We found tx auto group online and the car selection & pricing seemed great. The process went as smooth as buying a car can go... Come to find out, they sold my boyfriend the truck with all fluids on empty, the horn didn't work , and neither did the controls on the steering wheel. No one informed us of these issues which is unacceptable and dangerous, what if the horn was needed to avoid collision and when he pressed it, it just didn't work? Warning that we need to fix it would of been acceptable, but hiding it is not. The salesman was very inexperienced & had no input or knowledge really in helping us. We were told that plates would be sent in the mail, then our sales rep stopped answering & strung us out each week saying they would come in. after 3 months one day we called him and HE BLOCKED US. not only on his work phone but he blocked our number on the dealership phone. This is completely unprofessional and shocking because nothing had happened to make blocking us acceptable. Update on my review. It has been 2 months since I purchased the vehicle and still have not received the registration or plates for it. The paper plate has expired. I have sent several emails and received no response. I talked to the salesman (Joshua Availa) and he stated he doesn't work at that dealership anymore and I would have to call the dealership itself. I told him maybe I needed to contact my attorney. Joshua stated I can't touch him as he is just a salesman. HAH! All the lies, the promises and the expense has been unbelievable. If I could give ZERO STARS, I would. It is unfortunate that I have to write this review, but maybe I will receive a reply from my sales consultant or management staff after doing so. I purchased a vehicle from Texas Auto Group, located in Houston, Texas, in mid October. I reside in Ft. Lauderdale,Florida. I proceeded to purchase the vehicle online through TrueCar. Once I showed interest, I would hear from a representative daily. After my purchase, I have had the hardest time trying to get ANY help from them, my sales rep and management team. I purchased a 2018 Mercedes S450 AMG from them. All of the pictures online looked great, the description of the vehicle was great, and the interaction back and forth about the vehicle was great. I decided to move forward with the purchase and this process took no time at all. Once everything was signed and completed, that is where the issues began. I was asked if I'd be shipping the vehicle, I confirmed. My rep asked if I would be adding the shipping cost to the price, I confirmed. Days passed, then a week, an so on so forth. I called and asked what was going on, the rep stated that the shipping company had canceled, and that they were looking for an alternate. I stated that I could have found a shipping company and used them, he said no. Few days passed, I called again, he said I should call my company. I decided that I would fly to Houston to pick it up myself. I asked about the shipping refund that was added to the overall cost. He stated that he didn't even charge me for it yet, there were other fees!!! Lies Next morning I was on a plane, landed in Houston, then took an Uber to pick up the vehicle. Their website states that they will pick you up from the airport, no offer was ever made, even after informing him thatno would be flying there in the morning. Upon arriving to the dealership, I was greeted and asked to sit at my sales consultants desk. He stated that the car was being washed and it would be a few. I was never offered any water etc. He sat behind a big computer screen, getting up a few times to go outside and smoke, coming back in smelling of cigarettes. Finally the vehicle was ready. The gas was on empty and I was handed a key. He stated, "here you go, take it for a spin, let me knownif you have any issues, if not, have a good day" I left the dealership and had to locate the nearest gas station. I did a quick walk around and inspected the vehicle. There were dents and dings around that were not mentioned at all in the description, small a easy fixes. It drove fine and didn't have any lights on the dash. I told him I was ok, then proceeded to drive from Houston to Florida. I stopped for the day in Lake City. FL, and when I started the car, the dash looked like a christmas tree, with all the check engine lights etc. Something was wrong with the safety sensors, which tie into the braking and lane keep assist system. I proceeded to place my luggage in the trunk, the trunk would not close, it just kept popping open. I had to get rope from the hotel to hold it down, then went to the auto ptart store for a strap. I called my consultant, no reply. I sent him text messages of everything that was going wrong with the vehicle. His reply via text was, "what ever is wrong with it, we should fix it and pay for it" I agreed and asked for the managers information, never receiving it. I called a few times, left a message for the manager, I still not heard from them. I have repeatedly asked for their email addresses and information, that way I could forward the information to them, still nothing from them. I have in writing and the verbal confirmation, that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle at all. I had my brother pull the Equifax report on it, it was imvolved in an accident. I called the sales consultant, no answer, I sent a text asking if it had been in an accident, he said "oh, yeah, in 2018, but they fixed it". If I would have known this, I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle. I was mislead into believing that the vehicle was in great condition, far from it. There was a parking sensor in the bumper that was not installed correctly, it was hanging by a Dallas piece of plastic. The list of issues is long. Faulty Safetly Sensor. Faulty Truck latch motor. Faulty driver door window module. Rotors are warped. Oil leak. I am scared to find out what else. I had the vehicle inspected at a local shop. I would like to take the vehicle to Mercedes and have the