On a rare visit to our friends in San Rafael the four of us went out to brunch Saturday around 11am. We started off with Bloody Mary's. Took a few sips before I remembered to take a photo. We agreed there was enough booze in the drink. A good variety of breakfast items which the four of us were aiming for. Although it's an Asian fusion place, our breakfast items were American. Ordered - * I had the pancakes with two eggs and choice of sausage, bacon, or ham. I chose ham. It was Canadian bacon which I liked. * hubby & friend had the waffle, two eggs, and choice of sausage, bacon or ham. Hubby had bacon while friend had sausage. The Belgian waffle was a good size and crisp. * other friend had the mushroom omelette with potatoes and wheat bread. He enjoyed the entire plate. Good portion sizes. Service was attentive. Water refilled as necessary. We found metered street parking. Located in the business district.

Very nice location on Main Street of San Rafael, perfect ambiance and unique Brunch menu which is fun with some quirky names like McStupid Muffin. The best of what we had .. coffee so good, berries were amazing as were the breakfast potatoes which were so crispy (which is oddly rare at brunch places). The crab Benedict was not thrilling very middle of the road and the Tom Yum omelette was interesting but may be better as a scramble. It would love to try more of their menu!

Unique Thai fusion breakfast. Yep, you read that right! Somehow, it works. We loved the Tom Yum omelet (spicy), the Croffle (croissant + waffle), crab Benedict, and Thai iced tea pancakes. You can also get more ordinary options -- including a range of benedicts. The potatoes are the bomb: so, so crispy without being oily. How do they do it? Service was more efficient than friendly, but that was fine. Coffee was delicious. Will be bringing people here from now on when we need a Marin meeting spot.

We had a delightful lunch on a Wednesday at noon. Weather was beautiful and we sat outdoors; the staff was quite attentive even though we were the only outdoor table. My pad Thai was delicious - moist with tasty sauce and tender chicken. Mango tango drink was great - house made mango purée with sparkling water. My companions ordered a tom yum scramble, fried chicken eggs Benedict, and a blackstone eggs Benedict. They all really enjoyed their food and thought the portions were large finished (or nearly so) everything. We'd absolutely do that again!

I liked this place a lot! The omelette portion seemed a bit small (just 3 shrimp) but the sauce was delicious. It came with mushroom and other veggies. I would have loved more filling. I thought the potatoes were so crunchy and perfect! The coffee is strong and the place is great. We also share Thai tea pancakes. These were fluffy and the Thai sauce was just right! Super perfect and fluffy. We enjoyed the fresh fruit. These so good to dip in the Thai tea sauce. The interior is cute and comfy. Staff are very nice.

4.5 stars rounded up. Loved the ambiance of this place with the large format paintings and tall ceilings. Came here for brunch and ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine ($18) which came with house potatoes. OMG those potatoes were the highlight of the dish IMO. Crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside, they nearly melted in my mouth. Daughter ordered the Here's 2 Ya ($19.00) which came with two pancakes, two eggs & two strips of bacon. Pancakes were light and fluffy, and she got her eggs poached which were perfectly cooked served in a bowl. Service was friendly and attentive. Would come back again.

Came here for brunch. Surprising how many groups were here on a weekday. Food took long but it was good. The Loco Moco was interesting, more Thai than Hawaiian for sure.

After a nice long hike we decided to give this place a try. Breakfast was eh okay but the hot thai tea was the best part of our visit. The place was easy to find and service was great.

Tutu Lounge on 4th Street in San Rafael is a pleasant surprise relatively new addition to a declining # of restaurants. From cool egg dishes to pancakes w/panache @ brunch to spicy basil dishes it's a keeper! Give it a go & spread the word-Tutu all the way!

Yummy is the best word for this cute little spot..The Thai tea pancakes were pretty good..But I could of ate a bowl of the Thai tea sauce served for them..Absolutely delicious! My fiance had the Spicy Basil Chicken! I'm coming back just for that next time.. The restaurant is really cute, very clean. Service was on top of it and very patient. I had a hard time choosing what to have. I really liked this place and would absolutely return.. I love trying new places, new flavors.. It's the best in life.

Located in Marin County, California, The Lodge in Fairfax is an iconic, historic establishment built in 1908 by the Arbini and Segale families as The Old Timer's Saloon, serving as the town's very first bar. After years of being utilized differently, the building underwent an extensive two-year restoration. The owners of the San Francisco bike shop Big Swingin' Cycles purchased the property, upgrading its infrastructure, adding a kitchen, and building a large, dog-friendly outdoor beer garden. You get that feeling that you really are at a lodge at the lake in Wisconsin. At least for a minute, it brings back memories. However, in place of the white and red pine trees are the gorgeous redwoods providing shade. Nice tap beer list with healthy portions served. I had the mushroom tacos, vegetarian style with a little salad and chips $10 and a half a beer. My lunch mate had the summer salad with chicken added $25 bucks which is a little steep, but certainly enough for two people. Served in a very large bowl. It's quite impressive. I would forgo the protein and save the six bucks extra. Great spot, great service, great ambience, great food, and beer. Walk, drive your car, or bicycle in. There are a bike racks and some parking on site.

A friend who'd talked up The Speakeasy for years is besotted by the Marsala Sautéed Chicken Livers ($11) on the bar menu. Not ever a fan of liver, I avoided sampling his until we'd collectively polished off an order of Baked Goat Cheese ($10) and a trio of Pulled Pork Tacos ($13). He'd grown full and much liver remained which is when I learned that I do like chicken liver. Or rather, I like chicken liver as prepared at The Speakeasy. All of the above pretty much had me fan-girling out over this place but then this happened: We were done, requested our check, and were told that someone that evening had picked up the tab for the entire bar, something I've not experienced in my lifetime. I already liked The Speakeasy a whole lot before learning my food and drink were free of charge. Like changed to rabid fandom when this occurred. I know that I can't expect a full repeat of this experience but even if it's just chicken livers and Cabernet, that'll be enough.

Having visited New Orleans earlier this year, I was so excited to try this place! As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was transported back to NOLA! There were beads hanging and Mardi Gras decorations throughout the restaurant. Since it was a weekday, there was no wait and we had our choice of sitting inside or out. We opted for inside. Our server was warm and friendly, bringing us water promptly. We started off with an order of beignets. It arrived with three big pieces. They were freshly fried and doused in powdered sugar. So good! My daughter ordered the chicken and waffles, while I decided to try the everything gumbo. The chicken and waffles was huge! It came with several pieces of fried chicken that was topped with freshly minced garlic and came with a homemade spicy sauce. My daughter loved it! I tried a bite and thought it was tasty as well. She ended up taking half of it home. The everything gumbo was also delicious! It was a little thin in my opinion, but the flavor was amazing! It was truly authentic and I could taste all the seafood that was in it. I finished my entire bowl! Unlike the chicken and waffle, it was appropriately sized. When I went to pay the bill, there was a sign that said "free beignets if you pay cash." So of course, I paid our bill in cash! Luckily, I had enough cash on me. Can't pass up a deal like that! All in all, it was a very enjoyable meal! If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely go back to The Hummingbird!
