We found Twist at the last minute and decided to give it a try. The five of us concluded that there wasn't a bad meal amongst us. In fact, everyone thought the food was outstanding. Each item had a little nugget of surprise. My celery root parsnip puree was my favorite thing on the table. They say they are a mom and pop shop and appreciate the support. Summer salad was also yummy but I felt portion size was on the small side 3. Not a fan of their mac-n-cheese - the flavors didn't do it for me Twist has a very good wine list and lots of options and I happily ordered a bottle of the J Vineyards Rose for a fun, summer dinner in the warm Rockies. Great food, and great service. I'm in town with my two sons for the week and have chosen a different restaurant every night. Twist did not disappoint. Great energy inside with great views. The staff at Twist was friendly, fast and offered great tips on the menu. The Venison carpaccio was fantastic, garden salad with goat cheese was crisp and delicious. The trout was prepared very nice with purées, vegetables and potatoes. My only disappointment was it was slightly overcooked and took away from the flavors. Would have been killer if it was the right temp and came out off the fire a few mins sooner. After a late lunch in Breckenridge, we decided we'd forego dinner and find a place to do happy hour and 5 of us share a bunch of apps. We decided on Twist because their website said their Happy Hour was from 4-6 pm We arrived at Twist at 5:15 p.m. This was a Wed. night and they were not running a wait. Only 50% or less of their tables were seated. We were asked to wait about 10 minutes (why?) then taken upstairs to a large table. There were maybe 3 other tables seated up there. Our waiter came to the table about 2-3 minutes later and when we asked for their Happy Hour menu he said it was over. We asked what time it was over and he said 5:30. I looked at my watch and it was EXACTLY 5:30 on the dot (mind you we had now been there 15 minutes "waiting" for our table, which we now think was intentional so they would have the delight of telling us that happy hour had ended) We told him we chose Twist because it said happy hour was until 6pm. He asked where it said that. So we looked it up and it was right on their website, which we showed to the waiter (see attached screenshot with current date!) His pathetic response was that he would go and ask but they are "pretty strict about ending it on time." Are you kidding!?? When the waiter returned he said the management would not bend the rules and Happy Hour WAS OVER. He said they had changed the happy hour to end earlier but "google must not have updated the website yet" IT'S NOT GOOGLE IT'S YOUR OWN WEBSITE! Honor it! So we left! Congratulations! You lost a table of 5 people who were excited to try your restaurant because you could not honor what your website says! You put a bad TWIST on hospitality and customer service and most likely will not stay in business much longer with a company culture like that! We would obviously never return! We began with the lamb chops, and moved onto entrees of the crispy supreme chicken & shrimp njuda. The chicken was stuffed with a generous portion of chorizo, served over a thought provoking serving of crispy polenta. The shrimp was served over a generous portion of squid ink linguine, each bite better than the last. Our server Keith was well educated on the menu and wine pairings, and a very friendly part of our experience. Don't take his recommendations lightly! They are excellent! The food was just not that good. My son had a $70 prime ribeye steak, ordered medium rate that was still cold in the middle with no sign of pink anywhere. A scoop of mashed potatoes and two asparagus spears. Daughter had short rib, which was fine, but for $50 it should be better than what I can make at home and this was not. I had the trout which was good but had the odd addition of pesto on top. Her short rib had a gremolata on top that tasted a little like lemon and I cannot imagine who thought that was a good idea. The only dessert we got, described as a "churro crumble" seemed like some kind of breakfast cereal with some apple and a scoop of ice cream. This place is fantastic! The duck prosciutto on the meat & cheese board was absolutely incredible. The venison carpaccio will melt in your mouth. We ordered the elk tbone on special, very impressed. Wednesday September 29th we stopped in to sit on the patio with our dog and have drinks during the day. We were the only guests in the entire restaurant. The female hostess (older lady) told us that they do not allow for self seating. She said "we are not that kind of place and we don't do that here." Extremely rude and abrasive giving us dirty looks. However, the waiter named Leland was fantastic. We were going to eat here, but decided not to spend our money on the food due to the rude first meeting and rather tip the fantastic waiter generously. They say Twist offers one of the best happy hours in Breck, and we are now inclined to agree. The restaurant provided a special menu of libations for the early diners, including a bartender's choice. My Sweetie pronounced it delicious (and she generally dislikes cocktails). I opted for the Old Fashioned, and was likewise pleased. But Son decided to venture off the special menu and ordered a Smoked Old Fashioned... which, to our surprise, comes with a floor show: the server sets a hickory plank on fire, then smothers the flame with the serving glass...before pouring the cocktail ingredients into the residual haze. Son pronounced it the best Old Fashioned he'd ever tasted...and after sampling his drink, I'm inclined to agree. But the main attraction, truthfully, is the food. Sweetie ordered the bison tenderloin, I had the smoked pork chop, and Son opted for trout. All three entrees were delectable...the perfect way to savor our final evening in Breckinridge! read more

Got the Mac N Cheese - very basic (I do not feel like it was amazing as other reviews stated) def could make at home. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the fantastic Rick behind the bar, which prompted us to take a seat at the bar for the evening. We had a few martinis and dinner. I highly recommend the lemon ginger martini. Rick was telling us how he makes a homemade ginger mixer that goes in it. Hubby had the smoked pork chop for dinner and I had crab cakes and salad. We started with their soup of the soup of the day - carrot ginger and shrimp which sounds odd but surprisingly delicious. Duck wings app was unfortunately overseasoned and salty and hard to appreciate the duck. The House French fries was a hit with cheese curds and dusting of bone marrow snow. We had to make reservations and even 3 days in advance we were only able to secure a 4pm slot... however it was nice to be the only ones in there for a bit. We had the mussels that were absolutely fabulous, the Buffalo Filet was good, but we ordered it medium rare and it came more medium, still delicious! I ordered the Trout which was also very tastey, I wished the potatoes under were more cut up instead of huge chunks of potato. The hostess then called me back on my cell phone and let me know what they had a table open up near the bar last minute - that was unexpected and she went above and beyond!
