Yesterday was my first time visiting this Two Sugars location since the change in ownership last year, although I have visited their location in Beacon Hill recently. This visit coincided with the spring Kansas City Caffeine Crawl and received a wonderful presentation from owners Kat and Robert. They discussed their dreams and challenges of operating a coffee shop and sharing personal stories that connected for the crawlers. They were also very generous in providing 5 different beverage samples and a variety of baked goods. They buy their beans from Hammerhand Roasters that provide a great cup of drip, cold brew and espresso based concoctions, including the Samoa Cookie, Blueberry Cobbler and Lucky Charm Lattes. All were top of the line and presented in a charming space with local art featured, currently the art is from one of their baristas. I'm eager to return for one the pop-up events they host or just enjoy the patio on a nice day.

Interesting spot off of Troost. Small space, but there are three or four tables available. Perfect on a slow day. The chai was just okay, but the cinnamon roll was phenomenal! Had a nice chat with Kat. I will definitely be back.

This venue was super cute, I visited for a private event, and the staff was very friendly! Great date spot with lots of two-top seating! Just a heads up for the decaf folks (which I'm forced to in afternoons!), they do not have decaf espresso beans, but plenty of other options, I had a lovely hisbiscus iced tea!

New Coffee shop and new look. It has great aesthetic, painted wall work and plenty of different type of seating available. There are local vendor items to buy inside as well. There's parking on the west side of the building not where the grocery store is and the patio is on the east side. Service was great. Lavender haze was good latte.

This is a super cute little coffee shop. When you walk in the walls are so creatively painted. Art is a huge passion of mine so I appreciate the work that was put into this place. I could hang out here all day. I noticed there's also a patio outside with tables and chairs. I ordered an iced sugar-free vanilla latte which was good. I didn't have to wait at all. I almost ordered the chocolate croissant which was screaming my name. It looked very good. Maybe next time. Great service. Friendly staff. I love visiting coffee shops so when I'm in the area, I'll probably be back. They also have different goods to buy.

This is a solid coffee shop. We live about 30 min away so I'm not sure it was good enough to bring us back when there are so many good coffee shops around town....but this is a solid choice. The wife, boy, and I all liked what we choose, food was good as well. Also it's a cute place with what looks like a nice patio, however it was raining today. Nice people working as well

One of the cutest coffee shop I have been to in the area. It has a great ambiance, and I love the decor and style. The barista was very nice and helpful for drink selection. They had some good pastries or breakfast sandwiches to pick from. Will come again!

Weekends Are For Local Coffee! This Weekend I Visited The Absolutely Cutest Coffee Shop, Two Sugars Coffee! Upon Walking In You Were Greeted With The Cutest Blue Door Then Immediately Are Inundated With Beautiful Tones Of Pink, Orange And Blue That Gives The Coffee Shop The Coziest And Cutest Vibe. The Barista Also Greeted Me With A Smile And Cheerful Attitude As She Explained The Menu To Me! They Had The Cutest Little Boutique Area And So Many Other Cute Points! You Know Me, Always Ordering The House Specialties Or Seasonal Lattes So This Time I Got The Wethers Original Latte And The Caramel And Butterscotch Flavors Are So Rich And Decadent It Complimented The Coffee SO Well. Two Sugars Also Has An Assortment Of Pastries And I Couldn't Resist That Cinnamon Roll And I'm Happy I Got It! I Will ABSOLUTELY Be Back To Two Sugars! 10/10 Would Recommend!

I drove past this cute coffee shop by accident a couple weeks ago after I'd already met my latte quota for the day. It's tucked in well and the sign doesn't necessarily grab your attention from the street so if you end up in the parking lot for the Mediterranean market, you're super close. Parking for this coffee shop is actually on the other side (west, in a gated section). The baby blue door gives a hint to the sweet color palette on the inside. I walked inside and noticed I was the only customer which would usually give me pause but the owner was standing right at the counter, smiling and ready! We had a lovely conversation in which I learned that the beans used are roasted locally in Raytown and aren't in other coffee shops (only grocery stores) so I loved that aspect of getting a different flavor than some of the other well known shops around town. I chose the lavender honey brown sugar latte (omitted the brown sugar in fear of too much sweetness) and forgot to say oat but the owner rescued me from a bad day by asking, do you want whole milk?" Whew!! Way to clarify . Also indulged in a chocolate crossiant that was good but would have been better, warmed. Plenty of seating indoors with cozy cushions, books to read and some thrifted items for purchase as well as an attached patio for when the weather stabilizes a bit. Will definitely be back.

