I swear I don't know why these folks don't have more reviews because the quality and taste of their New York style pizza is beyond comprehension. If they aren't the best New York style pizza in Arlington, I would go as far as saying the best in the entire DC greater area. I've been going here my whole life and I'm 25 and my own father who's 56 has been coming here since he was a teenager in high school and I tell you l picked up a pizza from them at an extremely reasonable price and the Mom and Dad and their older son are still hard at work almost 40 years later still pushing out amazing pies I mean l'm at a loss for words and as many others have said before the sauce that they use in their pies is to die for there's no other place I would recommend if you want a great New York slice. I had to hastily leave Arlington a couple of years ago for a family matter, but I miss this place so much. The pizza is one of the best I've ever had, dripping with mozzarella and robust tomato sauce, as is the French onion soup. After the big spike in restaurant prices, at first they didn't raise prices at all, and then they raised them a tiny bit. At that time I stopped going to most of the restaurants and takeout places in Arlington, and mostly just came here (as well as a few other places) to get a real meal loaded with quality ingredients. My husband and I meet a friend here about once a week. There's only one server and that is the owner's wife. She is very nice and efficient! Not a bad place to get pizza. The staff was friendly and I got a sausage and onion pizza to go. The toppings were solid and I wish there was more sauce on the pizza. I grew up going to this place and then hadn't been back in at least 10 years. It's good to know some things never change, and they really didn't! I remember this was a place my family and I frequented because their greek food was authentic and priced well. I now live nearby again so I wanted to see how it was doing and if it was a place I should frequent again. Started off with the spanakopita app, which was crispy, deliciously warm and fulfilling. Thumbs up. I had the veal parmesan while other members of my party had the gyro sandwich and a steak and cheese sub. My veal parm was good but not great, which I was a little disappointed in. It just lacked some flavor I was looking for. The gyro sandwich looked hearty and full, a steal for $8. The meat itself looked juicy instead of dried out. I went here a couple of times several years ago with a few people from the church I had gone to in Arlington. The customer service was excellent. The family that suggested this place said that they go here 3 times per week! They loved this place, and I can see why. The customer service was top notch as was the pizza, sandwiches, & waffles. I had gone back here in Winter 2018 for a dinner break while I was doing rideshare driving. I had gotten a burger and replaced with the green beans to try to be healthier than getting fries, which nearly come with the burger. I ate it in the Safeway parking lot next door. The burger was a little less than mediocre, and the green beans were vinegary and gross. The customer service was still great, and I got my food in an efficient manner. read more

I understand the baclava is first-rate, with honey drizzled on it upon serving. No surprise from the owner-operator Greek couple! There are weeknight Greek/Italian dinner (?) specials, currently $10.75-12.75. I saw wines on display, but I didn't ask for a menu. I can't find anything easily on-line. We've only had takeout (pizza, gyros) from this place and the food is pretty good. Today we decided to try breakfast after church. The restaurant itself smells a little "stale" and could use a touch up and a good cleaning. But we expected that. My husband ordered the Tasos eggs (with gyro meat and hollandaise sauce). The dish was very tasty, if a little short on meat. The accompanying home fries, however, were barely warm. They might taste good if they were served hot. I had grits, toast and sausage. The grits were delicious - so creamy and just the right amount of seasoning. So why the two stars? 1. Slow service (took a long time to serve food) 2. cold potatoes and 3. filthy bathroom. I used the ladies room before leaving. The facility was filthy with mold growing everywhere. The smell ruined my breakfast. Never again. Two Chef's is celebrating 30 years - perhaps its time to celebrate with a renovation or at least a head to toe cleaning and painting. read more

Two Chefs Pizza has awful food and awful service. My friend and I arrived at around 7:30pm, and the restaurant was around 20% full. Despite this, it took 20 minutes for us to get our salads. It took 35 minutes for us to receive our entrees. Once we got our entrees, we weren't impressed either. The ravioli I was served appeared to be previously frozen. They also tasted very disgusting, despite a recommendation by the waiter (come to think of it, the waiter didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu). Luckily, they also gave out garlic bread. Unfortunately, we later found a strand of hair in the bread. After we finished, we had to ask four times over the span of 15 minutes to get our checks. read more

