Just bought my third car this year today. I purchased an RX350 for my father. I shopped around a lot for many days before choosing Tustin Lexus. The price was certainly a major decider for me, but in all honesty the salesmanship from Rex Urasaki was the final tipping point that helped me select Tustin Lexus. Rex was professional, straightforward and honest from day one. He wasn't pushy or over the top at any point. I experienced none of the annoying "salesy" nonsense that unfortunately can accompany many auto purchases. To top it off, the process of actually signing the paperwork could not have gone any smoother. I will be buying another car next spring and will certainly be giving Rex a call. read more

I have purchased every Lexus from Tustin Lexus since 1995. I don't know much about the buying experience there nowadays because I have not purchased a new one in a few years. But if I do purchase another Lexus, I plan to give Tustin Lexus a first shot. The reason why I am writing is because of the service department. I have always relied on the service department for over 20 years, even though I moved away from OC to LA, about 50 miles away. The service department manager Rene Parenteau is truly remarkable, including how handsome he may be (ha ha!). Of course, beauty is in the eyes of beholder... I have known Rene for over 20 years. Without a doubt, he always delivers, and sometimes he even bends over backwards. Well, what I mean is that he takes care of people. He is a people person and most reasonable. I explain to him my reasons, he listens. He understands where I am coming from. Sometimes the front people, especially other service consultants working under Rene, goof because they are only humans. Rene corrects it, particularly with the help of Shop Foreman Steve Brunsworth. In the past, I had service consultants who tried to have me spend money on things that were not necessary. They may be under pressure to sell, and/or they could think that I could afford to waste my money. But whenever I talk with Rene or Steve, they give straight-forward answers. In other words, no BS. If and when Rene retires because he is not getting any younger like myself, Tustin Lexus will have a gigantic gap to fill. I just hope that they do not fill the spot simply with one of the service consultants who are there now because they seem to have some ways to go. I am sorry, but I was not impressed with them, especially compared to Rene. You see, Rene gets it. He is not "stuck up." He does not try to impress. He listens. He cares. In other words, if there is any problem that is not resolved 100% with the service consultants, just ask for Rene. Simply tell him, I have these issues, and can you help me. He will because he has always for me. Just remember that he has been losing some hair over the years from people complaining, and there is no reason to attack the service consultant personally. Focus on the issue, and he takes care of the issue. I decided to write this comment because I read about many unfair reviews. Honestly, I don't know why Tustin Lexus is not hiring the best people to work there, but there are still some good ones like Rene, who has been there for over 20 years! Perhaps, I am writing in hopes that Tustin Lexus will continue to find people like Rene to work there and keep them there. read more

The service department got to be the worst all time. First, it is expensive, a routine schedule service for ES350 is more than double of the service of a MB ML550. I stoped going there for a long time. Recently, there is a safety recall for the passenger side airbag inflator, so we made an appointment. The first time is a mess up because they didn't receive the part even the appointment was made at 1 month ahead of time. The second appointment, they kept the car for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. When we call back to check, no guarantee to complete the work on Sunday. This place deserves 0 star. read more

Three weekends ago I took my 2016 Lexus GS200T for the first schedule maintenance and when I took delivery of my vehicle it was running so I didn't notice anything abnormal. Later that evening before leaving my house I noticed a light on the dash, something to do with the injectors so I took it back the next day Sunday to see what was going on. They told me it needed an upgrade? So I asked why it wasn't done the day before when it was in, so they gave me a bunch of excuses. I scheduled another appointment for the following weekend so when I got there I was first told it would only take 30 minutes plus a car wash so I waited around 2 hours. I understand if they are busy but please be realistic with the real time. Anyway so today I'm washing my car and I while cleaning the interior I noticed that they left the shift knob loose!! And my right front wheel is damaged as well. At this point I'm upset with their service in general. If you take your vehicle in for service make sure you perform a walk around to make sure your vehicle it's not damage. Other than waisting my time, now I have to go to another Lexus dealership so they can fix the knob and pay for the damage that was done at Tustin Lexus. read more

