Came here for the first time on Friday night during FF. Originally was hoping to grab some food at Lovely's but the line was super long, so we put our name in at a spot up the block and then stayed for a drink. The space is gorgeous and massive with indoor, upstairs and outdoor seating options. The beer list also seemed pretty extensive - my partner ended up getting some kind of fruity beer which he really enjoyed. I generally don't drink beer but enjoyed the sip I had of his and would definitely consider trying some smaller pours of other options. Seems like a really awesome spot to bring a group, and I'm really happy to have a great new outdoor option! read more

Two Pitchers is just the cutest brewery offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Oakland is one of my favorite cities to go brewery hopping and I'm so glad I came across this place here on Yelp. They offer affordable, refreshing beers that get the job done. Food is also sold within their patio area (although I'm unsure as to whether or not a separate company provides the catering). I appreciate the way in which snacking is separated from the drinks in terms of sales--you won't find yourself waiting 10+ minutes just to order a beer! Overall, I love this place and will definitely find myself coming back. read more

I'm so glad they finally opened! My fave picks are the Radler and Nordic Jam. I went on Thursday and caught the comedy show and had a great time. I def need to try their slushies. DO NOT COME HERE!! VERY RUDE! I came here with my friends to end my birthday with a drink. What should have been a good time, quickly turned into a really unpleasant moment. One of the workers, "Josh," kept pressuring us to finish our drinks because they were about to close. We all started to chug our beer, that by the way we had all just barely purchased. He then started to come around and take everyone's glass whether or not they were still drinking it. I had momentarily paused because it ain't always easy to chug a beer and in that second he took away my drink, even after I told him that I wasn't finished with it - I literally had about a third or less. He did this to most of my friends. Mind you, they close at 11pm and this all happened by 11:01pm. Honestly, I had never been treated so poorly as I was tonight and I would never recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever bother coming back. read more

Love this space and it's already become my new favourite hang out bar in Oakland. They have a really big outdoor space with plenty of picnic tables as well as a large indoor space as well. It is pet and child friendly so you can have all your friends together. You never have to wait in line to get in (at least from what I've seen). The drinks are also extremely reasonably priced; I think it's $20 for a pitcher and $6 for a pint and they also have happy hour I think (not sure when but there was a period of time where pints were only $3 lol). I am not a huge fan of beer but I really like their radlers; they are very fruity and unique - and very palatable even to me, a not-regular-beer-drinker. In terms of food Lovely's is located inside the outdoor area. There is usually quite a line (deservedly so) so you will have to wait a while to get your food probably but it's worth it. All in all, it's just a great place to hang out no matter the occasion. Drake's used to be my favourite cool, outdoor/indoor bar/hangout space but I think this place is now my personal favourite. read more

Came for the "pre-opening" party, and d'ange, great spot. Drinks were great, outdoor seating was lovely, and holy bananas, Lovely's pop up in the back was SUCH YUMMY FOOD. I had a bad experience here with two staff members. A female gothic dressing barteneder and a real overzealous bus boy. So, I ordered a soda water at the bar and was given a flavored soda water instead. No big deal, I explained that I wanted a soda water, not a floavored one. The bartender then claimed that they don't have plain soda water. I pointed to the windowed fridge behind her and said, "isn't that plain soda water?" The bartender then claimed, "that's for mixed drinks only"......."um let me see if I can resolve this". She then begrudgingly made me the correct drink, and I paid. Five minutes later a bus boy came up to me and my group, and insincerely asked me if I'd had a problem with my drink, and then proceeded to lecture me on how I needed to be nicer in the future. I explained that I had not been rude in any way, and did not feel I had to do anything differently. He did like that I was calmly disagreeing with him, so he accued me of "being aggressive" and "having an attitude" and told me to leave. I finally spoke to the bartender directly, instead of the bus boy intermediary who hadn't witnessed the original interation, and apparently she was upset because she felt that I had made her feel stupid. Be carefull and mindfull with the staff here, I think some of them have issues, and they like to take those issues out on customers. I felt that the two people I dealt with were really self righteous and overzealous, yet incompetent. I've never been kicked out of a bar before and it was a bizarre and infuriating situation. read more

Had an amazing experience here for my birthday! We brought a big cake and the staff kindly refrigerated it for us until it was time to eat. The atmosphere was very lively and everyone there looked like they were having a good time. We had a party of about twenty to thirty and there was plenty of room to walk around without feeling crowded. Family and dog friendly which is a huge plus. And on top of that, the food at Lovely's is delicious and the beer is obviously good. Will absolutely be back again! read more

These sweet folks left several beers for us to try at our Airbnb! I have never had more than a sip of beer (and I am 40 something...), I just don't like the taste and don't want to drink unnecessary calories unless it's good! I decided to drink Tommy's mom's favorite, the Radler, honestly thinking I would have only a sip and have to dispose of it. This was sooo yummy and loved the grapefruit and blood orange. I happily gulped all 12oz (so much for dry January)! Next up, the Nordic Jam! I guess I am now a fan of Radler-style beers! I just discovered this spot. A very nice place for a beer. The "classic" fried chicken sandwich was was great. They use chicken thighs, which are really the best for sandwiches as they don't dry out during cooking like chicken breast. Only downside is the incredibly long line and wait for food. There's just one person taking orders, and he also got pulled away to deliver food to tables. Also people would get to the order window and then try to figure out what they wanted. Think of it this way. If 20 people are ahead of you in line and when they get to the order window it takes them a minute or two to; read the menu, decide what they want, have the order placed, and pay the bill... you could be in line for 30 to 45 minutes. i thought for sure i would not be into radlers. i was picturing fruity, sweet, cloying "beers." boy, was i wrong! the three i tried were great. i tend to enjoy maltier ales and the occasional IPA, so my palate is geared towards that. i can appreciate a sour or gose, and the beers at this place lean in that direction. they also have a great lager (for those scared of fruit i assume). looking forward to tasting the others, including a milk stout (again, for the fruit intolerant). read more