Best breakfast sandwich in KC! Bacon, egg, on an everything bagel - so so good! Add a seasonal latte for the perfect breakfast/brunch.

Baked goods on a Friday morning!

Great little hole on the wall in KC. Breakfast pastries are limited in choice, but delicious and seem to be house made. Drinks are quick and well made. I tried the apple tart, egg and cheese bagels and blueberry scone- all delicious! Their Americano was smooth and their seasonal "Cherry Bakewell" had an original flavor. Definitely worth a quick stop if you are in the area.

What I love about this location is you can get something super quick to go (an Aussie Pie or Sausage Roll for example) or something fast casual to eat a quick meal . Their hours are targeted for Breakfast/Lunch/Brunch. It's very Aussie influenced with sections Breakfast, Lunch and Hotbox. I ordered off the lunch menu and got the Cuban Confit Pork sandwich and my partner got the Chicken Banh Mi. We split a bag of chips and walked out for a little less than $40 with tip. The service was friendly and "order at the counter." The worker was quick to give suggestions and a layout of the menu. My Cuban sandwich was awesome and had a little bit of a Chinese Five Spice kinda vibe. Unexpected but pleasant. There are so many other things I want to try when I go back!

Unsure if they had more options in the back, but outside of macaroons, no gf options. They do have tea but it's not advertised on their menu. They have such cute teapots and cups for their tea. I went for the pistachio honey latte (I'm a sucker for pistachio!) and snagged the last veggie quiche of the morning around 11am. Both were absolutely delicious and perfect for breakfast. My friend had the rosewater croissant and a strawberry matcha iced latte--both equally unique and delightful. Despite being a bustling Saturday morning, the staff was incredibly kind and efficient. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a cozy spot no matter the weather. For parking, I'd recommend Westport Road or 40th Street (west of Main) and taking a short walk. Preordering whole quiches, tarts, cookies, cupcakes may require 48 hours' notice. Enchanté is more than just a bakery--it's a little slice of magic in Kansas City. I can't wait to go back and try more seasonal goodies!

To step through its threshold is to surrender to the siren song of warmth that curls from the oven like a whispered secret. I have made it my pilgrimage to traverse the entirety of their menu, a culinary odyssey that has yielded no false steps, only a symphony of consistency that borders on the miraculous. Each offering, from the flaky, golden architecture of their pastries to the robust, honest comfort of their savory fare, is a testament to the artisan's hand. Here, affordability is not a sacrifice of quality but a generous invitation, a rare confluence where the exquisite meets the accessible. There is a certain magic in the air at McLain's, a sweetness that feels woven into the very fabric of the establishment. It is a place that understands the language of comfort, speaking it fluently in the dialect of a perfect crust or the rich, dark notes of a expertly pulled espresso. It is perhaps no surprise that such a bastion of authentic delight has garnered a reputation that extends far beyond our local borders; if the standard of excellence is high enough to grace the plate of Taylor Swift, then surely, it is more than enough for us, the grateful residents who claim this treasure as our own. Yet, beyond the flour-dusted counters and the glowing glass cases, my deepest admiration is reserved for their spirit. In a world that often measures worth in cold, transactional metrics, McLain's chooses to honor those who pour themselves into the future of our community. As a teacher, I feel that recognition in the small gestures, the welcoming nods, and the genuine appreciation they extend to educators. It is a profound kindness, a recognition that the work of shaping minds requires nourishment, both intellectual and literal. They understand that a classroom is a marathon, and they act as the essential pit stop, providing the fuel that keeps the light of inquiry burning bright. To dine at McLain's is to participate in a ritual of belonging. It is a place where the passage of time is marked not by the ticking of a clock, but by the turning of the oven trays. It is a reliable heartbeat in the neighborhood, steadfast and true, offering a reprieve from the clamor of the outside world. Whether one seeks a quiet moment of reflection over a cup of coffee or a celebratory feast that honors the simple, profound joy of eating well, McLain's remains an unrivaled steward of taste. It is not merely a bakery; it is the living, breathing soul of Waldo, a place where every bite serves as a reminder that some things in this life are exactly as good as they ought to be.
