I came in for my birthday lunch at Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar using a $10 birthday rewards offer. I hadn't been to Twigs in a long time, but I received the email and decided to give it another try for my birthday. Overall, I was a little surprised by the experience. When I arrived, it seemed quite busy, but service was slower than expected. It took about 30 minutes to even receive a straw for my water, and there was a noticeable delay in getting basic table service. It felt like they may have been short-staffed, which could explain some of the wait times. I also never had the chance to mention it was my birthday when I was seated, and in the past at other restaurants, I've usually been asked if I was there for a special occasion. I only ended up mentioning it while checking out, and the staff member did kindly say happy birthday at that point. As I was leaving, I overheard that this location may be closing soon, which would help explain the overall experience and slower service. I still appreciate the intention behind the visit and the birthday reward, but this experience felt more rushed and less attentive than expected. read more

I never had this happen at this location before. We were seated in the bar. (Hostess choice. Not ours). There were very few customers in the restaurant. First of all the food was great. But the entire experience was ruined by the waitress. We were looking over the drink and menu and we were there at 2:45 pm. Happy hour started at 3. We asked our waitress about it. She was like oh yeah go ahead and order off the happy hour menu. She took our orders at 2:55. When we received our bill everything was at full price! The Easter Bruch is great. The food is fresh and replaced every few minutes. The variety is great and the food all tastes delicious. You got the ham, the roast beef, the peeled shrimp the ice sculpture and all of the delicious brunch items you hope for. The entire atmosphere is fabulous. Definitely back for Mother's Day. I have been eating at Twigs for over 15 years and they do NOT miss. I have had almost everything on the menu and there really is nothing I wouldn't recommend. My daughter and I stopped here for a nice happy hour meal together tonight. It was a very enjoyable experience. We wanted to share the happy hour small plates and chose the KALUA PORK TACOS. (Kalua pork, slaw, Creole remoulade, cilantro, flour tortillas.) Twigs has several locations in Spokane, which increases the variability in the final product. Final product includes 3 things IMO, in order of importance: quality of food, service, ambience. I've dined at the south hill and downtown twigs many times over 10 years. I am very disappointed in the south hill location. First, for a martini bar, they struggle with preparation. All martinis arrive charitably on the rocks, swimming in ice, even when one asks for a martini "up". The food is overpriced and mediocre. The salads are 2/3 cheese and sugary nuts, with small amounts of fresh lettuce and vegetables. The mains are often doused with sauces, so you can't enjoy the main ingredients. I had a fish sandwich that had an unpleasant smell served on a roll that was not freshly made. Not even sourced from a good bakery in the area. Service was c+. Forgot requests and not very attentive. read more

I had a lovely meal out on their back patio. Service was very good considering how many people were having dinner here on a Monday night! If you haven't been on their patio, it is a surprise. There's little water area (can't really call it a lake nor a river, although it might be a creek but not sure where the water comes from or goes to)! I've been to Twigs on the South Hill a bunch of times. The restaurant excels at accommodating groups and outdoor dining. I have tried several things on the menu and everything has always been pretty good. They should lower their lunch prices. Fish and chips was $24 and came with 2 pieces of fish. Today I met with two friends I'd not seen in five months, we had a lovely server Hannah, she was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our food and drinks very much, especially me as I've not had a burger and fries in ages and it came out perfect. Such a great staff and location. I'm a regular and love their weekend brunch, beer selection and martinis. Kenyada & Tiffany are so personable and awesome bar tenders/servers. They'll get you taken care of whether it's crazy busy or pretty chill. Their French toast is my favorite ever (and I have a french mother). It's made on French baguette and served with a citrus butter. So delicious. $5 mimosas for brunch too, the Huckleberry is my favorite. read more

