I am happy for ours to order something of the provided menu. However, Twist offered to make buttered noodles and both kids went for that. The menu changes, but during our visit (December 2024), my husband and I split the Almond Crusted Seared Ruby Red Trout. It was so good. Good service and knowledgeable server who offered good advice. It was busy and staff were a little stretched on an August Saturday night, but she did well. Two of us were vegetarian and have found Breck challenging for restaurant dinners. Here we had one excellent (gnocchi) and one decent (bruschetta) appetizer, but entree options were few (one) and the food was good but underwhelming, especially, I think, for the price. Despite fierce culinary competition in this amazing ski town, Twist offers creative cuisine in the perfect walkable location near all the downtown action. Twist is inside a renovated old two story home with much of the homey feeling kept in the design. The downstairs bar is a great place to start. Any mixologist would be proud of the inspiring fresh ingredient drink menu. Although we chose some boring old standbys, we watched the friendly bartender create some appealing concoctions. The appetizer and dinner selections were varied and made choosing just a few difficult. We started with the two highlights of the night....a potato habanero soup that was creamy, flavorful, with just enough of a hint of heat. The second dish was a special called Pani Puri and boy was it 'special'. They are little round crisp pockets of finally chopped avocado, shrimp, corn, cilantro, and mint sitting on a swirl of edamame hummus. They come with a tiny glass of tamarind water that you pour into the open hole in the top before popping the entire magical bite into your mouth. The entrees of Crispy Supreme Chicken and Mahi Mahi Koi Soi were also memorable. Both had interesting 'Twists' in both texture and flavors This place has exceptional service, ambiance, and food. Great wine selection. Menu very interesting, however they need to update their online menu. Red pepper lobster bisque was very good, pork wing, excellent, lamb chops was the highlight, along with Elk Carpaccio. To finish it all off with a bang, White Russian cheesecake with Oreo crust, chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries. One of the best desserts I have ever had. This place is a gem. We travel to Breckinridge multiple times per year and find ourselves in the same routine. We decided to try something new. Twist is now one of our favorite restaurants in Summit County! The evening started with fabulous service provided by Micah and Keith followed up by delicious Lobster Pumpkin Soup as a starter....yes you read that right, lobster pumpkin. Fabulous!!! Our entrees were Mahi Mahi and the Buffalo Filet. The asparagus was perfection and the Mahi Mahi was some of the best we have ever had. I was in Breckenridge recently on a trip and stopped by for dinner. The sign outside describes itself as "creative cuisine" and both the ambiance inside and the cuisine on the plate stays true to those words. The converted house felt like I was dining at the home of a friend with good taste in decor. We started with some of the House Fries and WOW. I am a fan when fries are dressed with toppings and these fries came loaded for bear. The aioli-tartar sauce really locked it in for me as a winning starter dish. I went with one of the specials: an Elk T-Bone steak: unlike other "wild" cuts of meat I've had, it wasn't gamey but very well spiced with a great beefy profile. I am not normally a fan of mashed potatoes but the side that came with this dish was amazingly light, rich, and fluffy. It converted a doubter like me. In Breck, there's only so many places you can dine out yet as you walk the streets you may not know which storefront to choose. I'll tell you that if you walk by Twist, you can walk in confident that you'll enjoy a good meal. read more

Had visited this fine dining restaurant on my birthday and am so glad I did. The hostess, my waitress, Emma, all the staff gave me such a warm welcome and were ensured I was well taken care of. Had ordered pork wings an an appetizer, a lamb shank and couscous dish as my entree and a ginger peach tart for dessert. The lamb shank was very tender ginger peach tart very delish and was nice to try something new with the pork wings which were tender as well but didn't quite care for the sauce. One block off the main road in Breckinridge is a great little place that doesn't seem to be a secret to those who celebrate unique food and excellent service. The upstairs is beautiful, the bar is lively, and the outside patios provide great views. The menu offers local fare like elk and trout, but also Asian-inspired dishes and maybe the best salad I've ever had. Reservations are encouraged. read more

Food was over price for it was. Service is good, Staff was excellent and friendly. But still Felt like I overpaid paid for mediocre food.

Charlie was our server and he was great with recommendations on the menu and drinks. We had the elk t bone and trout. I was worried if the elk would be too gamey but it wasn't. The tenderloin side was very tender as expected. We also enjoyed the trout with almond crust with pesto. When it came to dessert we couldn't decide between chocolate flourless cake and the bourbon apple churro and the marscapone cheesecake. So we got all 3 and all were great. This place is SO fun! I came here with my in-laws during a weekend in Breckenridge, and it was such an amazing meal! The menu is eclectic - there doesn't seem to be a regional/cuisine theme to it. They're really just all about creative & good food! We tried like 4 different appetizers and 3-4 entrees - everything was delicious! And honestly, after a long day of skiing, what a way to hit the spot! This was a super fun way to spend the evening & a great way to try lots of different dishes. The staff at Twist was friendly, fast and offered great tips on the menu. The Venison carpaccio was fantastic, garden salad with goat cheese was crisp and delicious. The trout was prepared very nice with purées, vegetables and potatoes. My only disappointment was it was slightly overcooked and took away from the flavors. Would have been killer if it was the right temp and came out off the fire a few mins sooner. They have heat warmers out on the patio if you're always cold like me and everyone is willing to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The service was great. I had the Crab Cake Sliders as my meal and loved them. We ordered the baked macaroni and cheese which was delicious. We also ordered the fries to share- they were okay, not a must have but not bad. My BF had the elk tenderloin and enjoyed it. Pricing on the wine seemed a little high- we still went with a red blend, Machete. For desert, we ordered a chocolate peanut butter option. Exactly what the name denotes . . . a TWIST on classics. Came here for their dynamite happy hour specials, and was not disappointed. The absolute BEST thing you can order on this menu is the Pork n Love. A spicy (Korean style) BBQ pork over a bed of rice. Absolutely scrumptious. We ended up ordering another order of this "to go". They also nailed the bahn mi sliders - so good. Lobster roll was very good (but not the best I've had). The house French fries were loaded with interesting things . . . dry aged beef snow . . not sure what that was but seemed to be a feathery type of cheese. Absolutely delicious. No matter what you order during HH, you can't go wrong. Apps are $5 off, and sides are $3 off. For drinks, they offer $6 cocktails and beer & wine at reduced price. Be sure you ask what the coattail of the day is . . . mine was a pomegranate margarita which was to die for . . had real pom juice, not syrup. We found Twist at the last minute and decided to give it a try. The five of us concluded that there wasn't a bad meal amongst us. In fact, everyone thought the food was outstanding. Each item had a little nugget of surprise. My celery root parsnip puree was my favorite thing on the table. They say they are a mom and pop shop and appreciate the support. The drinks were VERY good we had Manhattan/Old Fashioned/Aperol spritz professionals at the table (Luxardo cherries anyone?) and everyone was very impressed with the execution of their versions here. Dinner was good - I got the Cesar salad to start and was disappointed because I had order a big one because side salad options don't exist here - so even though I wasted half of it, it was a GREAT salad. I got the scallops for dinner - which were wonderful - however the side choices were a bit strange and the cauliflower was so burnt it was inedible. Everyone else was very happy with their dinner (unless they had cauliflower as a side) and overall very yummy.
