This local restaurant is located in the Sticks Complex in Midtown. The restaurant is cute and has a homey feel to it. When you first walk in, you're greeted to a board with their specials on it. You also seat yourself; we chose a booth in the very back of the restaurant. Our server was quick to get our orders. My friend got a grapefruit mimosa and I got a cup of milk. Milk and mimosas in the morning, not a bad way to start your day! Time for food orders; we ordered the Red Chick Scramble and the Sausage and Eggs (under Two Egg Breakfasts part of the menu). The wait time was relatively short and the food tasted great! I love their homemade strawberry butter that comes with your bread. It was a simple, yet quite delicious breakfast. There's a whole lot more on the menu I'd want to try so we'll definitely be back! read more

We have visited both Two Chicks locations, and we love them both. The 5851 South Virginia restaurant is a little easier to drive into, and has more parking. The Midtown Two Chicks has a little more "atmosphere", but really, both are great. They are always clean, bright and cheerful. Today we stopped for lunch and ordered breakfast! My wife ordered the 1/2 Almond French Toast with blueberry compote, with a POACHED egg, (I know, I know- WEIRD!), and I had the 2 Buttermilk pancakes combo (with 2 eggs and bacon). Both breakfasts were delicious and promptly served after ordering by their expediter. I didn't catch the expediter's name, but she was wearing one of the Two Chicks humorous t-shirts. What really stood out here was our waitress, Lindsee H. ! You will have to travel far and wide to find a nicer person with such an upbeat personality. She was SO friendly, efficient, and kind! As busy as she was, we can't say enough good things about her- she was EXCELLENT. Two Chicks should be both happy, proud, and feel fortunate to have her on their team. Very cute brunch restaurant downtown. The service was great. Loved the very hipster vibe and even the plates were egg shaped. Enjoyed the chorizo omelet while the husband had the breakfast burrito. The sourdough toast came with a strawberry butter which was unique. Prices weren't bad either. Did get confused by their "sweet potato fries" since they're not but just fried potatoes. Two Chicks was great! Stopped by here to grab some breakfast before heading to Lake Tahoe and was really glad we did! We went during the COVID pandemic and even though reservations were required, they were able to quickly accommodate us with only 10 minute notice. I had the half portion of Apple Cinnamon French Toast with eggs and sausage. It was the perfect size for me and the French toast was soooo yummy and flavorful! My friend got the two eggs and said it was aight lol. I really enjoyed their coffee and they served it in a big mug yay Service was really friendly and the overall atmosphere in here was wonderful. Really great breakfast, fantastic service, and cute atmosphere. We had the a fairly simple breakfast: one egg any style (mine was poached perfectly), one meat (I had the tasty bacon), and the french toast with berry compote on top. The French toast was incredible! It was not 'smothered' in compote either so that the flavor of the toast could shine because it was not just any old bread. They make the French toast with almond poppy seed bread. Talk about YUM! The service was fantastic. Our server was funny, efficient, and fast! Oh, and one often overlooked detail that I noticed...the bathrooms were very clean! My dad always said that the restaurants reflected the care they took in the kitchen. So i was scrambling to find a brunch spot for Valentine's Day, luckily yelp suggested two chicks. Due to the current covid mandate, reservations are required. Unfortunately you cannot make reservations online but no biggie it was just a quick phone call and we were all set in less than 2 minutes. The midtown location is pretty cool, it's in the newer developed area with tons of shops around. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but it's not a big problem. Upon entering you are immediately greeted by the hostess. The restaurant itself has a cool industrial type vibe with a open view of the kitchen area. It's a very unique layout and fun to watch everything going on. Down to the grub, I had the porkchop w/ eggs & hash browns. The wife went with the apple cinnamon French toast. Everything was amazing! Even the toast with this strawberry cinnamon butter. Everything was made fresh with locally grown ingredients. Even the coffee is from a local roaster. Two Chicks is our new favorite spot for brunch. Not a huge breakfast person, but it was really good! Went with my sister and lady where we had a few different things and they were all very tasty. Breakfast Burrito, Breakfast Tacos, and Chorizo Omelette was ordered. They do use a ton of eggs which is not my things, wish it had other fillers instead of MASS EGG. Haha.... Food was amazing! Their veggie omelet was delicious, the sweet potatoes could have been cooked slightly longer but it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered a short stack of their sourdough pancakes which were the best pancakes we've had in a long time. Their sausage and biscuits were homemade and also quite nostalgic. We were here in October for the Italian Festival. Thankfully I made a reservation as this place is hoping. So many were turned away or did not want to wait 45 min to an hour. The online reservation system did not work so I had called it in a week earlier. The place is crowded and a bit noisy- we had an inside booth which was nice as the chairs did not look comfy at all. The plates are shaped like an egg (cute). The menu had a great variety and the presentations on all dished was perfection. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the Reno area. My only complaint would be the restroom-only one, and the line was pretty long. read more

