Tried this place a few times for lunch. Always surprised at how small the meat portions were for the brisket , pulled pork, pulled chicken etc. and they only give one side. Used to BBQ places that pile on the main course , 2 sides (at least) and a platter that looks full. This was way overpriced and will not be coming back. read more

No table service (felt sort of cafeteria like) but the food was delicious. They did say they were going to have table service in the future. Food is served directly on a tray... not a plate. Utensils are plastic and tables are picnic tables. So overall pretty low key but again the food was great! read more

Honestly some of the best bbq I've had in the area. Super cute/kiddish any side. Gives backyard vibez. You walk up and grab your drink first and they had my favorite beer on tap so automatic plus there. Then you order the sides. We tried the coleslaw which I really liked. Hubby couldn't eat it though cause it had nuts and apples. Then we got the Mac n cheese which was sooooo gooey. Nice bread crumbs on top. We also tried the street corn which was good. For meats we tried the brisket which was good (I just be not think I'm a big brisket girl) and the ribs. The ribs were awesome. They had a raise variety of bbq sauces as well. I enjoyed the spicer ones. Lastly had to try the banana pudding and I was delicious. The pudding was so rich and creamy. Overall awesome new addition to the Downtown Lakewood Ranch area. The Brisket is amazing! This is moist and juicy pull apart Brisket that is fork tender. The Smoked Turkey is mild on the smoke but great with the Alabama White Sauce. The Cucumber Pineapple Salad was sweet and tart with a refreshing crunch. Barracho Beans were a twist and better than boring bbq beans. Service was friendly and helpful. We've been to the new BBQ spot in town twice now, and both visits were fantastic. We tried the pulled pork, turkey, mac 'n cheese (worth all the calories), and potato salad. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. On our second visit, we added brisket to our order, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat is so well-seasoned and tender that you don't even need BBQ sauce (though it's a great option if you want it). The staff are super friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. You can tell they care about their guests. The only small hiccup is that the ordering flow when you walk in isn't super intuitive just yet on where to go and how to order but it's a new spot, and they're clearly still getting things smoothed out. My dad and I stumbled upon this spot after a long day of moving. We were blown away! The food was amazing and that's saying a lot because we are very picky. Everything was so delicious! We had turkey, ribs, and brisket. And for sides, we had collard greens, street corn, and potato salad. The sauces were great too, but we really didn't need them because the meat was good all by itself -- the hallmark of good BBQ. Just wonderful and flavorful... we've talked about it ever since and will definitely be back! The owner was very nice and treated us like family. We were welcomed as soon as we entered restaurant and given a quick explanation of menu and ordering since it was our first time. Staff at ordering counter, cashier and after seating were all very attentive to our needs and frequently checked on us. If people are really friendly, and they have an abundance of staff walking around and greeting you, which I think is a big waste of money. The reason I say this is because the prices are really high. They're being side was good. I had a tray with about I don't know three meat? I ordered the turkey and the sausage and the ribs and I ate the sausage and the beans and I sent the rest back. Texas style, which I did not know what that meant, which means that the ribs are not fall off the bone and they are chewy. I do not see the purpose of filling smoke meat if you cannot taste the smoke. It may be somebody else's cup of tea, but it's really expensive. They have no combo plate. You have to buy everything a la cart, and their meat portions are the smallest they can give you. I thought I'd give them a try because I like supporting new local businesses, but this was not for me, and I think mission doesn't much better job. read more

Thank you for bringing some REAL bbq to LWR! As a former Texan here to the area, I have to say I have never missed TX more than tonight but GREAT job LWR Main Street for bringing it home! First off, Candice in the bar was amazing! My drink of choice is always an old-fashioned and while they serve everything Texas style (red solo cups) she made sure that my old fashion was ice cold! For dinner my friend and I decided to split a few sides and we had the barracha beans which were amazing, the collard greens, which were a little on the spicy side, which I prefer which were delicious, the pineapple cucumber salad, which was unbelievable and the coleslaw which was memorable! I have lived in Tennessee and Texas and typically have found that it's hard to find a place that can make good barbecue, great sides ANd unforgettable sauces but this place nailed it! If you're down for good food and a relaxed environment, you're gonna love the twisted pit! The ribs were amazing, the jalapeño sausage was incredible and the lean brisket was tender and juicy! But don't forget to try all the sauces. They were all delicious!! If you're looking for a place to gather and relax as a family or as a group of friends or even a couple, this is your place! I don't know how this place is getting 5* reviews. It was AWFUL. The meats had no smoke ring nor taste of smoke. The collards had no vinegar. The mac n cheese was all dried out. The BBQ was served on paper instead of on a plate. The brisket and turkey had no flavor, but the jalapeno cheddar sausage was good. The Mexican corn was good, and staff was super friendly. No craft beer despite being owned by the craft brew pub across the street - just lame, mass produced beer. We had been looking forward to this opening for a looooooong time, but we were incredibly disappointed. How is this owned by the same people who own Percoco's? Percoco's is fantastic. This is a very different BBQ place. Very high quality, sides served in a reasonable size dish, not the thimbles that have become so common. Meat is sold by weight, except for ribs, which are available in 1/4.1/2 or full racks (when they first opened ribs were also by the pound, then somebody realized a full rack would come to more than $50 and they revised the pricing to more "normal,." Twisted Pit is a little more expensive than most other BBQ places, but the high quality of the food makes it very worth it. Service is okay -- it is mostly self serve. You go through a cafeteria style line. Bonus points for a full bar. read more
