it was a fluke. This place use to be good. In their defense, all restaurants have gone down hill. Then they want more money. Daniel the bartender is second-to-none! He crafted one of the best Old Fashioned cocktails I've ever had and I've had them around the globe. He mentioned they are waiting on a special spirit that will make it even better! I often enjoy a Hopshell IPA or a stout, but I noticed he was sampling with a straw each cocktail he crafted and that's often a sign of someone who cares. And that's obviously the case! I ordered my pizza well-done and it looked like something Portnoy would be rating! My husband and I went there for a midweek little anniversary celebration. We had a couple suggestions from people to try it out. My husband ordered the Tortilla burger smoothered Christmas and ordered it well done. It came out like a hockey puck. Barely any chile on the burger for it to even be considered smothered also. I ordered the sun mountain grinder and it tasted like someone poured an entire salt shaker on it. Not to mention I had to pull off half the bread because it was soggy. We also ordered the Mac & cheese and it was very dry. The server could have done a better job as well. When I was ordering she would only look at my husband. When my husband told her about the food she said. "Oh well it's our dinner rush." That should be an excuse dinner rushes happen every single day at any restaurant. The cooks should be prepared. I understand mistakes happens but when our entire meal was not good that's a problem. The server gave us 50% off my husband's tortilla burger. Wow, wow, wow! I'm told this was a hidden gem, but now everyone knows! What a great find! Carne asada tacos are the bomb! I was so happy with my choice and man did I want to order more, full well knowing I was already full! Beer selection is good, I had the American lager, which was good for me! There are a lot of IPAs on the menu, so if that's you, you'll be happy! TMB is a go to for a good listing of brews for sure. By far the fish and chips is a favorite. Nice tasty large pieces and of course the chips. Service is always excellent and the local sports pub atmosphere is cool. read more

I enjoy going to eat here. Food is usually good. I always tell my friends if they order the Nachos they are very hot!! Even without chili because they put chili in the nacho cheese. The waitress even said people send back the nachos several times a day. The owner knows but he won't change the way it's made. It makes the nachos very unenjoyable. read more

Green Chile Mac n cheese is to die for, the chicken Alfredo, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and calzones are all amazing. They also offer some great selections of beer and wine. My family of (7) seven ordered dinner from here for pick up. I had the patty melt with all the fixings and fries. It was FLIPPING delicious! Normally, I'm not a patty melt person but I wanted a burger. Not a blue cheese burger or other specialty burger but a good solid yummy burger. I got what I wanted! It was delicious. Grandkids had the burger kids meal and they were happy. Others had the salmon with cilantro lime rice (BOMB!) and ?? something else. Bottom line is that this place knows how to keep local folks happy with GREAT food. I didn't try the beer but I will!! I like the food at Turtle Mountain, however, the sauces for wings are all hot and spicy. For people who cannot eat hot and spicy foods there should be other options. Example, for a dry rub, garlic parmesan or lemon pepper would be good options. Also have a regular BBQ sauce that is not spicy or has heat. I hope to see some new sauces in the near future. read more

Found this restaurant on Yelp, and so glad I did! Went for lunch so did not have any of their brew. They have a variety of sandwiches, burgers, taco, pasta and pizza. I will say the pizza was one of the best I have ever had! But everything coming out of the kitchen look very good! Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The wooden teeth and the Schwarzbier are my favs, hands down. There's a reason why they are taking home awards! I've had the chance to sample pizza here, nachos, fish n chips, and even pasta, everything serves up well, and the service is commendable. Ok there are brew places you go because, well, beer.....but TMBC is the place you go to get FED, and oh yes, maybe have beer..... Tonight, for my birthday, our party of 6 went all over the menu, and all was delicious! Calzones as big as Popeye's forearm, (with no sacrifice on flavors). The Mimbres is my fav, with artichokes, spinach, roasted peppers and garlic, with yummy stringy mozz! Hubby tried the Bear Canyon Sammy, and totally appreciated the mega amount of meat! He stole some of my Dad's jalapeños from his mountain of cheesy, guacamole chicken nachos to put on his sandwich and was very happy. Out of town friends enjoyed Phil's Fish and Chips. For me, the birthday girl, I was served one delicious brownie, a la modey, and was thankful that our server brought out multiple spoons for the rich gooey chocolate, nutty bites. Bar food is bar food. What separates the fine from the good, in my opinion, are the smallish touches, the almost overlooked angles that us connoisseurs relish. I consider myself as such because my pops raised me in dive bars, flirting with waitresses and sipping swill while I stuffed my belly with questionable burgers and pizza. Turtle Mountain is upper echelon for me, because I can spot and taste the little things that go a little bit above and beyond the basics and deliver that Comfort angle you're looking for, beginning with the beer. This company won a GABF gold medal for a lager. That's really important to note in The Land of Hopchantment. The brewmaster appreciates subtlety and nuance, a rarity around here, so order the lower-ABV pours and pair your suds with something salty, greasy and cheesy, you only live once. On my next visit, I'm getting a burger, but for now I can report that you can expect plenty of toppings, on the pizza, of course. Heaps of meats. It sounds whiny, but I do get uppity when my bar pizza arrives with scant pepperoni or bacon bits. I also love a good, chunky, slightly watered down bleu cheese dressing -- again, this place nails it. Everything's too big, you're going to take half of it home, and you'll still justify the Choco Canyon dessert. Very clever title, guys. read more
