My husband and I recently moved to the area & were anxious to find places to call "Our spot". Twisted Oak just may be it! The staff is super friendly & attentive. The food is good& beer offerings are better than most. When we encountered a slight problem with my order, not only did our waitress apologize (along with the manager and hostess!) but she comped the meal as well as our dessert! It was my 3rd time at Twisted Oak today and I enjoyed it so much my first two times I decided it would be a great place to have my birthday dinner at. My mom, husband and I were waited on by Emily and my mom and I ordered the Mercia burgers, lettuce wrapped. I asked for mine well done & with raw onions. When the food came out, our burgers were on buns. Before even tasting it I had them sent back to be lettuce wrapped. When the food came back, I had no onions on my plate & my burger was cooked medium if that. I sent my burger back for the second time to have it cooked the way I asked and when it came back it tasted like absolute shit. When Emily finally came around (I had to flag her down previously or get the bus boy involved), she asked if they could make it again. I told her to just take it off the bill, I couldn't keep waiting. By that time I was already eating the sweet potato fries bc I was starving & I was over waiting for my burger for a 3rd time. Additionally, my family was already finished eating. The icing on the cake was when the bus boy came and pretty much dropped a Tres Leches slice of cake on our table which was supposed to be my birthday cake with a candle. Emily was nowhere to be found. My husband had to ask the bus boy for a candle in front of me, ruining his surprise. Needless to say he never brought us a candle. By far the worst birthday dinner ever. To add to the above, last night I had the worst stomach pain, in and out of the restroom all night. Feels like I have food poisoning. I wish I could give it 0 stars. The owner/manager PUSHED me!! He's lucky I didn't call the cops!! The guy was upset that too many showed up in our party (covid resurrections). I totally get it, and I was very polite in asking him what I could do in separating the party to accommodate his requests and he totally lost it, pushed me in the shoulder and walked off then tried apologizing to me before I walked out of his terrible establishment. Excellent beer, Roger & crew know how to brew! The mac and cheese bites are freakin awesome as well. We sat on the tree shaded patio with our dog. Nice ambiance, kinda reminds me of Europe . It was nice to see a dog friendly place again in these crazy times. They brought out some water for for my dog which was super cool . Ordered a few more beers and Had the Smokey joe burger which was fantastic . My girlfriend had some kind of chicken salad which she really enjoyed. The folks running the joint are really friendly and they are quick if you need a brew refill! Really enjoyed my visit, Glad to have em here in the hood! Welcome Twisted Oak! Cheers! read more

I tried to have dinner yesterday with my family there host was nice and polite and the server as well. When I seated at my table I noticed I was next to some cleaning supplies such as lime away and a table full of tools. Also the Sodas were flat as well when I mention this seems the manager was upset. All the managers cared about was the food that was in the kitchen that was going to be delivered to my table. Didn't even give me the chance to ask for a new table. He also didn't want to make it right or ask if we wanted to move tables. His response was yes could just leave. His own words just get up and get out of here. Just left. Food was a B. Staff was friendly but either understaffed or slow. Chicken and waffle bites. Overall good. Kale wasn't fried but boiled. Maple butter sauce was broken. Chicken au ju was salty. The fried chicken had a nice crisp. Pretzel came with a mustard sauce and maple butter, pretty sure that was a mistake. Asked for cheese sauce which was congealed and clearly premade. Ruben sandwich was fantastic. Fries were delicious. Burger was good. Tripel beer was very tasty. Not sure if the head chef had the night off but the food seemed to miss the mark, except for the Ruben. read more

We tried this place for the first time today. What a delightful surprise. We ordered the short rib nachos. Those were so yummy! Fir our entrees, we ordered the Teriyaki burger & the Twisted Oak Burger. Both were very delicious & an ample amount of fries. Wonderful service, especially with the Manager coming & checking on us. This place is nothing to write home about. I ordered a Moscow mule. I watched the bartender put half soda water in the cup. (No, it wasn't ginger beer, because I saw her pour that from a bottle.) It was honestly one of the worst drinks I've had. So if you're going to order a drink get a beer. Our server was nice and approachable. She check up on us frequently. The food was okay.The Flautas were just ok and I didn't care for the Buffalo cauliflower. The loaded fries and Brussels sprouts were amazing. Such a cute patio set up and was able to get in for a great Friday evening dinner with a friend - the Buffalo cauliflower appetizer is to die for!! The salmon and the Waldorf salad made for a nice treat at this new stop and grateful for the little bit of normal!! Huge indoor area - but has a 'secret' back patio Pub area that's quite intimate, a cute spot for private parties. We first came across them at the Casa Pacifica Food & Wine Festival at CSUCI and their PORK BELLIES were addicting. The original is from Agoura, but so excited they've added a spot in Old Downtown Camarillo. Nice vibes and it definitely had a "Tavern" feel in the back patio. read more

It's nice to get this place in Old Town. I'd have to say that the food and drinks were outstanding and we plan on returning. The only downside us that they were playing punk rock music that threw the while vibe off. Doesn't seem like a punk rock joint. Doesn't make it very family friendly. But loved everything else. My wife and I stopped by to get a drink and some food, and we were very happy we did. The beers were great and the food is excellent. We had the Mac 'n' Cheese Balls, the Buffalo Cauliflower and the Sausage Flatbread Pizza. (Sorry, I forgot to take pictures) All the food items were delicious. Went to the Twisted Oak Tavern for drinks and appetizers during their happy hour. Ordered one of their special pizzas which had cheese tomatoes and fresh basil and it was absolutely delicious. Our waitress Sydney was extremely welcoming efficient and professional and very very pleasant. I definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be going back. Had some time to kill while my daughter got her hair cut so I walked down to this little gem for a light lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere has that California casual feel yet intimate at the same time. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating of my wanting to sit outside and gladly relocated an umbrella so I wasn't completely in the sun. My server was prompt, friendly and provided a great suggestion for a light lager to have with my salad. My salad was quite tasty and my server was perfectly attentive checking in on me without being too "checky" if that makes sense. I didn't feel rushed at all and was allowed to enjoy a delicious leisurely lunch. I definitely recommend stopping in and giving this place a try. OMG this place is amazing! The burgers were spot on! I got the Ol' Smokey Joe! It was not too sweet and the patty was amazing! And perfectly cooked! The Twisted Oak brews are also amazing! We had the Honey Im Home and the Thirst Mutilator. The outdoor dining is well spaced out as well :) the indoor area look perfect and really fits the theme, we will definitely come back when the indoor is available!. My wife and I stopped in at the Twisted Oak Tavern in Camarillo last night. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and the building was uncomfortably cold. We kept it simple and ordered drinks and burgers. The service was ok but the food was mediocre at best. My wife has thrown out better lettuce and tomatoes. Five Guys and In N Out is far superior and Bandit's further up on Ventura Blvd. has always been good. When the waitress brought our bill back my credit card was missing! I may have overacted but in today's world I was immediately suspicious with all the scams you hear about. After searching to see if my card had dropped out of the folder my card supposedly was found stuck in the machine. I can't recommend this establishment based on this experience and the issues I encountered. read more

There service alright and there food was ok but I didn't get my food the way I ordered it. No avocado, pickles that I didn't want. The outdoor seating was clever and and actually pretty cool but it was in the back which was a little smelly. There house beer was great and honestly ill probably go back just for that when the bar opens. Other wise I cant really recommend it right now.