Although it does have a bit of a chain feel, it is an overall charming spot to have a drink and desert, a mid-day lunch rotating lunch special, or a classy dinner night out by the fountain on the patio. Their signature martini bases include gin, vodka, and rum of various infusions. You may want to sample the house-infused habenero vodka before committing to a full martini of the tasty, fiery stuff. I was really excited to go to this restaurant because the location is really cool, being so high up and you can sit and look out the massive windows below. When I went with my son, the host was very short with us and rude. Our server wasn't friendly either, acting like we were a bit of an inconvenience. The food was just ok. We got the brussel sprout appetizer, and it was bland and not very well executed. Then we shared a Margherita pizza, which was pretty good. I split an appetizer with three people, the beef. It was nicely flavored, but a bit on the dry side. I probably would have preferred the beef to be more tender than it was, perhaps it was a bit over cooked? The cheese sauce that the beef came with was quite heavenly though, and definitely compensated partially for the other parts of the dish that were lacking. I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich, despite wanting the ahi tuna steak entree, mostly for the price. I think I would probably have enjoyed the steak more, but the sandwich exceeded my expectations, as I didn't expect the curry sauce to taste very good with the tuna. Instead, I definitely wished that there had been more sauce! It made the whole sandwich so much more enjoyable, and the fact that there was only a tiny bit of sauce was actually really disappointing. For dessert I split the cookie, which was definitely the best part of my meal. The cookie was warm and gooey, and paired perfectly with the whipped cream and ice cream. Came in for lunch and a beverage at a non busy weekday afternoon, South hill location, wanted to sit out side, the server gave us a table option with a broken umbrella stuck open 1/4 of the way up held up with knives and forks, said, no, so tried to move us next to a table that was over taken with strollers and baby seats, couldn't of squeezed in there if we tried, said no again so offered to clear a dirty table for us but didn't wipe it down, waited for a good 10 minutes without a acknowledgment from the server. No water, no I'll be right with you, waited for another 5 minutes looking around at the dead flower baskets hanging everywhere from last year, and decided to leave. Won't be back. My wife and I attended a group function here recently, I don't want to critique the visit too harshly due to a possibly different experience based off the amount of people present there that night. The venue itself is pretty presentable, kind of in a weird limbo of not quite themed to much of a set decor but also not nearly as modern as other restaurants. We both ordered burgers off the menu, I expected a bit more from both if I could be honest. The portion sizes of each meal were pretty decent. When it came to preparation and the way each patty was cooked, I think you can expect a better burger from Red Robin and could expect to save more money. I'm not in the business of pushing for people to go to major chains or corporations, but I would say paying for a martini bar experience should have a kind of food experience to match. Their fries are tasty and are unique with basil added in the seasoning. Overall, a good experience just not enough for the 5 star review. PS the awkward cube TV in the group area we were seated in needs to go because it instantly dates that section of the restaurant to 2001. read more

Some of it was not warm. Saw our waitress when she delivered drinks, gave us our ticket and processed it. Many empty tables. Bar staff was very busy chatting with other staff. Done going there. We were at the Windermere Twigs. I want to first say, that our server Amanda was good, efficient and took good care of us. That's probably why this place is even getting the three stars. Everything else, not so great. I ordered the PENNE POMODORO. There were no capers or fresh basil in this dish as stated. It basically tasted like they stuck tomato sauce in and sent it on its way. It was maybe worth 12.00. Certainly not worth the 17.00 that they charged. Bathroom was not clean, garbage was overflowing and you could tel it hadn't been cleaned in a while. This was for a birthday party and we were never told that we'd be charged 15.00 to bring a cake in. It was a vegan cake so we had to bring one in as they didn't offer vegan desserts and the person we were celebrating is vegan. A heads up on the 15.00 service charge would have been nice since we did tell them that we'd be bringing a cake in ahead of time. You'd think that since this was a martini bar they'd know how to make a dirty martini which they never did get right. I ordered two of them. The decor in this place was nicely done, tasteful and the parking is a good setup. Convenient. read more