TX Auto Group pay for what is wrong with it. Leta see if I hear anything back after this review. Almost bought a car from them until they tried to add a fee of $699 for an installed Lo Jack. Texas law limits a dealer prep fee to $150. They are hiding the fee and making an additional $549 from this practice which I think is probably illegal. They would not take off the fee. They said the $699 fee was non negotiable. Currently going through the worst purchase struggle of my life. A few months back this dealership sold me a bad apple and knew exactly the shade they were dealing out. I've tried for about 3 weeks now to just have professionalism and solve the problem they created. Seems like money is the only thing this dealership is interested it. I would stay very far away. UPDATED REVIEW: Everything that can go wrong went wrong. Expect non-stop mistake after mistake when dealing with this company. I advise potential buyers not do business with this company unless you want a headache in the process. I still regret doing business with this company, as I stated in my original review (please read, listed below). FOUR months after buying a car from them I had to return it, and trade it in for another car from their lot, because they failed to provide me with tags. And the only reason they took the car back is because I wrote a honest but bad review about them. So fast forward SIX months later, I went in to retrieve my tags, and by the grace of God they had them, but when I asked for the title I was told that the DMV would mail them to the address listed on the tag paper. Guess what? They had an incorrect address listed. Now I have to wait until the dmv reopens, because of COVID-19, to figure out how to get my title. Not to mention within the first month of buying the car, the check engine light came on. I had to replace: the smog pump, check valve, and radiator fan, and there's no telling what's next. ALSO, after I picked up my tags I noticed my windshield was chipped and that chip was not there before I arrived, but mysteriously as I drove off a chip in my windshield appeared. I highly doubt that was a coincidence. They're shady, untrustworthy business men, so BUYER BEWARE. You couldn't pay me to do business with these guys. I purchased a car from them -in cash- four months ago, and have yet to receive the title or tags. For months I've called Sean seeking to obtain the car tags to no avail. Recently, I spoke to the manager, Charles, and explained the problem to him he assured me that he would get the matter resolved and asked me to wait another week. I'm tired of waiting because for weeks I've prolonged fixing repairs on the car, because I'm not sure if I'll have to return it because of an issue with a lien and power-of-attorney, and each passing day the car problems are getting worse. So when and IF they get the power-of-attorney situation figured out I'll be stuck with repairs that should've been fixed weeks ago. Not only that but now my affiliation with this company is starting to make me look tacky, because I've also been driving around with a cracked windshield for a month, that I refuse to fix because I've lost faith in their ability to properly do their job and because Sean told me that there is a chance that I may have to return the car. ALSO I've had to print off several paper tags then staple them to the plastic slip to avoid the paper tag from falling out, because it's fallen out several times, so several times I've had to drive around tagless until I printed off another paper tag. As a consumer this is very unfair to me and I am very dissatisfied. I've voiced my dissatisfaction to both Sean and Charles in a reasonable manner, and they continue to tell me the same thing they've been telling me for months. And although I've been visibly upset I've NEVER cursed them out, never screamed, yelled, or disrespected them. Before I posted this review, I spoke to Charles in person and gave him a chance to rectify the situation and I told him exactly what steps I would take if the issue still wasn't resolved. He obviously didn't care. Now I'm forced to file several complaints against this company to: The DMV, The Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission, and The BBB and it shouldn't even have to be taken that far. After explaining the situation to the DMV and the Attorney General's office, even they became upset and called their business practices unethical and gave me other avenues to pursue along with filing my complaints with them. I just purchased a 2013 red ford fusion from here in march 2023 and my experience was tacky to the fact my employer volunteered to pay my attorney fees. We will make sure this company pay everything that's owed. Thank god I recorded every interaction for proof they discriminate against potential buyers who doesn't speak or understand Spanish. Also they have a habit of changing their stories, Lying saying the car have a blue title never been in a wreck, and I can't confirm that yet because I don't have the title. Im on my second paper tag. Something told me to pull the CARFAX myself and BOOM car was in a wreck. which explains why the passenger door won't stay closed. Of course they lied and denied everything so I could care less I'm just glad I thought to record because I typically keep my phone put away. That area is currently being gentrified so I'm sure a new gas station will be built on that lot. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to my enemy that's how terrible and unethical they are. Make sure you bring a mechanic with you. The issue I'm having with my vehicle is a leaking gasket they put gasket sealer in it to temporarily solve the issue. Proving they were aware of the issue before selling it. That's all I can say for review purposes. I got a used BMW from this place and I was happy they worked with me to get me a deal I'd agree to. The salesman helped me out so I didn't have any complaints about my experience. While negotiating the salesman said they could work with me on a deal and it was about as good as it would get since he was getting me a "free delivery " but when I said he could take off the free delivery and I just go pick it up suddenly the "free delivery" doesn't change the price that much. So I knew that was a good ole car salesman lie. Other than that everything went smooth and I got to drive home in the new/used car. However, exactly one week later the car broke down and I had to pull off of the highway. So straight to the shop it had to go and it ended up needing a $2400 fix after just one week of owning it. So either they don't know what they're doing working on BMW cars or I'm just really unlucky. Then a week and a half later another warning light came on for a transmission malfunction. So then I had to do another fix which ended up costing $300. I even reached out to TX Auto Group to see what they could do and I contacted Brian the finance guy but they never got back to me after a whole month went by. I gave them an opportunity to help but they showed me they weren't interested so I didn't bother to keep trying. So my warning to future customers is to get a warranty with the car you pick or be careful because if you buy a car as is you really are buying the car as it is even if it's not going to work a week later and they won't care about you after they get you to sign those papers. Their job is to sell you a car and once they do it ain't their problem anymore. They got back to me pretty quick when I was buying the car but when I reached out to them for help I got nothing. I am an out of State car buyer, this company told me if I left them a deposit of $500, they would hold the car so that I could get an inspection. After a day went by, they tried to tell me that I needed to pay another $500. After the inspection, this car had so many modifications, that it wont pass the required California smog requirement. In fact, the inspector I hired said that this car was in bad sharp when he drove it. When I requested my refund back, the dealership said that the money was non refundable. I never signed anything with this policy. I would recommend never doing business with a company down to their last $500, that would not return someone's money. The company is a real class act. I would say the TX Auto Group is unethical, however I do not believe they even understand the word. I negotiated a deal to purchase a 2022 Porsche via phone and internet (I am in California). I received verbal approval from them of our deal (via phone and text), a written Buyer's Order, a request to make a deposit (which I did) and agreed to send my trade-in from California to Texas. When it came time to complete the final paper work - the deal they presented was not the NEGOTIATED deal but the original asking price - which was about $10K more than the negotiated price. I, of course, refused to complete the deal and had my trade-in shipped back to California. They have now refused to refund the deposit-which an honest dealer would have done and which seems to be a reoccurring theme with them from other reviews. I am now out the deposit, the shipping costs and a key fob that somehow was mysteriously lost between my shipping my car to Texas and its return-total cost $2600. I haven't decided how to handle this yet. Avoid them. read more

I never wanted to return my money, I'm waiting for the Carfax report "I'm sure it's a lemon" but we'll see you in court!!!! upadate 7/17/2019 Lies!!! I just asked for my metal plates. the first time he said after 3 months I was going to pick them up and it never happened!!! He gave me another paper plate for another 3 months and I had to be asking for it more than 3 times and he said he had already sent it to my e-mail and Anthony Alfaro just lied!!! UPDATE: took the truck i purchased to a local automotive shop where I live, they found the source of the problem...the engine wiring harness is from a 2006 Tundra (the truck I bought is a 2010). Instead of doing the right thing (buying a new harness) the shop where the dealer has these cars fixed gerry-rigged the harness into the truck. --- I'm writing this review as the culmination of an almost 5-month saga with TX Auto group. In short, I do not recommend anyone to purchase anything from this small dealership as they have issues of quality control and poor great customer service which I'll detail below. Everything started on March 13th when I purchased a white 2010 Toyota tundra from this dealership. When I test drove the vehicle everything looked fine except for the slip light indicator light. The salesperson told me (and I have the text messages saved of the same promise) that this would not be a problem and that they (the dealership) would fix the issue after I purchased the vehicle. With this promise I then proceeded to purchase the vehicle from the dealer. After purchasing the vehicle, the salesperson and owner told me to take my truck to "Steve's Auto Repair Shop" at 5521 Glenmont Dr in Houston. I took the vehicle to them on a March 19th and they worked on the vehicle for 3 days. I called them on March 21st morning, and they were unable to diagnose the problem as to why the slip indicator light came on and would not turn off. During this period, they replaced only the control switch to the slip indicator light. They did not try to replace anything else including the ABS module which would be indicative of a C1380 error code from the OBDII reader. I had to then bring the vehicle back to them on April 9th to Houston (I live in Austin) and Steve said he would need a couple weeks to determine what the problem is with the truck however he proceeded to keep my vehicle until May 3rd (almost 5 weeks) replacing multiple parts including the ABS module, the signal indicator, and checking the harness to try to figure out what was causing the slip indicator light to come on. During this time period and after numerous attempts, Steve sent my truck to Pacific Coast Auto Repair to try solving the problem. During this time, I proceeded to try to contact