I can honestly say...we are consistently given the star treatment from the staff and although it's not necessary, it is certainly nice. I have been purchasing or leasing cars from Tustin Lexus for the last 12 or 13 years and always service my car there as well. Pre owned ES 350 was advertised at a very good price on the internet. I called to see if it was still available before driving all the way to Tustin. Took a test drive, liked the car, and when we started talking price, I was told the car was selling for a couple of thousand more than I had seen. When I put up a stink, the salesman left to "talk to the sales manager". About an hour later after going back and forth, I insisted we go on line to prove I am right about the asking price. We went on line and sure enough the price had been changed. I certainly believe that they changed it during that hour. After I got home, I checked to see if I had printed it out the day before and sure enough, I did and I was right (so I wasn't losing my mind). I believe I was bait and switched on the price. He was able to answer them all and with no hard sell. We took test drive and bought the car that day. Finance office was a mess total opposite in terms of experience. I have been a repeat customer at Tustin Lexus and this is the first time I have to write a negative review as I am disappointed and furious in the way that Services Mgr George Glover handled this. I took my car in to Tustin Lexus on 9/25 because engine light, warning light, and 'Check csv" lights were lighting up my dashboard + the vehicle was taking some time to start in the mornings. Diagnosis was battery needed to be replaced and rodents had eaten through some wires to the cylinders. Although the parts were inexpensive, the labor was costly but I expected that because I am bringing the vehicle to a dealer so I expect the job done right the first time at a premium. On 10/2/2020 I pick the vehicle after a hefty $1547 invoice but I was just happy the vehicle was repaired. The next day I try start the vehicle and guess what...same issues persist. Same lights come on and car struggles to start. I leave the car for the rest of the weekend and call Tustin Lexus first thing on Monday 10/5/2020 and I take it in again. They call me back on 10/6/2020 saying more rats must have got into the vehicle as they need to replace more wires and now they want to charge me more????? Unbeknown to George (mgr) and Iman (svc rep) the vehicle was not parked in its normal parking spot as it was left at UCI campus that weekend and when I informed my trusty service guys they said that there are rats there too!!!!! Wow - this is how you treat a Lexus customer? I own 2 x Lexus vehicles btw so I am definitely letting Lexus HQ know about how Tustin treats loyal Lexus buyers. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This was the worst car buying experience in my life. I have gotten 3 previous cars from Lexus and that's why I came to this dealership. From the beginning things seemed sketchy the sales guy had me drive around the top model of the 350 ES that I got. I kept asking what is the difference between that one and the color I wanted he said the Navigation the other one even has rims we will throw in. This is comical because I had him run my credit and when he noticed I was tier 1 he started immediately to try to get me to buy. I was there to buy since I had sold my other car before. Let me say that my previous car was 10 years old I did pay over 50k but I got even unnecessary things on it. So back to this car he drives me to it it's filthy not even in the lot. It is the color I wanted black on black do i wait and wait for them to clean it. They must of needed a team of them how could you show a filthy car like that to a buyer? Anyway then comes finance I asked for every single thing added to be disclosed. Guess what the rims where in there. After a heated argument with the manager he took $5 off the payment. Then the finance guy says your approved for our credit card that cash for the down payment keep it then you will save $200. What is that a lie again. He ran me credit for this. Then comes the extras he got me on window tint went down $200 when I got the bill it cost them $120 for the job they charged me close to $500!!! After I asked them they bring the manager who is worthless. He tells me how much of a great deal I got and how they lost money. Really if you lost money then why would you sell a car? This car is junk for 40k seriously junk it is as basic as it gets. I have had to get air on the tires 3 times in less than 3 months. I warm anybody not you shop here. They are liars and a rip off. My Honda is better and it cost a fraction of the cost. I not only despise the people but the stupid car. We recently purchased a new RX350 from Tustin Lexus and the experience was top notch. The sales professional we dealt with was Alex Kim. Alex was OUTSTANDING. He worked dilligently to get the exact car we wanted delivered to the dealership super quickly as the exact color / package combination was not on the lot at the time. There was no pressure to buy until we reviewed and were completely happy with the car. The price negotiation was also super easy and friendly - we agreed on a fair, mutually beneficial price in no time. Alex also came in on his day off to allow us to take the car home early. The experience with the rest of the team was just as good. The Finance professional explained all the optional warranties and care packages but in no way tried to pressure sell us on anything. I cannot speak to the sales side of this dealership but if you are contemplating bringing your car here for service and maintenance I will say that the customer service is absolutely atrocious. If I could provide them with less than one star I would happily do so. My point of contact misrepresented on three separate occasions when my car would be ready and my second point of contact, while nice, had virtually zero follow up. I sit here almost three weeks after I dropped off my car when initially told that it would be 2-3 days and still don't know if I'm getting my car today - haven't gotten a call back. I thought nothing of it until I inspected myself. To my surprise the tire was in really bad shape. If Derek hadn't pointed it out, a tire blow was eminent. If I could give this dealership zero or negative stars, I would. We were in the car market and interested in the Lexus NX and stopped by the dealership on a Saturday evening and there were not that many customers mind you. We were in the lot and