I came in for a to go order and a quick beer. They have two TV's, neither one was turned on. The bartender looked like she just got done on a bender of some sort, she could hardly walk. 28 minutes for a steak salad and there couldn't have been more than 25 people in the place. Sad servers walking around, just a sad environment to say the least. Everybody waiting at the expo station like it was a Friday night in New Years Eve. This was our first visit to Twigs and had high hopes for it. Unfortunately our experience was less than stellar, more average than I would have liked for the price. My wife got the fish and fries and the fish was extremely over fried and she didn't finish it. I went with the Under The Sun pizza and the crust was underdone and doughy in the middle. The service was extremely slow, but on the plus side, once we were finally able to order, the food came quite quickly after that. If you are going solely for the atmosphere, it is fine, but if you want a positive dining experience, you may find Twigs lackluster like we did. read more

Haven't been to a twigs in quite a while but they used to be one of my favorite places. I used to have an office this one and really enjoyed coming here. So far I've been to this specific Twigs restaurant one more time before and the only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because both visits the service was slower than I would have liked it. On the positive end they do have many top quality factors that will make me come back in for sure! Both visits there was no wait at all to be seated but it took a pretty long time to get refills on water, our check, and we had to get up and seek out a waiter in the restaurant to get To-Go boxes after we waited a long time. Which disappointed me and took away from my overall experience with their customer service. Both visits were consistent in their delicious food and our server was really friendly, despite the lag in service. I loved how she anticipated our want to split our Shrimp Carbonara after ordering 2 appetizers and her quick reliable response to questions we had about the menu. My favorite dessert to get is the Drunken Donuts! It came fresh and warm with a crisp outer layer and sweet sugary powder. They give you 3 delicious sauces to dunk them in and once you bite into it the fluffy sugary donut practically feels like it's melting in your mouth:D read more

Me and my fiance came down to celebrate our recent engagement, unfortunately the staff here is unable to properly check IDs of people of color. My 28 year old boyfriend who is native had his ID checked by not one but 3 sperate employees including the manager Angie who said, "that's not you because you are not that dark." We sat down in the middle of February, and his ID photo was taken in the summer. Hannah who was training our sever much like her manger has a problem understanding how People of Color skin complexions change from season to season. In 2021, I wouldn't imagine I had to deal with this blatant racism and ignorance. There is no reason why a sever shouldn't understand how to properly serve all their patrons regardless of skin color. This location needs training in cultural competence, and Angie needs to fired asap. This is totally unacceptable and I urge everyone to support local businesses instead of this racist chain restaurant. Ps much like the service the drinks left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

My husband had a ribeye steak that was 1/3 gristle and fat. He was not even 1/2 way through when our server asked if we wanted dessert. The bill was delivered shortly after. We met in-laws visiting from out of state here (their choice), and I'm happy to say they had a wonderful time. That's what matters to me. Food and service were fine on a very busy Thursday night. Our server was very knowledgeable, and recommended great wines to pair with everyone's meal--and a nice local IPA for my burger. Only lament would be our current wildfire, smokey air quality, because we refrained from enjoying the patio. One of my fave places to eat in Spokane! Yes it's on the pricer side, for those who tend to eat at more pub style or casual dining. Twigs is a little more high end but can be casual or dressy depending on your mood. It's kid friendly. We have consistently had good service. I've tried many things on their menu. One of my faves is the Moroccan beef. The truffle pene is also very good. They have great unique cocktails. I love the ambiance inside, plus they have nice seating on their outdoor patio. We spent $100 to get a few items for takeout. I was absolutely appalled at how small the servings were for $30 entrees. My daughter got the beef bulgolgi bowl and it came with the smallest scoop of rice possible. You can buy 15lbs of rice for less than $20. A small cup of meat and a small cup of pickled vegetables. What a joke! My chicken came dry and with a very small scoop of mashed potatoes. I called the manager and she said there was nothing she could do about it and that corporate makes the decisions. Terrible food. I've been in here probably 10 times and never have I had a good meal. Not to mention I'm spending so much money on what looks like it should be fine dining. I wish I took a photo of my pork belly "special" this weekend. It was the thinnest grossest tasteless piece of pork belly I had ever tasted. My (90 yo) grandma likes the Caesar with shrimp though.