the owner of TX Auto Group. After spending four days of calling his phone number and going straight to voicemail, I proceeded to call him from my wife's cell phone and he immediately answered. After discussing the problem, the owner did not seek to get involved with the problem or seek alternative ways to correct the issue. I picked my vehicle back-up on May 3rd as the repair shop having my vehicle for 5 weeks was beginning to seriously affect my ability to get to-and-from work. As stated earlier, the truck still had an issue with the slip indicator light. He said that he would need to procure a specific type of ABS module (model# 440500c240) in order to fix the problem. He stated that each week he would call his auto repair dealer LKQ Auto Parts to try and get the repair part. I still continue to call Steve every Monday and Thursday since 3 May (almost three months since I took my truck back) to ask him if he has found the replacement part, but each time he states that he is unable to find the repair part. However, when I do a quick internet search for the part it is readily available on multiple websites, including Toyota's but Steve is not willing it to purchase it from them he only wants to procure it through LKQ. While I cannot give this dealership a 1-star review because part of this saga is my fault for buying the vehicle from them, I still think it is very poor customer service from the dealership to promise to fix the vehicle but never follow-through on actually ensuring that the problem is corrected. I'm very dissatisfied with my 2010 Tundra that I purchased and hope to one day correct this problem. It's a scam place. I flew from Chicago to Houston to buy a car that I was approved for credit wise but under one condition that I test drive the car first. If I like it, then the sale goes through. They made me put down $200 to hold the car which I was assured that it was refundable. I show up at the dealership and from the first glance at the car , it doesn't look at all at the pictures they advertise ( they use filters most likely for the pictures). I took the car for a test drive and it was a disaster. I notified my salesman that I was not interested and that I'm taking a plane back to Chicago ASAP. I requested my $200 where I was told that it will be refunded through the same payment method I used. A month 1/2 later and after numerous attempts to contact then, no success. The trip cost me a $1000 in airfare plus $200. This dealership has no consideration whatsoever for you as customer and they are not professional at all. It's not about the money per say, but the principal of honesty and professional business. Furthermore, it was very tiring to squeeze around trip to Houston in 12 hours. Drive 3 hours to buy a 2007 BMW 650i I saw online, they knew we were coming but when we got there the car wasn't there. We were told it was taken to get washed so the salesman called whoever had the car and we were told that the radiator hose had busted so they were fixing it. At the time we were glad that it happened to them and not while we were driving home. On our drive home we stopped for dinner and when we came out the coolant was running from the car all the way down the parking lot. We went to Walmart and purchased 2 gallons off coolant and headed back on our way home. We had to pull over several times and buy more coolant, 6 gallons total! Our 3 hour drive home took 6 hours! Called TX auto group the next morning and they said we could take it to our mechanic and they would pay for it. When it was fixed they were upset that it was $500 and didn't want to pay After several phone calls back and forth they finally paid it. Not even 3 weeks later the transmission locked up. Being that the car was an older model I insisted on having a full warranty that I paid for through TX auto group from Alpha warranty. The warranty didnt cover everything that needed to be repaired. I was upset at the $5000 in repairs we needed already so I posted a negative review on Google. I immediately got a call from Sean begging me to take it down and saying they would do whatever it took to make me happy. I was very surprised by them offering to help pay SOME of the uncovered portion. After about a month in the shop I finally get the car back and began to have issues with the starter and oil leak. Back to the shop it goes! Get the car back again and the active steering light comes on the next day. We were told the car needed $9000 worth of repairs to fix the steering issue not covered under the warranty At this point I had had enough. The car was in the shop more than half of the time we owned it. We decided to take the loss of $10,000 in negative equity in the car we had just over 6 months and trade it in. I called TX auto group and informed them we traded in the Junk car they sold us and inquired about the refund of the unused portion of the extended warranty I had purchased. After several messages with no reply a month later I finally received a call and was told I needed to give them the milage on the car when we traded it in so they could give us the pro rated amount. I sent them the form with the milage from the dealership we traded it in at. I waited a month and called to inquire on the status. No answer. I called Alpha warranty and was told they never received anything. Several messages were sent and many ignored phone calls over the course of 3 months. I decided they weren't ever going to answer me and keep the money they owed me so I decided to report them to the BBB. Low and behold I get a phone call from Sean yelling at the top of his lungs cussing me out, calling me names and told me "you aren't getting shit". I also posted a bad review on their Facebook book page to warn others of how horrible this car company is and they were arguing and lying on my post and hid it from their timeline. I will make sure I get the word out to as many people as u can to STAY AWAY from Texas Auto Group!!!!! They are RUDE and have awful business practices! read more