normally a car sales man walks up and asks you if you need help (nobody did). So I waited for a gentleman to be done with his customer and tried to catch him as he was walking back to the building and said, "Hi, we're interested in looking at car." The gentleman turned 10º back and we made eye contact and he snubbed me and kept walking toward the building. Mind you, my fiance saw this whole interaction as well. So I said, "hello?" again and he didn't stop so we followed him to the building. A normal nice person would open the door for the following person coming in....NOPE he let the door shut in my face. Again, my fiance witnessed all this. We walked up to the front desk and the lady looked at us with a face of terror like we were robbers or something and backed her chair away and said nobody was available and everyone was busy. So we calmly said we will sit and wait. We waited for a bit and I walked back to the desk and she said nobody was available and asked if we would like a brochure instead and I told her, "Yes, I'll take one but we'd really like to meet with a sales guy." Eventually the lady found someone for us. We walked back out to the lot and waited for the guy and he came out and smiled and said, "I can't seem to find the keys to the car you want to drive." We told him, "That's fine, any Lexus NX is fine for us to test drive." So he went back in and a separate gentleman came back with a key. This guy was actually decent and nice and took his time with us but the first guy and the second need to be fired. FYI. The first guy who snubbed me should be fired. He was a tall really skinny younger gentleman and was a terrible human being / salesman. Isn't a job of a car salesman to sell cars to get their commission? You are in the service industry, so service your customers. I highly advise this branch to review each car salesman employee and see if you really want horrible staff like that. Looking at the reviews, I am not the only one whose had horrible experience. I guess this branch wants to shut down and not make their numbers. We were both livid and in disbelief by how ill-treated we were at this Lexus. We eventually decided to forgo purchasing a Lexus because of this experience. WAY TO GO for not selling a car! read more

I sure wish I could figure out/have had anything CLOSE to as good of an experience at this place that some have reported. Did we go to the same dealer? The first night we came to this location we were approached by a salesmen who was prob one of the worst salesmen I have ever come across. He was totally unhelpful and seemed to be dodging EVERY question I asked him. I basically had to ask him 3 or 4 times to get the keys for me so I could drive the car I was interested in. Do these people actually WANT to sell any cars??.. no stickers of features on half the cars. No prices anywhere in sight...totally lame. Everything I asked was answered with an "I THINK its about ......" or "I THINK it has .....", .... "Ill have to go inside and look it up...." .. Seriously? I left saying I would never go back there again. SOOOO, like an idiot, the BF and I decided to give them one more try (this is/was my own fault) The IS 250 didn't seem to be having as much power as I'm used to and was lacking a few features I was hoping for. Since we were heading that way before dinner we decided to swing by to see if the IS 350 may be a better fit. When we arrived everyone seemed to be too busy to help us. Then we asked the receptionist if anyone could help us..... Just our luck, in came our old pal from the day or two before! :/ I clearly and pointedly told him I wanted to drive an IS 350. He then walked us back to his office, started tinkering on his computer, asking me what color I wanted, etc... I didnt care! I just wanted to see if I even liked the car....long story short, we left without even driving a 350 because he said I wasn't interested in the only one they had on the lot.... ummm, ok?? I realize Im no car salesman (or woman) But if a customer says they want to drive one of your cars.. DO IT! I didnt say I needed to buy a car today! If you have confidence in your product, let me drive the thing and I'll WAIT for the one I want IF you have some decent follow up skills. I was just here yesterday and no wonder they only have 3 stars !! I was looking at a RX 350 and told the sales person I would think about it since it wasn't the color interior that I originally wanted. I'm having a baby and I needed a black interior. She said that she could give me the car for zero down and make my payments lower than what she had initially told me. She gave me her card so we could keep in touch and I walked out for FIFTEEN MINUTES.I came back inside to talk to her and she sat us down in her office only to tell us that the car had already been sold. The whole time she was showing us the car she had an unpleasant customer service. She kept saying "well I have the car that you want so what's the problem now" as if buying a car was an easy decision to make. So I called into Tustin Lexus and asked for sales and was forwarded to Josephine she claims that she is the only female car salesman at Tustin Lexus. Anyways, we worked out the final number and called to confirm twice on the car availability, color, and price. I told we her I was on my way. After driving through one hour in traffic, I meet Josephine and she says she is sorry and that she "messed up" and she only has a certain color and if I wanted to get the color I wanted it would be a 4K increase. This is just plain bad business. She just wanted me to walk in the door so she can start her sales tactics. Not once did she bother to call in that one hour of traffic. It was all a tactic. What really sucks is that I had my fiancé al full of hopes. She is horrible and I plan to never want to do business with Tustin Lexus. read more

