I was craving something healthy and light. I've never noticed this restaurant but glad I did and can't wait to try new opportunities. I'm not sure the name of the sandwich I ordered but you can see in photos it was pesto, cheese, lettuce and tomato. It was very light; almost didn't have too much flavor. I understand it's healthy but I expected a little too much. The cashier was sweet and brought my food quickly. The style in there is super nice and relaxing. Almost feels high end while you sit. Their pastries looked delicious and I heard they are made in house daily. But I ordered the 2eggs, 2 bacon, 2 toast, and hash browns which were a big disappointment. The eggs were very runny and the bacon was overcooked, dry and old looking. The toast and hash browns were pretty good but couldn't make up for the main protein. And it came to $15! It's a really welcome arrival to the food desert that is this office park. The food is fresh and the employees friendly. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich and fried chicken sandwiches are great! It was my first time here and I was really excited to find a relatively affordable spot for lunch, but was sadly let down. This place has so much potential, but just hit the mark in every item we got. The chicken is so dry and has no flavor. The sandwiches need a lot more sauce to help out with the chicken dryness. In my never ending quest for the perfect banh mi, I had to check this spot. I must say, overall pretty impressive. The interesting TWIST was the pretzel bun. Freshly baked, soft & chewy. A nice presentation with juicy chicken breast, chopped pickled veggies & surprisingly mild / barely spicy sliced jalapeños. I suspect seeds removed/reduced. The sriracha Mayo was on the super mild side, very light. I felt the pickled carrots & daikon we not pickled for very long / didn't have a strong pickled flavor. The sesame & ginger on the chicken were barely detectable, but the perfectly juicy layers were fantastic. Thinly sliced cucumbers added a nice bit of depth to the densely packed sandwich. All in, I felt the sandwich was tasty but lacked a certain level of bite, funk & spice that I'm accustomed to on a banh mi. 4 stars. read more

My company recently ordered catered box lunches from Twist. I chose the turkey sandwich with brie which included a mixed salad and a cookie. My coworker selected the BLTA sandwich, mixed greens and a cookie. We swapped 1/2 of our sandwiches so that we could try both since neither of us had ever eaten this restaurant's food. We wanted to sample. Sadly, both sandwiches were extremely dry. The bread on the turkey sandwich was very heavy and dry, overwhelming the flavor of the rest of the sandwich. There was very little condiment (I think it was a cranberry sauce?). Having had more would have helped counter balance the dry bread and add some flavor. Overall the sandwich was very bland in flavor. I was initially really excited for this flavor combination, but was so underwhelmed, I only ate 1/2 of my half sandwich portion. The mixed green salad is just that-- mixed green salad mix, some carrots and dressing. Uninspiring. My co-worker and I discussed that it would have been nice to have had some tomatoes, cucumber, croutons-- something, ANYTHING ELSE to help make this salad more interesting. I'm not a huge lover of sweets but the sugar cookie was perhaps the best part of this boxed lunch. The BLTA was on a different bread and had more ingredients to create flavor interest. Could have used more mayo (as Im not entire sure there even was any) but otherwise the sandwich was not bad. Would I ever elect to have Twist cater for my business again? Friends and I were in town for a show at the Forum and woke up the next day looking for a delicious, chill brunch spot. Twist was exactly what we wanted! Perfect service, perfect outdoor little tables to watch passersby, and gorgeous view of the ocean down the hill. The food was absolutely incredible, more importantly. Not happy with the service at all. Ordered a green and a red smoothie to-go for my friend. The server/cashier/face of the establishment along with the barista were not professional chatting the whole time when I was making my order and payment. They kept getting back to their chitty chat.. My friend (on the phone) asked to add almond milk to her red smoothie and I asked that same server to add almond milk to the red smoothie. She appeared annoyed as I'm cutting her off from her chitty chat. She probably was having a good intention suggesting the almond milk wouldn't taste good with the Red (beets and carrots) smoothie but the way she said it baffled me. She clearly didn't want to make any effort to get it done adding milk. In her words: "it will taste NASTY". Not professional for a server to say that we have a nasty taste mixing beets/carrots with almond milk. Other disappointing fact: both smoothies were tasteless and seemed to be filled with a lot of ice! 1/4 left of my green smoothie and it was only crushed ice and fiber from the vegetables (see photo). read more

It is a little pricey - came to just under $17. for a relatively small sandwich (which included a small salad on the same plate) and orange juice. Had the Bahn Mi Sandwich (sesame ginger chicken, pickled carrots and daikon, jalapeño, cucumber, cilantro, Sriracha mayo, pretzel bun) which comes with their house kale based salad. Cute cafe on La Brea. It doesn't seem like the area gets too busy during lunch so was able to find metered parking right in front. I ordered the Organic Grilled Chicken pressed sandwich. For all of the ingredients in there, it was pretty bland. The chicken could definitely use salt and I wish I could taste the onion jam more. I love that they have a bottle balsamic vinegar because that saved the sandwich. The side salad was also DROWNING in oil. I had to mop it up with 3 napkins and still couldn't bring myself to finish it. It was OK and I'd be open to coming back. Ask for the dressing on the side. read more

My go to order is the Biscuit Sandwich (4 stars). It comes with cheese, crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, and a delicious biscuit. As for the sides, I prefer the Kale Slaw (4 stars) over the potatoes (3 stars). My husband liked the Croque Madame, which is served on a biscuit. It is only offered on the weekends on their Biscuit Bar Menu. They have Blue Bottle Coffee, and we liked the Iced Mocha (4 stars). Service (4 stars) is great. Our coffees came out first, and then our biscuit dishes shortly after. It's a nice spot to have coffee and breakfast without the crowds. It's located on La Brea, and you may not notice it right away. So I came here by default last Sunday. The restaurant across the street was crowded and my dad didn't want to wait. My family and I came to appease him. I was pleasantly surprised. Oh and for a small up charge I added avocado to that. Super nutritious. Super healthy. Superquick. Super friendly. Just a super spot for a super meal. Breakfast, lunch, brunch and they're open late except for weekends they are only open until 4 PM Saturday and Sunday. Open seven days though! I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They take Apple Pay which is a plus! Parking can be somewhat challenging but are usually walk here from one of the other wonderful sites in the neighborhood. read more

It's not an All-American Breakfast. It's the All A-Mel-ican Breakfast. Their eggs were cooked to perfection, bacon was crispy not burnt, and the breast was flavorful. Their catered sandwiches looked good, but geez - you guys, come on. If you're thinking about catering from them, you may want to consider ordering a better salad. For $127, I would expect some tomatoes, some carrots, some croutons - SOMETHING. It was when i was halfway through the food i started feeling queasy.Thinking nothing of it i continued to eat...however minutes later my stomach started to ache.