She did not answer me. I asked again. The look on her face changed and she said ok. She had an attitude. Really?? Just for a straw. She did not check on us once. Traveling for long weekend in Tahoe/Reno. Good reviews brought us here, and we always like to support local haunts. Our server Josh was very attentive. My wife had the Chili Relleno Omelet. Was very tasty, although the potatoes were tasty but a bit tepid in temp. I had the sweet potato pancakes. They fall apart as Josh aptly stated. They were good, but the soft boiled egg in the side was a little cool. I think perhaps the orders sat at Expo a bit too long. It certainly wasn't a downer experience. Decor and ambiance is superb. I had Two Chicks bookmarked for quite some time and couldn't wait to try it on my most recent trip to Reno. We stopped by on a Saturday morning, and managed to come just early enough to beat the usual brunch crowd. I was trying to be "healthy" and opted for their Two Ingredient Pancake combo. The "pancakes" were gluten and grain-free, made from sweet potatoes. They didn't hold up well and fell apart easily, but if you have dietary restrictions or are just trying to eat healthier, they provide a nice option. The combination came with eggs and either bacon or sausage. I opted for sausage and scrambled eggs. I think this place would have been a home-run if I had ordered something different and hadn't tried to be "healthy". Because let me tell you, the REAL pancakes looked amazing. read more

Positives 1st. 1: While you wait for a table (40 min wait for me ), you can go to "Side Chicks" outside which is connected to the building; great idea! 2: Staff was friendly and Management came to our table to help resolve an issue when I didn't ask for a manager; a professional way to handle business. Negatives: 1: Don't follow the pictures you see on this YELP page for food, the menu has changed drastically. Two Chicks no longer serves Churro French toast nor the Apple Cinnamon French toast; which is the reason why we went. 2: I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, my friend ordered a simple bacon, lightly cooked scrambled eggs, and pancakes. THE FOOD TOOK FOREVER. Want to know why? Someone forgot to bring the food to our table. The food was brought out cold, over cooked, and hard. Food had to be sitting at least 10-15 minutes before being brought to our table. The table next to us that was sat at the same time as us was finished with their food and paid their bill before our food was brought out. My friend asked his plate to be fixed so the restaurant replaced his sad looking bacon and overcooked eggs but gave the same cold pancakes. After requesting that the food be replaced, the manager kindly came and said he would replace our food and definitely give us a discount; I told him I was too hungry to have my plate replaced and was just going to eat it; overall from the 45 min wait to be seated to the time our food arrived to the table was a good apx 1.5 hours. For myself, Since was starving, I tried to eat my Chicken fried steak, had 3 bites of it. It was definitely cold, but not only that, it was also over cooked/ close to a black color. I mixed some of the egg and hash browns , again just a few bites, but couldn't finish this cold food. Would the food have tasted great warm and fresh, yes. In the end, the manager gave me a 75% discount off solely my plate, and a 5$ coupon to come back another time. I came firmly say I won't use my time to come back for a 5$ coupon. I left the casino to drive here for breakfast at the recommendation of a friend. read more

5-Stars for the GourMelt-Bene alone! A fantastic take on a classic breakfast adding a cheesy crunchy flavor to a dish I'm normally not a fan of (not a huge fan of the soggy English Muffin that's typically below the poached egg). Opted for the veggie fritters as my side... they were good, I'd imagine they're great if you like spinach (I'm not the biggest fan) Rest of the table got all different items off the breakfast menu; Biscuits & Gravy Combo, Pork Chop & Eggs, and the French Toast Sticks. Found this cute place on our day trip here. It was Friday at 12pm, no reservations so we had a wait time of 45minutes. Luckily we were seated inside. Masks are required until seated and food/drink arrives. We ordered Harvest omelette with home sweet potato fries. Eggs Benedict with vegetable fritters and a sourdough pancake. Bene was done perfect and the Vege fritters were so delish and not greasy. Omelette was so fluffy with chopped sausage and butternut squash pieces mixed in. That sourdough pancake has a nice dense texture super delish. Definitely bookmarked for our next visit to Reno! read more

It was just ok for me. Did a lot of research before coming to town, due to some pretty extreme food intolerances, and making the nearly 1 mile walk to get there. The kids french toast combo was by far the highlight of the meal. Very large serving and fresh great looking fruit. The 1/2 griddle combo was a similarly sized serving without the fruit. The chorizo sausage in patty form was unexpected (if that was what it really was). Coffee was good. The Butternut Squash Hot Cereal and the local fresh organic eggs were the only items on the menu that I had hopes of eating without a reaction. The Butternut Squash Hot Cereal had a mild pleasant flavor with a texture akin to baby food or pureed butternut with a hefty dash of cinnamon on top. The shredded coconut sprinkled on top was very dry, tough, and stringy. It did not add a good texture or to a good eating experience, so I found myself spitting it out, you couldn't avoid it. Maybe flaked might have worked better than shreds? They were out of the local eggs, had no idea when they might have them again at all, and weren't confident they could tell us if/when they had them if we called. Inside seating was good for us, noise level wasn't bad, service was adequate. The metal chairs at the tables are very cold if you are wearing shorts. Lol. If I could eat like a normal person, I'd probably return to give it another shot. However, I decided to hit up the Great Basin Community Co-op to get fresh local organic eggs for the rest of the trip to stop being such a drag on my family instead, so will pass. read more