I walk into this dealership to test drive the Lexus ct hybrid. After a couple of minutes looking to see if there is someone to help me, I approach this guy John Braun. He asks me whether I am going to buy a car today. I said I have not even test driven the car and would like to test drive it first. Then he says, if I am not going to buy the car, then I am wasting his time. He throws a interesting statics that if I don't buy the car right away, there is 1% percent chance of me buying the car from him as salesperson. I respond to him stating that this is not how to give a bad first impression to a prospective buyer. He reluctantly agrees to let me test drive the car, but only within the block. As we sit in the car, he states again that if I am not going to buy the car right away, I am wasting his time. He suggests that If I put down $100, then it makes economic sense for him to take me on a longer test drive. As he is pulling out of the lot, I decide I had enough of this rudeness and ask him to abort the test drive. We immediately pull back in and got down.I complained to the manager about this person rude behavior and then left with a promise to never return back to this dealer. Do not waste your time. Peter the Internet manager ran numbers for a used 250c on a car that had been on the lot for 4 months. The numbers seem to magically change and increase because Peter"had read the numbers wrong" I called back to see how they could be so far off and 5 mins later he told me the car had been sold ! What a waste of time. I went to Beverly Hills Lexus last night and purchased a great Lexus with an honest sales person Doug. He even delivered the car to my house in North OC. Well, what can I say? Initially, I was going to give this dealership 2 or 3 stars, but after reading other reviews, I realized that I was not the only one who received poor service. Therefore, the customer service problem at Tustin Lexus is systematic, not one time occurrence. I was on the market for a new SUV. My list was narrowed down to Acura MDX, Audi Q5, Infiniti QX60, and Lexus RX 350. Yesterday I decided to pay a visit to several South OC Lexus dealerships. Tustin Lexus, unfortunately, provided the worst customer service. My experience with Tustin Lexus started with an internet lead. I emailed them an inquiry last week about the pricing on RX 350. Leo, the internet sales guy, got back to me with the MSRP pricing. I told him straight out that I am not paying the MSRP pricing since any other OC dealer is selling 2014 RX 350 below MSRP right now. He said that there was a misunderstanding and of course he would be willing to give me a discount, however, the price is so low that he can't even put it in the email and I would have to call him. Now, a little side note, I know the car industry inside out. I've been buying new cars for years, I've been dealing with more dealers in the last 10 years than some people dealt in their entire lifetime. I know what MSRP means, what "dealer's cost" means, and approximately how much dealers actually pay to the manufacturer. So, I called Leo and he did not pick up the phone. I left him a message and asked to call me back with the pricing. He called me back next day around 8pm and I missed his call. I called him back 20 minutes later and again, he did not pick up the phone. On Saturday he was not present at the dealership since he had an emergency. Colleen from Tustin Lexus called me on Saturday morning and told me that I can meet with Rex, who knows my needs and he would be more than happy to help me. When we showed up at the dealership, we've met Rex who told us that actually Peter will take care of our needs. Peter showed us bunch of RX 350 that were lined up in front of the dealership, told us everything he memorized about this vehicle in his training classes, and showed us bunch of irrelevant stuff that I did not even listen to as I already knew everything I needed to know about the car. After he had an opportunity to speak up and show us his "deep knowledge" we allowed him to proceed to the office and talk about the numbers. Now I was eager to see this "great deal that they can't even put in the email" knowing that I will see a number that will make me laugh. Sure enough, "the great deal" was not even close to the number that we've received through Costco Autosave Program at another OC dealership :) So Peter starting throwing the phrases and tricks that he probably picked up from his colleagues that were selling cars in 1980's: "let's cut through the chase" was mentioned at least 5 times in 15 minutes that we spent in his cubicle. Then he was clicking on the computer "looking through his inventory", calculating the numbers on the calculator for another 45 seconds, trying to look so smart and making an impression that he was doing something important. What a joke! I thought that all Lexus dealers got over these 1980's tricks, but apparently I was wrong. There are still some antediluvian species out there at Tustin Lexus. We did not even get to the "let me talk to my boss" part as I knew that this place was a rip off. The reason I did not want to stay longer to hear "let me talk to my boss part" was because Peter turned out to be quite a rude person. As soon as he saw that he will not be able to impress us with his tricks he became very nervous, started raising his voice, and interrupting as soon as my wife tried to say something. I hate this place. I was there twice browsing the car lot and both times the salesmen that approached me seemed like they could care less. One of them actually got on his cell phone while we were doing a test drive and when we got back to the lot, he excused himself and left me before I could even shut off the car. I stood there for 10 min not knowing what to do and then realized I should leave. My husband got his car serviced here once and that was a bad experience too. read more