We have gone to Two Chefs for 30 years -- and the Pizza has never been our focus. The Souvlaki Platter, preferably tenderloin or the chicken, can't be beat. The Gyro platter or sandwich! WOW!!! Spanakopita, Avgolemono soup -- done right & so tasty. Pasta dishes include Moussaka, Veal or Eggplant Parmigiana. This is not a fast food place. Everything is made to order -- so it may take a bit longer to be served the entree. Grill items are faster but it may be 20 minutes on the Baked Spaghetti or Lasagna -- time to have pleasant conversation & enjoy a fresh salad that comes with the baked & other entrees. It's a great little pizza/local diner place. We're spoiled with tons of Greek diners and eateries in the NYC area. I never thought I'd find one down Wilson. I wasn't surprised when I saw local cops and older locals sitting around. Let the 25-35 y.o. Arlington crybaby crowd eat at Chipotle up the block. The Good: -On-point service and efficiency. I knew immediately that the old man (father) was from NY. Didn't need to write the order down, and we didn't need to repeat it for clarity. Born in Greece, worked in NY? Beast mode food. -Greek dishes: All good. Greek diner food kills and is always satisfying. The menu is large, as it should be. Some diners in the NY/NJ area have menus that are 10 pages long. Everything from great steak to pasta to seafood to anything you could possibly imagine. All homemade, priced right, and delicious. Yeah, the local food scene is a joke whenever I think about it. -Pizza: As good NY quality as I could find in the area to be honest. Soft, fresh crust. Sauce was not acidic, cheese was fresh. I was quite pleased. -Burger: a proper diner style burger. Not that thin, 1/4 lb. greasy TrendBurger up the street. Big, half pound on big round bun. Add fries and we call it a "cheeseburger platter" or "cheeseburger deluxe." Slightly overcooked, but totally satisfying. These guys have their act together. Born and raised in Arlington, two chefs has always been the go to place for family. The location is a few blocks away from D.C. Metro which is convenient. The only downside is the parking for the location is terrible. There's barely any parking because of the neighbor businesses. The place is a mom and pop type of restaurant. The same owner has been working in the back for so many years now and I believe his family works there too occasionally. There is Greek music playing in the background, really comfy booth style seating or table and chairs. When eating here you shouldn't expect top notch quality waiter service. But any cons with this place is made up with their amazing very quality food. For one their breakfast is amazing I've had their omelettes, breakfast platters and eggs benedict. AMAZING. Their lunch and dinner menu is also amazing their pizza is made SO good it's not oily and the crust is crunchy and their toppings are fresh. Their souvlaki and gyro is authentic and a signature plate everyone comes in for. But for my friends and I the plate I grew up eating and my favorite dish on the menu is their steak and cheese. I heard all these rantings and ravings about this pizza place. My fave pizza place is actually across the street of Two Chefs, but I'm a fair individual, so I wanted to give this place a shot. I just wanted to order a slice, but unfortunately they don't serve per slice here, so I ended up ordering a Large NY style cheese pizza to go. While I sat waiting for my order, I looked around the restuarant and I noticed that this place had a ton of greek food and design. I was under the impression the whole time that this place was pure Italian, but the baklava was a dead give away that this was also a greek spot. 20 minutes later the pipping hot pizza was ready. I bit into it and BURNT my mouth, tongue, and finger! And to top it off the pizza tasted super salty, as if they blended anchovies into the pizza sauce. I also felt finally chopped onions in the pizza sauce. Maybe this is how a greek pizza is supposed to taste like? After that experience, I think I'll stick to my pizza joint that's across the street from this place. read more

OK, I couldn't decide whether to give this place 2 stars or 4 stars. On one hand, I really want to punish the place for delivering the pizza almost 2 hours after I ordered it. On the other hand, I thought the pizza was amazing. So I will give it 3 stars. Pizza: to me, this pizza deserves 4-5 stars. I thought it was absolutely delicious, and so did the roommates. I ordered a large with mushrooms, onions and broccoli. They were very generous with the toppings and the crust was great. It was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while and one of the best in Ballston. Delivery: I live literally 3-4 blocks away from this restaurant, and somehow the driver got hopelessly lost trying to find my apartment building. He had the address right. The streets in Ballston are in ALPHABETICAL ORDER and laid out in a simple way. I just have no clue how it could be that difficult. He called me when the pizza was about an hour late and I explained the address again and the businesses nearby. Then the woman from the store called me to ask what the address was again, then the driver called again when the pizza was just over 1.5 hours late and I had to guide him step-by-step. His explanation didn't redeem him much. He explained that the numbers in my street address were "on buildings all around the area" so that confused him. OK, but when someone gives you an address the numbers come with a STREET NAME and you try to find the street name and THEN look for the numbers, dummy. I understand that people have "off" nights and make mistakes sometimes but this was really bizarre! So, Two Chefs is docked from 4 to 3 stars for the bizarre delivery problem. But the pizza was great! I'm really excited to get to my leftovers tonight. I will definitely be ordering from here again, but probably takeout next time. read more

Greek-American diner, not a real pizza place. We came here to try the french onion soup, but won't be back. We tried that soup, a Greek salad, and a pizza. Everything was unmemorable and disappointing. This is the kind of "neighborhood joint" that probably works if you know the owner and all the other customers, but otherwise has nothing going for it, given all the other options within a mile. Good grief, the best pizza place around is literally 100 feet away (Pupatellas). Even Front Page, a mile east, has better french onion soup. I guess the gyro here might be worth a second try, judging from the other Yelp reviews, but it's certainly not on my list of must-tries, given the food I already tried here. read more
