Went for late brunch, outside patio out front, only 1 other couple there, served coffee right away. Sat for over 30 min for waiter to take our order, another couple sat next to us. They ordered and their food delivered right when we started to order! Over 30 min wait to order and they weren't busy. Had to ask water for the dog. Wow, bring your appetite for the place! Huge portions and a huge menu so you may end up with many doggy bags! Such a cute little cafe with many vegan and regular options. The complimentary bread is awesome, drinks are fancy and delish, but the entrees are outstanding. Being the foodie that me & my wife are, we were recommended this place by my wife's co-worker. The food was scrumptious! The portion was huuuggeee. The restaurant is very cute with an extensive menu that seems to accommodate a variety of dietary preferences (traditional, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free). The wasabi Bloody Mary was delicious! I also tried the biscuits and gravy which were good but not great, however, other entrees looked quite tasty. The restaurant is cash only which seems like a big miss for 2022. Additionally, the cashier declined to divide the check for a party of 5 so expect to pass cash around like on a poker table if dining with friends The location also seems unfortunate. I arrived on the CTA and walking along Argyle seemed not wise (lots of people loitering and conspicuously eyeing me up and down but fortunately there were police in squad cars patrolling. Definitely seemed like taking a car door to door would be wise. Overall, I would go back- probably prioritizing the bar but the food was great none the less. Stopped in for brunch while visiting my best friend in Chicago. It's one of his favorite spots and I definitely see why! The food is absolutely delicious and we were able to sit outside. Even though it was windy (in Chicago?!), the restaurant did their best to remedy the pitfalls of the city's nickname. On top of the metal tables, the tablecloths had magnets at each corner to keep everything "down to Earth." It was a nice touch I was glad to notice. The food and drinks were sooo good. I love the resurgence of espresso martinis and the one (okay, the TWO) I had here did not disappoint. Ian and Jamey had Bloody Mary's that came in the coolest chalices. Food-wise, I had the Walter Salad and ya'll... it may be the best one I've had without making it myself. I don't really like it when salads come with huge chunks of veg that you have to cut yourself (often awkwardly, with a butterknife). This salad, on the other hand, was all chopped up so nicely I could just shove forkfulls in my face - just the way I like it! Niche, maybe, but they earned major brownie points with me on that one. Since I had a three day weekend, decided to come visit my friend in uptown and try the brunch up here. For a Monday morning at 11, the place was fairly packed. I guess a lot of people are off today too! Since there were only two of us (and a service puppy), we had no trouble getting a table right away. The entire staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Chalk it up to the time we arrived that morning or the brand of beans themselves, but they certainly know how to brew a good cup of joe. - I'm not vegan, but gravitate to vegan options a lot more lately since I'm lactose intolerant. Their holy tamales were DELICIOUS! Perfectly cooked polenta cakes, great seasoning, and I didn't know what I was missing out on until I tried vegan spicy mayo for the first time with this dish. Because you are immediately given a small piece of cake as a free appetizer, and I got the vegan cake. I did post a picture of our cakes. I am not sure exactly what the flavor was, but we both liked what we had. I would like to call out our server, Seth, who was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. All of those qualities enhanced the dining experience. Because my friend is adamantly NOT vegan, she had a traditional patty melt, which came with a whole mess of French fries. Maybe the most enchanting breakfast joint I've ever been to. (And that's saying something!) We went on a Thursday afternoon (brunch time) and it wasn't busy. Perfect! We were sat quickly with a small dish of chocolate chip coffee cake (?). It was a sweet touch. The waiter was fun and bubbly, while being informative and helpful. He was also masked, which was much appreciated. We started with water and coffee. These were filled consistently and the coffee was great! I had the French Toast with syrup and a side of Chicken Sausage. My friend got the standard breakfast (eggs, meat, potato, etc.). The portions were big and filling--the value was great for the price. After hearing great things about Tweet, my family and I decided to take my fiancé out for a birthday brunch there - and unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. While it was understandably busy on a Sunday morning, we were shuffled around the restaurant for 30 minutes waiting for our table, with each new person essentially telling us we were in their way. Once we were seated, we were immediately rushed into placing an order (with the added bonus of being called "honey" on loop), and though the food did come out pretty quickly, during our wait, I was forced into placing my coat on my lap as it was "too big" for the back of my chair (it's winter in Chicago...) and my purse was knocked onto the floor, several times. The food was solid but of course before our plates were even empty, our check was placed on the table, and upon paying, we were told "we're really busy today so you'll need to release this table."
